View Full Version : Detroit The Lost City

Even though Detroit is starting to rebuild old Detroit looks like something from an apocalypse movie. There are probably a lot more places like this. It’s a shame when money runs out and there is no investment people move on. But the people who still live there are amongst the most welcoming and proud you will ever meet. But just as statistics only tell part of the story, one myth does not explain a city. Visiting Detroit is like peering into the soul of what film maker Julien Temple calls the first post American city.

You could say a lot about Detroit without actually coming here. You could say the city as lost 25 per cent of its population in the past ten years.Thats more than the number that fled New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

You could also say that more than a third of the city’s space is currently lying idle or unused and you would be right about both. Such is the mythology of Detroit’s decline it threatens to eclipse the golden legacy of Mowtown, the music that was born in the motor city and conquered the world.

Detroit like its 'sister' city to the north, Flint, has a sort of energetic shroud anchored over it. Not sure if this was intentionally contrived or a result of what people project out there in Detroit and Flint. Sort of a sticky net , stuck energy. Whatever the case may be that sort of energetic shroud serves to keep that sort of dense energy contained to the area. But it also means the cities themselves are basically caught in a net of stagnant energy. Detroit does have large cavernous salt mines, that it is speculated have been turned into underground bases and the advent of those bases is what sort of really caused the spiral downward decline. And may be responsible for that dense energetic umbrella over the city.

I have never visited Detroit without having some bizarre inicident occuring. Usually one that is not of an alltogether positive light. There's been occasions where i"ve had to work down there where they old auto terminals and old Cadillac plant are located and its just weird....like the area is stripped of all pulse. I stopped going there years ago save for the periodic drop in for GLI at Cobo.

I'm curious what prompted you to post about Detroit.

I was actually looking into the after effects of what happens to cities when there's been a nuclear accident and accidently came across cities that have died through no other reason than investment.

You would think some major event took place in Detroit

Detroit stood out and i must say what a shame

That's interesting you brought up the nuclear devastation thing. So many people seen visions of Detroit being laid waste and presumbed it was because of a nuclear exchange. If not a direct missile hit, because it was at time time a MAJOR industrial center....at one time I mean....The auto factories have been hastily convereted a number of times to produce weapons in the 40's , etc. And it was once a outpost for military contractors... Detroits landscape often reminds one of a post apocalyptic scene--one could be quite convinced some neutron bomb was discharged there...and its not all that far from the Fermi reactor.

Curious. You WOULD think some major event took place there.

Salt mines?

I never knew that one. I have visited Detroit many times, It is definitely a freaky place. The aura is unlike any other city. Yes, crushed, dead, oppressive in some ways. Like a bad spot on the highway that you move through and past, as quickly as you can.

I've wandered through those disaster zone areas more than once; this is before car jacking became the sport it is today. Those zones were there long before the recent collapse. The film 'Robocop' makes extensive use of them, as many film productions have, over the years.

This is what I found so far. Not unexpected.

Chemicals for food:

http://www.detroitsalt.com/detroit-salt-mine-history.html

In 2010, The Kissner Group purchased the Detroit Salt Company, LLC, along with ownership of the mine. Today, the two companies work synergistically together to provide North America with a full line of ice melter products ranging from bulk rock salt to bagged rock salt and premium blended formulations.

http://www.kissner.com/index.php/food-chemical.html

Kissner is a leading distributor of quality food grade chemical products. We know that the success of your operation relies on a secure supply of high quality food chemical ingredients.

~~~~~~~~~~~
This is not unexpected. it is definitely following the pattern. Now for who owns Kissner, if this information can be found.
Seems innocent, right?
Well....
"originally from Kitchener, Ontario Canada."
Co-incidentally. Kitchener-Waterloo, the area spoken of... was originally, before the wars..called BERLIN.
Probably (at the time and possibly still today) the highest concentrated German population outside of Germany.
Back to the 'question of lithium' thread. Which goes right down that Nazi-CIA/Black ops/ dimensional/alien/creature, underground base, Monsanto-chemical road of such a well trodden nature....
And here it is ------again.
A completely private and small company, taken in 13 short years, to a position of being a leader in food chemicals, underground salt mines...and this... done by an ex-banker.
From the article at the globe and mail. The man brought in was from the money industry and we are talking about power and merging. A theme championed by the CIA/nazi group. Also, a completely private company. A Much tighter system with regard to sharing with the public. (public vs privately held companies)
"David Safran, Kissner's chief executive, talked to Streetwise about the choice to pass on private equity, Kissner's growth and why private companies could be the answer to Canada's search for corporate champions.
If Mr. Safran's name rings a bell on Bay Street, it's because he was a mergers and acquisitions banker, most recently at National Bank Financial, before going to work at Kissner. "
If... you begin to look..you will find the connective tissue and the stinky parts. IF.. you know what it is you search for ....and what you are looking at.
this has been moved into 'the question of lithium' thread as the connection exists for that to be relevant. Oil is in the area. I have suspected for years that there is an IMMENSE amount of oil down there. Like old ghost towns, no-one has bothered to do new surveys, since the original wells were drilled.
The old 'Berlin' (Kitchener-Waterloo) and Detroit? Well, the oil and ancient salt lake bed area of highest intensity is framed by those two cities, in some ways.
How did they manage being involved in that co-incidence, again? Hhmmmmm?
Above is the link to the absolutely mesmerizing bbc production, 'Requiem for Detroit'...People are starting to return to the city, not for industrial pursuits...but for agricultural endeavours!!
The fact that Detroit lies in apocalyptic ruins, is America's best kept secret.
'Paris of the Midwest', some of the most amazing architecture in the US, abandoned and crumbling...prophetic words?... 'As Detroit goes, so goes the nation...'
It's because it revolted in the past, lots of hardship happened in Detroit. I've been thinking about Detroit today for no apparent reason.
