I felt myself addressed...especially when I saw the "dilettante" part...
Speaking of 'tante' ....
And being true to form...
What else is there to do when reaching my age?

I was hoping that that was a photograph of Barney Fife in drag. Then I realized it was Mick.
Am I the only one that sees a startling resemblance there?

For some reason, this picture reminds me of a book (go figure) written by Charles Williams, a member of the Inklings, along with CS Lewis, and JRR Tolkien (and ER Eddison? Not sure...). They would meet in an Oxford pub weekly, and discuss whatever project they were currently working on.
I finally figured it out, they both (the book, the picture) have a severe integrity.

Sierra,
I have this picture from a website I love/Facebook page/ called Morocco Art and Architecture. This is a lantern made out of wood with a strong Islamic/Eastern pattern design, essentially based on what we call today 'sacred geometry'. Many artists, writers and visuals, have a strong connection to those ancient designs.
May be that is the link.
Today is a headache day.
I wanted to ask, if there are interesting articles that I want to post a link to here, but I don't want to start thread every time (unlike the natural trend on the forum) can I link them here? Or is there a better place for them?
Something like this:

The Here and Now thread has morphed into a variety of functions over time,
as it moved from quaint country Village to something resembling Greenwich Village...
Like a magazine it is breezy, stimulating, varied.
But if you want more Avalonians to look at your article it would be best to open a separate thread.
Meanwhile here you would get lots of views, but mostly from non-members, lurkers,
and the regular Villagers, of course.

Funny, one of the dreams I had, Playdo and I were visiting an old apartment of his (he knows which one) and we encountered the current occupant, a slender blond haired woman, and several times I embraced her, no words just comforting her. She had taken on the approximate persona of someone I worked with many years ago, named Carol, one of those dream like it was her but it wasn't her scenarios. The place had been remodeled to be all white with blue-green trim and accents throughout. Yours is the first post I have seen on PA, this morning. Earlier in the dream, my family and Playdo's family were all inhabiting this rather large house, which has popped up in the dreams several times over the last few months.

Very interesting... Synchronicity? I've seen such strange and lively dreams lately that I hardly can make any sense of them. I'm just glad that at least sometimes I am able to have light dreams instead of the heavy ones. That last dream before I woke up had a unique feeling to it and it the comforting being in it didn't feel like just some fragment of my subconscious. Actually it's touch felt very real and I woke up to it, I would actually have liked to stay in the dreamstate with it for a little longer.

Thanks for this Gio.
Bryan Ferry is a true gentleman, with impeccable manners.
Born in poverty, a miner's son, married an elite über-Bitch.
She fooled around while he was on tour, and then divorced him,
and on top of that he had to pay the largest divorce settlement in British history.
(Which was later topped by Paul McCartney's)
When I was already married to my Costa Rican husband, who was then a diplomat in Barbados,
Bryan would hang out with us, and was incredibly generous. I guess it was because except for me not one of his wife's entourage paid the slightest attention to his recently widowed mother, whom he had brought to Barbados. Bryan was always grateful to his parents, how they supported him to get into university and made great sacrifices for him. Few people know this about him, how caring he is. And his loyalty got him into trouble many times, because he attracted hangers-on who were quite parasitic. I guess that comes with the territory of being a star.
I have a lot of anecdotes from our times together, but perhaps it would be tasteless to put them up in a public forum, so I will restrain myself.
About a year before I met him I had just met my future husband, and even before I had developed any emotional bond with him I dreamt I was married to him, and that a British rock star was traveling with us, sitting in the back seat of our car. And all that came to pass. When Bryan's vacation was over, he told everyone to return to England, and that he would stay on longer. So they all flew back on Concorde- wife, mother, nanny, and four sons. He stayed on and invited us to eat with him every day.
After I moved to Costa Rica I was so deeply engrossed in dealing with culture shock that I ignored letters which came from the Ferrys. Found out in the press about his divorce and remarriage. I know he made an album called "horoscope" ...which I always thought was about me.
When we first met I asked him "When will you make another album like Avalon?" and he replied: "you tell me...you're the astrologer" Funny Bryan. I wish him well. He is aging beautifully. Has five planets in Libra....like several Here and Nowers I know.
I've always imagine Bryan Ferry as you describe him. I attended two of his concerts. He has the brilliance and the charisma that pervades the entire theater, and he is still a "huggable" and a "close" person.
Thanks a lot Ulli for your memories. :)

