What do you do about these issues?
Right now I am looking for a job but not being successful at all and fees piling up around me. In such cases, what do you do? Do you trust that everything will be taken care of by the universe? Do you worry when you know it won't result in anything? Do you keep thinking positive? Can you even FEEL positive?
I find it hard to feel positive these days, but I realize these are times we are tested on how we deal with such situations. But please share your opinions. :)

Hello Sugarific,
YOu didn't say what type of work you were looking for. I am a beleiver that energy follows thought. So putting in forty or more hours a week looking for work is a good place to begin to nudge the universe to get the right gears working for you. Indeed stay positive, hold am imagine of yourself smiling each night as you fall asleep. Do that everyday for thirty days and your life will change for the better. I would tell everyone I know and their uncles that I needed work and to please pass on any leads. I would also think about creating work for myself. What skill or labor could you provide that people could use: walking dogs, computer set ups, house sitting, selling sandwiches and cookies, tutoring, being a companion to an elderly person, driving people around, doing errands for people. The goal is to do anything to get any money coming in as you continue to look for work that you really want to expereince. What are the major employes in your area,.... tv stations, radio stations, newspapers, hospitals, univerities. They all have human resource departments that wil list job openings. WHat action have you taken so far in your search for work?
Sincerely,
Mr. Davis

A little tip with finding work..... if its not working for you... increase your circle of people that you know. It will come to you. I know this sounds too simple but the reality is the group of people you know are not in a position to help you find work so if you increase the number of people then your chances of being thought about when work situations arise will increase... also "Life always provides" it will not let you down.
Some interesting areas that can create jobs are helping out with museums assisting scientists etc Community projects, look to what people are struggling with and help them.... if you see a lady struggling lifting something walk over and help her, get talking and she will remember you if something comes across his path.... its all about give and take. You can use a computer....how many people can't?? help them, most people if they know you are looking for work will help if they can.... humans can be really good if you give them the opportunity...
And as for doom and gloom.... work in the present.......

I let go of money and love for the material things. All stress and negative thoughts followed the TV out the window. I take joy in the little things - even the physical labor of hauling rainwater in containers to flush the toilet. I have maybe 5 sets of clothes - three I sew my self and hand embroidered and when I feel the need for something new, I just put a new pattern on it or add to the existing pattern. I learn edible plants and walk the forrests and fields and to get them for dinner - oh what blissfull times shared with nature. Through refusing to deal with money as the absolute most important thing in my life I have found more friends because now I can afford hospitality in ways I never thought possible. One friend close by even offers us a warm shower once a week as we by choise no longer have hot water in the tap. He even lets me use his internet. In return we help him chop and haul firewood. We have no oil to heat the house anymore either but got an old stove to coock on and heat the house. And guess what - life has never been sweeter.
I decided to leave the rat race and no longer be a slave of society. The rest took some getting used to and thinking out side the box, but it can be done. I am more than willing to share ideas on how to minimise costs so your time becomes yours to work for you and not some slavefarmer who just wants to get rich on the sweat of your brow.
Our countries deals very different with things and economy isn't the same so some of my methods won't work for all but they might give an idea of how out side the realm of "normal" thinking one can go. In short, live your life for you - not the money system. Find a way around them. Make a list or two and mull it over, brainstorm with likeminded etc.
I hope you get out on top and regain controle of the life you want to live.

Hello Sugarific,
I don't know if this may interest you but you might want to check it out http://www.wwoof.org/
Also maybe if you give your general location with random luck maybe someone reading the post may have a job lead for you. I think it is worth a try.
Also are you willing to travel for work? Any mariners near you? Ever thought of being a mate of a boat for a season or two? Just a thought. It is very hard being twenty and just starting in life, but life is full of opportunities and adventures ... keep your eyes and ears wide open for them, and then jump in!
Sincerely,
Mr. Davis

Everyone is going to have to shed layers, as our world will change, and move away from the current way we do things. feeling a bit panicked is quite normal. You are not alone. It starts with folks who will suffer greatly because of it, especially at the start, because most of the world is clinging to their money and material possessions. It is the world that has been created around us, and it is changing. It would be better to accept the change and shed layers... Folks are going to need to be able to understand that it is possible,,, and they will look to those of us who have already shed layers for guidance. The government of my great nation and state are currently taking 72% of my income!!!! I am left with gas money,,, and sometimes not enough!!! I am getting used to it. When everything collapses,,,, I will not panic.... I am already there!! Cheers, Jake.

