THIS CAME IN THE EMAIL TODAY:
"Hacking murdered children's phones, paying off police, destroying evidence of crimes, threatening politicians -- MPs are saying the Murdoch empire has "entered the criminal underworld". But Murdoch is still calling the shots and could still get the BSkyB prize.
Yesterday, he pulled a cunning manoeuvre at the last hurdle, meaning regulators will review the deal solely on plurality, not the outrageous immorality of his company's practices. But British law says media owners must be "fit and proper" to be trusted with broadcast licenses. If we demand that now, we can influence the debate tomorrow in Parliament and kill the deal once and for all.
People power has brought this deal to its knees -- our 160,000 letters last week were critical in getting the deal referred to the Competition Commission. But we cannot stop now: the hacking scandal is our best chance in a generation to end Murdoch's reign of fear and smear over our democracy. Let's make sure Cameron and Hunt immediately ensure the BSkyB deal is assessed on whether Murdoch is "fit and proper" to be given half our country's commercial media. Click to sign the urgent petition and forward this email to everyone -- we have just 24 hours until the Parliamentary debate:
http://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_the_murdoch_mafia_2/?vl
Murdoch's media -- From the News of the World to the Sun to the Sunday Times -- has corrupted our society, our politics and our police. His staff have listened in to grieving widows of soldiers who died in Iraq, a war that Murdoch's global media empire promoted. They stole a sitting Prime Minister's bank information and his family's medical records, and hacked into the phones, computers and homes of thousands of people. They paid the police for information, and got the first hacking investigation stopped after meeting senior officers. And James Murdoch approved cheques to hush up victims who threatened action -- a criminal obstruction of justice.
As the Murdoch empire's vile dealings have been uncovered, he has fought back to try to save his lucrative BSkyB TV deal. First, he pulled the News of the World. Then, yesterday, he surprised Jeremy Hunt at the last minute by withdrawing his proposed undertakings for Sky News, forcing Hunt to refer the deal to the Competition Commission and buying time for the political temperature to cool to ensure the deal he so badly wants is judged only on market share, not his company's criminality.
So far the Murdochs have been protected by fear. They run smear campaigns against their enemies, threatening the career of any politician who challenges them. But the fear is melting away, and for the first time our politicians could take steps to stop him, by ruling Murdoch unfit to own our media and forcing him to give up control of his empire in the UK. Tomorrow Parliament could make this move -- it's a breathtaking chance to improve British media and democracy in one fell swoop -- let's bring a massive outcry to achieve it:
http://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_the_murdoch_mafia_2/?vl
It won't be easy. When the hacking scandal broke in earnest a few months ago, David Cameron spent much of his Christmas week socializing with Murdoch executives. Murdoch's mafia power extends deep into our government. But together we have already pushed this deal to the limit -- now let's bury it. But if we act fast now, the government and regulators will have to subject this deal to the fullest public interest tests - which it simply cannot pass.
With hope,

Dear Friends,
Hacking murdered children's phones, paying off police, destroying evidence of crimes, threatening politicians -- MPs are saying the Murdoch empire has "entered the criminal underworld". But Murdoch is still calling the shots and could still get the BSkyB prize.

Beautiful!!!! I went to that site and literally every second is a new signature!!!!!! If we can take out Murdock, it would be a step in the right direction. That is a good law, the fit and proper to be in power. I find that quite good. If only we had that clause everywhere, and the truth came out. Would be amazing :)