:) Hi Marianne, I always think of Leonard Cohen's song when I hear/see that name :) I was thinking as I took that morning walk about how the birds and all the other ones of the feathered and furry respond to the degree of light coming in again after winter and not the.. I've lived in Sweden in a rural far off cottage for some years and took notice of the exact date long before I new the dates of ceremony or Celtic calendar dates.. the second of February.. no matter what the weather the light signal life again, It's called Imbolc and is the date/myth of the goddess again rising after her resting and protecting her offspring light.. it blows me every year.. and or whatever myths we dress nature up in it is still spot on in a deeper sense.
I guess it always gets to me and I don't want to express it af if not important with people suffering this water stand down south but my mind is on the others.. that can't move themselves away from the situation ( save the birds then).. just feeling sad and futile I guess. But it's right as you say.. I will and am envisioning that calm after the storm :) xxx

Dan33 is Aries, which is the 180 degree opposite of Libra.
What Libran's express, Aries appreciates and actually chases.
I have a feeling that Bryan Ferry might have had an easier life if he had had more planets in Aries.
Each signs needs to study their opposite sign and adopt some of those behaviour patterns
in order to find perfect balance (and therefore power)
But try telling a water sign personality that
when they are in the middle of a melt-down.
All three water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) are opposite the three earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo),
and the moment one of those earth people tries to put some of that earth on top of their waves
they run the risk of getting a ton of mud flung back at them.
Best to wait until the waters recede a little.
Meanwhile Libra is so fearful of performing the slightest misstep, and then suffer the subsequent guilt and shame,
that a dose of Aries' brashness and simply lifting them up and spinning them around a few times can break that spell.
And of course, Aries needs to take classes fromLibra in diplomacy. See how it all fits, once it is understood?
The main thing is that each person gets to the point where they want their consciousness to lift them higher
than their birth sign and planets ever can. For that one first has to learn where the traps of each sun sign lie.

Perhaps a bit of that weather "voodoo" that you "all" do???
Southeast usa about to get smacked with a severe ice storm. Remember a couple weeks all the problems only a couple inches of snow caused Atlanta.
... well if this plays out as predicted it will be *dramatically* worse as due to the southern climate they are suggesting a *massive* ice storm.
Much worse than snow.
It is heavy and accumlates on electrical wires as well as all the trees breaking off many many branches falling onto homes, roads and yes margaret ... electrical lines.
If it comes to fruition (if) there could be literally millions of people without electricity for who knows how long???
In the parts of the country that get things like this on a seasonal basis it is sort of a natural thinning kind of thing (like forest fires) taking out the old and weakening branches. Deep south ... to have some heavy ice on trees that are not used to it???
Anyway ... no wish to cause fear but putting out the word (many in usa are now aware).
Interesting on the CNN vid (included) the guy suggested "armageddon" ... which in these days of weather wars may not be too far from the truth???

I often feel frustrated by the academic slow progress. I know it is a good but tediously slow acknowledgement that we differ less than we think us too.. for sure there's variations to our expressions of problem-solving that is appropriate to our needs but in my observation and experience there's very little that differs us as animated within a physical expression. I can so relate to the different life forms.. and also living closely in a tight knitted relation I can testify to the deep emotions and sense of humour (or life force) and the intelligence we share. Sometimes I feel we are indeed our own worst enemy..
Anyways.. silly happy to see him kicking the analog butt :)

A 4,300 mile long and 9 mile wide green wall of trees is being planted across the Sahara desert of Africa. When complete this wall will span the entire width of the continent and encompass 11 African Nations who have committed to participate in the Great Green Wall Initiative (GGW). With this project, communities can see how coming together on large scale environmental issues can produce viable solutions that have a model base derived from nature. Edges between two ecosystem, like the desert and the man made forest line, provide the most ecological diversity which results in a resiliency and tolerance to weathering climate extremes. The success of this project is predicated on humans encouraging and enhancing this system not destroying or degrading it over time. To find out more about this project visit:

