The Icebergs Cometh: Retaking the USA Titanic Before the 2012 Elections

http://www.naturalnews.com/033342_2012_elections.html

In the wake of a super-nova of exploded hope in President Obama, a power vacuum is now spinning in our political universe. A desperate need to fill the void (lest it someday be filled with the unthinkable; a babbling Bachmann or weeping Boehner) has led to a frenzy of organizing among mainstream Democrats and Progressives.

Some, like the Van Jones/Move On "Rebuilding the Dream" http://www.rebuildthedream.com/ coalition, are attempting to rekindle that obliterated Obama flame before the 2012 elections. To accomplish this they are strategically pointing the blame finger at "evil corporations," while carefully avoiding drawing a direct line from corporate headquarters (like those of Goldman Sachs, GE, and Monsanto) to the White House. Others, like the New Progressive Alliance (NPA)http://newprogs.org/, led by activists such as Cindy Sheehan, Cornel West and David Swanson, are taking a more honest and radical position, boldly calling out the Democratic Party leadership as sold-out corporate shills, incapable of reform and unworthy of further support. In other words, the power vacuum of the Left has a deeper split within -- a true black hole that threatens to pull all of us into oblivion between now and November, 2012.

Free-floating in the void are a record numbers of left-leaning Americans who lost all hope after what they perceive as Obama's Great Betrayal, followed by the 2010 Supreme Court Citizens United http://storyofstuff.org/citizensunited/ decision, unleashing an unfettered free market for the rich to buy our candidates. (We may now envision them as a far less cool version of NASCAR drivers, slathered with the logos of their corporate sponsors). Many activists have likewise despairingly turned their efforts away from the grim spectre of national politics toward non-electoral campaigning, movement building, and direct action.

Yet we all realize that the 2012 elections will have major consequences for every aspect of our accelerating Crisis: global warming, permanent war, redlining economic and ecological collapse, and the growing power of the National Security State.

We cannot, in the end, afford to drift into personal oblivion, no matter how the Pharmaceutical Industry offers help in doing so. Too much is at stake.

The NPA and a large number of organizations such as RootsAction http://rootsaction.org/ and Progressive Democrats of America http://www.pdamerica.org/ have been hard at work on developing a body of comprehensive new Progressive platforms. This, ostensibly to galvanize Americans to rally again for the values that once defined the Democratic Party. All well and good, but we've got to have inspiring candidates to rally around, don't we? The lesson learned from Obama is that pretty words do not action make -- and the Establishment Democrats and their Wall Street backers tell us what we want to hear in order to keep themselves in power. We also know that our two-party system is walled like a fortress against a third party uprising.

The NPA, for its part, is undaunted by this Corporate citadel that was once our government. They are planning the long-needed coup -- an electoral insurgency of true Progressive candidates to challenge the compromised Democrats, and if that doesn't work, redoubling strength and charging forward as a new party.

Do they have the right positions?

Definitely!

Do they have the support numbers?

Yes!

Can they win?

No.

Not yet, anyway. The problem is that some of the changes the NPA -- or any true Progressive coalition -- will make once in power, need to be made before they can take power.

The reason we now suffer a ruthless Corporatocracy is because we no longer control our own democratic system. Puppet candidates have rigged themselves into office and manipulated our government to hand corporations the keys to the kingdom. We the People are now the rabble outside the gates, reduced to begging the rulers within to please be just a little less ruthless. Funny how they don't listen.

Our elections have been bought or stolen for decades, but the People are only now waking up. Most of the public (including Al Gore) knows that George W. Bush stole the Presidency in 2000, and many are aware (including John Kerry) that he stole it again in 2004. Republican operatives apparently decided not to steal the White House in 2008 once it became clear that Obama was headed for a landslide. But whether elections - or politicians -- are literally stolen, or simply bought (including Barack Obama), the outcome is the same.

