Mastercard for minorities? did I read that right, what does that mean? I'm afraid to really ask what they really mean by minorities....

Might argue that 'downtrodden communities' are now the majority now.

This looks like something Onion would put out (the 'ad').

It means exactly what you think it means.

You would be surprised tho, how willing the banks are to give out credit cards to young, jobless people.

Gosh, back in 2000 i was going to TAFE. I was way assleep back then. Saw a Westpac advertisment for a Student visa card with a $500 limit, and i wanted a new pc. I fell for the trap, wasnt long till i was over $1000 in debt purely because of bank fees.

All a trap to catch the young people and get them in the debt trap.

Id have gladly switched cards for the one the OP posted back then lol.

Here's why - I was living at a friends place at the time - not at home. The first place they sent the debt collectors was to my parents, not to me, even tho they had my address. See what they're doing there?

never used a credit card a day in my life and stopped using checks about 20 yrs ago, i pay everything in cash when out shopping, and only use my debit card for online, and the bank charges for that run from 1$ to 2.50$ depending where. The ATM's charge that much for just 20$ of my own money. that's sick. looking to use a credit union they don't charge anything.

Good for you Shadowstalker. Credit cards are trouble with a capital T.... In our younger days, my ex and I thought it would be a good idea to get another card to pay for the first one. Then we got another one to pay for the second one. We ended up with 10 cards! I know - real stupid. But someone had said it was a good way to build up credit. My a**.... It took a long time to get out from under that mess....It's best to just stay away from all credit cards. Don't even use it for emergencies. Not worth it....
