I've not seen this posted, so apologies if it already has.

Two men from Cheshire have been jailed for four years each for using Facebook to incite disorder during riots in England last week.

[The Recorder] said he hoped the sentences would act as a deterrent to others.

Both men pleaded guilty under sections 44 and 46 of the Serious Crime Act to intentionally encouraging another to assist the commission of an indictable offence.

The Crown Prosecution Service said Blackshaw had created a Facebook event called "Smash d[o]wn in Northwich Town", intended for the receipt of the "Mob Hill Massive Northwich Lootin'".

I don't condone the actions of the rioters - but four years for this??? FOUR YEARS?!
If I suggest something illegal on here (for example, I won't!) is that also enough to send me down for four years?

Again, has the world gone crazy? (crazier?)
Shocked, genuinely. But in a week where people have been jailed for accepting stolen panties, for stealing chickens or bottles of water... I, sadly, shouldn't be surprised.