We are all going through a period of change, some are coping well some are not..... also we usually only have 200 odd members on line but have over 1000 guests lurking, it can put people off being specific. The other thing to consider is to be able to help one has to actually really help not give it lip play..... if I was in Oz in the same area I would be happy to try to help, being 12000 miles away makes it a bit difficult. They tell me that the mines in WA are desperate for people, but would you recommend someone up sticks and travel on a rumour?? I notice you have no advice for them either? Not a criticism but an observation....I notice also you have no country on your profile so are you of this earth??? or just here for other reasons.....
Don't take offence to my comments they are just how it appears from this side of the fence...

Hi Sugarific, money is used to brainwash us all, and yes it is by making some of us think there worth depends on how much they have, and naturally bills are (negative worth)
however what is bothering, that you aren't making money? OR that you feel you are out of purpose because you can't find a job?
If it is the first, i have no idea what to tell you, as it is a matter of luck, its the only credible explanation i can give as to why some of the smartest people i know can't find a job, while some really shallow others easily find it
(ofcourse those on above average level of intelligence have all found jobs with the big multi national companies a long time ago and they aren't so happy...its clear these companies want them to be machines without any other purpose in life, than to further the companies "success and profits)
but if it is for purpose, then i was thinking of the exact same organic farming volunteer thing Blake has posted about. It would be good for both your life experience and soul. and what better way to connect with Earth than working on land itself?
please don't lose hope at 20 because you don't know what surprise the universe is still gift wrapping for you to give you at 30 or sooner or whenever!

Hello Phillipbbg,
Thank you for your response. I think we are both Avalonians, so perhaps we are both on the same side of fence……. but maybe in different pastures? :) You asked my location. I am American, coastal New England. In many of my posts, throughout the months, I have mentioned that quite often. I don't know why I don't have a flag flying like others do. It would probably helpful if posters could ID me as an American right away. Frankly, I wouldn't even know how to put that flag up. I am a whiz at word processing because of my work, but other than that, I am not computer savvy at all. I am not sure what you mean when you write…..” I notice also you have no country on your profile so are you of this earth??? or just here for other reasons.....” would you please clarify that, and then maybe I could give a response. By stating that you are from a specific country on earth, does that explain the reason why you are here? Perhaps I misunderstood?
You seem to be speaking for all members when you write ….” We are all going through a period of change, some are coping well some are not..... also we usually only have 200 odd members on line but have over 1000 guests lurking, it can put people off being specific”………..I agree that it would appear that many Avaloanians are going through periods of change and that some are coping well and some are not, a microcosm, I believe, of what many outside of Avalon are also going through. But I don’t understand what that has to do with being generous with sharing experiences and opinions. Ulli has been incredibly generous with her talent, her time, her writing, and her thoughtfulness in gifting so many with mini, written astrological readings, and solid, valuable free astrological lessons. Her thread has over 500 responses and growing all the time. She freely gives, as her Avalonians mates freely take. I am of the mind that one pays forward their good fortune. You write of Avalonians being put off by specific, but is that statement really true? How is giving a birth date, time, and location for requesting a written, birth chart reading, for onerself, from a fellow Avalonian, not being very specific? The requests were specific, and her generous responses were specific, that didn’t seem to turn off people becasue more specific requests poured in!. She gave freely. What an incredible human, and many Avalonians participated in requesting her generosity. Yet this young twenty old human did not ask for anything specific, as many of Avaloninas did with Ulli. He did not ask for any help or even any specific information. He just stated his issue briefly, and asked for people to share their opinions of his situation. How non intrusive and easy is that? He didn’t ask for a job from anyone. He didn’t ask for a job lead from anyone. He just asked for people’s opinions; and in my humble opinion he was essentially ignored. He received seven responses, two of the responses were from me, and I believe all seven responses were helpful to give this young human as food for thought which is what so m any people need while pondering their situations. You write that you would help if you weren’t 12,000 miles away. But you could have helped, if you just took a few minutes of your time, remembered what is was like to be twenty, and just gave your own opinion. How easy, good karma is that? Perhaps it would be food for thought to compare that response to the time and energy that Ulli is using to gift so many. My apologies to Ulli, and everyone who requested readings from her for using her thread as an example, but it makes for pleanty of in- your- face examples for showcasing the realities of the Avalonean community interactions with each other, in my opinion. I will say it again, he asked for opinion, not specific information. So perhaps you misunderstood. And if you offered that you heard some specific place was looking for help such as in WA, I have faith in the wisdom of this young human that they would check out and weigh your information, and not instantly act on it. The bottom line is, you don’t have to be in oz to help this young human out. And had you shared your thoughts even briefly with this young person, with over two hundred views of this thread, you may have also have helped several other people out simply by taking a couple of minutes of your valuable time to freely share your opinion. Your response truly puzzled me, especially when you wrote:…”
I notice you have no advice for them either?” Well, as humble as my opinions and suggestions were, I indeed did share my opinion by contributing two specific posts. And as humble as my answers were along, with the answers of others, at least we did not ignore this young humans request for the opinions and life experience of older Avalonians.
I wish you well, and please forgive me if I offended you in any way, it was not my intent. My post was a simple and I believe important observation of the dynamics of the Avalon community that reflect how society usually acts at large, in my opinion.
Sincerely,
Mr. Davis

