I don't think the two are directly connected, or indirectly for that matter...

these cracks are happing in the US too, with no "mis use" or "poverty" present and are most likely a result of our earth expanding more ("expando planet" theory)

If you happend to be there a crack or a sinkhole are made. PLEASE dont go near them!
I have workt wid Excavtion for 20 years. It is soooooo dangerus to stand close to them. It is in my work the most comen thing to die in, when the earth cave in. And if you think you just crawl back up.
I can tell you that it is tons and tons of dirt of earth that gonna be your funeral burial in 1 sec. (ofc there are a few lucky)

If you have to go pas a thing like this. Look close after cracks and there the ground have started to lean. (it is not safe there)

Or just simple tectonic re-adjustments in view of the number of earth quakes that have been affecting this area at large, from the Puerto Rico trench to the Rim of fire.
