Greeting's my fellow Avalonians,

With the wonderful opportunity in starting anew here at Avalon, I would like to extend my friendship to all members. I was rasied too be a social team player, and love interactions with all humanbeings. I realize it is difficult for some to reach out to others, so maybe here we can drop all the social protocols and become more uninhibited towards each other and create a community mind-set of being one in many. I hope and pray~ we can all reach out too each other and bring the community spirit here up a few levels.
I would like to hear what other members feel in these regards?

Much love too all<>gio

white and red roses signify Unity and Togetherness..

another approach is

White = all that is pure, the divine..
Red = Passion and desire.

Red and white = the desire for purity, passion for the divine experience.

:)

I also believe open honesty, and a friendly welcome are the best introductions to give someone who is new here. Friendship and interest in others experiences, toleration of others differences and celebration of those differences.

After all, the world would be hellishly boring if we were all of the same opinion and level of development. We may all be one at the core, but it's a big prism we all shine through and a mighty rainbow that has been cast over this planet.

Thank you both for your post and comments
and for helping me break the ice here :thank_you2:

My first and only other signature that i've ever used at the Avalon forum
was a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson

it always remindered me what was most important :caked:

You've Got A Friend (in Me)

You've got a friend
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend(you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me

When you're down and troubled
And you need some loving care
And nothing no is going right
Close your eyes and think of me, ooh
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights, yeah

You just call out my name,
And you know where-ever I am
I'll come running, yeah
To see you again
Don't you know that
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yes I will
You've got a friend.

You've got a friend
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me

Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Take your very soul if you let them.
So don't let them, no

You just call out my name, and you know where-ever I am
I'll come running yes, to see you again, yeah
Don't you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
All you've got to do is call.
And I'll be there, yes I will
And I'll be there, yes I will
And I'll be there, yes I will
You've got a friend

You've got a friend (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend (you've got a friend)
You've got a friend in me

Thank you all again~ for kindly responding here.
For me personnally this past year has been about learning some very profound heartfelt lessons.
I'd like to believe now~ I can come too realize- see and experience ~ my only true desire and intent now~ in assisting with lifting the vibrational levels up upon this beautiful planet~ we all share and live upon. Join me in making this part of your universal spiritual intent from now on.

Gio, what you are doing is the way to become united and closer. This is the way our children shows us everyday. The little kids have so much to teach in this regard.

I remember a couple of friends who had a young girl and were living in the amazon jungle with us. It was a hard experience for them, but not for the little girl. She made so many friends in a couple days. And really was a magnet to attract more good people in the parents proximity.

So here I follow your call and extend my friendship to all Avalonians. You are all invited to my Big Party!!! :jester:

Come the highs or come the lows, come the storms or the sunny days, through thick and thin we the Avalonian community are still here. Your friendship is like the rays of the early morning sun shining on our faces. May our lives continue to be enriched by your presence in this world and may we meet again in the next.

Only recently I made some videos that are a bit unlike all other COA videos. Like this one concerning my father, a Vietnam vet whom I never met in the flesh. See video description and comments for further info.
ApocalypseNow/Dire Straights(The Man's Too Strong)
*Actually maybe I shouldn't post what some may consider being such a violent video here. It's on my You tube page though if you really want to see.

Speaking of possibly stealing the copy rights of other peoples work (kidding) I made a video concerning RS or Reverse Speech. Thing is, I did it to Kerry and Bill as my first RS victims.
Reverse speech of Bill & Kerry: part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g01ULV7qS4w

I have so many other videos concerning who I am (my interests, experiences, ideas, concepts and such). All of which concern a simple ways to offer awareness to others. Take what you now know about me... filter it all through your open mind & heart and higher self (god/universe). Then see what happens. If we can be closer friends then so be it. If not, then at least we can see eye to eye and agree to disagree at. If not, well... lol I dunno.. But I was on a roll there fer a second, yes?

It is hard to tell if the new forum, will measure up to the (now) old forum?
I would like to believe this new meeting place, is a natural and ongoing progression of the original.
I am hopeful though, that those who were just visitors and guest in the past
would now come forth and join and contribute here~
only time will tell?

I've been on many forums - GLP until it was sold out - and many of the splinter forums that occurred after 'The Christmas Massacre' at GLP. I used to post all the time at many forums from 1997 until 2005 - when I went silent. During the interval I've gone through a Dark Night of the Soul where I questioned everything I had ever learned - from Religion to aliens - dimensions and densities - light and dark - and now I have come out the other side a bit more cautious about what I believe. Project Camelot and the videos and transcripts have helped me begin to THINK again - and to take what works and leave the rest. I hope to contribute to this forum in a positive way. Since I became disabled I have much more time to think and write. I have quite a bit of experience regarding abductions, aliens, densities/dimensions, and a plethora of other subjects I'd like to share in a positive and helpful atmosphere. I have been attacked by the best (hence my silence for the last five years) but I have decided: NO MORE SILENCE! I hope to share what I have learned over the years here in a safe place. I was deeply involved in the Cassiopaen Saga from 1997 until about 2003 and would like to talk about that experience. Not only what the C's had to say from 1994 until 2000 when it all went to hell - in my humble opinion - which happened when MONEY became involved.

Thank you for the offer of friendship - I accept! (c:

Hi there Gio,
Thanks sooo much for beginning this thread! It would be in the best interest of this fresh new site to definately carry on in a peaceful and loving environment. I say YES lets continue to lift
one another up at all times. By doing so we automatically in turn lift ourselves up. That is just how it works. So whenever we are feeling out of sorts or somewhat dare I say it...down, the
best way to lift ourselves out of it is to go and be the best friend we can to another, and lift them up. We will automatically feel the lifting effects as well :)
I am excited for this new Avalon. Let our LIGHT shine brightly.

Thanks Carol! Those were the days - before E sold out and Tavistock took over as a social experiment. (c: I joined all the splinter groups such as Ego Central, Proxy Whore, and FreedomCrowsNest, etc. I was never really comfortable at any of them, but the Nest came closest. Quite a few people went to Keith Laney's Hidden Mission forum as well - as did I - and on a side note Richard Hoagland posted today on Facebook that the NEW images of Phobos - showing that it is a 20 mile long space ship - posted at Hidden Mission resulted in Keith's site being immediately taken down - some of it is back up but the forum is gone!

I wonder often whatever happened to Zack Tull? !!

Not sure what happened to Zack. Yes, I was at the other forums as well and at the Nest until banned when I got into an argument with the forum owner about her reading member's PMs. She had shared that she did this with someone I knew and trusted (now passed over) who later shared it with me. The odd thing now is that she doesn't even enjoy her own forum and doesn't participate that much. I was banned from GLP so many times it felt like being a ping pong ball. And then GLP contaminated my computer with spyware and totally toasted/fried my computer. It cost me thousands.. failed repairs and then purchasing a new system. Fie on GLP and its minions. (evil laughter... )

Greeting's Avalonians,
I am very pleased to see things picking up here at the new Avalon forum. Lots of members registering everyday. During this time of change as we emerge from the recent chaos of this transition, many of us need to take a long needed break. Now is an excellent time and opportunity, for those that find themselves charged and ready to go~ too step in and fill any voids here at Avalon. I plan now to just step back and enjoy the company of all the wonderfully varied individual friends~ that I have made here. I am hoping they will take us all somewhere anew~ in our continuous quest towards truth and enlightenment.