I just remembered such your from an English speaking country,
another thing you could do is teach English in other countries. you just need a certificate, i will go look for it again and update on this same post here. but with it, you will find jobs in other countries, it won't be great pay (or depends on the country) however they will fly you to wherever.
It would be a great way to see the world, learn from it and help others with learning a new language, while making a bit of money on the side.
TEFL that is the name of the certificate, and they have guaranteed position in many Far Eastern and Central American countries, but also one's in European countries if you prefer that.

Been there, pretty much since 2003 actually.... In your situation, I'd look at jobs I could do for cash until you can find a job that pays good - that way Centrelink won't cut your payments for earning money (just don't tell them of your cash earnings - they won't find out if you don't tell them..). Think of things you're good at, and put a notice up at your local shops offering your services. I used to do reasonably well through that - earning an extra 100 dollars or so most weeks....

Hi, Sugarific-
I will be happy to give you my humble advice about your situation. Yes, your outlook should remain positive. If you become negative, that will be picked up by people around you, including any potential employers you may be meeting with. That being said....it is absolutely essential that you go out and network. Your post does not say whether you have attended college or if you hold a high school diploma. If you have no desire to go to college and want to start your working career now, I think that learning a trade is a possiblity. I don't know if there is work for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. where you live, but based on where I reside, there are always people in need of these services. This would require that you learn these skills from a trade school or on the job training. You could "market" yourself as a beginner who is willing to learn and work hard. If this is something you might like, I would get myself over to every jobsite within your area and start to talk to all the workers. These are the people that could put you in touch with builders, construction managers, etc. that may be looking for some help. Most of us start at the bottom in our eventual careers and work our way up.
If you are interested in going in a different direction, post what your are looking for and the type of work you want to be in and then we can address your course of action more accurately.

I would say there are many options you could think of, but nowadays due to your young age and the circumstances in the world, see what is needed out there in terms of services and/or experience you can offer, or see what's available and make yourself useful in whatever way you can and adapt to what's available out there. No time to be picky.

