View Full Version : Israel Erupts in Protest, Tens of Thousands Chant "Revolution"

FYI:

Approximately 30,000 protesters marched in Tel Aviv last night, with social justice activists blocking central streets and chants of "Mubarak. Assad. Netanyahu" filling the air.

Tel Aviv police arrested 42 activists, which is an extremely rare number, "if not unprecedented," according to +972 Magazine, which has been closely following the circumstances surrounding the sudden rise of Israel's progressive left.

The protests are part of a larger movement that began as opposition to rising housing prices, and indeed is still centered around that issue, but has spread to other social justice and progressive causes.

These protests are being described as "the greatest challenge PM Netanyahu faces on the home front," and show that the progressive left in Israel has awoken.

Change in Israel may be coming.

Noam Sheizaf offers a good visual description of how, last week, these protests began to foment:

It happened almost overnight: Friday morning a week ago, walking near Habima Square in central Tel Aviv, I saw only a handful of tents, with no more than a few dozen Israelis who answered an internet call for an ongoing protest against rising rent costs. On Saturday evening the tents covered an entire block on Rothschild Boulevard, and protesters threw cottage cheese containers on the Likud HQ on nearby King George Street. A couple of days later, the tent protests came to dominate the news cycle.

Housing minister Ariel Attias (Shas) argued that the protesters were spoiled kids that refuse to leave the fashionable center of the country, but by Tuesday there were tents in Jerusalem, the southern city of Beer Sheva and as far north as Kiryat Shmona, near the Lebanon border (see a map of all the protests here). By Wednesday protesters tried to break into empty apartments in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem; the tents on Rothschild Boulevard stretched several blocks, all the way from Habimah Square to Shenkin Street, and marches and rallies were scheduled for the weekend. The Friday papers declared that Binyamin Netanyahu sees the tent protest as the greatest potential political threat to his governing coalition.

These protests, which began as explicit anger at the rising rental prices in cities across the country, have been fueled by the response of Netanyahu's government, which initially, with hostile rhetoric, dismissed them as being part of a large, leftwing movement being funded by outfits such as the New Israel Fund. The initial rhetoric, which claimed that the protests were not about anything other than the "Zionist Left's" political agenda, only served to increase protesters' anger and resolve.

These reactions from Netanyahu and other government officials have served to broaden the protests, which have now moved from rent prices to a host of social justice issues: women's rights, union rights and education reform, among other things, with general chants of "revolution" heard on the streets last night.

What has yet to be heard, in the protests, are calls for more democracy in the wake of the anti-democratic laws that have recently been passed. Also absent has been the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

However, as these protest spread, and all indications are that they are going to continue – as Israel's progressive left awakens – I suspect that all of the above issues will become represented by the protests, which are taking on a large, general "anti-Netanyahu" bent.

For the first time, last night, Israel appeared as its neighbors have for some time. Yes, the protests may have had a different genesis, but they share a common thread: anger with the current regime.

Things may be changing in Israel.

Excellent news.
I wish them all the best, find your voice, find your backbones and remove the trash running your nation, for if you do not, I fear the future for the whole region.
If they do successfully take control of their own destiny, they should then hold out their hands to their brothers on the other side of the wall and ask them to help them pull it down.

If i remember well sometimes during the past century, many Jews who refused to relocate to Israel, were lured with a promise of $10,000 USD on arrival and a better life, that won't be available elsewhere.....

very silly of the corrupt politicians there to forget that, and try to act like corrupt politicians elsewhere....

BTW only a boulevard named after the Rothschild things?? the whole country should be named after them instead of the word Israel.

No one has the power to stop Israel's tyranny better than it's own people. This is what's been missing, the people who live at the heart of Israel can stop what it is doing throughout the world and in Gaza. This is another example of what we are all supposed to do when we experience governments that do not work for us and haven't done anything beneficial in some time. All of us can do it for the areas in which we live with some unity of purpose. It is time for great changes all around the world including here.