Thank Gio for the offer of Friendship. I was a member on the old forum since Sept. 08. Looked in almost everyday followed links, listened to interviews, soaked it all in but did post much.
I find it a little intimidating to post when I see the long, eloquent posts made by some members. Hopefully I will be moved to chime in more often on A2.
Cheers!

Greeting's enightenme~
:thank_you2: thank you for your freindship
It makes me feel wonderful when an Avalon member finds their voice and begins to contribute and share with us all here on the forum. I have noticed that whenever one speak from the heart instead of the mind, the results are more prolific in spirit and the content usually resonates at a more profound intellectual level.

Here is a wonderful essay that expands on this;

There is a different feeling, a different vibration when someone speaks through their heart instead of their mind. Our minds can know boundless and endless amounts of information. But our minds are also judgmental and critical and impulse based. But when we speak through our heart it is like the Universe speaks through us. We transcend our small self and take from a much wider and older knowledge base.
There is an actual different feeling of when one is speaking through their mind as compared to their heart. For me I can tell because when it is from my mind I feel tension in my body. But when I am coming from somewhere different, somewhere deeper, I do not feel my body tense at all.

The same can be said of when I listen to people speak. When they force their point of view onto me or convince me of something I can feel the tension off of their body. But when someone comes to me from their heart it is as if there is no tension in the room between us. Speaking from the heart transcends the ego and the barriers that reside between us. But often times when someone speaks from their heart it brings up the barriers and resistance in others for many and various reasons.

Man needs to start to speak and live through his and her heart more than the limited, fragmented mind. Yes the mind has created much of the outside world, but it is a foreigner to the world that resides inside below the brainstem. There is much to be explored internally and developing this body awareness or body knowledge can help to unlock different ways of living and thinking.

The outer world can be looked at as the steel frame and the outside shell of a building. But what goes on inside can not be seen from the outside with the naked eye. There is so much life that pulses within a tall sky scraper and only a small percentage is reflected into the outside world. The same can be said of us as individuals. Others can only see a small perception of who we are. We are limited by the confines of the material and visible world. We are limited by the confines that the ego places upon the mind. Yet each of us is a complex and highly complicated and delicate piece of machinery, piece of art work. We focus so much on the outer shell of our being that we have not a clue how to utilize all of our untapped potential the way the Universe intended for us.

Often times the thoughts and actions that come out of the mind are shallow, greedy, selfish and impulsive. While the thoughts and actions that come out of the heart are more giving, sharing and give off a sense of community. Speaking through the heart is in the sense thinking of others as much as ourselves. It is about considering and getting glimpses of the bigger picture.

Years ago a teacher told me that I needed to start to live in my body more. I had no idea, no clue what he was talking about. It has been only through my own training, my own experience that these words have gone from being seeds to blossoming deeper within. I understand this now more than I used to. There is much to learn as the learning never ends.

Developing self awareness is difficult indeed. It often times goes against the grain of what we are taught growing up. But the truth of our reality is something that goes beyond the grasp of the knowledge of the mind and encompasses so much more. Living in the body by developing the breath is what it is about-these are the keys to the engine of the higher mind. But these are only words and words are not successful in describing what each one of us can experience eventually. Words are only a best guess at that time. We are all here to unravel the mystery that is us, that is life. This life that is all around us and inside of us begs to be looked at and lived from a different angle, a different perspective.

“To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.”

Greeting's Avalonians,

During this life, I have been bless with the gift of being able to make friends easily. That said, I have come to realize with that blessing comes much work and responsibilities in nurturing and maintaining these bonds. I like to share a short story (tale) associated to the great Greek master of wisdom~Socrates

A True Friend
In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day one fellow met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?" ~ "Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test." ~ "Triple filter?" ~ "That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" ~ "No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..." ~ "All right," said Socrates. "So you don't know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?" ~ "No, on the contrary..." ~ "So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?" "No, not really." ~ "Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

My true rule and lesson~ when it comes to friends!
We can always participate in loose talks to curb our boredom. But when it comes to you friends its not worth it. Always avoid talking behind the back about your near and dear friends.

RAINBOWS

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you.
And share with you it's beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own.
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me,
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be...what I know best,
a friend that's always there.

Greeting's my Friends,
Found this analogy thought i'd share this with you today~ find its concept interesting~ if not suspect

"Why life is all about the downs - what the rollercoaster analogy really means!"

I'm sure you know the saying "Life is like a roller coaster". Usually what people mean by that is that life is full of ups and downs. Which obviously implies that the "ups" are those great times when everything is going fine and life is treating you well and the "downs" are the bad times in your life when things go terribly wrong and you're depressed...

Makes sense right? WRONG!

Here is why the roller coaster analogy is more powerful and true than I ever realized before:

You get on the roller coaster for the "downs" not the "ups"! That's not trivial. Because the "downs" are where all the fun & thrill is. You made your decision to take the ride in anticipation of the thrill you're going to experience during the accelerating ride down.

It's not even a 50/50 thing. It's not like both things are part of the fun on the ride. No. The "ups" are just a means to get to the point of riding down! You get that? Let me say it again: The "ups" are part of the way down!

Alright yes - you relax and enjoy the view during the "ups". You take a deep breath. You're heart rate is slowing down again a bit. You get ready for whats about to happen next. But that's it. That's all the "ups" have to offer to you.

A roller coaster that would only go up would be basically a very large and clumsy elevator...boring as hell..going in one direction...practical & functional maybe if you need to go to a meeting in the 26th floor...but for sure no fun!

And that's what life's supposed to really be I guess, a lot of fun & a hell of a ride down!"

Greeting's my Friends
:thank_you2:
For all the kind messages and post you all have blessed upon me. When i first started this thread, it was my only intent too help in initiating a friendly atmospheric environment for those~ first arriving (new and old) members. Now that the forum's membership ranks are steadily growing~ i've pondered and wondered whether to continue my (likened) wholesale friendship campaign? To some it might seem a bit egotisic or even silly, but after comtemplating this a few days, i've decided to still dedicate myself to this offer and gesture.

The reason for this decision is quite simple, during my younger school years i attended over a dosen different schools. The circumstances for this is not important now, but i still remember those dreaded first days, sometimes even having to transfer during the middle of a school year. Though it was uncomfortable (to say the least), those experiences however helped teach and encourage me to become a sensitive, compassionate and caring human being. Many times, i would befriend the newcomers myself, not out of sympathy, but in kinship~ for those of us who were oftened disenfranchised from truly being accepted into the whole.

Note, when i do offer my hand in friendship here on the forum, there are no strings attached, only my upmost sincerity and hope~ that it blossoms forth to the rest of the Avalon community.

i'd like to share this friendship story that reminded me of those often uncomfortable and difficult situations in the past, but that could end up being a true life~ blessings in disguised.

Whitney's Story
"There was a time when Whitney didn’t have a lot of friends. She was a bit shy and reserved. She never really wanted to be popular, but she did want to have someone to share secrets and laughs with. All through high school, though, she just slipped in and out of “light” friendships where she didn’t find a lot of comfort or companionship.

When it came time to go to college, Whitney was quite nervous. She was going to be rooming with someone she didn’t know and living in a town 300 miles away from home. There wouldn’t be a single person she knew in town. She had no idea how she was going to make friends in this new environment.

