"We visited the park and talked about why we left the police force, how we are all One and connected and how there is hope for those still in uniform. We also took the opportunity to film some of the local beauty that is an expression of Life and Love. Time to reconnect and enjoy our time here...!"

nice to see humanity aware of the system and know in their hearts it's broken, bad, and against all that is good and pure and true. I wish this young couple all the best the world has to offer... great vid.

The pity of the matter is that as per usual, the good people leave.
That leaves a lot of dirtbags with no balance.
Here is an interview with em.

And this is their website.

Ok, I sent them an invite here.
From the looks of their site and the links they have, I think they will find our corner of the net interesting.

micheal and sarah feeley,
sorry to hear you were rejected by our administrators here at avalon. I do hope that you will re-apply to join. Rob attempted to inform us here of you and I'm glad he did. Seems like you guys would make a great addition here at Avalon.
If you read the invitations thread, which you were a topic of discussion in, I do hope you realize all families go through banterings with each other and won't see this as the norm.
Please if you speak with Rob, tell him he is missed here and we hope he will come back in a few days.
Peace to you both and sorry for the mix up.
peace

It must have taken a lot of courage to quit a job they had been in for so long. I applaud them for following their consciences!
In 1967 (I was 20) I convinced my husband to quit his job as a policeman. He had worked as a Cook County cop (includes Chicago) for about a year and a half after returning from Vietnam. I saw him get progressively more cynical and depressed because of the massive corruption. He probably would have stuck it out but since I couldn't convince him to quit I finally used the "threat tactic" and told him that I was moving back to California. He could either come with me or stay and be a depressed cop the rest of his life. That helped him to quit and ultimately he was very happy that he did. I went to work as a waitress in Southern California and supported him going to college. Back then it was pretty easy to get a job and things were so inexpensive you could easily make enough money to pay for everything with only one person working.
If you have strong principles and believe in freedom and justice it can be very difficult being a cop. You have to harden yourself to do things that are against your basic human instincts of right and wrong. We do have a need for police but as long as humans are corruptible and humans who get power want more power, any position of power will tempt a large number of people to utilize that power in self serving ways. It's human nature. Just as soldiers have to follow orders, so do the police. So even if a cop or soldier starts out idealistically wanting to help people or to serve his community or country it rarely works out that way, especially for cops in larger towns and cities.
There are many good policemen just as there are many good soldiers. Those who are in control and give the orders are the ones who are most to blame for perpetuating and teaching the self serving and corrupt patterns which have been around for a LONG time. It's because of the Internet that we get to see and become more aware of what's been going on since time immemorial. We seem to be in a devolving part of the endless cycles right now as things seem to be getting much worse. But as the negativity gains more power it stimulates the positive to become stronger in order to again reach the balance.

I trust your husband has already said this ... but thanks for doing that!