My thoughts are with those affected by the fires in Victoria and South Australia as well as those who may be affected by the heavy rains in Queensland and Western Australia.
My condolences to those who have lost their homes and my thanks to the emergency workers (both voluntary and professional) who put their lives at risk to help others.
I also hope the drought breaks soon for the farmers across the Eastern sea board. It's a neutral ENSO atm so hopefully that will mean it will be soon.
Yes, it's a sunburnt country and we're used to these extremes but sometimes even old cockies look to the sky and curse.

The star system of 'Sirius', is so close to us, even on that expanded map..that it cannot be separated from the illustration that is supposed to represent the earth.
On my monitor, for example (56") I measured 35.5cm from 'earth' to canis majoris, which is approx 3850 light years away.
Sirius is 8 light years away (on the same vector/direction as CY canis majoris). If you do the math...that would place Sirius to be 0.07cm away from the 'earth', on that expanded map. Which is more than half inside the drawing that is supposed to represent the earth/star.

I have a 13 years old boy I keep home during the week because his farming household lives too far from the city for him to travel daily to his specilaised school (the same as my daughter).
He was in a very bad mood yesterday, we did not know why. My daughter thought he had been bullied. Today I asked him, he said no. Then i started to guess: You are in love I said.
He blushed and said "do not tell it to my mother ok?"
He wants to ask the girl out, but does not know how and he is afraid of rejection. He did not stop asking what were his chances. I told him he would have more chances if he puts his thought and actions into it.
So now, I am here with him, making a card, stealing one of my daughter's numerous bracelets for him to put in the card and to give the girl when he asks.
Truly touching.

Let it be done.
The overnight wind here has dropped. Hoping the storms in the UK have eased by now. Some people on this forum have been reacting negatively to our influence the weather. They fail to realize that there is no hands-off position in this regard - we are causing the weather in the first place, just as we are causing Fukushima and other pollution - by material and other means. I notice the partial overlapping (albeit in very different circumstances) of Carmody's solution to radioactive water (with nano particles of aluminum) and the likely cause of stormy weather patterns (nano particles of aluminum in chemtrails).

Here and Now I am pondering my admiration for Henry Miller. I came across this link and it posts Henry Miller's Notice to Visitors that he wrote while living out his later years in Big Sur. After reading it, he sounds like a Discordian before Robert Anton Wilson was forging that path. Anyhow, I thought that maybe some of y'all might enjoy this:

That's worth quoting in full:
The undersigned wishes to inform all and sundry that he has long since left the Abode of Peace, that he no longer has any comfort or inspiration to offer, and that even the migratory birds avoid this spot. Prayers are offered up daily — without charge. The garden has been transformed into an open air Vespasienne. Look toward Nepenthe when you water the flowers. If you are seeking Truth travel a little farther south : you will find it at Ojai Chez Krishnamurti. Be kind to the children – they abide. For a metaphysical treat stop at the Big Sur Inn which is also a haven for stray cats and dogs. Life along the South Coast is just a bed of roses, with a few thorns and nettles interspersed. The life class meets every Monday regardless. Refreshments are served when demanded. Those interested in celestial navigation are advised to first obtain a rudimentary knowledge of integral calculus, phlebotomy, astral physics and related subjects. The use of liquor is strictly forbidden on interplanetary flights.
When you come please be so kind as to check your neuroses and psychoses at the gate. Gossip may be exchanged during the wee hours of the morning when the gremlins have left. Please bear in mind that this is a small community and news travels fast. (Carrier pigeons are provided when necessary.) Fans and other obnoxious pests would do well to maintain silence. Questions relating to work-in-progress will be answered in stereotype fashion in the columns of the Big Sur Guide at the usual space rates. God is Love — and in the ultimate Love will prevail. Remember, man is the ruler, not Saturn! Let us do our best, even if it gets us nowhere. In the midst of darkness there is light. “I am the light of the world,” said Jesus. He said a mouthful. Light, more light!

