I´ve experienced that myself as well. I´m an outdoor kind of guy. I´ve always enjoyed hiking.

A couple of years ago I was preparing for a 6 days expedition here in Brazil and when I got my compass, I just noticed it was weird. I used to have that compass for years and I just though it was time to get myself a new one. Then I got to the store and took my old compass with me, and realized that it was perfect, if compared to new ones. Something just changed a lot.

That´s when I started to be aware of this amazingly quick pole shifting.

My question is, what would happen if the north pole completely shifts?

Humans wont be that much effected by this ... as we dont rely on the magnetic field in our daily lifes. Electronic equipment might get effected(compasses 100%) ... maybe satellites. Surely the climate will change rabidly and also many many animals/plants will have it hard as they use the magnetic field all the time.
