FYI:

More and more Indians are taking to the streets across to publically show their discontent with the rampant corruption in the country.

Massive rallies were also held in reported in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkatta, Chennai, Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi and Bhopal.

Massive protests have also been reported from several smaller cities and towns across India.

The crowds chanted anti-corruption slogans and urged the government to step up its anti-graft activities.

The developments come after India arrested activist Anna Hazare for going on an indefinite hunger strike in protest to the new anti-corruption law

The 74-year-old Hazare, who was arrested on Tuesday, has refused to end his hunger strike or leave prison despite the government decision to release him.

At least 1,200 of Hazare's supporters were also arrested.

Hazare has emerged as a prominent national figure for his anti-graft campaign in India where a series of corruption scandals have hit the government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in recent months.

Congress-led Indian government has promised to increase the penalty and speed up trials for those accused of corruption.

Have been wondering how long it would be before the 2nd largest population would take to stir into action.... looks like TPTB are running out of places to hide, eventually they will end up on an island surrounded by all they have controlled and deceived in the past.... not a good time to be one of TPTB ....

The press states that his message relates to Gandhi's, and reaches especially the educated middle class of India, today high of 300 to 400 million. "There is a growing disillusionment in society at large in the political process and politicians".

There is growing unrest within different societies. I think the Internet is no stranger to this awakening.
