Creepy Military Unmanned Airship Mistaken For UFO, Crashes in PA, UFO Sighting News.
Date of sighting : August 2, 2011
Location of sighting: Akron, Ohio, USA, but crashes in Pennsylvania
"Lockheed Martin reported no problems launching an unmanned aircraft called the Hale -D aircraft from Akron, Ohio Wednesday.
Akron Police and Fire was on location during launch but were released after a successful launch.
But Lockheed Martin officials said the flight was terminated at 7:25 a.m. and no one is saying what happened .
Harrison County Sheriff Joe Myers said although it was expected to land in Harrison County , it did not . Myers said he heard it had landed in Greene County, Pa.
Once it was launched people here in the Ohio Valley starting call the 7 Newsroom reporting seeing what they called a UFO.
The aircraft was launched and was expected to hover in an area above Eastern Central, Ohio at about 60,000 feet for an extended period and complete a series of communications tests for the U.S. Army.
The airship was expected to descend in a remote area of Harrison County, where the military owns property.
But again the flight was terminated early this morning.
