FYI:

The Pakistani government has imposed new travel restrictions on American diplomats amid the deterioration in relations between Washington and Islamabad.

Sources say the Foreign Ministry has in a letter informed the US embassy in Islamabad of increasing limitations on when and how diplomats can move outside the capital.

The US embassy says it is in talks with the Pakistani government to resolve the issue.

"We are working with the Pakistani government to resolve the issue," US embassy spokesman Alberto Rodriguez said in Islamabad.

The developments come after Pakistani security forces barred at least 10 American diplomats from entering the troubled northwestern city of Peshawar.

Pakistani officials say the diplomats were refused entry for not having No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) -- the legal permission foreigners need to have to enter Peshawar.

The United States has suspended about a third of its annual 2.7 billion-dollar defense aid to Pakistan.

Tensions between the two countries increased following a secret US raid on Pakistan in May that allegedly killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Some White House officials suggest that Islamabad was aware of bin Laden's location.

Washington-Islamabad relations are also strained over a surge in unauthorized US drone attacks in Pakistan and NATO operations along the border in which hundreds of civilians have been killed.

Seeing as a lot of the ''diplomats'' are alphabet agency nuggets, I think it is a good idea for them to do that.