Thanks Ktlight.......Israel is a oxymoron....full of contradictions....For a tiny country it has influenced world politics totally out of proportion..Originally founded by Abraham,Isaac and Jacob.Abraham being Babylonian todays Iraq, ( which is ironic) it has always toyled according to the Bible from one triumph to the next disaster, untill being dispearced by the Romans...Since then the land of Palastine has been ruled by various regimes untill 1947 when a jewish uprising threw out the then legitimate peoples of Palastine......
So we now had a young vibrant new Israel backed by US and Western Europe...
There is no easy answer to the security fears, all I know Israel is untenable in its existing form..Being a young country born through, and living with the gun.Things can only change when neighbours get on with each other, this is the same for any neighbourhood at home, as it is for any country. The first steps may have been taken this spring and the oppertunity for more open discussions between Israel and her neighbours mutual trust and security may have arrived and I wish this could be true.

But I suspect like a lot of us on this forum I see the middle east as the PTB's chess board and Israel and the Arab countries are all pawns waiting to be sacrificed in some bigger agenda when the time is right.
I hope I'm wrong and new dawn is on the horizon,we will just have to see...Cheers Steve

They do indeed own most of that land and arranged for lord balfour to declare support for the creation of ''israel'', so yes, it would be appropriate.
For me, I look forward to the nation being replaced with a more equitable nation that includes all of the west bank and the palestinians.
They CAN live in peace, but that requires respect and dignity being offered to both parties so that they can be one party.
Again.

I disagree with you Steve.
There is a simple solution to the madness.
1. The borders are expanded to take in all of the west bank.
2. The palestinians are now equal partners in the new nation.
3. The new nation has a neutral name such as ''The Holy Land'' or similar.
4. The west bank is rebuilt to the same standard of living as israel has now.
5. Because most of the security issue is now not so bad, the military spending can be reduced.
6. That money can be used to start the rebuilding and creation of work for anyone there that wants/needs it.
7. The wall and other symbols of tyranny is removed, much like the Berlin Wall.
8. The extremists from both sides are kept under control
9. The new nation tries the criminals of the old nation for their crimes.

If they did this, then I would be prepared to help them in their building efforts.
I will be able to supply a lot of the money they require and advocate for the new nation.
I would also be prepared to live there and put my life in the mix as well.

Now, some of you may be aware that the handshake you see I posted above cost Rabin his life.
Him and Peres appear to be genuine guys who really did want peace for both groups and actually have a future for israel.

Here is Ofra at the memorial they had for Rabin in Tel Aviv after the nutcase murdered him.
This tune is called Leorech Hayam (Along The Sea).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn2NWRbqFZg

Arafat himself asked her to sing at the nobel peace prize award in Oslo the year he shared it with Rabin, so a song was written for the occasion and this is it, Paint Box.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KWgz4HzjEk

Now, you might wonder why I post Ofra all over the place.
Well, she was/is a goddess and she can and has reached out to people in a way that others haven't.
Go look at any of her vids on youtube and look for the comments about jews, israel, whatever, then see who leaps to her defense.
Arabs and muslims. They even invoke islamic blessings and prayers for her.
So, Ofra is a bridge between the two camps.
When I listen to her, she resonates my soul like heat resonates the atoms in water as it is brought to the boil.
This goddess is the genuine article folks.

Sid, I hate to be so ignorant... but can you tell me who Ofra is? Googling her... is this Ofra Haza who died from an AIDS related illness?

Yes, that is her Doodah.
However she didn't die, she just left her earthly body.
As you might be aware, we can't die, our soul/spirit goes on and she is still here, I feel her presence at times.

Look at this.

She got her wish, she is flying.

And check this one out too, listen to the words.

Look in her eyes in this pic, can you see the universe in her eyes?
I can see so much light in her eyes it is like looking at a supernove exploding.

