Are women more afraid of Death than men?

I feel that a woman is wired to protect her offspring. I believe that the fear of death is really a fear that she cannot protect her offspring.
Even pre or post children. The hard wiring is inherent.

I think it totally depends on the situation a person is facing,. There are stories of ´ordinairy´ people that do heroic acts when it comes to ´the moment´ of truth.
Will I run, when someone points a knife or gun at me? Will I fight, when someone touched my loved ones? I dont think you can see in advance if you are afraid of death yes or no when it really comes down to it.
Also theres a great difference between sitting in your chair behind your PC thinking whether or not you are a afraid of death, or facing a potentialy lethal situation which requires immidiate action..
As for this OP, This sequence/scene does not prove anything, since its a movie, and even if your intention is just to illustrate your 'hypothesis' It still doesnt really reach me.
I think intrinsically, (looking solely at our 'being', not the way we are conditioned) there should be no reason AT ALL, to assume that woman are more so susceptible to the fear of death than man..
Taking into acount the comment Tatoday made, I think the question might aswell could have been made the other way around. And even if ''fear'' translate into saving/guarding their offspring, I would rather call it bravory :)
In the end though, (sitting in my chair behind my PC) I think it totally depends on the way one is conditioned to percieve death, be it socially, religiously, or just by the sheer thought that there are still alot of things out there one wants to do.
Enough reason to fear,.. but thats all in the head. When the time comes you'll know it, or not,.. untill that time who can tell?
Sorry, even though statistically it could be proven, or the other way around, intrinsically this feels like a very shallow postulation.
What exactly are you trying to imply with this post in general terms?

I agree with you Syl. It's not until you're actually facing a situation that you'll know how you'll react. It's easy to sit back and say what you'd do when nothing is actually threatening you....

Women are not afraid of death any more than men are. BUT they are much more protective of their kids. It's definitely a maternal instinct thing. Thats why they would lay their own lives down for their children.

I have asked many if and/or why they are afraid or not afraid of death. I have not noticed any sex variation in it.
