I have a niece that has been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and for those who may not know what Chiari is, here is a definition copied from Wikipedia:
Arnold–Chiari malformation, or often simply Chiari malformation, is a malformation of the brain. It consists of a downward displacement of the cerebellar tonsils through the foramen magnum (the opening at the base of the skull), sometimes causing non-communicating [1] hydrocephalus as a result of obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) outflow.[2] The cerebrospinal fluid outflow is caused by phase difference in outflow and influx of blood in the vasculature of the brain. It can cause headaches, fatigue, muscle weakness in the head and face, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, nausea, impaired coordination, and, in severe cases, paralysis.[3]
I have been searching for alternative treatments that might help her but I have come up with a total blank. So I wanted to ask my Avalon friends if anyone has had any experience with Chiari, do you know of any nutritional/homeopathic/other means of fighting the malformation, just anything at all would help.
Thank you!

After thinking about this, I think you need Ofra.
This isn't about your situation, but the sound of it to me and the feelings I get, is what I want to transmit to all those who view it.
So, I am calling Ofra, our goddess to help you.

I've never heard of it before today. I'm sorry she is dealing with it, and offer you all the positive energy I can to help you find something on this. Hopefully someone here does have some experience with it.
Much love,

Providence, sorry, I don't know about it either. I am sending waves and waves of healing energy to your niece.
update:
Let me do some research this weekend. If you are open to energy medicine (where a healer works on the human energy field), I think Donna Eden is among the best. I'll gather up some info and post it.
all love,

Hi Providence,
I recall one little one whom was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation at our local children's hospital in years past. It's quite rare isn't it (?)
I wish you and all your family (niece) the best and am sending much love and positive thoughts.

To my Avalon family, thank you for your blessings, your focus of love and healing. There are just some things that we face in life that have no easy answers or remedies. There must be a lesson to learn here, an opportunity for spiritual growth. Thank you!
Peace, love, and gratitude,
Providence

I have seen two persons, one kid, one adult, who had this malformation and lead pretty normal lifes. The aldult had some headaches at times and imbalances but not enough not to work on light jobs, the kid was almost perfect.
The kid had to have surgery. The doctors inputted a tube to evacuate the liquid so that the cerebellum would not be compressed and mental abilities not lost. Every 2-3 years, the tube had to be replaced. I just hope that, if in the US, the parents have medical insurance. Surgery has to be done very early to keep her brain working properly.

I was together with a guy who had this in my late teens/early twenties. He spent alot of time trying to come to terms with this, and he was in a lot of pain sometimes. But he learnt to 'live' with it. I have no contact with him today really (bad break up!), but I know now that he has come to peace with it and lives life to the full, there are just certain things he is advised not to do. What he did then to cope with many of the symptoms, and I'm pretty sure he does now too, is smoke cannabis. You don't say how old your niece is, so I don't know if this is an option - or even an option you and your family would think about. I just know he had a hard time with the pain as a young person - and he found that smoking cannabis helped him out as he got older. I even remember going to an 'aura' healer with him as he was fairly desperate - he was not what one would call a spiritual person. I don't think this helped him actually, and she spent most of her time telling me about the spirits in the room that wanted to talk to me, which at the time (i was only 19 and had totally come away from spirituality) I thought was just freaky. What I remember most was how it affected him psychologically (apart from the pain), the whole 'why me?' question.

Morning...
Have you looked into cranial-sacral therapy? I did a real quick search and found that it was helpful to many people but the touch has to be even more gentle.

Just FYI, I've had cranio-sacral therapy done, about 15 years ago when I had chronic neck pain. After years of pain and trying other things, a 10-session weekly round did the trick. The pain became less and less and finally went away. It's amazing that something so light and gentle can have a great effect on the body.

Providence, here is the promised information on Donna Eden. I first studied her work about 8 years ago and she impresses me as one of the world's best healing facilitators.
Here's what wiki has to say about her:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donna_Eden
And here is her/her husband's website:
http://www.energymed.org/
She has a training program, so there are practitioners skilled in her methods--you should be able to find a list of them on the website. I considered taking them myself, but couldn't swing it at that time in my life.
All love,
Marianne

i have read through all of the posts... just want add a good acupressure or acupuncture therapist could help.... also in Tucson, Arizona there is a very alternative Chiropractic group. The name of the place is called at-ease chiropractic. They are easy to find on the internet. They are very gentle with their approach -working with the Sacrum, Occipital regions and the spinal fluid (subluxations) in the spine.
I wish you and your niece peace