The democratic system itself is rigged against us - and this rigging is not just another Progressive issue, like ending the Wars on Terror and Drugs, or securing universal healthcare, or getting the 100,000 toxic chemicals out of our bodies, or preventing Monsanto from taking over our food and seed supply. To offer a descriptive metaphor; these issues and many more are where our ship of state is heading. The democratic process is who is controlling the ship.

Until not only Progressives, but also Radicals and Populists, unite and organize strategically, en masse, to take control of our ship of state, we are unlikely to ever wrest power from the super-wealthy elite and their global military-industrial complex.

So, how is the system rigged against us?

* Corporate campaign finance. Unless you are willing to be sponsored by the mega-corporations, you will never get out of the political gate. That's why it actually makes no sense to say Obama "betrayed" his constituency, or that he's a naive political player (from Chicago? Are you kidding?) Like the rest at the top, Obama is beholden to his powerful corporate backers. Reports from the Center for Responsive Politics http://www.cnbc.com/id/43854224/For... indicate he's raising more money than ever from Wall Street in preparation for 2012 -- as he must! You pay to play. Is Obama a good guy? Is he naive? Is he a Manchurian Candidate? It doesn't really matter. It's not about him. It's about the System.

* Corporate media control of elections. Unless you're saying what the small cadre of uber-powerful corporate media controllers want to hear, you'll be relegated to late-night Public Access and online blogs. And if you are a serious contender, you may not make it within a stone's throw of top-level televised debates (Ralph Nader wasn't even allowed in the audience of the 2000 Presidential Debates, blocked by three state troopers). The corporate media actively maintain the status quo with unrivaled power. Until there is free, fair and equal coverage of every candidate, there will be no real freedom of information within the sphere of elections -- and no real democracy.

* Corporate control of computerized voting machines. If the good guys and gals manage to make it far enough to pose a real threat to the corporate Establishment, the voting booth is where they'll get the knife in the back -- though most of them won't even know it. Over 40 years of citizen investigation has proven that our votes are regularly stolen within secretly programmed "black box" computerized voting machines. These Trojan Horses are owned by a handful of incestuous corporations with long criminal histories and strong ties to extremist, right-wing groups. Their machines now count about 99% of American ballots. Many of the Touchscreens don't even produce a paper audit trail to check the veracity of the totals (though even this audit is not sufficient -- every ballot must be counted by hand, at the precinct on election day, not days or weeks later).

Combine the above with a laundry list of now-standard dirty tricks, from purging the voter lists and voter intimidation to phony robo-calls giving voters the wrong information on how to cast a ballot.

See our list of resources below for more information on how our elections are undermined.

The hour is more than late. We can now say with very little hyperbole that Fascist boots can be heard in the hall, and if we don't want them on the back of our necks, we have to think strategically. It's not enough that we are right -- we have to win. This extremist corporatist junta is ruthless, and if you think things are bad now, just wait and do nothing. Only two things will stop them: a violent revolution, or a non-violent revolution. We prefer the latter.

Currently a number of Progressive leaders are issuing calls for major gatherings, conferences, protests and uprisings in the coming year. So far, these efforts are unaligned, and not focused on a strategic recapture of our democratic process before November, 2012. Many of the leadership say they believe it's impossible to achieve.

It is not impossible.

We -- the Progressives, Radicals, and Populists, who constitute the majority in America -- must focus on aligning strategically to win by stunning landslides in 2012, running candidates on the newly revised Platforms that truly represent the Will of the People. We must first outlaw the use of riggable computerized voting machines and institute a public paper ballot count http://www.votescam.org/Votescam/El... with appropriate procedure and oversight. We must demand full media access for candidates. And we must threaten a full-blown Egypt-style revolution if Citizen's United is not immediately overturned.

It is not impossible.

Now is the time for fierce honesty and foresight, a recognition that business as usual is no longer acceptable. We've got to abandon the "my issue is more important than your issue" mentality that has so long divided and crippled the Movement.