The first week of classes, something happened that changed Whitney’s life forever. In her English Composition class, she was asked (as were all the students) to share a little about herself. She told everyone where she called home and all of the other ordinary details that students share in such situations. The final question for each student was always the same: “What is your goal for this class?” Now, most of the students said it was to get a good grade, pass the class or something similar, but for some reason, Whitney said something entirely different. She said that her goal was to make just one good friend.

While most of the students sat in silence, one student came to Whitney and held out his hand and introduced himself. He asked if she would be his friend. The whole room was silent – all eyes focused on the Whitney and the hand extended just in front of her. She smiled and stretched her hand out to take his and a friendship was formed. It was a friendship that lasted all through college. It was a friendship that turned into a romance. It was a friendship that brought two people together in marriage."

Note, Whitney learned the power of asking for what she wanted, being honest and taking action.

Like many here on the forum, I have been experiencing a shift ( lots of changes and challenges) in my life recently. Sometimes it takes all my energy to just get through the daily drama during these often stressful and trying times. Here's a reminder and some pointers 'How to keep a Positive Attitude' ~ especially when you are going through a difficult time in your life or you are trying to get past years of habitual negative thoughts. Positive thinking is the key to having an optimistic outlook on life. You can keep a positive attitude, even when things aren't going smoothly in your life.

Reevaluate your situation. It's easy to think negative or pessimistic thoughts when something happens. However, when you think rationally about the facts instead of the fears, you can see a more positive side of things.

Fill your mind with positive things. Read encouraging, affirming books and listen to upbeat, happy music. Think about happy memories or things you have to look forward to rather than bad things that have happened or things you dread.

Continue to develop yourself spiritually. Research shows that those who are spiritual live longer and more satisfying lives.

Keep positive people in your life. Avoid people who have a negative mindset and surround yourself with people who are upbeat, spiritual and fun.

Practice positive thinking. Try not to let negative thoughts enter your atmosphere. Think instead of all the good things in your life, even if there aren't very many. Concentrate on your good features instead of your faults.

Learn something new, maybe consider taking up a new hobby, but most important~ get out and do things you love to do and enjoy yourself.

And most important~ laugh often~ watch a funny movie or hang out or talk with someone who you can be silly with. Laughter is a wonderful way and usually allows one to get into a positive mood.

Spiritual Friendships
By Meilena Hauslendale

As we walk along our paths in life, we will encounter several forms of friendships. There will be friends of convenience, friends by association, and friends of the heart. Friends out of convenience are friendships that you might have simply because you both are accessible to one another. These friendships are common in a work or school environment as people are united by place alone. You might even term these friendships as 'associates' instead of friends, because you associate with one another because you feel that you have to.
These types of friendships can easily disappear as quickly as they came or they can actually turn into more meaningful friendships as time moves on. Then there are friends by association, friendships that exist because of an association with another friend. You might acquire these forms of friendships because of your current friends. You acquire your friend's circle of companions and make them your own. These associations can lack strong foundations and even knowledge of one another, but either way, you respect them as a part of the friend that originated the encounter.

Then there are friendships that are few and far between, friends of the heart or friends of the spirit. You may find this form of friendship with, or in addition to, your significant other. This type of friendship is guided through a profound spiritual connection. They are very pronounced and spiritually ignited. They can overcome distance. They can surpass cultural and language barriers. They can surpass age and even gender.

They do not exist out of convenience or association. These friendships exist out of respect and purpose. This unity of beings connects our hearts to our souls. They remind us and encourage our greatness and contribute to our over all well-being. These friendships exist on the purest of levels. They are not sexually motivated. They do not even necessarily rely on the power of any physical contact. They exist on a level all of their own.

What these friendships do touch are our hearts. They leave precious imprints where they matter the most. These friendships are gifts unto themselves as they are aligned with our inner workings and details. They somehow give us comfort no matter what our state of mind and they seem to blanket our worries with little or no effort. They exist not out of force, but out of care.

These spiritual friendships allow us to actually feel the insides of another. They allow us that close of a connection that typically both people can feel the other's thoughts and emotions. We are attracted to them because we are intended to be. These friendships may baffle and surprise us as they can sneak up on us quickly, but they are friendships that need not go unnoticed and certainly not forgotten, for however long they are to stay.

Greeting's my Friends

One hard lesson~ I've (always) had to remind myself of was not to get too caught up in relationships (friendships) so much so that i begin to lose myself in them~ Beware of letting your natural desires hinder your walk in love before your God self. One of the cruelest ways to kill natural love is through the rejection that results from having built the love on natural desires.

To not sacrifice yourself for a friendship doesn't mean you need to not be a good friend. A good friend will actually make a friendship be a give and take relationship. There is no need for one friend
to sacrifice themselves and the other friend to do all the taking.

One way for you to not sacrifice yourself for friendship is to learn to say no. Some friends will continually ask you for favors, help and all sorts of things. Having your friends asking doesn't mean that you have to say yes. There are times that you can say no and your friendship can still be intact. How to not sacrifice yourself for friendship is to know that you can say no and your friend can ask someone else for the favor.

Helping out a friend once in awhile is how to be a good friend. But if you are doing more for one friend that any other and yourself included, then you need to change things so you are not sacrificing your self for the friendship.

One way to let a friend know that you cannot do everything for them and always put them ahead of you and your family, if you have a family, is to talk to your friend. Some friends don't realize that they are asking you to help so much. These friends are most understanding and will change the demands they put on you. Your friendship can stay as wonderful as it has been and you do not have to sacrifice yourself.

If when you talk to your friends, they are put out and seem to give you a guilt trip, try to be understanding, but keep your stand strong. You need to know that you have worth as a person and you do not need to sacrifice yourself for your friendship. There are some people that will use you no matter who you are. Try to explain that you want to help them out when they really need you, but you do not need to pick up their dry cleaning or whatever.

You want to know how to not sacrifice yourself for friendship and keep the friendship happy and harmonious. One thing that you can do is to offer to do what you know you can do for your friend before your friend asks you. This way you get to help a friend in a way they need the help and you get to not sacrifice yourself for friendship.

The key here is to offer to help out before your friend asks you. Then when you are asked to help but have other pressing engagements, you can say no and not feel like you never give your friend the time your friendship needs. Your friend, if he or she is a true friend, will understand that you can't always be at their beck and call.

Also remember that if you feel that you are sacrificing yourself for your friendship, maybe you could ask your friend to help you out once in a while. If you are doing all the helping, yes you would feel like you sacrifice yourself for your friendship. Have your friend help you out with the things you may need help with.

Friendships are great and very rewarding. Friendships can even be more rewarding if you know how to not sacrifice yourself for the friendship. Begin by knowing your worth in the friendship, talk to your friend, learn to say no and ask your friend for some help once in a while.

Friendship is a great thing to have. Some friendships are not the easiest to have because you may feel you have to sacrifice yourself for the friendship. How to not sacrifice yourself for friendship will entail you to be strong and know your own worth as a person. Many friends will take advantage of your friendship causing you to sacrifice yourself.

As old relationships fade and new ones emerge (which have no resemblance or attraction to our old life), one might begin anew by allowing themselves to base new friendships (relationships) in a new way~ It is a life that is completely humble, pure in its intent, and firmly devoted to the good of all humans, but is also balanced in its self sacrifice~
when it comes to interacting with other loved ones

People hand in hand
Have I lived to see the milk and honey land ?
Where hate's a dream and love forever stands
Or is this a vision in my mind ?

