For the first time ever the United States has lost its AAA credit rating! The S&P just announced the United States credit rating will drop to AA plus! This is an historic event.
The United States went through the Great Depression, world war11, The events of 911 and our credit rating remained AAA! The President should resign immediately!

It should have been done years ago. That said, S&P and Moody's should both be investigated for giving AAA to those loan packages sold worldwide. This also help promote the Credit Default Swaps (derivatives) that help to destroy the world's economy. Where's the FBI? Oh, the government is owned by Wall Street and Corporate America. Never mind.

That's the price of being the President. You take responsibility.
Unless you're Rupert Murdock who blames others, as in 'someone I trusted let me down'. Yeah, by getting caught.
Let's hope there are a few more who get caught now with this situation.

This is the most fabulous news! That crack just heard around the world was the old system dropping to the ground. Now a new one can arise based on equality and true values instead of a debtor society that has kept us locked and chained all these years since 1917.
The few who profited from it will have to seek honorable employment on some other planet if they can find one that will take them ~ as their gig on Earth is over now. Adieu! Adieu! Adieu! Woo Woo! xoxoxox

Responsibility is a tactical term. Simply put, choosing what battles and how to go about them based on your knowledge and philosophy is all you will ever get from a president. Some you'll agree with more then others, but this is why looking at the king....i mean president is beyond your control despite current belief in democracy.
Just saying.

Also, say the president resigns. Then what? How is this beneficial in terms of.....well everything?

our dollar will be worth 50 cents, once it is no longer the worlds reserve currency. AA means we are a risky investment, big business will be afraid to come here and bring jobs.

I agree with darla... it isn't like we didn't know this was going to happen.
Lets look at it from the macroscopic view, the old ways are dividing.......
Lets celebrate it, not use our energy concerning our selves with retaliation
by firing the president. Use your energy to focus and shape the U.S.A that
you really want, stay above the negative line folks.

Why don't we do like Bill Ryan and Inelia? Bill focused on a person, and let the divine force go through him to do something good. How about some of us meditate and ask the divine force to guide B.O. to do the best for the American people? After all, he is in a position of power, and he can do a great deal of good for the people, once the power elite has no hold on him.

Crack? That was nothing. Wait till you hear an almighty bang, and people start running around waving their hands yelling "The sky is falling!" - *THEN* you know it has begun. Yes, the signs are very ominous... The US economy is teetering on collapse - and the MSM (at least here in Australia - check out some of the stories on watoday.com.au if you don't believe me) is even telling us so... But if you think this is as bad as it will get you are so off the mark that you're basically on another planet.
It's going to get hairy - and soon.

Hello Jagman
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.
William Shakespeare
As Darla mentioned, we should be heralding the new, and not hanging the old. What's been done, cannot be undone. Your choice is to move forward positively, without fear.
Suggestion? Start a tinfoil hat business :)
Hang in there, we are all in the same boat

And what about the Super Congress? Ummm... We don't get to have a say, not even under the rouse of a representative. I think La Rouche has something here... restore the Glass_Steagal Act, and then immediately take down the Federal Reserve, along with the Wall Street banks and insurance companies that should have gone under to begin with back in 2008. I personally think that's what the PTB want though. I think it's been the name of the game all along. In the mean time, a select few are sitting on land, water, gold, and assest -both tangible, and hard.

I agree with you, Tane, get Ron Paul in office. Only thing is, I don't think we have the time to wait. I think a lot of people are gonna die if we do. I'm really bad off now but I live like a Queen, compared to most people in the world. And I have to say, I really am a pauper, and I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it, I really don't. I have nothing materially speaking. All that I can give now is me.

Miriam Delcado (sp) gave some insights into this type of thing. She said not only to mediate on them, but that they will realize the wrongs of their way and change. B.O. is owned by Wall Street and has done everything they've told him to do. We should mediate on him rebelling against his masters.

