The Arizona town that's become a YouTube sensation for its police department hauling away a woman speaking at a town-hall meeting allegedly declared a state of emergency this afternoon, leaving many local residents in fear of what officers dressed in full riot gear might do.

agreed. they are not the typical town meeting that we've seen around my neck of the woods...... could be the start of something more insidious.

I worked for one administration that declared a "state of emergency" to subvert the contract process. I researched "state of emergency" and learned that the administration was ineligible to declare it. This was pointed out and voila, the state of emergency ceased.

Clearly the town is abusing its authority and it's setting itself up for a lawsuit. That lady is going to get a good civil rights attorney and when she's finished, she'll run the town and can select whomsoever she wants a police chief.

Time to speak to the county sheriff.
If anyone is in Arizona, please contact Richard Mack and ask him to contact the county sheriff.
Richard is an ex Arizona sheriff.

I emailed him, but coming from a ''local'' would be better.

"Alex continues his conversation with Jennifer Jones, the Arizona woman who was arrested for daring to speak her mind during a city hall meeting in the town of Quartzsite.

Quartzsite Police Chief Jeff Gilbert has asked the town council to declare a "state of emergency" due to all of the publicity the town has received over the arrest of a reporter at an open meeting in June.
The town council voted 5-0 in favor of the action; Mayor Ed Foster did not attend the emergency meeting Sunday afternoon. Gilbert reportedly said the action was needed because Jennifer Jones was "inciting riots" after videos of her arrest at the meeting sprung up across the Internet.
It was not immediately clear what outside assistance, if any, Gilbert seeks to enforce the state of emergency."

This thread needs to be merged with Giovonni's on the same subject!

There are now two threads on this (merged from four threads).

A four day old thread Police Officers Arrest Woman Exposing Corruption (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?24659-Police-Officers-Arrest-Woman-Exposing-Corruption), which is the merger of a ktlight and a giovonni thread.
This more recent thread, which is the merger of a Muzz thread and a ktlight thread.

I figured that the "Martial Law" declaration was (just barely) a separate enough event to justify its own thread.

Perhaps another subtle, friendly yet occasionally useful post regarding checking previously started threads would be in order.

The search does turn up a lot once you take it for a test drive :car:

Local Police chiefs taking over towns in Arizona? Houston, we have a problem. They cannot call the police. Who do they call. They have messed this up, badly. S.W.A.T. showing up at a Mayors house to force him into an illegal meeting held in secret, to vote the police of chief emergency control,,,, BECAUSE THEY ARE SCARED OF THE MEDIA???????????????????????????? I think they should all be arrested and caned. What a friggin discrase!!

"I got 800 emails, just this morning! I can't work like this!" So I vote we TAKE OVER THE CITY!!!???

If they think that this will stop folks from protesting,,, they are out of their minds,,, this will make it worse. Do not wake the sleeping giant. I am ashamed!!!

Oathkeepers site reports that ten Quartzsite, AZ police officers submitted a written report reflecting their vote of no confidence in the Chief of Police and refusal to follow unlawful orders:

We feel It Is our duty to inform the citizens of this community and the rest of the public, that we do not stand behind Chief Gilbert, or condone any of his criminal actions, nor will we jeopardize our own careers by following orders we know are unconstitutional, or by not reporting his criminal behavior. As it is apparent to us that a vote of No Confidence In Chief Gilbert is not enough to ask for his resignation with cause, we feel that notifying your constituents of the kind of man and Officer that is being allowed to run the Quartzsite Police Department is the only avenue left to convince you to start an honest investigation into a serious matter. My hat's off to all the courageous people involved in this Quartzsite issue, as well as all the other people involved in similar cases throughout this country, who have stood up to the tyranny that has become the norm in this nation. I stand with you and encourage all Americans to do whatever they can to put an end to the greed, corruption, and systematic destruction of our Constitution, Liberty and Freedom before it is too late.

Yeah - that might have been easier. But by now there is sufficient time overlap between the two threads that it would (in my view) be confusing to merge them.

However ... a new thread just started on this same event entitled "Quartzsite, AZ Policemen Uphold the Law", and I have just merged that into this thread.

The older Police Officers Arrest Woman Exposing Corruption (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?24659-Police-Officers-Arrest-Woman-Exposing-Corruption) thread remains separate.

I can feel the 'enough is enough' in the air potently these days. In myself as well, as incidents have come up for acknowledgement and clearing. We are indeed moving into the eye of an interesting storm. May those serving as officers remember themselves to be the infinite beings of consciousness that they are, beyond the suits they wear. Quartzite is indeed an odd town. I mostly remember it for the RV sprawl and strange spontaneous RV open air markets, as seen from the highway going 70mph someplace else. Funny how its on the map in this manner. JDLR comes true. That's former cop talk for Just Doesn't Look Right, what some might term 'probable cause'.

In these two videos, Mayor Ed Foster is talking to Alex Jones about what has transpired since Jennifer Jones was "arrested"....without cause.

Quartzsite, Arizona Update July 21: Chief Suspends 80% of Police Force

About 5 pm PST, The Desert Freedom Press learned that under the current "emergency", Police Chief Jeff Gilbert has suspended ALL officers who filed criminal and ethical complaints against him. This leaves only the four officers who chose to stand with the Chief, despite the controversy and ongoing investigation by DPS. The same officers seen in the "Jennifer Jones arrest" video below. La Paz County Sheriff Don Lowery told the Parker Pioneer Newspaper last week that he had provided back up units to patrol the perimeter of Town Hall during the June 12th council meeting. Quartzsite Police Chief Jeff Gilbert and Sheriff Lowery served together as officers on the Colorado Indian Tribes Reservation. Several Sheriff's vehicles have been seen in the town over the last hour.

Reportedly, the officers are on "house arrest" from 8 am - noon, and 1 pm - 5 pm and have been instructed not to speak with media...(but their families can.)

this is totally out of control...... i'm going to say that this is definitely being done to see how far these control freaks can go. i'm wondering if the public has thought about doing a large invasive 'citizens' arrest' of the police chief and the remaining 4 officers. turn the tables, so-to-speak. i'm interested to see if the state does anything. especially if there are RICO violations.

These ''police'' are corrupt, go and remove them by force, put them in their own cells and have them tried.
Stop waiting for someone else to do it.

Treat someone with courtesy and respect until they play up and there is a good chance they will treat you like that too.

Because I insist that the merry men act with honour, the security treat us well.
They greeted me and we had a chat.
I prefer to treat them as honourable and let them prove themselves either way.

Escalation in Arizona: Firearms confiscated
Judge orders stunning action after councilman called 'turd'

Residents of the Arizona town that has become a YouTube sensation after police forcibly removed a woman speaking at a recent public meeting are now experiencing firearms confiscation by the government.

The stunning action is taking place in Quartzsite, Ariz., where Town Councilman Joe Winslow has prompted the seizure of guns from local gem dealer and online entrepreneur Michael Roth because Roth allegedly glared at the councilman, blocked his entrance to Town Hall and called him a "turd."

for the life of me, I can't figure out what the two videos are saying.
is it proposing that the 'jones arrest video' was shot in a 'studio'?
if so, that's ridiculous or am I missing some larger, more obscure point?