The law was never passed
But somehow all men feel they're truly free at last
Have we really gone this far through space and time
Or is this a vision in my mind ?

I'm not one who makes believe
I know that leaves are green
They only change to brown when autumn comes around
I know just what I say
Today's not yesterday
And all things have an ending

But what I'd like to know
Is could a place like this exist so beautiful
Or do we have to find our wings and fly away
To the vision in our mind ?

I'm not one who makes believes
I know that leaves are green
They only change to brown when autumn comes around

Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he or she really is.

To a very special Friend ;)

Van Morrison's

"Someone like you"

I've been searching a long time
For someone exactly like you
I've been traveling all around the world
Waiting for you to come through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. Someone exactly
Like you.

I've been traveling a hard road
Looking for someone exactly like you
I've been carrying my heavy load
Waiting for the light to come
Shining through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. Someone exactly
Like you.

I've been doing some soul searching
To find out where you're at
I've been up and down the highway
In all kinds of foreign lands
Someone like you...

I've been all around the world
Marching to the beat of a different
Drum.
But just lately I have

Greeting's my Friends !

Goodbye to the past~ i'm never gonna never ever look back~ :bump2: again !!!!

The Confidence to Let Go of the Past and Our Suffering

Every single one of us on this planet suffers in some way. Doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, male or female, white, black or purple. As my friend tells me, “it’s part of our contract in being born. We have to suffer.” Some people seem to experience much greater personal tragedies than others but we all have painful issues we have to live through. It is part of life on this planet.

Suffering can happen in thousands of different ways and whether it takes place in the form of abuse (physical or mental), people cheating on us, loved ones dying on us, parents not loving us enough, car accidents or even losing our jobs, it doesn’t really matter in that we’re all affected by it at some point or at many points during our lives. Suffering is whatever causes us great emotional upheaval and we all have to go through it.

The difference is how we deal with our suffering and whether we're able to move on to emotional healing. We can deal with our pain or we can let it slowly destroy us. An important part of gaining confidence is to “let go” of our suffering and have the courage to move on and be the whole person we know we can be.

There’s two main steps in achieving the confidence to move past suffering.

Forgiveness
Forgive the person. This could be one person or it could be many. It could even be God. It’s whoever you feel has caused you great pain. Forgive them. Write them a letter.

Dear [blank],
I forgive you for [state whatever you feel has caused you the greatest emotional distress and anguish].

Be as completely honest as you can. Write it all down. You are NOT going to send this letter. You are the only person who will ever see this so get it all out. It’s important to write it down though. Saying it to yourself in your head does not make it “real” enough. Write it down. No one will ever see it so you don’t have to be afraid. Remember though, this is a letter of forgiveness and not blame. Blame is for victims and it makes you powerless. You are in control of your ability to forgive. “I forgive you”.

When you have done that, it is time to forgive one more person; yourself. At the time of the event, you did the best you could. Forgive yourself for letting it happen, for not doing something, for doing something. Whatever happened, forgive yourself. You cannot change the past. You can only become stronger from it.

Forgiveness is so important as the first step because it signifies a mental shift from being a victim to being the master of your life and having complete control over your destiny. You make the decision to forgive the person. You make the decision you are going to move on with your life. You are now taking action instead of simply reacting. You are in the process of taking back your power and being the master of your thoughts and your life.

Let It Go
This step can be harder than forgiveness. It can be quite easy to say “I forgive you” but still continue to hold on to the hurt and attachment to the “crime” and what you feel has been done to you.

Usually when we forgive someone, we are “blaming” or acknowledging that a wrong has been committed against us by that person. The problem comes when we secretly hold on to that crime. True forgiveness is about no longer holding on to or focusing on the action that got us so upset in the beginning. It is about moving on and completely becoming detached from the event.

The other part of letting go is that we can never truly feel the joy of today as long as we’re continuing to process or make sense of a past event. As Lynn Grabhorn says in her book the Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting Playbook “So rather than denying or stuffing your past, go ahead and look at it, but without judgment. Look at it, express it, admit it, acknowledge it, accept it, and move on. In other words, let your past become something that is simply a matter of fact. That’s all. Express your disappointment, your regret, your anger, and then LET IT GO! If you don’t, you will continue to draw to you the very events that you are still resenting or regretting."

Letting go also means letting go of the anger. A lot of times we are so filled with anger against the person or event but feel that we are helpless to do anything about it. When this happens the anger can turn inwards and we become very self destructive. Self destruction can take any number of forms as we seem to be very inventive when it comes to hurting ourselves. Eating disorders, addictions to drugs and alcohol, bad relationships, crime, self mutilation, not being able to keep a job, being constantly accident prone and on and on it goes. Each one of us finds a different way to take out our anger on ourselves.

You have the power so let it go. You no longer need it.

It is important to understand that forgiveness and letting go won’t happen overnight. After years of having the hurt and anger bottled up inside, it can take a while to develop the willingness to let those emotions go and to allow other positive feelings to take their place. You just need to take that first step to allow real healing to take place. Keep forgiving and keep letting go. The emotions can be incredibly painful but there’s no way to heal except to go through it and feel the emotions.

You are the only one who has the power to let the past go and to move on with your life. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says or does, only you have the power to take control of your life. It is incredibly empowering when you get to the stage when the past does not control your future anymore. You are relieved of your burden of anger freeing you from your previous self destructive behavior. You may find at this point that you are able to help others who are going through the exact same thing you did. You have gotten your life back. You are liberated from the past and you are finally truly free. You have gained unbelievable confidence in yourself and the world around you. You have moved beyond suffering. It is one of the greatest lessons we can learn during our lifetime.

Crabby old man

http://sites.google.com/site/jokesv1fun/_/rsrc/1261195486727/crabby-old-man/oldh.jpg

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home
in North Platte , Nebraska , it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions,
they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the
staff that copies were made and distributed to every
nurse in the hospital. One nurse took her copy to Missouri .

The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in
the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the St. Louis Association
for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been
made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world,
is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . . .. . What do you see?
What are you thinking . . . . . When you're looking at me?
A crabby old man . . . . . Not very wise,
Uncertain of habit . . . . . With faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food . . . . . And makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . . . . . 'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . . . . The things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not . . . . . Lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . . . The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? . . . . . Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse . . . . . You're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am. . . . . . As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, . . . . . As I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .. . . . With a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters . . . . . Who love one another.

A young boy of Sixteen . . . . With wings on his feet..
Dreaming that soon now . . . . . A lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . . . My heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows . . . . .. That I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now . . . . . I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . . . . With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons . . . . . Have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me . . . . . To see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future . . . . . Shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing . . . . . Young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . . . And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man . . . . . And nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age . . . .. . Look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles . . . . . Grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone . .. . . Where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . . . . . A young guy still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . My battered heart swells.
I remember the joys . . . . . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . .. . Life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . . . . . Gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . . That nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people . . . . . Open and see.
Not a crabby old man . . . Look closer . . . See ME!!

Remember~

The best and most beautiful things of

This world can't be seen or touched.

They must be felt by the heart.

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within.....we will all,
one day, be there, too!

