Recently Austin Texas Mayor Lee Leffingwell installed new rules for citizen communication that says a person can't speak on more that three agenda items per session. Many Austin activists are outraged by this dictatorial new violation of the citizens right to participate in local government. Apparently Mr. Ronnie Reeferseed was outspoken on this issue and was warned not to complain again.

So when are people going to finally realise that the game doesn't include the thralls?
They assume we are the thralls.
But I got news for em.

Well..to be quite frank, council chambers, like courtrooms, are places where you have to show respect.
Ronnie should have shown a bit more restraint when addressing council.
The job of the judge is to keep order in that room.

If Ronnie wants to be an advocate, he may wish to refrain from acting like a clown.
If he wants to be a clown, then he needs to join a circus

Interesting logic. Sorry if I do not agree with you, because as I know the two involved individuals are both Homo Sapiens species, the judge is not something more, something above the rest. The despotic behavior of the man is just clear sign of his mental state where he see himself as something which is here to resolve something. And in the name of "proper solutions" he decide who has to behave the way he wants. His formal position makes him thinking he is different, more important, with some kind of godlike powers.

And about respect. People has to gain their respect in front of others, with the intelligent and ethic relation with others.Respect does not come with the position. For me, the persons behavior and how he treats others is the way how someone is or it is not, respected. The guy (Ronnie) is behaving a bit out of the "normal", so what, it's his nature or his way to relate to the others.

And then the things become even more complex, because this kind of dictatorship is very common between judges, which instead to be close to the facts they research and try to understand the situation, they put themselves above the rest and hide behind some kind of written law (written by the way to benefit the ruling class and nobody else) and suddenly there is no justice, there are no people and their life situations, there is just word twisting session and nothing more. Tell me that I am wrong.

Oh, and clowns have right to talk in public too.

Whilst what you say is 100% correct in all your points, I disagree that I have to show respect to any man or woman that does not demonstrate to me that they have earned that respect.
That doesn't mean you treat them disrespectfully from the start, that says more about you than them, but it does mean that you treat them with caution.
And they are meant to be our servants, who are they to demand respect from us?

I like this, Dear Lord, you're perfectly right.