The saga of our building permit just became an epic of biblical proportions.
No one, no one, can possibly imagine what I suffer in this country.
I nearly had a major melt-down moment today, when they rejected our application for that first cabin.
I would just be happy to put everything on wheels, (supposedly no permits are needed when you have a trailer)
but the electric company won't turn on our meter unless we produce proper building permits,
and even though this first little cabin is only 30 m2, they (municipality) sent the application drawing back,
unapproved, saying that the various dimensions of doors and windows and walls didn't add up properly,
and now they want us to go to an architect.
And still husband is refusing to offer a bribe. The corruption is unbelievable.
The problem was that I was told to do a 6mx6m square and then someone at the municipality, other than the chief engineer
told my husband to make it 5m x6m, and call it a guard house. Shouldn't have listened.
Which meant the engineer in charge saw my design, realised that no way is this intended to be a guard house,
since there was even a small kitchen island in the drawing,
then the games began.
My husband should have just handed him a hand-drawn pencil drawing,
not a Google SketchUp printout.
Oh, yesterday I also stumped my toes against the bed leg, and didn't put ice on it right away...I can hardly walk.
So I'm feeling sorry for myself. And husband is still staying with his widowed mother
when none of the other kids can be found to spend the night there.
Now I feel better, knowing that someone, somewhere, will read this rant.

Logic like that doesn't work here, where all conversations are games, and the real communication happens at more hidden levels.
I never learnt their games, and it took me years just to understand the basic rules.
He already knows that if he says anything about being a doctor, they will want free "consultas" for the rest of their lives.
Just mentioning that he is a doctor opens endless fleabags. And if he says "make an appointment with my secretary" they get resentful, and we had better move to another municipality.
The best approach is either to bribe everyone as you go along, or stay way under the radar, and really really humble.
He has already pissed off the mayor who offered to just go ahead anyway, and he would sort it out later with the engineer, but that is one game my husband will not enter.
The straight and narrow path is getting narrower all the time. We decided to go by the book, and they are throwing the whole book at us. There will be rewards later on.

Now I feel better, knowing that someone, somewhere, will read this rant.Sending positive vibes and toe healing energies.
One time (decades ago), I got a notice from the IRS. They said I owed over a thousand dollars in back taxes and penalties. I panicked, at first. But I have a relative that is a tax attorney! So, I went to him. He looked over the IRS notice, and asked me a few questions, realized it was a number of years old and I didn't have any tax records...and he said: "Pay it. Put it on a credit card if you have to. Just get it over with. You won't win with the IRS."
So, I stewed about it for a few days, and then I decided to see what I could do. I was already a heart-centered person, and decided to call the IRS, and see if I could get someone to help me. I was very calm, respectful, spoke in a very straightforward manner...and I asked for help, several times. I asked, "will you help me?", and then waited for an answer. I enlisted the person at the other end of the phone line for help. They decided to help me.
Maybe 6 or 8 weeks later, I got a check from the IRS for about $900. (It was my money - I had paid taxes, but the paperwork was not right, and I did have to sign an amended return. There were no penalties.) I decided I wasn't going to say anything to the tax attorney relative who had "assisted me" (for free) with the legal advice to just pay the money. But later he said something like, "So, did you get that IRS issue taken care of?" I told him I got a check for $900 and his jaw hit the floor. He said that he had never heard of anything like that.
Ulli, the reason I tell you that story is probably obvious to you. It just came to me that you might have success if you can enlist someone in that office to help you.

All three of you, Eaglespirit, Carmody, and you, Dennis, think like me.
I guess that's why we found one another here.
But this is not about me...this is my husband's test.
This is about him unifying aspects of himself, by seeing himself mirrored in these government people.
Also how he can gently lure his bureaucrats away from their power games to becoming civil servants.
And my test here is only in developing even more patience, and restraining my impulses to interfere.
Meanwhile this Costa Rican, who has been married to me, a foreigner, for 24 years,
is now showing the locals how to become straight.
It will take time. Whether we get that house built is less important than raising the level of consciousness all around.
And that can only be done by example, while remaining humble and loving with all parties involved.