It gets worse, Musad collaborated with the Iraqi government starting 1941 to create chaos among Iraqi Jews who didn't wish to leave Iraq, it ended in many Jews "Yahood" getting killed and their property stolen. Criminal were let loose on them with police supervision. Finally most of them left to Israel. My late father had good things to say about his awesome Yahoodi friends during his early years and the great times they had together. It's a huge conspiracy against Yahoodi people, carried out in collaboration with British, German, Israeli and Iraqi, and other puppet government around the world.xTzjsHNVz5Q&feature=relmfu

Ah yes, the ''terror'' against the Iraqi jews.
Done by their own elites.
Thanks for bringing that up, I had forgotten about that.
This is the EXACT crap I am talking about when I speak of the madness.
The arabs call the jews yehudi, being arabic for jew.
Most of the arabs I met, including felestini, don't hate the jews or their religion, they hate the regime and the criminals that have caused so much trouble.

A very telling quote to pay attention to, because it seems to mean NOTHING and yet was identified by the mindcontrolled reporters as 'signifigant'.

"Tel Aviv police arrested 42 activists, which is an extremely rare number, "if not unprecedented,"

What it means I don't fully understand yet, but its worth 'noting'. My spiny sense tingled on reading it.

Hi Lord Sidious I like your agenda, and I'm sure the vast majority of all peoples of the region want peace .The same is in Northern Irland a fragile coalition has kept the lid on the
extremists of both factions. Whether something like this can be achieved in Israel/Palistine would be fantastic.....I still think outside influences might scupper it...
If the NWO factions still have clout in the US , Israel is their main weapon to strike Iran if that agenda plays out.....Any agenda can be changed if the public can be galvanised as
in the former communist countries and Russia itselfe, maybe bloodshed can be further avoided and a Arab/Jewish spring may also happen.
I hope these protests are a start.....Ofra is a shining example and it must be said we don't see enough of everyday life on the TV, its all war and doom 'mind control'
I should know better than to fall in the trap.....Cheers Steve..

Any agenda can be changed if the public can be galvanised as
in the former communist countries and Russia itselfeMy dear, the Russian revolution to bring down the communist regime was carried out by the CIA, KGB, Musad, terrorists. The orders came directly from the Vatican, time was ripe to move the people to the next phase of the game. They just keep moving faces around to confuse people, communism moves to the US, and capitalism moves to Russia, while fascism remains in both countries, backed up by Nazis. The rich and powerful " I am not talking about the known ones here" have no intention of surrendering their power to the people. Governments/puppets get to be super/world leading figures if they successfully carry out their orders, otherwise they become liability and get punished if not executed. It's how the TPTB works and its how religions' deity works. The rest is just a side show.

This sounds like the whole deal in a nutshell. Well said.

One unfortunate thing is that the sheeple are not learning history anymore. If you say that the US is starting to look like the gulag, many won't know what you're talking about. To those who don't know history, all of this looks new! The un-educating of the people has been successful.

The story continues, an Israeli citizen of Moroccan descent tells history of the Zionist movement in Morocco and Israel, what countries made it happen?how were the early years spent in Israel? Big conspiracy to keep Humanity locked in conflict. Christians accusing Muslims, Muslims accusing Jews, and Jews having no idea what's going on, only that European Christian governments want them to have a land on the expense of Christian and Muslim Palestinians. Thus causing major unrest, conflict, mistrust and disharmony that have been effecting the whole world.

The more you allow a religious doctrine to permeate a group of people, the more the doctrine and dogma begins to define the genetics and the people. It is only a matter of time.

Which is entirely the point of the given religions, at their very top echelons.. Time. They play a long game.

Not just the religions but the given tenants of the given social and cultural order. With humans, it is religion as the cornerstone of those aspects, so religion ends up being the linchpin in the charade of control - over long periods of time and development. They experiment with other systems, but religion has the history of twisting the people in the wind, in the best and most unnoticeable (to the general public who never ponder these matters) ways, regarding most people's 'sight'.