Moving Forward- A poem

In an effort to discover who we are meant to be
We must all travel many paths
Some long, and some short
People join and tag along
While others only follow momentarily
In this changing world it is difficult to know where the paths will take us
And yet we are compelled to follow each as far as it will go
Through pain and suffering
Hurt and hardship
We continue
Hoping for better days
Where living is effortless
Life isn't about winning the race though
It's about meeting people, making friends
Living, and loving, and losing
Sadly nothing in this life is permanent
And the people who believe it is are just deluding themselves
We must make the best of what and who we have in our lives
And never take these things for granted
Our friends and enemies make us the people we are today
And without them we would have nothing
We need their encouragement and discouragement
Help and hindrance, love and hatred
To continue along these paths
We cannot move forward without both wins and losses
These things make us stronger, more resistant
If life was easy it wouldn't be worth living
The challenges make it interesting, they make us try
They make us fight for the things we love in order to keep them
But some of those those things will never last
They fade into the darkness all too quickly
Into the depths of memory to be treasured or forgotten
Lost behind us on the path to be found by others
Hoping they will be treasured as we once treasured them
Memories change, feelings fade, and we are forced to let go of things we once held dear
We can't let these things hold us back
Because if we never move forward we will never be happy
And happiness is the goal of all
If you are happy with where you are in life, enjoy it
It may last, or it may not
Just keep traveling, and living, and learning, and loving until the end.

Greetings my Friends,

Some food for your thoughts~

Power vs Force

"Power arises from meaning. It has to do with motive, and it has to do with principle. Power is always associated with that which supports the significance of life itself. It appeals to that part of human nature that we call noble~ in contrast to force, which appeals to that which we call crass. Power appeals to what uplifts, dignifies, and ennobles. Force must always be justified, whereas power requires no justification. Force is associated with partial, power with the whole."

Force always moves against something, whereas power doesn't move against anything at all. Force is incomplete and therefor has to be fed constantly. Power is total and complete in itself and requires nothing from outside. It makes no demands: it has no needs. Because force has an insatiable appetite, it constantly consumes. Power, in contrast, energizes, gives forth, supplies, and supports. Power gives life and energy~ force takes these away. we notice that power is associated with compassion and makes us feel positively about ourselves. Force is associated with judgment and makes us feel poorly about ourselves.

Force always creates counter force; its effect is to polarize rather than unify. Polarization always implies conflict; its cost, therefore, is always high. Because force incites polarization, it inevitably produces a win/lose dichotomy; and because somebody always loses, enemies are created. Constantly faced with enemies, force requires constant defense. Defensiveness is invariably costly, whether in the marketplace, politics, or international affairs.

In looking for the source of power, we've noted that it is associated with meaning, and this meaning has to do with significance of life itself. Force is concrete, literal, and arguable. It requires proof and support. The sources of power, however, are inarguable and aren't subject to proof. The self-evident isn't arguable. That health is more important than disease, that life is more important than death, that honor is preferable to dishonor, that faith and trust are preferable to doubt and cynicism, that the constructive is preferable to the destructive~ all are self-evident statements not subject to proof. Ultimately, the only thing we can say about a source of power is that it just "is".

Every civilization is characterized by native principles. If principles of a civilization are noble, it succeeds; if they're selfish, it fails. as a term, principles may sound abstract, but the consequences of principle are quite concrete. If we examine principles, we'll see that they reside in an invisible realm within consciousness itself. Although we can point out examples of honesty in the world, honesty itself as an organizing principle central to civilization does not independently exist anywhere in the external world. True power, then, emanates from consciousness itself;
what we see is a visible manifestation of the invisible."

The Prayer (duet With Andrea Bocelli) lyrics

( by Carol Bayer Sager/David Foster)

I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go.
And help us to be wise in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way
Lead us to the place, guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
La luce che tu hai
[I pray we'll find your light]
Nel cuore resterà
[And hold it in our hearts.]
A ricordarci che
[When stars go out each night,]
Eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
[Let this be our prayer]
Quanta fede c'è
[When shadows fill our day]
Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
Sogniamo un mondo senza più violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno lo dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace, di fraternità
La forza che ci dà
[We ask that life be kind]
È il desiderio che
[And watch us from above]
Ognuno trovi amor
[We hope each soul will find]
Intorno e dentro sé
[Another soul to love]
Let this be our prayer [Let this be our prayer],
Just like every child
Need to find a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
È la fede che
Hai acceso in noi,
Sento che ci salverà

Hello friends of spirit and love,

When I was growing up, I use to watch shows that would talk of team participation, but more so to sports and government, and how things would work out if you join these antiquated affairs, well never once did I ever see sports and government actually and truly lift ones spirit and heart...

Only when I made friends my heart and spirit was truly lifted..

Government never did anything for the betterment of all and neither did any type of sport, all I ever saw that came out of those factions was blind competition and war, death and worse still ignorance, there was no true love or caring involved.

Friendship on the other hand, bring much more into the picture, like grace, love, understanding, patients, humility, and the like... And in some cases soul mates of all kinds..

Some Friendly Advice ~

How to find peace of mind ~ in under 500 words

“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.” ~Proverb

Practice and patience are like inseparable twins that have the capacity to bring us great joy when in harmony—and great angst when they are not.

Consider the phrase: “Practice and all is coming….”

I didn’t realize the depth of this statement when I first read it in my Ashtanga yoga manual several years ago.

Sri K Pattabhi Jois was the Yogi who said it repeatedly to all his students. And it is perfectly reasonable for one to assume he was referring to the daily practice of yoga.

But one morning during my writing practice (my daily moving meditation) I realized the true essence of his statement.

For as long as I can remember I have strived to know peace—that is peace while living in the ‘real’ world and freedom from my cluttered mind.

We all do, don’t we? And I’m guessing that we all have some idea, whether through books or people of how we are supposed to achieve this. Self awareness, detachment, letting go of failure, hurt, pain, being present—the list goes on and on.

Despite being fundamentally aware of what we need to do, why do we often fail to apply? Why are we all not at peace?

At times we might achieve small bouts of contentment—and I believe as we get older we get better at it—but why should this be the case if we know now what we’re supposed to be doing?

So here’s the realization, in all its simplicity:

Practice and patience.

Even peace of mind comes with daily practice and patience.

Just realizing this will improve our daily state of mind, regardless of how old we are.

We don’t need to think hard for examples to labor the point. To become great cooks we have to practice cooking—we have to master the recipes. Great athletes dedicate their lives to their sport. Yogis practice postures, singers exercise their voices. The same is true with what goes on in our heads.

We have to constantly remind ourselves to let go of the pain, hurt, failure, whatever it might be that is causing distress and cluttering our minds.

I say identify, resolve and let go constantly. Repeatedly. Daily.

This is what I now do every day and particularly when stress, sadness or frustration comes knocking at my door.

Let these random thoughts pass and if something needs to be done, do it. Otherwise, plan when you will get it done and deal with it at that necessary point. Then let it go. Let go of the thought and also the result and expectation tied to it.

Do this with everything that causes you stress and don’t punish yourself when you can’t or struggle to process—patience, remember?

I know it’s hard, but we can get better over time.

Dear Friends~
more often during these days of the quickening ~ i have to step back and reflect upon what lessons were learned?
Today, i am again humbled by the smallness of my surface mind's reactions to the faults of my fellow spirit souls.