Speaking of carpenters, I have an old friend, a carpenter. He is part Chickasaw. HE would tell me stories of how the Chickasaw would build houses partially submerged beneath the earth. Because the temperature was a constant 68-72 degrees year round at a certain depth, at least around my region of the states. I came across this article from Red Ice, about an underground greenhouse. Of course! PL, we need to make this happen at your place, I don't have enough space.

Ulli, the reason I tell you that story is probably obvious to you. It just came to me that you might have success if you can enlist someone in that office to help you.
Heal, toes!
Dennis
I may have mentioned this before, but my Brother-in-law has a letter from the tax people and a notice on his tax record, that he can never be audited again. Ever. He was audited 7 years in a row, which was illegal. The accountant, was also a lawyer, when he found out about this.. he was so steamed..he went after them...and made them do it.

Oh, yes! It is the same, apparently, all over, every-(possible)-where.
I can fully understand the situation. Well, I will stop here, architecture talk- offline, on my own.
You can't escape, Ulli (I mean, not you, but your other half). It would have been so much easier to just KNOW I can draw your stuff, and later on find a technical person to sign it on your side.
It is a common missunderstanding especially when it comes to having constant electricity and water.
One simple truth in a country where everyone tries to go around rules such as my own- it is easier, cheaper and safer to go the normal route.
I know, I said I will not go there.
Yesterday I was hurt. I had an operation, small one, but enough to make me feel miserably in pain.
Today is better.

You should have asked for healing before your operation....then there would have been less pain.
And by the way, Dan33 is one of the most loving people on Avalon,
so if he didn't visit your love thread he probably was called away from his computer.
Which happens a lot, as quite a few of us are restless spirits and also always multi-tasking....

My Other Love Thread is very Intellectual, mind you! We talk about psychology there! :) <-- I am joking of course.
With Christian we are posting free youtube songs at the moment.
I think all male and female souls on the forum, in our digital village, are really very loving. Just some don't express it too often, and in many obvious ways.
But I did get to the real nature of some of them. And I am in love with them, too.
Ulli, that ramp made me dizzy only when I imagined the situation!
But that is the nature of the game. If it hasn't been planned for it, sometimes the post solution could look ridiculous.
(At this stage of social and technical development at least. IMO.)
In the morning Here and not-now, but a few hours back, was 0 degrees with chills.
Now, at around noon, it is spring, the birds (and the cats) are singing.

Here and now, busy at my new job. Sort of. Sitting, listening to a really stupid and boring video about careers, and how technology changes the world, which leads to changes in available careers. "For example," the monotone voice says, "farmers may need to learn to inject something into their plants..." Oh brother. I do understand why Em has trouble maintaining focus. At least my mind can wander. Her first "quiz" in this class is not promising.

Your husband should be telling them, 'I am the doctor. What will you do, when your time comes?'
One does not need to bribe - just speak simple truth.
My problem with all of that way of being is that..if it is important to me... I tend to do things like stand in front of them, and remove all the layers, in one single conversational injection into the situation. I shatter all acts and layers in one fell swoop of a single conversation. I look them straight in the eye and break every shell they 'ape' life in and through.
Boy-o-boy they hate that. Very messy, to say the least. So naughty in those situations that I can generally break them in less than a minute. And if they don't break, they get very angry and/or physical. The least result is I cut their consciousness open so hard, and so deep that they are scarred for the rest of their life, or they heal themselves.
Ah well, best not to do such things too often. Or ever...the result can veer into insanity or suicide. Yes, it is possible to drive someone 'mad' in a single conversation. But not recommended.
Pardon my irritation with the bureaucracy that you are putting up with. One of the parasites on humanity that really get me going.

Yeah, the bureaucrats are my pet peeve as well.
I once found out what happened to the various classmates from high school, and was not surprised
when I discovered that all the least popular ones had gone on to becoming a government pen pusher.
They also happened to be the bullies. It's like one can already recognise the type in the cradle.
Meanwhile people like me who were the creative ones but also were lazy rebels
went out into the world and just wanted to have some fun.

