thank you for this post jackovesk, i posted something a while ago that explained how the likes of monsanto manage to get poor farmers to buy their seeds, despite their evil ways being no secret.

in response someone decided to lose the whole point of it by misleading what the article was about (i know the shorter posts get read much more than longer posts)

So thanks for this, a military operation is exactly what monsanto is, and it has already ruined a big part of the land where i come from and it is unforgivable, but some lands are enough to feed the whole entire race.

I guess a world famine is definitely going to happen, i hope those monsanto people and sympathizers can go and eat the dollar bills they have piled up by then :)

Thanks for posting. This is such an important topic. I went to a lecture regarding pesticides and their effect on bees at the beginning of the summer and raised the topic of Monsanto and their fight to get into Europe. I wanted advice on how to tackle this and the only response I got was to lobby my MP! I have lobbied my MP on various topics over the years and it has got me precisely nowhere. I feel there needs to be huge united push but so many people I speak to are apathetic and not prepared to do anymore than sign an Avaarz or 38 degrees petition. This is not to belittle the impact of these groups but it is not enough.

Not only do they play the game - they're going to kill life on this planet if they're not stopped.

where when they first came out onto the market their GMO seeds were well below the price of normal seeds.

Once the majority of farmers made the switch - they started removing alot of products from their shelves. Leaving farmers with only 1 choice per type of seed they wanted to grow. Allways the most expensive one, with all the "fancy schmancy" unneeded crap in it.

Once they knew they still held the market - by the fact the farmers were still buying from them (they couldent go back to organic as it requires at least 3 years for hte soil to decontaminate from the pestacides) they then started increasing the price on seeds tenfold.

The price of normal seed is still more expensive than GMO seeds. Because of the big switch, seed producers went out of buisness becuase there was no demand. Now you're lucky to find anywhere that can sell you enough seeds to plant a whole farm that is non-GMO, andi f oyu do you'll be paying more for the seeds than the end fruits will give you back.

Stuck with GMO seeds - I have little dobts that mosanto incoporates planned obsilence into their seeds, in the form of "dud" seeds. Ones which do not germinate.

Due to the fact their product never, ever, EVER performd to what they said it could, and since they've been using only 1 type of pestacide for years and years - the weeds and bugs now have a good immunity/resistance against it. Making roundup, also usless.

So Mosanto put in a rewards/loyalty program. You buy seeds from us, you buy all our poisions, you apply it how we tell you too - and if youre crop fails we'll sport the cost of half the seeds you bouguht from us origionaly.

Now money from selling products was never enough for mosanto. They knew that their "GMO" seeds would pass DNA to people who want nothing to do with their product. They knew that if a bee polinates their GMO flowers, then mvoes to an organic field, and polinates an organic flower - the organic plant is now contaminated by GMO dna - and the seeds it produces will be GMO in part. Part enough for them to do a test and claim its their property, and sue the unaware organic farmer for "theft" of their property.

Mosanto has also been doing what's been mentioned above. Going to poorer countries and starting off by selling everything realy low. Once the farmers have started they jack the price right up - followed by their products never growing to specifications (which funnily enough - if taken to court they;d be able to worm their way out of saying its a living thing there are too many things to take into accoun but in a "controlled enviroment" this is how they grow - to our specifications) - which leaves alot of people broken, pennyless and in dispair.

Now we know the GMO plants rae messing with our pollinators. Considering they incorporate poisions into the plant - so the plant produces them itself to help deterr insects - that poision doesnt magicly go away. It's in the fruit of that plant. It's in the flowers. IT kills the pollinators. Coupled with EM radiation and enviromental pollutants - our pollinators are dissapearing, fast.

Once all the polinators are gone -GMO will be the only choice. They'll produce self-polinating plants, that stil produce poision as part of the package to make them insect resistant.

Flash forward to the future and you'll see a very very beautifull, but dead world. Lots of flora and fauna, but no insects or animals, as the plants - by design - are poisioning the things that eat them.

NOONE, ever , ever ever ever, should be able to put a patent, or a timelimit on life. Mosanto's plants are designed to not produce seed that will grow - so you must buy more seeds from them. That's putting a frigging lease on life. NOONE should have let this happen. EVER.