"He who treads the Path in earnest
Sees not the mistakes of the world;
If we find fault with others
We ourselves are also in the wrong.
When other people are in the wrong, we should ignore it,
For it is wrong for us to find fault.
By getting rid of this habit of fault-finding
We cut off a source of defilement.
When neither hatred nor love disturb our mind
Serenely we sleep."

for your pleasure ~

The Mother Of Dreams

Goddess supreme, Mother of Dream, by thy ivory doors when thou standest,
Who are they then that come down unto men in thy visions that troop, group upon group, down the path of the shadows slanting?
Dream after dream, they flash and they gleam with the flame of the stars still around them;
Shadows at thy side in a darkness ride where the wild fires dance, stars glow and glance and the random meteor glistens;
There are voices that cry to their kin who reply; voices sweet, at the heart they beat and ravish the soul as it listens.

What then are these lands and these golden sands and these seas more radiant than earth can imagine?
Who are those that pace by the purple waves that race to the cliff-bound floor of thy jasper shore under skies in which mystery muses,
Lapped in moonlight not of our night or plunged in sunshine that is not diurnal?
Who are they coming thy Oceans roaming with sails whose strands are not made by hands, an unearthly wind advances?
Why do they join in a mystic line with those on the sands linking hands in strange and stately dances?

Thou in the air, with a flame in thy hair, the whirl of thy wonders watching,
Holdest the night in thy ancient right, Mother divine, hyacinthine, with a girdle of beauty defended.
Sworded with fire, attracting desire, thy tenebrous kingdom thou keepest,
Starry-sweet, with the moon at thy feet, now hidden now seen the clouds between in the gloom and the drift of thy tresses.
Only to those whom thy fancy chose, O thou heart-free, is it given to see thy witchcraft and feel thy caresses.

Open the gate where thy children wait in their world of a beauty undarkened.
High-throned on a cloud, victorious, proud I have espied Maghavan ride when the armies of wind are behind him;
Food has been given for my tasting from heaven and fruit of immortal sweetness;
I have drunk wine of the kingdoms divine and have healed the change of music strange from a lyre which our hands cannot master,
Doors have swung wide in the chambers of pride where the Gods reside and the Apsaras dance in their circles faster and faster.

For thou art she whom we first can see when we pass the bounds of the mortal;
There at the gates of the heavenly states thou hast planted thy wand enchanted over the head of the Yogin waving.
From thee are the dream and the shadows that seem and the fugitive lights that delude us;
Thine is the shade in which visions are made; sped by thy hands from celestial lands come the souls that rejoice for ever.
Into thy dream-worlds we pass or look in thy magic glass, then beyond thee we climb out of Space and Time to the peak of divine endeavour.

- Sri Aurobindo

All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will ~
all the faith that you claimed but did not have.

Hi giovonni,
Thanks for reaching out! To tell you the truth, I'm feeling alone because everyone I try to talk to about topics on avalon basically rejects me and thinks I'm "insane." Its like the famous words of Aldous Huxley (to the effect) people will love their enslavement and not even have the capacity to understand they are not free.

I'm at the point of becoming a hermit because most people I meet are only interested in "using" others and ending the friendship as soon as they get what they want. Its a kind of "mass-mental illness" that I can't break through. I've recently tried to live in another country, but failed to get a visa (after wasting a lot of time and money). I won't ramble on any more - I just want to "thank you for being a friend".

Thank you Mulder, for your sharing those personal and very heartfelt sentiments here. Believe me, you are not alone in having these feelings. Many here mirror each other, so there will be (often) much clarity and yes ~ rejection at times ~ from each other. Most of us here need (now) to withdraw (more) into our heart's (self) for guidance on how and where to proceed from here? If i may ~ i sense you are where you are suppose to be right now. Change is Good. And... Inevitable!

It is funny that we tend to avoid and often fear change even though it is the one constant and guaranteed aspect of life. Change is happening every moment both within and around us.

Embracing conscious change can be one of the most challenging experiences we can undertake. These days we seemingly face continuous change. It can be in multiple areas of our lives like changes in health, career, spouses, friends, environment, geographic location, finances, cultural and political shifts, lifestyle concerns like nutrition, diet and exercise, and even our unspoken beliefs about death. And what about the unexpected events that we face?

How do we view change, as positive growth or negative setbacks? We can learn to go with the flow and make true inner changes in our personal understanding for a more enjoyable and easier navigation of our everyday lives.

Life's long and winding road can be stunningly beautiful and filled with joyful adventures. It can also be filled with drama, trauma and pain. We hold the key to experiencing either joy or struggle through our choice of intention. Which do you prefer?

Change Allows us to Evolve...

Consciously embracing change is how we evolve. It begins when we start the process of looking within and recognize who we are at a deep level. Rather than solely pursuing our daily outer activities, we can learn to tap our highest inner desires and manifest the things that bring us the greatest joy.

Our unrealized potential is often limited by the beliefs we hold about life. We engage our highest potential when we empower our thoughts and feelings by living from our heart. We still participate in our daily routine; however we begin to create all new perspectives and understandings. This is simply a matter of becoming aware of where we are placing our attention; then learning how to change the focus of our attention when we wish to take on a different perspective. We can become solution oriented rather than problem centered. It is our choice.

Ultimately, our life journey is a personal one. Our spouse, partner, children, family, friends, co-workers and even strangers help us to learn about our personal issues. So do our pets, environment, careers, culture and daily experiences. Each encounter mirrors aspects of our consciousness. The journey can be as easy or as difficult as we desire: the solution is in our willingness to let go, embrace change and evolve our attitudes and perspectives.

The beauty is that our effort to grow and change is often met with new vistas of opportunities presently undreamed of. Things we never considered are now possible and even desirable. As we evolve our consciousness, the old ways of thinking and feeling actually become more dense and difficult to maintain and easier to release. Everything becomes lighter and brighter through a simple act of personal growth, acceptance and self awareness.

Creating In A New Way...

There is yesterday and then there is today. How many of us fall into the trap that what we experienced in the past is destined to be our future? Which of us realizes that in any moment we have the power, ability and imagination to create from a different perspective?

Life is an unfolding process of our own making. What we think and believe becomes our experiences. Where we see lack and limitation we create the same in our lives. Likewise, when we see abundance, caring and sharing, we experience this as our reality too.

It takes enormous courage to go within and question our personal views on life and endeavor to embrace, correct and release that which no longer serves us. It also takes strength and determination to stop blaming others and accept the responsibility of our own creation. When we realize that the war rages on in our mind and nowhere else, we are well on our way to positive change.

What is the reward for such effort? A more peaceful, balanced and loving life. Isn't that what we all strive for in our constant pursuit of our daily interactions, relationships and material possessions? We seek a sense of joy and fulfillment in all that we do and all that we are.

This is a process of going within and realizing the power you have to create every moment. When you come from balance and understanding, wisdom becomes your true power and your decisions begin to reflect a new way of thinking and feeling. True success comes as a result of this restored ability. So create a new you and experience the peace and joy you crave deep within.

Our Choices...

Every moment of every day we have choice whether we are conscious of it or not. This becomes a powerful understanding when we start to realize our choices create our reality. What we experience today is based upon infinite decisions that led up to this moment.

We make up our world as we go along according to our beliefs, assumptions, thoughts, words, deeds and actions. What we think is what we become. Yet, most people are unaware of this process. The truly amazing aspect of this realization -- we can change our thoughts and feelings and therefore, our reality.