I couldn't help but have a peep at what Tina Brown might have to say about the Murdoch scandal.
In 1984 I met her and her husband Harolf Evans (now Sir Harold)
while they were vacationing in Barbados. Both of them are high up on my heroes list.
Harry Evans had been editor of the Sunday Times
when Murdoch bought The Times, and they locked horns immediately,
Harry being a high ethics man while Murdoch was always zero ethics.
The strategy Murdoch used to get rid of Harold Evans without firing him outright
was to transfer him to the Times, which meant he was suddenly faced with a staff of strangers,
while before he had had the total loyalty of the Sunday Times staff, having worked there for 14 years.
Within a year things became intolerable and Harry Evans was forced to resign.
He wrote his book "Good Times, Bad Times" about his run-in with Murdoch.
I was already then aware of Murdoch's much darker agenda.
Harry called him a gangster, but I tried to convince him that the Murdoch agenda was
much worse than that, it was about more than just money and greed,
it had been about the deliberate dumbing-down process of the masses,
a deliberate feed-back of negativity, scandal, indecency, painting the world as dark as possible
so that people would soon sink into slave mentality...
all with the aim of world control, which we all have witnessed during these last few decades.
In those days I was the only conspiracy theorist I knew...I was certainly the only one in Barbados.
Tina Brown and Harry Evans had to cut short their vacation
as that same week Tina got the offer to become editor of Vanity Fair,
which prompted them to leave England for good.
They have been living in NY ever since.
Harry must now be in his eighties, and I for one am very happy for him
that after all these years of Murdoch's power increasing
he is now getting what he deserves.

I think's it's wishful thinking to believe Murdoch will or can be removed totally from the Media.
He has tons of cash and once the Public has forgotten about him he will use all this cash to maintain his grip and will no doubt try and get revenge on those who shined this light on him.

Thanks Ktlight ......Great if it happens..............The trouble is as you say Cameron may already be in his pocket.......I heard a couple of days ago on the radio that Ed Milliband had a 'social' meeting with Murdoch recently....probably to do with the Bilderbergs ? Now Ed is 'Head Honsho' of the Labour party......Murdoch 'The King Maker' was probably deciding wether to back him like he did Blair. Or destroy him like he did Kinnock far to much power imho...
Who knows what was taped there ......As we know from scull & Bones , power is all about Black mail .......To break this cycle it will take a generation of polititions to fall on their swords so to speak , and have something never achieved before 'GENUINE DEMOCRACY' Still a very long way to go, but a start ....cheers Steve

In a way, though this is great news, I feel there is a much larger game at play here.
As has been said, Murdoch is 'too big to fail' now, and will still get BskyB (though I am not sure what underhanded tricks he will use to get it), and the way i see it at least, is, this is just trimming the fat for him. Get rid of the obsolete newspaper, and move to digital. Larger consumption, more control.

Hopefully this will be the beginning of the end of Murdock's power, as people will try to avoid to be associated with him, as this scandal grows.
The king is dead – long live democracy. With the immolation of the News of the World last week, we saw the end of the pre-eminent political influence of the last three decades in Britain. Rupert Murdoch‘s pass to Number 10 has been withdrawn; the access code for his editors and senior executives has expired. All the unseen deal-making, fixing, manipulation and bullying, as well as that princely sense of entitlement emanating from News International headquarters at Wapping, have gone.
These are very big gains from the events ignited by the revelation that Milly Dowler‘s phone messages were hacked and deleted by the private inquiry agents working for the News of the World, as she lay dead. Faced with that singularly disgusting act, the nation drew a line: this is not who we are; we won’t support those responsible by buying their product; nor will we advertise in that newspaper or tolerate those who do.
It was a lightning revolt with a whiff of the Arab Spring about it, in that the anger was directed at the power of an elderly dynast and his closest associates. There is a feeling of liberation at the end of this highly charged week and we can say that our society seems better off: our political system is freer and, I would suggest, a little bit cleaner; relations between the media, politicians and the public have changed for the good.
The door has shut on Murdoch. Party leaders and backbenchers, from Nicholas Soames to Alan Johnson, won’t have him back.

