Screaming match confronts Gillard

A FIERY slanging match between shoppers outside a Brisbane supermarket has overrun Prime Minister Julia Gillard's campaign to sell her government's carbon tax.

"It's running our small businesses down the drain mate," he said. "Think about it."

As the drama played out around her, Ms Gillard continued chatting to people sitting outside a kebab shop.

She then introduced herself to Mrs Sottile, trying to joke about the confrontation.

"We've created some excitement in the shops," she said.

Mrs Sottile told reporters she was "sick to death" of hearing what she believed was misinformation about the new tax.

"All you hear are people who are ignorant, who know nothing about the package, who know nothing about climate change, spouting their views and putting them on other people," she said.

Ms Brown, who was wielding a sign that read: "Most incompetent government since Whitlam", told reporters she felt Australians were being led astray.

"I've never been in a protest in my life, I wasn't even in a protest at university," the Brookfield woman said.

"I honestly believe that she doesn't have a mandate, I really strongly believe that, and I believe the Australian people want to have a say on this issue."

Shortly before the encounter, the Prime Minister had been confronted by another woman, who refused to give her name, who asked: "Why did you LIE to us?’’ and criticised her handling of the carbon tax issue.

Though there was no time for questions from the media, 100 uncommitted Queensland voters will have the chance to put their concerns to the Prime Minister tonight in The Courier-Mail/Sky News People’s Forum at Customs House.

Ms Gillard is in Brisbane for a people's forum on the carbon tax package, announced on Sunday.

Two shoppers argue about carbon tax in front of PM Julia Gillard

UPDATE 12.05pm: A FIERY slanging match between shoppers outside a Brisbane supermarket has overrun Prime Minister Julia Gillard's campaign to sell her government's carbon tax.

Ros Brown, who describes herself as an ordinary housewife, drove across town when she heard Ms Gillard would be touring Fairfield Gardens shopping centre today.

As Ms Gillard greeted shoppers in the flood-hit suburb, Ms Brown began screaming about her lack of a mandate, sparking a heated exchange with another shopper.

Gabrielle Sottile, who said she was from a fourth-generation Labor family, heard Ms Brown's shouts as she emerged from Coles, and started yelling back.

"She does have a mandate, she has our mandate, she might not have yours," she shouted, with two other shoppers piping up in support.

A young man, whose name is not known, joined the fray, saying Ms Brown had a right to protest.

Ms Gillard is in Brisbane for a people's forum on the carbon tax package, announced on Sunday.

The fiery exchange came as Labor accused Opposition Leader Tony Abbott of running a sham Victorian public forum on the carbon tax, after residents claimed they were blocked from attending.

The event to be held in Frankston today was advertised as a “community forum to discuss the carbon tax” featuring Tony Abbott and Member for Dunkley Bruce Billson.

Flyers asked interested people to RSVP by Tuesday.

But when Labor party member Alison Ogden, 78, called to accept the invitation, she was told the forum was full.

Another Labor party member and Bonbeach resident, Maureen Lim, was also told the forum was booked out.

La Trobe Labor MP Laura Smyth said several constituents had complained about being unable to have a say.

She said people had told her venue organisers had been told not to fill the venue “for security reasons”.

“This has all the appearances of a climate sceptic’s closed shop,” Ms Smyth said.

“Mr Abbott was out there again yesterday claiming he was going to be ‘as open and accessible to the Australian people as he could possibly be’ and yet he won’t face a crowded room.

“Mr Abbott needs to explain why the venue management was told to shut up shop early, effectively denying many Melbourne residents the chance to ask questions of the Opposition.”

Mrs Ogden said she was still trying to work out the details of the carbon tax and the opposition’s plan, and would like to attend a forum.

“I am going to go down and see if I can go in,” Mrs Ogden said.

“It seems a bit funny to advertise it and then I can’t get in. Everybody is trying to make up their mind and here’s a chance to hear someone and what they have got to say.”

Tells how Global warming/climate change is a complete manufacture. People with their heads in their arses ought to be pointed in that direction.

“In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite we came up with the idea of pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.”

The close to 2000 atomic bombs governments have set off since WW2 may well account for melting icebergs and ozone holes. Not people using too much electricity.
What a sick joke. I'd laugh if it didn't make me feel more like spewing.

The forum hasn't even started yet and I'm already thinking I won't be able to stomach it. They have an 'undecided' audience - which means an audience who hasn;t got a clue.

And the heads being talked to now are talking about the 'perceived' lie, which must be different from the complete lie that JG told about there being no carbon tax under her government.

It's just going to be a whole lot of political bullsh*t .
Here we go for a bit of masochsim, then.

Edit to add:

I'm sooo glad that's over.

My brain feels dirty.

Agreed Teakai,

It was tough to watch the LIAR in action, I was really hoping someone would have really given her a mouthful...

Then again Who Knows what goes throgh the Questioner's mind when they are Live on National TV Program...

I wish I could have been there to ask a question and give JuLIAR a piece of my mind...Hell it would have been ugly!!!

At least 5 Questioners asked her to valiate Why She LIED, which she just rattle on about another LIE that she's making the Tough decisions on behalf of the Country? Without a Mandate, I might add!