If we begin now, immediately -- today! -- we just might be able to turn the USA Titanic around before the madmen at the helm slam us all into the icebergs ahead.

Ponda, Ronnie Cummins, and every other US citizen:

What I have seen in the last couple of months is a cacophony of activists, each with their fingers thrust deeply in their ears, each listening to the sound of one voice talking - their own voice.

Then, there is the deafening silence of two groups of US citizens: zombies so shell-shocked, all the hope has been drained from them, and the retarded. Before I explain what I mean by "the retarded", I should mention another group we haven't heard from and we will not: the destitute. The destitute range from the long-term homeless to the recently foreclosed and recently unemployed (who are quickly becoming undesirables in the job market.) The destitute are busy surviving, and will take no part in the political process. When other nations shake their heads at the low turnout for US elections, they may not realize how many here in the land where the streets are paved with gold are destitute.

The retarded are not a group with learning disabilities and genetic or traumatic brain dysfunction. The retarded are those with self-inflicted stupidity and ignorance, those who deliberately feed at the trough of the lowest nutritional food available, and are nearly direct-wired into the most inane drivel on their televisions for as many hours a day as possible - finding time here and there to attend a monster truck rally or sit in a dirt cloud and watch race cars go around and around and around and around. When I call these people, probably 40% to 60% my fellow citizens of the US, "retarded", it is said in a jeering tone and with utter disgust. I have heard this group called "sheep" and I think that is unfair to sheep. Retarded are not to be confused with "sheep", an animal that by contrast, uses a great deal of its brain power, has excellent instincts, are usually quite healthy if allowed to graze, and who do select the most nutritious plant species available to them. For most of my interactions with local humans, I peacefully coexist. In spite of the anger in this rant, I do feel compassion towards them. However, during election season, it is impossible for me to pretend that this is a group of intelligent people that just does not happen to agree with me. I believe these retarded people guarantee failure in electing even halfway decent corporate-sponsored celebrities, and instead, gravitate to the most sociopathic two-legged egos with business suits and prom queen smiles.

Frustrated of listening to big-hearted activists who have an amazing inability to formulate a winning strategy on the "big picture" of interconnected problems, or else who insist on beating their heads against an immovable object on a single (heartfelt) issue, I joined with a small group of activists to try to strategize something new. Something different. This group had "Wikileaks" support roots, and was formed at the time Wikileaks and Julian Assange were starting to be targeted. (Please don't go off on a "Wikileaks is CIA!" rant here - I'm just describing the background of this group.) I thought the group would expand beyond Wikileaks support, but not so much. Recognizing that I live in the belly of the beast (the US ), the real nexus of evil responsible for murder, mayhem, and misfortune around the globe, I started think US-centric. Not "local", which is noble, and important, (and does get my attention as well), but local activism is ineffective in making a national change for the better in less than decades. Not "global" either, because the scope is just too big for an ordinary person of ordinary means to effect (though I know that effecting change on a national level in this powerful, insidious country would most certainly have a positive effect on the world.) I started thinking US-centric, on a national level.

I read a lot.

I researched a lot.

I talked with a lot of people, even a couple of "real" activists who have a clue about spreading information quickly and organizing a movement (- something I still am totally clueless about.) One of the activists that I met is in the parliament of Iceland, and Iceland above all nations on Earth have stood their ground against the IMF, have just re-written their constitution, and are actively working to adopt the strongest freedom of speech/press protection/whistleblower protection/information protection ever adopted anywhere. The Icelandic Parliament member obviously has her hands full, so I have not bugged her for tips on repairing the soul of the US - but I have been watching keenly.

I knew we needed a plan - a really powerful plan.