It always amazes me how everyone calls for people in control to resign .... as if it is some sort of punishment....WAKE UP keep them there until they fix it... make it uncomfortable, make it hurt, make them go down in history in a memorable way not in a forgotten way......
Also when someone resigns they get all their benefits etc, its the easy way out .......
As for the US being downgraded ABOUT FRIGGING TIME..... everything is over values and the debt virus is spreading.... time to come back to reality. Sorry but the system has passed the tipping point. China is already making its intentions felt by suggesting another currency is used as the standard... and China holds the most Bonds in the US of all countries so they actually stand to lose the most... but they are clever enough to think past the next 3 year term of office.....
Europe will be dumped next week most probably and the slide will pick up speed, or there will be a pause to allow the rich to get their money out and put it ....????? even they are scratching their heads. Money has no real value at the moment and we are about to realise this.... Still the best thing about it all is eventually it can only get better.....

Rating agencies are as pointless as the current financial system itself. They are just tools to make even more money if possible and create pressure if needed. If they had anything to do with the real world than there probably wouldn't be any country in the world receiving the AAA rating. Again: rating agencies are as criminal as the rest of the whole bloddy financial system itself. Should Obama resign? If he had any decency in his bones he should do it. Should he do it for the current down grading? No, but there are plenty other reasons. Happy birthday Mr. President. Hope you enjoyed yourself celebrating your fundraiser events.

this had nothing to do with the president so much as the snotty nose freshman teabaggers aligned with Grover Norquist and the ALEC deal. They signed unrealistic, undemocratic oaths (the stuff of cults), they have absolutely no idea how government functions and are only in office because of the corporate influence behind Norquist that put them there - the same influence that will "primary" them if they don't do their corporate masters bidding.
The mistake the president made was negotiating with terrorists in a fake, made up crisis

This is inevitable and a good thing.
A ponzi scheme must fail at some point ... there is no option.
USA has been a parasite (financially) on much of the rest of the world for a very long time. The major players finally decided enough was enough and that is why the fed is printing money (not literally) like there is no tomorrow. Without any one else to take on USA debt what other option is there?
The "old" must fall before the "new" can begin.
Sure there will be major "disruptions" ... chaos if you want to use that word.
But it must be done.
Stay strong. Keep as positive as possible. Keep your vibration high. Keep your "eye on the prize".
If you want a *seriously positive* message that all is not doom and gloom (not even channeled but *real* news) then go here:

U.S. Will Roll Out QE3 After S&P Rating Cut, Li Daokui Says
Bloomberg
Aug 6, 2011

The U.S. Federal Reserve will extend its program to purchase the nation’s debts and stabilize long- term interest rates after Standard & Poor’s downgraded its credit rating, according to an adviser to China’s central bank.
The Fed will roll out quantitative easing 3, a tactic to purchase treasuries, Li Daokui, an adviser to the People’s Bank of China, wrote in his microblog weibo.com. Institutional investors will be forced to sell long-term U.S. debt, which may cause financial turbulence, he wrote.
S&P lowered the U.S. rating one level to AA+ from AAA for the first time yesterday while keeping the outlook at “negative,” citing the nation’s political process and criticizing lawmakers for failing to cut spending enough to reduce record budget deficits. The rating may be cut to AA within two years if spending reductions are lower than agreed to, said the New York-based rating firm.
The U.S. must address its “structural debt problems” and ensure the safety of China’s dollar assets, the state-run Xinhua News Agency said in a commentary today. China is the biggest holder of U.S. debts.

I know this sounds bad, but I was almost hoping for an economic collapse when the debate over raising the debt ceiling in the US stalled. And I'm not surprised that we lost the AAA rating, and again, I can't say that I'm disappointed.
An economic collapse, even if it is only small scale, might force some people to realize just how dependent they are on someone else for their everyday needs, food, energy, resources, and get them to thinking about becoming less dependent on government and more self sufficient, it might actually wake them up.

S&P warns of a second downgrade
One day after lowering the nation’s platinum triple-A credit rating, Standard & Poor’s analysts warned Saturday that the U.S. government could face a second downgrade if the economy continues to struggle and the government fails to make the cuts outlined in the debt ceiling agreement.
The ratings agency on Friday downgraded the nation to AA+ for the first time in history, saying partisanship in Washington is preventing dramatic deficit reduction.
