FYI:

Four US military officials have escaped from a security checkpoint in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

The US nationals were travelling from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad to Peshawar when they were stopped by police officials in Peshawar motorway check point, local official sources told Press TV on Sunday.

The American nationals took refuge in the US Consulate in Peshawar on Sunday evening after fleeing. They were said to have tried to hit the police officers with their vehicle while escaping.

The US officials were traveling in two Land Cruiser vehicles bearing registration numbers, SV 316 and SV 745.

The sources further said that the escaped US officials belonged to the US Army, who were identified as Colonel Stick, Colonel Paul Robrt, Sergeant John Lee and Sergeant Justin.

The Pakistani government has imposed travel restrictions on US nationals and diplomats.

Earlier last week, Pakistan's police stopped several US nationals and banned their entry to Peshawar. The US nationals were sent back to Islamabad.