Meet Isis. Our new addition. We rescued her from the shelter, which we found out is not a no kill shelter. Boo
We got her today, Valentine's Day and a full moon. Thought we could use a goddess of magic around here. She is somewhere around 10 weeks old. Beautiful eyes. We went looking for puppies, which we found but did not bring home yet. That is going to be a pain. Anyway, walking out we stopped at the big window to see the kittens. And this one looked at me, and did not move her eyes. She kept connecting. So we went in and I held her (big mistake). Then I played with her, and after chasing the ball with the bell in it for a minute, she brought it to me. A sign if there ever was one.
I hope this itchy nose and scratchy throat are not allergies. Susan says she can whip me up a nettle tincture if needed. It's either that, or I will gift the shelter a whole slew of cat toys.

Here's my contribution to Valentine's. An old song my buddy Dylan and I wrote called Singles Awareness Day. For some reason the recording stopped short so the song isn't complete. I'll write out the last verse. Enjoy!
http://k007.kiwi6.com/hotlink/uk6xyzprsf/1-12_Ode_to_Timmy_Singles_Awareness_Day_.mp3
Last verse:
"So go out and buy your roses
And your chocolates too
Try so hard to get laid
Before the night is through
"But of all the women
That you'll ever know
All the ones that can't be true to you
Just know that your only Valentine
Is your Momma.....
Singles Awareness Day....."

There has been a bald eagle flying over the property the last two days, sometimes accompanied by a less mature one. That is always a special blessing to me. I just found out today one of my goaties, Cookie, isn’t pregnant as we thought she was (took them all to be bred in the fall) even though she has been getting the pregnancy diet. Saw Firefly, as fat as she is now, trying her best to hump Cookie and that is generally a good sign (that she is in heat and not pregnant), besides the fact that her udder should be filling up by now. I found it slightly amusing, being Valentine’s Day and all (and a full moon to boot). I’m also slightly relieved that I will only have three to milk at one time, instead of four. It’s been a really good day.

Hello, village people. Life goes goes on just fine, in spite of the occasional setbacks related to my health. At the moment I'm feeling calm, but my body has been acting a bit weirdly lately thanks to these energies. At times my nervous system has been overloaded, also some symptoms of cold and sudden tiredness, oh well. Borrowing Alan Watts's words... I'm breathing, the wind is blowing, the trees are waving, my blood is circulating, my nerves are tingling. It's all going on of itself.

Hmm... This is most interesting.
Jupiter square Uranus is exact on Feb 26th, its influence will be in effect from February 16 – May 3.
Jupiter square Uranus has a rebellious and forceful energy that can bring great success to those involved with spiritual or social reformation. It is an excellent alignment for global intentions, especially associated with spirituality. Jupiter square Uranus inspires innovate ideas, visions and new paradigms…which may even be rejected at first, always ahead of its time, but will eventually be integrated by the whole.
ulli
15th February 2014, 14:26
Yes, the Jupiter-Uranus square will bring energies
which are in direct opposition to the Pluto in Capricorn/ Saturn in Scorpio energies.
Saturn rules Capricorn, and Pluto rules Scorpio.
Capricorn is about authority, and Scorpio is about power, and since Pluto and Saturn are in each others signs, the combination of power and authority at all cost has made the elite more determined than ever to let the masses know who is in charge. Abuse of power is rampant.
So then whe have Jupiter square Uranus coming along.
Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and Uranus rules Aquarius, the two most independent signs of the entire zodiac.
Both say 'don't mess with me', and both are out to get the maximum of space (Sag)
and individuality with freedom of expression (Aquarius)
So the divide between rulers and oppressed will come to a breaking point.
Stresses will come to a head, and something is going to give.

You cannot describe better what happened to me last night, a fight between authority and power and its rampant abuse versus the individuality and freedom of expression and the "don't mess with me" attitude. Whomever can think they are in whichever side of the war barricade.
I am becoming as cryptic as Carmody may be at times lol - don't I understand him now!