Murdoch pulls out of bid for BSkyB
The Australian July 14, 2011
RUPERT Murdoch last night bowed to pressure from a united British political establishment and withdrew his cherished pound stg. 8 billion bid to buy the UK's top commercial broadcaster BSkyB.
In one of his biggest political defeats, the Australian-born proprietor abandoned what would have been the biggest and most lucrative takeover of his 58-year media career.
The decision came after all major UK political parties had agreed to a House of Commons motion urging Mr Murdoch's news Corporation to drop the bid following revelations of criminal behaviour at his New of the World newspaper and an alleged cover-up by his British executives.
Prime Minister David Cameron said last night that he was launching a judicial inquiry into wrongdoing by the firm and by police officers, and pledged new transparency in all contacts between government leaders and media executives.
Mr Cameron said the powerful inquiry headed by Court of Appeal judge Brian Leveson would also change the media regulation landscape and look into cross-media ownership, a clear blow to the ambitions of Mr Murdoch, who already owns several newspaper and 39 per cent of BSkyB.

This has not been mentioned on Avalon. I think this may have been overlooked. This should go into the ELITE'S SUICIDE THREAD.
Amschel Rothschild, the man many believed would be the prestigious Rothschild Bank’s next leader, hanged himself in a Paris luxury hotel, on June 12th 2011.
Rothschild’s body was found by a cleaning lady Monday in his room at the Hotel Bristol, not far from the presidential Elysee Palace, the Paris daily Le Parisien said. Rothschild, 41, was widely expected to take over the British merchant bank N.M. Rothschild and Sons and the publishing empire.
Now there are claims that he may have been suicided.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Amschel Mayor James Rothschild (18 April 1955 – 8 July 1996) was a businessman.
Rotshchild was born in Paris, the youngest child of Victor Rothschild and his second wife, Teresa Georgina Rothschild (née Mayor). On his father's side, he descended from the Rothschild family. His maternal grandfather, Robert John Grote Mayor, was the brother of English novelist F. M. Mayor and a greatnephew of philosopher and clergyman John Grote. His maternal grandmother, Katherine Beatrice Meinertzhagen, was the sister of soldier Richard Meinertzhagen and the niece of author Beatrice Webb.[1][2] He was educated at The Leys School and graduated from City University in 1976, where he read economics, history and archaeology. His initial vocation was in journalism, as a circulation manager of the now defunct literary magazine, The New Review.[citation needed]
In 1987, Rothschild joined the family banking firm, N M Rothschild & Sons. By 1990 he was made chief executive of one of the Rothschild's weaker assets, Rothschild Asset Management. In 1993, he became Chairman of the firm, helping to steer it onto a more stable path.[citation needed]
He was not heavily interested in banking. One of his favourite pastimes was farming. Rothschild had inherited an arable farm, Rushbrooke, near Bury St. Edmunds where he spent many hours at work. He was also a keen racer of cars, and was known as one of the best amateur racers in the country. His passion started when he acquired a scrambler motorcycle, at age thirteen. In later life, he got into motor racing, and was the winner of the Peter Collins Memorial Trophy Race at Silverstone in 1996. Among his car collection was an AC Cobra Daytona sports car, a 1957 Maserati 250F Formula I, and a 1958 BRM P25 Formula I.
Rothschild was also a trustee of Hanadiv, the Rothschild foundation which has supported many projects in Israel.

Rebekah Brooks could be headed for Australia
http://images.theage.com.au/2011/07/14/2492306/rebekah-brooks-lead-300x340.jpg
The former editor of the disgraced News of the World tabloid may head to Australia to take over one of Rupert Murdoch's local interests, British press are speculating.
News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks, who was editor of News of the World from 2000 to 2003, is expected to quit next week following questioning over her role in the phone hacking scandal by a Commons committee.
London's Telegraph today reported she may be sent Down Under by Murdoch, who has stood by Brooks despite calls for her to quit.
Murdoch's Australian division, News Limited, owns most of the country's newspapers including the Herald Sun, the Daily Telegraph and The Australian.
In the wake of the British scandal, News Limited has announced an audit of its newspapers, to ensure journalistic practices are clean.
News Limited chairman John Hartigan has said he does not believe any Australian outlets have engaged in the rogue methods used by some News of the World staff.