Geezus, I wish I had the chance to meet her Face to Face, Look her right in the eyes and tell her "She is a LIAR and a DISGRACE to our so called Democracy!

The 'ONLY' good thing that her Lying has achieved is provoking everyday Aussies to educate themselves on the Carbon Tax and its Impact..!

Boy 'o' Boy, if they only knew what's really coming down the turnpike in the future? If they did she would'nt get off so lightly!

PS - Gillard is a 'LAME GREEN DUCK' PM without a Mandate!

If it 'Talks like a Duck & Walks like a Duck' its a Duck..!

Have you ever tried to pin a politician down in public?
On tv is worse, they would never have allowed you to upset their apple cart.

I tell my wife from time to time that if given the opportunity to interview ANY major politician in a public forum, I could have them ready to stroke out, or stomp off in a huff within 5 minutes. Just give me 24 hours to research whatever poor unsuspecting soul it might be. Of course Lord Sidious is right, that would never be allowed to happen.

It sure is a nice fantasy though...

Cheers,
Fred

My concern is that Julia is a sacrifice to an even worse agenda.

Is it to destroy the greens?

Is it to create discourse and derail the Aussie public?

Is it an emotional shock in the vein of "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars"

What ?

The woman does not stand a chance for any kind of re-election in my view. Sacrifice! But to what end?

What has really been achieved?

What is behind the plan behind the plan?

I still cant work it out.

Carbon tax has no logic. Why does the government think anyone will be taken in?

Do they need us to protest to further some agenda.

This got me beat.

I think time will tell.

During Maggie Thatcher's day, she was challenged on prime time main TV by an ordinary woman about the sinking of the Belgrano during the Falklands War. She obviously didn't like it and behaved ominously, but she had to tolerate it. It may well have happened because the TV companies would have been informed about the imminent event. I know the idea had been implanted some weeks before it happened.

Was it on the bbc?
They would love that if it was, as you would know, they are ''left wing'' in their sympathies.
Even if it were not, maggies time was probably up and so they allowed that to show her in a negative light.
More strings of puppets being pulled.

In May 1983, Thatcher appeared on Nationwide, a live television show on BBC One, where Diana Gould questioned her about the sinking, claiming that the ship was already west of the Falklands and heading towards the Argentinian mainland to the west. Gould also claimed that the Peruvian peace proposal must have reached London in the 14 hours between its publication and the sinking of the Belgrano, and the escalation of the war could have thus been prevented. In the following, emotional exchange, Thatcher answered that the vessel was a threat to British ships and lives and denied that the peace proposal had reached her.[21] After the show, Thatcher's husband Denis lashed out at the producer of the show in the entertainment suite, saying that his wife had been "stitched up by bloody BBC poofs and Trots."[22] Thatcher herself commented during the interview "I think it could only be in Britain that a prime minister was accused of sinking an enemy ship that was a danger to our navy, when my main motive was to protect the boys in our navy."

G'Day Anchor,

I think you maybe giving both Labor and the Greens, way too much credit!

Rudd with a 60%+ approval was knifed in the back and replaced by Foolya Joolya, both are NWO Globalists Cronies who are only too happy to sell our Country down the toilet! Exactly as they have done since gaining power in 2007.

Like it or not they are stuck with Gillard, there is simply no-one else they can fall back on.

They are Destroying our Country on Purpose and its all tied into the NWO Globalists plan for a One World Govt. and Currency!

i.e. Australia has NEVER had...

So much debt borrowings of $100 million every day have put the Australian economy in a highly vulnerable position.
Instability due to Waste, Pink Batts, BER, NBN, etc
So much depenency on China for growth and Open the Floodgates on Foreign Ownership and Immigration
A KNOWN US Spy (Mark Ahbib)
Former Unionists going against the Workforce they used to represent
Such a Corrupt and Incapable bunch running the shop, etc, etc, etc......

Both Labor & The Greens have been totally infiltrated by the UN NWO Globalist Ideology!

They are setting us up for a MASSIVE Collapse if they continue to get their way!

The Fine Tuning will been done at the next Corrupt G20 Meeting

...and Don't be Suprised if they start 'Floating The Idea' of a worldwide "Tobin Tax" (Tax on ALL Worldwide Financial Transactions) with the EXCUSE being "After the Economic Collapse of Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain & the US" we have to now help out on a Global Level and the members of the G20 are investigating to possibility of a Tobin Tax!

Decades of Planning have gone into this and EVERY Australian Govt. has played their role. Period!

However everywhere you turn the NWO Globalist Octopus has its tenticles wrapped around everything

i.e. Labor, Greens, Independents, Councils, Beureacracy, Think Tanks, MSM, RBA (YOU BLOODY NAME IT) they have all bases covered..!!!

They are ON TRACK and they will NEVER let up, unless enough Aussies Wake Up and take a Stand..! Which we are slowly starting to see with their stand against the Carbon Tax.

JuLIAR Gillard is FINISHED PERIOD! As I have said before on many occassions "Australians Hate Liars" and no matter what Labor says or does between now and the next election THEY ARE FINISHED!

Even worse than Labor's landslide defeat in NSW...

...and Both the Greens & Independents will have NOWHERE left to hide.

When it comes down to the 'CRUNCH' Dictitorial US Politics does'nt work Down Under!
