FYI:

Protests over the fatal BART police shooting of a man in San Francisco organized by the hacker group Anonymous shut down train stations following police cutting of cell phone service to prevent protests.

Protests continue to organize over the fatal police shooting of a drunk and wobbly man who was reportedly carrying a knife in San Francisco.

Previous protests have disrupted train service in the area.

To prevent protests from forming the San Francisco BART police have also cut off cell phone service entirely in the areas protestors were suspected to rally.

That has civil rights activists up in arms and has prompted the ACLU to issue a press release saying they would be filing a law suit over the action.

The hacker group Anonymous has also jumped in by hacking BART data and publishing it online which was followed by a statement by the group they would live protests tonight. .

All well and good, but sometimes the cops do actually shoot people for good reason.

I'm incredulous that 3-4 armed cops can't take down 1 drunk with a knife....SAFELY. What happened to protect life?
So, why do they bother training in hand to hand fighting? Don't trust their own skills, is that it?
I guess what they do best is disengage brain and pull trigger....

What happened to the 'Tazer'?It takes too long to kill them.

Anyway, don't tell me that several cops with batons can't take out a drunk guy. Knife or not, they didn't have to kill the poor fellow.

I wonder if it was a double tap to the chest and eye like the unarmed Osama. I think he was dead long before but you get my point... the reaction from the people is a test for them. They needed an excuse to cut communications like cell phones and this was just one of them.

Having done a lot of weapons training, let me tell you this, it is not like in the movies.
When someone is moving around, it is very hard to hit an arm or leg.
Plus, if you miss, you have the chance to hit innocents around you and also the threat is not neutralised.
So, they teach us to aim for the center of the mass, the chest.
That usually results in death at short to medium range.

They are taught to take the target down with the least amount of danger to them and themselves.

Some people don't get the full affect of it and it may not fully work with drunks.
Do we know they didn't try to use it?

Also, it seems I made an error.
I didn't watch the vid as I mistook this story for the other one, the one where they shot the guy with the gun that was later stolen.
Last month or so.
