Am going to share a little story that happened with me a few years ago, that i think we all end up doing in every aspect of our lives without noticing. It even happens here when one person says a thing, and the other understands the exact words in a very different way from their original intention.
I was modelling for this sculpting class as if i had nothing better to do. And then the instructor after explaining what all the bones in the anatomy of the skull and neck are, goes on to tell his class,
"I assure you, you are all going to work very hard on it, and try to get everything right, and in the end each persons sculpture is going to end up looking like themselves rather than the person your sculpting."
surely enough by the end of the class a few weeks later (those people had time to work) every single person ended up doing themselves. This girl even gave her sculpture tiny curly hair where mine is straight. A guy ended up with something that had very wide shoulders and a tiny head, which also looked like him, and basically everyone did themselves, and only when they were done did they realize this.
Apparently only highly experienced artists can replicate what is in front of them and i was told even they will subconsciously put a bit of themselves in their works.
what are your opinions of why this happens? is it a self protection mechanism or desire to see things go our way? as i do see it not only here on this forum but even in daily life, it's like people listen with one ear but try to answer with more than one mouth.
