View Full Version : A terror attack every two days shows Israel's military restraint to be bankrupt

What should Israel do?
If they retaliate for these terrorist attacks the whole world will probably condemn them again, but if they keep doing nothing the attacks will probably increase.

In the 10 days after Palestinian raiders killed eight Israelis on the Eilat highway on Aug. 18, Israel has suffered five terrorist attacks, the latest in Tel Aviv Sunday night which targeted a big teenagers' back-to- school party. Five of the eight people injured were police officers and the club's security guard. Israeli failure to respond commensurately to the Eilat Highway attack, the first in the series, blew another big hole in Israel's military deterrence.

The policy of military restraint pursued by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak was shown by the Tel Aviv attack by a Palestinian jihadi yelling Allah Akhbar to have crossed a dangerous red line: Civilians are being left in harm's way to serve diplomatic interests such as not further straining relations with the new rulers in Cairo.

Israel received due warning ahead of the Eilat highway attack, for which15-20 gunmen from Gaza crossed into Israel from Egyptian Sinai. But no preventive action was taken. Eight Israelis paid with their lives for this restraint and another 33 were inured.

The Israelis are armed with weapons of mass destruction, whilst the Palestinians are not. The war is not balanced and the battles are unequal.

So israel should just do nothing and wait for another barrage of missiles or another terrorist attack just because they have better weapons?

It strikes me that Israel hopes for such attacks to happen, since it rises with its huge arsenal against the small assailants. Otherwise, it would desist and try talking for a change. It doesn't have to be an eye for an eye, for instance, does it?

One day Apprentice Carpenter, you will see that there is no picking sides in this rubbish.
There are both good people and bad on both sides, if we were to make judgements ourselves.
Everytime you pick a side, you pick who your enemy is.
My only enemies are the enemies of all mankind.
My friends in that area are the people in israel and in the palestinian territories who wish to live in peace and harmony with their neighbours.
Until people put down the gun and pick up the plow, you are wasting your time and energy picking a side and declaring them right or wrong.
If you truly want the madness to end, then embrace the people who want peace, regardless of their language, religion or background.
My 2 cents worth.
Oh, and I care, very much I do, about the welfare of the people there.
Trust me on this.

I tire of the conflict, let me show you the way ahead.
It seems that Ahava means Beloved.
The way ahead is to let go of the judgement, the hate.

Ofra Haza: Ahava Lyrics
Songwriters: Frank Peterson;Ofra Haza;Bezalel Aloni

Day after day, night after night
Nothing in love is black or white
Deep down inside, trying to touch
Wanting to say, "I love you so much"

Wish for a star, sparkling light
Don't run away, just hold me tight
Deep down inside, trying to touch
Wanting to say, "I love you so much"

Ahava, tomorrow we will find
Ahava, a way into the light
Ahava, you and I
Ahava

Yo vo cha yom, le cha ve li
Ya vo cha yom, koo lo she li
Bli mil ha ma, bli ema
Rak ahava, le ne sha ma

Ahava, tomorrow we will find
Ahava, destiny is calling
Ahava, you and I
Ahava

Don't run and hide, don't hold me tight
I'm going there to see the light
I wish to know the magic star
I wish to know the ?

Ahava, tomorrow we will find
Ahava, a way into the light
Ahava, you and I
Ahava

One day I will have no enemies.
Hopefully, before my cardio-vascular system ceases working.

Man -

Hold on to the world strongly.

Embrace it

And do good for all.

Don't fall and decline into the abyss,
Life is beautiful, look up to the heavens.

Man, in the world.

Let's raise up our hands,

And keep our fingers crossed

For the good there is in this world.

Man, in the world.

Man -

Hold on to the world strongly.

Embrace it

And do good for all.

May the world go on, and continue to turn

May you be filled with the heart's desire

of the people

Human being, in the world.

Therefore adopt the world into your heart

And kiss the lips of the one you love

Man, in the world.

Man, human being

Hold on to the world strongly.

Drink from the cup and leave nothing over

Rinse yourself clean of every bitter taste

Man, human being.

Know how to give in and to forgive all.

Embrace the world, and go out to join the dance.

Man, in the world.

A b y s s . . .

Look up to the heavens . . .

I would say to Israel
Understand yourselves, see yourselves, forgive them and forgive yourselves, put down your arms, embrace those you have been seeking to eliminate, stop stealing land, love each other. Earth was here before we ever arrived, so no-one has the right to own it.

There it is, the answer to the ''peace problem'' in the middle east.
There is no peace problem, just a control problem.

Pursuing a colonialist plan in the 21st century looks like middle age to me. Israel was the biggest mistake after the second world war, all together with the marshall plan, coca-cola and chewing gums.. What you call terrorists really are people defending their homeland with bits and pieces. Zionism, with all its isms friends, has to get digested and flushed before anything good can come out of this situation. White phosphore, drones, armored vehicles against civilian populations does bring the smell of terror to me. Terrorism has been the tool of the trade for imperialism since it existed. Really, who are the ones imposing terror on others here ?

Just remember one thing people, there are people on both ''sides'' of that damn wall who are victims.
Some felestini, some israeli, both people, both wounded, both my friends.

That's for sure my lord... Collateral damages they call it. Yet they don't know what they die for.

Let's replace the word 'peace' with 'Liberty'. It's a bit old-fashioned to believe in yoking people.

Terrorist!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRgKH0j3yoE&feature=player_embedded

Just a Word

'Terrorist' is just a word, one I wish I'd never heard

When it's used to vilify, without the need to question why

Only fools would swift condemn, that which has not befallen them

Until you know what lies behind, the actions of a tortured mind

Thank your God for sparing you, the suffering others have lived through

Where are the cries of just demand, for Arabs driven from their land?

Blame the victim, turn the cheek, praise the bully, kick the weak!

Mock the man who truth does speak

Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy, greed, corruption, torture, lies!

Blair invasion, sly persuasion, annihilation, massacred nation

Keep on running, karma's coming!

Money talks, truth walks, oil spills, greed kills

Tide is turning, London's burning!

Bombs will fall and blood will flow, as sure as my own name I know

Until corrupt dictators go, brutal, rotten, to the core

Their day has come, they rule no more

Show me the man who will not fight, to save his child, his home, his right!

You can call him what you like, you're not in his sorry plight

Cowards stay and Martyrs go, I know not where, but this I know

Speak your truth and stand your ground, fight your corner

When all around, point the finger, purse the lips, pin the label, 'Terrorist'!

Just a word, but one that sticks, even when the cap don't fit

But for the grace of God go I, remember that, before you cry

False accusation, names of shame, at those who may not be to blame,

Their crime, refused to play the game, of meek acceptance, dumbing down,

Your life, your choice; Warrior / Clown