Good bye and good riddance...
Rupert Murdoch has capitulated to parliament and abandoned News Corporation's £8bn bid for BSkyB, as he faced the prospect of appearing in front of a judicial public inquiry to salvage his personal reputation and the right for his company to continue to broadcast in the UK.
After 10 days of sustained public outcry over phone hacking, and facing the prospect of a unanimous call by MPs to withdraw his bid for total ownership of the broadcaster, Murdoch succumbed at a morning board meeting in Wapping.
Company insiders indicated Murdoch was not making a tactical retreat and that a future bid for total control of BSkyB was now unlikely. The media giant said it was likely to "deploy our capital elsewhere" to avoid any more damaging battles in the UK. The News Corp deputy chairman, Chase Carey, said the bid had become "too difficult to progress in this climate".

NOW PIERS MORGAN IS DRAGGED INTO SCANDAL
http://images.dailyexpress.co.uk/img/dynamic/1/285x214/258441_1.jpg
Piers Morgan was sacked for publishing fake pictures of British troops “abusing” Iraqi prisoners
PIERS Morgan was drawn into the phone hacking row last night after being “exposed” on the internet over a Fleet Street scoop.
Six years ago, before his successful television career, Piers Morgan was sacked for publishing fake pictures of British troops “abusing” Iraqi prisoners.
Internet blogger Paul Staines, who uses the pen name Guido Fawkes, has now linked an award wining scoop from 2002 to phone hacking.
Guido Fawkes continues: “The paper’s editor at the time, one Piers Morgan, was receiving flak for the fact that his 3AM Girls gossip section was dire rubbish and lacked any bite compared to Morgan’s old Bizarre column in News International’s Sun. Morgan decided to let 3AM Girl Jessica Callan break the illegally obtained story under her byline in order to try and rid the column of its banal reputation.”
He claimed the original reporter was sent on an expensive holiday while the 3AM Girls received the “Scoop of the Year” at the British Press Awards.
Morgan originally rose to prominence on the Sun’s Bizarre column before becoming editor of the News of the World. News International insiders claim both Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson owe their careers to him as he took them under his wing.

Tonight o ABC, Diane Sawyer said Murdoch's holdings such as Fox Network, 20 Century Fox, etc
Murdoch has been at the head of News Corp and its Australian predecessors since 1952, and he and his family have maintained an iron grip on the company ever since. Yet, citing two anonymous sources, Bloomberg writes that people within the company "have begun questioning the company’s response to the crisis and whether a leadership change is needed."
Despite his making move after move to contain it, the phone hacking scandal surrounding Murdoch shows no signs of letting up. If anything, the scandal has only gotten worse, as it has engulfed Scotland Yard and threatens Murdoch's American holdings. In addition, Murdoch, his son James and his former top British deputy Rebekah Brooks all face what is sure to be a highly uncomfortable session before Parliament on Tuesday, in which their collective claim not to have known about the massive phone-hacking operation at their biggest British newspaper will be put to the test.
Murdoch himself seemed to personify the puzzlingly slow response to the scandal when he claimed that News Corp had only made "minor mistakes" in its handling of things. Since then, the company has hired a top PR agency and quickly set about making far more public displays of contrition. However, it may not be enough to save Murdoch.
One scenario that has been discussed in the press recently is for him to become chairman of News Corp, with COO Chase Carey assuming the mantle of CEO. This would sideline James Murdoch, who many see as too tainted by the hacking scandal to credibly become the new CEO of the company.

Murdoch has been pulling the strings of the Uk and Us governments for the last 20 years. He is closely allied with the Rothschild family and is perhaps the most powerful and evil man on earth. Its no surprise that the main witness to the phone hacking scandal has suddenly committed 'suicide'.
This clip gives some insight into who exactly he is and what he's been up to all these years-