I knew that the plan could not employ any stealth, nothing clandestine whatsoever. With the all-seeing eyes and all-hearing ears of the US government and the alphabet agencies, there would be no way to "sneak up on 'em." The plan had to be so brilliant that it could be hatched in public, and that they would be unable to stop it. The plan had to be powerful enough to stand up on its own - without any charismatic leader(s.) Movements with leaders have easy targets. Holographic movements do not.

So, I spent about 18 months researching, synthesizing, writing, editing, modifying the scope up then down then up again. A final stroke of insight hit when the document was complete: the conclusion was that no changes will happen in the US ... until and unless the entire US electoral system is redone from scratch. So, what had been the first point of an 18-point plan became Phase One - the remaining points became Phase Two.

Phase One involves a constitutional amendment and a law, and that is not something that could be articulated by anyone already compromised (the entire government), so it had to be fully articulated in the legal form and format of a proposed US Constitutional Amendment and an Act. The final edits were made, and The Reset Button document was released.

The Reset Button document was released to a small handful of activists that I kinda know. I knew that they each have thousands of activist contacts, and that it would not be impossible to have a copy of The Reset Button in the hands of a hundred thousand people within a week, and if they created a "buzz" about the document and its implications, it could snowball from there to include millions of people within a few weeks.

What happened next surprised me, but then again, I was only surprised because I had made the assumption that these activists would read the document, recognize the first plan they ever heard of that could actually put ordinary US citizens in control of the US government, and act on it. Activists are supposed to act on ideas, I assumed.

Most of the activists thought The Reset Button was somewhere between "great" and "brilliant." None (of the prominent activists) would say so, publicly. Several of the activists were already committed to another movement, and could not see how to support both. One activist refused to read it, saying she was busy working on a book. She dismissed my notion that it was possible The Reset Button might be the most important thing she had read in decades, saying that her book was the most important thing she had read in decades. (The document is over 60 pages, but I wanted her and others that would not read all of it to at least get an idea of the proposed amendment and law, thinking they would instantly "get it" as to how fundamentally important the idea is. So an "executive summary" about a page long was prepared, and this same activist also refuses to read even that.)

I am currently hammering away at several members of the steering committee for a movement called October 2011 (http://october2011.org), which has attracted quite a number of well-known activists. They have a LOT of heart and soul, but unfortunately, they do not have a solid plan or goal (even though they insist that they do.) I am hoping they will meld The Reset Button Phase I into the October 2011 movement, as the core goal. I'll keep trying. Again, I have no idea how to organize a movement, but they sure do.

I set up a website, and uploaded the document in several formats (to read online and/or download), and started a thread here on July 8th titled The Reset Button, to rally support from other US citizens that are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!. Only one Aussie read it, and one American said he would, and that tread slipped off into obscurity (even despite my "pulling rank" and using my mod status here to make it a "sticky.")

Maybe the time is just not right, and this is an old-paradigm, 3D solution to a world changing to 5D. Then again, maybe that is a lazy attitude of waiting for someone, something to rescue us. I am of the opinion that my test is to keep trying to help out in 3D ways in a 3D world - that is why I incarnated here at this time. So again, I offer The Reset Button document, and invite each of you to be among those that bring the vision (which is not just my vision, but a synthesized vision) to fruition.

Here is is: The Reset Button (http://www.ResetButton2011.org)

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

The good news is that imho the NPA and the "Reset Button" might have something in common. They both might be part of the early stages of a coming change in perspectives for the average joe. What's been going on in Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe etc could also be a part of this coming change. It appears to be manifesting in various ways depending on location and circumstance. It might all be a small part of a much larger picture that might take shape very quickly in the coming months.

There is a lot going on all over the world at the moment and individual ideas and efforts at making things better all add up and will make a difference imho in the not too distant future. The awareness that things are not right is spreading fast and every bit helps.Nothing positive goes to waste. There is a lot of like minded people all over the world at the moment who are all acting for positive change in a peaceful way.Imho there is a shift taking place in the global consciousness right now and it is growing fast.

cheers