Each day we follow our routines rarely thinking about the consequences and usually unaware that every decision or non-decision has an impact upon our life and the world around us. Every thought, word, deed and action is placed in motion by us personally. We are responsible for what we think and do and what we experience as a result.

Without paying attention to our inner world we are destined to perpetuate our fears, doubts, angers, shame and judgments. This leads to frustration, stress, problems and frequently dis-ease. The cycle returns to us again and again. When we think and feel lack, for example, we experience the same. Likewise, when we think and feel prosperous, we create more abundance in our lives. The power of our attention determines what we will experience.

We have the potential every moment to change our perspective and in doing so, transform our reality. We can become conscious of our focus and attention and bring our thoughts and feelings in alignment to our heart's desires. We are already creating our life whether we are aware of it or not, so why not choose the life your heart dances to?

It is refreshing to finally see a kinder, gentler post. So much speculation on what could be going on, who is telling the truth, who is right, who is wrong. Nice to see acceptance and love and friendship.

I do enjoy all the information, comments and questions asked on PA by the varied members on some subjects, I question the answers...

I have yet to really come to any concrete realization about life on this planet, our future...
I will continue to seek.

A prayer I have learned to say on a daily basis.

I give this day to all that is divine.
Each step that I take let it be anointed and blessed.
When challenges come forth as they will in duality, let me celebrate them and move through them with appropriateness and love.

I'm sort of a self imposed hermit myself...by choice. All the ego noise and chatter out there was just not ....not doing anything for me. And they do nothing for each other. And there's nothing I can do for them and I'm not sitting around and watching people play in their own feces the rest of my life ...lol. But there is a time in our life where we are called upon to learn to love our own company. This may be your time to do that. In doing so others will love our company and we will draw in those whose company we love. Thus these periods of solitude. Learning to reconnect with who you authentically are, disconnect from that which isn't authentic and learn to attract those who will support your authenticity. And love you for it. Moving, and rearranging doesn't help much. It can to a certain extent for the right reasons. I live in the woods for a reason and not to just keep the noise makers out. But if you do it for the wrong reasons, You just move the physical location of your circumstances. Just sit still in an environment of your choosing and accept this is your time of solitude , obligation free.

When I feel like being social I creep out..on my own terms.

And they....well THEY ask me how can i 'moulder' out in the woods by myself week after week by myself." What a waste of my life, they say. The things they say "If I looked like you I'd be out in the Metro clubbing it up not slumping around in a pair of overalls." As if clubbing it every night were some sort of purposeful life...lol. People who need constant attention and ego feed can't understand where I'm coming from. So I say, "I like my own company , I'm content for the time being " and they tell me I'm egotistical for liking my own company....lol. Because they don't like their own. No point fighting that sort of logic, so retreat, retreat, retreat. For a time anyway.

Nice thread Giovanni, thanks for starting it.

Power verse Force

i am truly no wordsmith ~ but i am definitely
working harder on becoming a better human being.

Saying that i recently found this article and thought it might be of help to some others here to consider when participating on the forum.
It might be quite useful in pondering, before one tries to utilize their own skills when engaging in the subtle art of wordsmithing?

The Power of Words

"Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

"I remember saying those words when young to try and convince myself of its truth in the
face of painful words thrown my way. Unfortunately, it is far from true. Verbal
insults, verbal abuse, and the power of words to affect your emotions and
actions are well demonstrated in science. For example, scientists have found
that just hearing sentences about elderly people led research subjects to walk
more slowly. In other research, individuals read words of 'loving kindness'
showed increases in self-compassion, improved mood, and reduced anxiety.

But words are not attended to equally by all. Studies reveal that we place our
attention toward words differently depending on our own biological or
personality traits. For example, individuals with eating disorders pay greater
attention to words reflecting body parts or body image than others, and in other
experiments 'taboo' words require more time to reach conscious awareness than
words lacking taboo connotations. I notice among my own blogs, those with titles
including words like "God" or "abortion" receive many more responses than less
emotionally charged words.

As scientists uncover the power of words to effect behavioral change, the power
of rhetoric has become a topic of the current state of this world. Clearly we
are all attending more to the power of words. I see the impact of words I choose
on the world around me and my own biases, prejudices, and selective attention in
the words I hear. Yesterday, my son detected an unknown prejudice when I was
talking on the phone with an auto broker to ship a car from Michigan to LA. The
broker's voice, likely of a different racial/ethnic group than mine and speaking
with some slang and grammatical errors led me to quickly project an image of a
man who might not be so legitimate in business. I dislike that I subconsciously
had such a prejudicial view based on the words he used but I realized that
biases run deep and likely reflect my 56 years of living (raised in the 50s and
living before and after the civil and women's rights' movements). I was happy to
see my son (age 26) free of such conditioning, capable of easily detecting it
and possessing the courage to point it out to me.

I once read that a word is like a living organism, capable of growing, changing,
spreading, and influencing the world in many ways, directly and indirectly
through others. I never thought about a word being 'alive' but then I thought of
words spoken 3,000 years ago, written down and passed through many generations,
and they seem quite alive when read or spoken today, having lived 3,000 years.
As I ponder the power of the word to incite and divide, to calm and connect, or
to create and effect change, I am ever more cautious in what I say and how I
listen to the words around me."
S.S.

Greetings to all of you avalonians!! I first want to sincerely thank giovonni for posting this thread. I have been searching this site for the past several days after joining; immersing my psyche, digesting a massive amount of information. Up until this post, I hadn't really felt a connection, a warmth from within. I have felt more of a sense of urgency.
There seems to be a common ground here, however. Giovonni, your title was perfect. After scrolling through the messages, people are responding to it.
Definition of friend from Answers.com: n.
A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement: friends of the clean air movement.

I believe that we are all connected, not just etherically but through our own experiences and are able to empathize. Isn't that why we are all here at this forum? Every once in a while it is a blissful feeling to be able to 'stop and smell the roses'. May I add to this age old saying 'with a friend to expand on the experience'.
Of course we all here at this forum are at varying degrees of understanding on the vast topics that are discussed. But one important aspect that respect most is the respect we are giving one another to be able to post without recourse and belittling due to the possible lack of knowledge.
I am extremely thankful to Bill and his team for this site; without it, I would still be research the web on my own and feeling alone with all the personal discoveries that I have made. For that, I consider you all to be a friend and I genuinely feel love for you all!:grouphug:

i will share something very personal with you all here, recently a very close friend desired and chose to sever our friendship... Words can not explain the pain this has brought too me, but i will accept it knowing this was truly a no win situation for both of us. The future of this relationship was quite improbable; It was most likely only intended as a very hard learning lesson (we both agreed to experience) during this time and space... Still, i know, i am far from perfect ~ for i have been told (often) my energies can be quite intense at times ~ good and bad. Those who know and have met me ~ know i have always been extremely loyal and always put other before myself. i have no regrets ~ for i have always lived within my heart ~ giovonni

Greeting'a my fellow Avalonians,

With the wonderful opportunity in starting anew here at Avalon, I would like to extend my friendship to all members. I was rasied too be a social team player, and love interactions with all humanbeings. I realize it is difficult for some to reach out to others, so maybe here we can drop all the social protocols and become more uninhibited towards each other and create a community mind-set of being one in many. I hope and pray~ we can all reach out too each other and bring the community spirit here up a few levels.
I would like to hear what other members feel in these regards?

