If you ask me this is one of the better pieces of UFO footage I've seen in a while. Thankfully the guy who filmed it seems to be fairly "switched on", providing a good running commentary and lots of useful information... nice to see for a change ;)

So here's the vid... enjoy!

Ok, now I'm going to stick my neck out on this one by stating the following observations:

Here goes, IMO this object IS NOT:

1. swamp gas ;)... that's just ridiculous.
2. a star or planet... it moves across the sky far too quickly.
3. Chinese lanterns... the objects lights go out, disappear, and then reappear elsewhere and lanterns just don't do that.
4. a flare/s... flares pretty much just sit in the sky for a while and dissipate while dropping slowly.
5. a low flying plane or helicopter... the light's don't look anything like navigation lights on your standard commercial, domestic or military aircraft (not the right colours).
6. a RC helicopter with LED lights strapped to it... the object moves waaay too quickly to be a p!ssy little RC helicopter with an electric or two-stroke petrol motor.
7. created by some dweeb in a basement using CGI software...it just doesn't look like CGI to me, plus the guy filming it doesn't sound like your typical CGI UFO- video-producing d!ckhead.

All that said, if anybody would like to disagree or offer some other "serious" explanation for this footage I'd love to hear it...

Thanks for posting this great UFO footage!
It looks like a plasma enity- interesting it seems to pulsate and different colours can sometimes be seen.

We saw the same thing - orange object that disappeared from view after a few seconds above Pittsfield MA on July 1st, 2011. Looked identical to the far away view recorded above. Many witnesses.

It was Canada Day weekend, did you see the fireworks on the left?

I believe it is a firework of some type that lasts a long time.

Hmmm this is definitely a possibility but to be quite honest I've seen many multi million dollar fireworks displays and I've never witnessed any type of firework that has the ability to sit suspended in the sky for extended periods of time...

I have to admit that I am no fireworks expert but I do know they are constantly creating new fancy ones all of the time. Would be good to have a pyrotechnics opinion.

Thankyou so much for posting this. I wish I'd known about this as it was happenning (I live 5 minutes west of Toronto in Mississauga)....I would have been able to see it myself. No way that's fireworks (fireworks don't last suspended 5+ minutes moving east to west then splitting to 3). The guy filming it specifically says it is not fireworks (which would be the next night...July 1st for Canada Day). Nice to know there are people out there capturing this stuff on video.

Incredible footage indeed, as I know the city of Toronto. I used to live in Scarborough, and for that,, whatever it was object to travel from Scarborough and head west past the CN tower and over into the west end of the city towards Mississauga etc..... well I do not know of any fireworks that can do that??????? This guy filming it was probably in the the area of Vaughn which is about 5 to 10 minutes driving north of the city judging by the view he was displaying. Nonetheless, pretty cool capture whatever it is/was.

Yikes, we saw that. It was Saturday night and although the next day was the official fireworks, many private displays were happening. We drove from the cinema and saw so many that we went right out to watch from our back deck when we got home. This light in the sky drew our attention and we watched it come north to us in the west end then head back eastwards. Thought it was one of the many helicopters that my family saw crisscrossing the skies all evening.

Right on, man, really nice video.
Looks like us crazy cannucks have fantastic ufo sightings as well , just, like the rest of the world.
If this is somekind of flim flam attempt, they are very talented and should be working for Hollywood.
I sure wish that I,d been looking up that night.
