Is there a book that contains sensitive information and secrets kept by presidents.
Presidents must keep all kinds of secrets. They have information at their fingertips about which most people have no idea and might not even want to know. The Presidentās Book of Secrets examines all kinds of sensitive secrets which are kept by presidents, and asks the question: Is there a book which contains the secrets.
Although it is highly unlikely that there is a specific book filled with all kinds of presidential secrets, there is no doubt that the president is privy to information that must remain top secret. In this film the question of a specific book is not as important as the kinds of secrets that are passed from one president to another.
Keeping Secrets
Most people are aware of The Nuclear Football, the black bag containing the launch codes that is never far from the president. This bag travels around the world with the president. The fate of the world is in that one bag.
But there are other secrets that presidents share. Every morning they get a daily briefing. Each day the president is enlightened about the issues around the world and American activities, whether overt or covert.
Interviewees
With interviews with Dan Rather, Dan Quayle, Susan Ford, Michael Chertoff, Newt Gingrich and others who have had access to the Oval Office over the years, the film delves into the evolution of the White House Situation Room as well as what kinds of secrets are hidden within the minds of those in charge. And, as one person admits, he wished he didnāt know as much as he does. Sometimes knowledge is dangerous and frightening and as they say, ignorance is bliss. But presidents do not have that luxury.
Some of the things examined in the show are the various underground fortresses where government officials can go in the case of disasters. The question of extra-terrestrials is also touched on and viewers will learn how this is something that has intrigued many presidents through the years. Also, what actually happened in Dallas on November, 22, 1963? Is there secret information about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy
What kinds of secrets beside those of national security does the president know
While examining the various types of things that presidents must maintain complete knowledge of, the program continually wonders if there is an actual book containing these items. But there is no proof of any such book, and, as they say in the show, often writing down the secrets is a dangerous thing to do. It is a fact that there are secrets only a few people on earth know, but the idea that they are written in one book is highly unlikely.