Hi Providence.
So sorry to hear of your child's situation. I am sure that you have been through quite a lot trying to get answers. It is so difficult for Western medicine to treat Arnold-Chiari syndrome (not to be confused with Chiari-Frommel syndrome). Generally the condition is due to a deformation of the skull which the brain is unable to sit within properly. As I saw a few people recommend the best source of tx has to do with attempting to manipulate the skull, depending on the age of the child the younger the better. Before the skull plates are fully developed. There is a specialized type of massage that must be done by a massage therapist trained in Cranial-Facial (not sacral) massage. Although massage does cover cranium to sacrum this is something different. Many chiropractors are trained in this but the best I have experienced are Licensed Massage Therapist. Also, because cranial-facial massage has much to do with Pressure points accupuncture also may be of benefit. As a last resort if these measures are tried with no results then move to spiritual healing. Do much research in this area first!! There are many charlatans in this area.
Best of luck to you and your child. You and the child are in my thoughts and healing energies are sent to you. May the source guide you to what you need!

I have to share this....
As some of you might be able to identify with, I am considered to be abnormal (crazy) by many of my family members because of where I stand on a wide variety of controversial topics. I believe the body has the ability to heal itself if you can eliminate the toxins (so much of the food in the local grocery stores is nothing more than poison, fluoridated water, pharmaceuticals, etc...), ingest nutritious and wholesome foods, and provide the body's immune system with the tools it needs to do its job. I don't know how effective this would be against Chiari, but I am of the opinion that it certainly isn't going to make it worse and could only serve to at least alleviate or lessen the symptoms.
I have been trying to share the information that many of you have provided with my sister and my niece with no response, no acknowledgement, just silence. My niece, and now her own daughter who is only about 7 years old who was also diagnosed with Chiari, have just had surgery to cut away the base of the skull to relieve the pressure for a while.
I am sharing this because many of you have been so thoughtful, so caring, and provided good sources and advice, but I am hitting a brick wall and don't have much hope that I will be able to have any influence on this situation.
Thanks to my Avalon family for being so supportive, maybe a seed I planted will slip through the cracks and root someday, that's my hope.
Peace and Love

Dear Providence,
OH DO I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!!! I literally have quit giving advice within my family& friends. After you tell them what they need to do, which usually means taking control of their health & major lifestyle changes, they tell you that the Doctor they are seeing says they just have to take this medication. Or I always love "But DR. OZ Says...". (Not that I don't love Dr. OZ because I do, just many people don't understand all that he teaches). I also have a niece with health issues and I have run up against a brick wall getting my brother and sister-in-law to try other approaches besides just medicine. I have come to the conclusion that these are the times when this must be life lessons that these souls are suppose to learn something from and that I can only stand by and send my love. I do believe that there are some illnesses that are part of the the scenario that we planned for our trip back to this plane of existence. This is the only way I feel that one can justify why a child is born with a condition that causes such pain.
So if you make suggestions and they are not listened to you have done your part. Then all you can do is step away from the situation and send love and be a listening ear if and when they may decide to talk to you about your niece. As the saying goes "Let go and let God", perhaps your family will see the light. Sometimes these situations just become too much for the family to deal with and then having to make sacrificing lifestyle changes on top of it is just more and they can do.
Best of luck. All the best to you and yours1

Very good advice Amysenthia, thank you so much!
I try to justify my family/friends silent responses by remembering that people are just on different levels of understanding, like you said, they have their lessons to learn and this situation is something may be what they need to experience and grow. But then there's this other voice that says, if I am here and supposed to be helping others, why is it so hard to break through the barriers of resistance? As you know, it's difficult to feel as if you have something to give, something that is very useful, truthful, real, and yet you're voice just falls on deaf ears.
I would feel very alone if it weren't for my Avalon family!
Much Love!

Hi Providence,
I don't know what to suggest at the moment for the condition itself, but as an interim measure have you considered something like cannabis oil as a way of managing the symptoms? In the meantime I'll get searching the net too. If two of us get to work searching the net it's already halved the load :-)
Let's not hope we find something, let's be sure we shall :-)

You are not alone, I wanted my sister (now deceased) to read the MMS literature I printed out for her (cancer), and she asked me if there were any side effects, I told her I hadn't used it yet, but that I read that there could be some nausea involved and vomiting if too much is taken. That was the end of the conversation, and death from chemo eventually occurred. That barely scratches the surface of reactions I have had from ppl, same with chemtrails, etc. Anyway Im getting off topic here. Welcome to club "Crazy".:fish:
