Hundreds of meditators are converging in public spaces in London to take part in ‘flash mob’ meditations. The pre-planned events have startled passers-by when, following a signal, groups of strangers seemingly going about their business have suddenly sat down to meditate together.

I think this is an amazing idea. I started Transendental Meditation through the Meditation Trust 2yrs ago. I would never have been able to afford to learn otherwise. Im surprised I havnt had anything through the post from them about this, they usually send me info. But then I dont live in London. Group meditation has been proven to have a positive affect on on the surrounding community. Brilliant idea. Thanks Muzz.x

As soon as we as a people on a wide scale learn the power we have within and collectively there would be a huge change on this earth for the better. Bring it on.

I really like the idea and hope that this becomes an everyday occurance, all over the world.
The only qualms I have is the use of the term "Flash mob" . Kind of makes me shudder. Mob has negative connotations, for me. But then again, that´s ego talikng.
If I were General Manager of the Universe ;) , I would call this "a concert of silence" ; taken from the movie The Green Beautiful (end scene, @ 3:05)

While watching another movie a while ago, I was fascinated by a small contribution given by Prof. Roger Nelson.
He spoke about a random number energy generator that measures global consciousness and I followed a couple of rabbit holes and found this:-
Here he is explaining the Global Consciousness Project.

And another...

Right at the end he says: -
"This is my opinion...if the meditations and the intentions and prayers are directed towards a better world, I think the...what I imagine to be a global consciousness, will be pleased about that and may react. "
I definitely think that the people meditating have an effect on the environment and if there ever was something like this in my area, I would attend.
Meantime, I do what I can right where I am. :)