G'day Sugarific,
It's difficult to give advice without a frame of reference as to your situation.
You mention "fees" yet don't explain what they are...
Are they a HECS debt (or some other form of taxation based education subsidy cost), uni/TAFE fees, speeding tickets or general living expenses?
What are you expecting as a job?
Abattoirs are often after "clean" healthy staff, for example, or is this an occupation you couldn't/wouldn't do?
Do you have a drivers licence and personal transport? Truck licence? Forklift licence? Trade ticket?
Are you country or city? Do you have any previous experience?
Are you after full-time or part-time work?
These all offer different opportunities and saying simply "I can't get work" doesn't give much of a place to start in offering advice.
Maybe you don't know what you want from a job and if you don't know what job you're after how can you get it?
I might suggest sitting down and writing out for yourself what your expectations are in a job/occupation.
Be realistic, if you didn't finish year 10 your not likely to get some jobs.
If you're a computer programmer then you are unlikely to find work quickly so maybe start working on open source projects to get a respectable resume up.
If you're trained as an accountant then go and knock on doors 'til someone takes you on...
How's your health? If it's good then get outdoors and work as a labourer or something equivelant (just need tickets then).
Thought of doing drillers off-sider? Good money there with minimal education requirements and lots of travel.
If you're rural it's alot harder.
Maybe see if there's an organic or permaculture farm nearby (doesn't have to be organic but people who work in organic/permaculture farming tend to be helpful to young hard workers) as they maybe able to point you in the way of work if they don't have any themselves. Just make sure you are respectful.
Maybe try the harvest circuit (fruit picking). Money's not great but you'd be outside and able to see if you like it. Who knows, maybe someone will offer you something more permanent in time.
Definitely Wwoofing is a way to go, there is no wage involved with it (just food and accommodation) but the experience could be invaluable.
If you're urban (city) then go into the industrial area and knock on doors 'til someone says "yeah I need someone".
Might not happen straight away but it will happen.
The advice I gave one of my stepsons was: Every time someone says "No" it just means you're one business closer to the one whose going to say "Yes".
Are you lodged with Centrelink? If so then you should have access to a case worker and/or job network advisor (I think that's right but I'm only going off a second hand memory that's about a decade old). Use the buggars. It's their job to help.
Look at the job board (if that's what it's called now), or its computerised equivalent, at Centrelink or where ever it is you go.
Most important though, in my opinion, is work out what you want to do.
That's first off.
Then try to let it happen.
I've always been told that I seem to expect the universe to do me a favour.
I don't think that's right though.
I let the universe help me by not getting in its way. :)
I hope this has been useful.
Kind Regards, :yo:

Sugarific, you have been given some fantastic advice; I hope you've read it very carefully - each and every line :) - and apply it.
So I am only going to wish the best of luck to you. Know that everything is being sorted out now, and it will happen. You just have to be willing to accept what it is and what it entails.
It's not wishful thinking; it's a law of the universe as we (don't) know it.
It's this message that worries me...
it's not that I can't find work, I'm not able to pass a medical(mineworker).
Not been able to work for the last 5yrs.
I'm terribly sorry to hear that.
But surely a man of your sensitivity could do something else?
Have you thought - seriously -about doing something else?
(I am sure you have, so forgive me if it sounds silly.)
Anyway, the best of luck to you, too, of course.
And to everyone out there who is in the same situation.

To you and all those looking for work, all the above advice are quite good:
enlarge your circle of acquaintances and friends that could help you
give genuine help, those having been helped will have the heart to help
talk talk talk talk to everyone, I mean absolutely everyone, you meet about the skills you have and ask if you could help them with those kills.
Have business cards handy at all time with you, and distribute them - you do not need to be in business, these have to iinclude your skills and your offer for help and your contact information And distribute them at large. More punchy AND succinct you are, better the impact.
Prepare your speeches: what do I bring to you, what does it gives you to employ me at the present time. What will you get, employer, as a plus value from me. WHAT IS THE PLUS VALUE YOU WILL HAVE FROM MY SKILLS, TALENTS, ATTITUDE - why me instead of the more skilled one or the nicer one, what do you get more from me.
Remember that skills are important but attitude beats it all. (positive, motivated, interested, willing)
Love to all of you here unemployed and keep us posted on your successes
LET US KNOW WHAT YOU DO AND WHERE YOU CAN WORK, SCREAM IT ON ALL ROOFS, HERE BEING ONE.
