I dedicate this to Brian O'Leary.
It seems worth noting that that gentle, kindly, loving and courageous soul, who so recently gave so generously of his time and energy--a gift which was given to help benefit the causes for which this forum was created-- in my view followed the path of love very effectively , and by doing so, contributed so much to the quest for truth and freedom which is so important, particularly in these times.
I hope we can all better honor his memory here by observing more fully the path of Love in this space that we share here.
I have the following on a poster on my wall which I see every day, and it helps me to realize how far from ideal my own efforts to follow a loving path are, and also helps me to remember how little call there really is to criticize others.
We can share our courageous quest for Truth and still follow the courageous path of Love.
Love
Love is patient;
love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful,
nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish,
nor quick to take offense.
Love keeps no score
of wrongs; does not gloat
over another's sins,
but delights in the Truth.
There is nothing
love cannot face;
there is no limit
to its faith, its hope,
and its endurance
In a word,
there are three things
that last forever;
faith, hope and love,
but the greatest
of them all
is love.