Much love too all<>gio

Hello to all....would like to take this opportunity and introduce my self.
originally from Liverpool in England, spent 5 years in London (Batersea) I have been currently living in Paris for the past 4 years.
I work freelance mostly film and editing, also enjoy homing my artistic skills here in Paris.

Began to wake up about 5 years ago, Very difficult time for the first two years, confusing, angry, bewildered, anxiety, depression you name
it felt like I had been hit with a steam train, full on. still trying to come to terms with allot, but the waters have settled and a new balance is emerging.

I would also like to take this opportunity in making a public apologies to Bill Ryan. ( my personal apologies already sent) to whom I directed some of my anger
towards in those first very uncomfortable years. Like most I have be a viewer of both Bill and Kerry's work from day one, with many, many late sleepless nights.
as time went on and the cracks began to appear and the pain of my paradigm began to seep in to my reality, unfortunately it was bill who was the one on the receiving end. I would bang away at the key board (in what I know now to be incoherent nonsense, to the point of being damm right rude)

I have to say this, through it all Bill Ryan treated me with respect, and dignity, I received a reply to every single e-mail, with calm and tolerance.
its been inspirational the way he has treated me, and for that I thank him. I see now, more today, then ever before, the quality's of the man.

I hope I can find a place here among's people who I can learn and grow from, and long may that last.......

I would also like to point out here, I am not the best with grammar and spelling as I am 25% dyslexic, so please cut me a little slack, some days are better than others depending on what's going on in me head. (have to spell check allot)

Thank you if you have taken the time to read this and understand.

best wishes to all
Ace

It sounds like you have truly learned much in the fast few years ...And, as per the law of attraction... Perhaps it is in these in-depth analysis that define true wisdom that creates the harmony and balance ~ we all are (hopefully) seeking here.

A souls sacrifice...

"Our only true gift on this earth is having shared our life with another for even a short time. During times when we can only look at our loss in terms of what we have lost, the real gift comes in knowing that another soul has chosen us to spend its short time with, and the reward is the time we had. If we look at the loss as a tragedy, we will never understand what a gift we received. The soul of a loved one is so much more than the physical presence it took up on the earth. To curse the passing of our loved one is to not understand that our loved one is a complete and total being, on a separate journey from our own, no matter how many times the roads intertwine, and no matter when they separate. We have to look at each other as souls on a course and not physical bodies that are faulted and frail; our souls are invincible and they go on. Our gift is having spent any time at all with another soul that we love. Something given to us even for a second gives us a lifetime of memories, and although I hate clichés, the souls indeed have agreed that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved. Imagine never having been touched by the soul of your loved one on the earth -- it is an empty experience, and that is real death. Our potential to love, to hurt, to recover, and to eventually learn shields us from true death. At a time when we feel so much has been taken from us, it is the one true gift the souls can give us ~ a gift of peace."

I have been like a child skipping around a new school for the first time,
such a light feeling i have come to know these last 4 days.

For some reason the power of the smile keeps being with me, and every were i go people are getting it, on my way home on the metro yesterday a poor soul consumed by anger and frustration was mouthing off at anybody and everybody within ten feet of him, in my old life i would have given him my "frowning hippo look', but i gave him a smile, and i swear i watched the man go from aggressive and outwardly angry to inward and mumbling to him self, he looked at me again and again i gave him my best smile this time with a very gentle knowing nod, he just fell silent,

I got off the metro and felt like i was gliding through the crowd oon fresh air, i am convinced are smile is the secret, so powerful........

Someone smiles! …and I feel an instant lift in my own spirit…a connection (if but for a brief second) to another…a connection to something greater than just myself…

For me, it really isn't important anymore on the hows and whens all this (stuff) was perpetrated upon us...But ...what is of extreme importance, is that i (we) start looking more intently inward to initiate the changes necessary to survive along with a quickly changing planet Earth. Those that focus (too often) on the ideals of being spiritual, usually miss the point on just being a simple and loving human being. The (few) individuals that i have met who exemplify this state, usually never used the word (spiritual), because they were (are) too busy living spiritual lives ~ being true to themselves and to mother nature's way.

Its such a shame some of those long standing senor members have reacted negatively to us new comers, even to the point of leaving.
I must admit I am a little confused by this at this time. is life not about embracing change, growth, learning?

It has given me flash backs in my life review.

I was 12 years old and we had just moved house to a new area of Liverpool, our old house was right in the shadows of Liverpool football ground and I grew up with a football at my feet. After moving about a mile away to our new home I ventured out in to the street and try to join in a game of football with the new local lads. they let me play for five minuets, after my third goal scored and seeing, even thou I was new to the area, I could play football, the kid who's ball it was picked it up and whet home, saying he didn't want to play no more.

I am 48 years of old today, and it saddens me to feel that no matter what age we are, people play the same old games.

And then my higher self nudges me and tells me, if somebody new threatens somebody old, just by their presence, well it's obvious
that, that someone old, is maybe not as enlightened as they thought they were.

Kind Regards
Ace

It has been a bit rough in here for "newbies"the past few days. I think it is wrong and Bill has addressed it as have the bulk of the Avalonians. Please see if your experience isn't much improved in the days ahead.

You are very welcome here. We disagree with each other but 1 day 1 year makes no difference it is your conduct that matters. I am fairly new here myself and have seen a few come and go in a short time.

You are right about enlightenment. Being here, for any time, is no guarantee of that.

Ace

what makes you more enlightened than any one else. with that my higher self comment you sound like you to are no better than any one else here.
you were just as as upset as the other kid was. he got upset because he didnt want to lose all the time and, you were upset because no one wanted to play with you . so please tell me how you are a higher being ??

most people here do not think they are better than anyone else. so please do not assume otherwise

*hands the mic back to you * I am listening :couch2:

Good morning my Friends,

You all must realize i am on the West Coast of the US and (well), i am late too ketch:sleep: up with all that's going about here on the forum~ especially with those of you over in Europe.

First let me say, i am pleased to see other members using this thread, as a place of sanctuary in airing and venting with a kind ~ respect for each other. There is no question that there is going to be differences of opinions (and experiences) between members (old & new) now and then, but what really matters is the way we go about working through these differences.

Thank you ace, modwiz and silentghost80 , for so eloquently demonstrating it here :clap2:

ace ~ You are absolutely correct in that it's all about change - We all here need to get use to it~ So be it!

By the way ace ~ Happy Birthday to You!!!

I'm about as senior a member as anyone here and would like to suggest to new and old alike to try to keep a damper on the offense meters...it's so very, very easy to misinterpret text--and also so very easy to let the hackles rise over comments made that may not be said in the same spirit as your experience might trick you into believing. Also, even if someone does get their or your emo-buttons pushed and come at you--remember we're all just too human and there is so much going on in the world to keep us hyper-sensitive as it is.... Cool headed, impersonal discussion in the face of disagreement generally works best n my humble opinion, but if the neck hairs are up, it's a good policy to put it on the back burner until you or the other party can sort it out. We're all here to learn, get other opinions to help us in discernment and when those other opinions just don't match up to ours--better to 'live to fight another day' than try to wrestle someone to the mat over 'apparent' disagreement, isn't it? Been my experience that opposing view will change over time, anyway, with more info revealed...