Then again, we haven't seen Carmody's French...

Sure is loud this morning. Sitting outside, which I love to do for the quiet. And man, oh man, was there a racket. Some roosters, usually just one off in the distance, this morning there were many. Announcing the morning, usually. But then add to that the coyotes, which is usually an evening/night chorus. And then add to that the caw of a couple of crows. And one tree is full of mockingbirds all squawking up a storm. Not a pretty song. And through it all I could hear the morning dove, one of my favorites.
It would appear I am looking at a day full of trickster energy. And in the midst will be calm and soothing, if I can focus on that through the noise and chaos.
I wonder how I'm doing with this interpretation, haha.
Sounds like any ole other day here lately. I guess we'll see.

Dear 1, thanks for that reminder.
Here's another one that seems apt today. My mother-in-law used to say, when you are feeling down or upset, do something for another, and you soon forget to remember your own troubles. Sometimes it works. Worth trying. I know, it's hard to do sometimes.
My brother Curtis stopped in this morning. We were laughing and wishing my smart phone had an app where you pick a certain day and place when the world was very fine, and you want to get a repeat of it. Then I saw I don't need no stinkin' app ... he made the day good, being here.
Love to the village.

Wind, I am also feeling the way you are describing.
Last night I slept in brief sporadic moments. (Today I found out there has been a sun burst during that time.)
I also had a strange experience, as if someone was holding my heart preventing it form beating. It was a really strange feeling, but even if i know I have a heart murmur, that was different. Either my alien family is fixing my problems, or someone hostile is trying. It was briefly, just enough to wake me. After that I slept to the morning.
Every time I hear Sting or Mr. Ferry I get a flash of dan33 also. It is a good feeling. Dan, come here to share the love :) .

Alley Cat, her name is Isis.
She is a funny one. I made Em's favorite dinner. I don't make it often as it requires a lot of chopping. But, once in a while I create something heavenly like this. Isis sat at my feet, kneading me. Then I would move to the other side of the kitchen, and at first the movement would make her jump, then she would end up at my feet again.
So we sat down to eat and here she came, just a-talkin' up a storm. Ended up close to my neck, thinking I had left her out. I went into Em's room and brought her food bowl into the room with us. She ate there. My goodness, she thinks she is a person? She was convinced she wanted what we had. This is going to be funny...

I love to hear that something I shared gives a smile.
Um...we had brown rice, fresh steamed broccoli, and chicken (insert ho'oponopono here) prepared a certain way with soy sauce. I found chicken that didn't have steroids or antibiotics used, so Em was excited to have her favorite again. It's chop-chop-chop, I like things a little easier haha. Of course, both my little girls are spoiled now. Em is the last one at home, she is 14, for the moment. M is 18, and is oddly having the same feelings of claustrophobia I used to have in the city. She wants to be closer to her mama, so after we get her new room finished she will return. Then I will have three spoiled girls. :)
As long as I can carve out some quiet time, all will be well. I start to lose my sanity after having Em & M around 24/7...

Sometimes I make this similar dish without chicken but yet a chop chop chop :) with mushrooms.. that I soak or marinate in soy, oil, ginger and garlic.. I love the zest of them flavours. I don't yet, but was equally touched by your warmth describing them and your doings :) I love that you gave in and took Isis on. I would guess that you will know more than you'd like, just in a few pages, the way I bare my soul...lol on me.
You guys have helped me tremendously these past few weeks. I really hope to be out of this soon. Seems like I get to the edge but then back off. Seems like I'm about to jump, then the quicksand sucks me back in. sigh. I hope I do pass the point one of these days. I can't even describe the physical sensations while doing my awareness exercise. It's...it's...very powerful stuff.
I'm struggling, trying not to worry about K (my eldest, she is 22 for another minute or two) ... I'm trying so hard to Trust that All is Well. It's O-Kay. She is going to be fine. Universe has her. But...M saw a mark on her back yesterday. When asked about it, she said she fell. We all know what that's about.
And my poor Little One (sorry, my grandson who is 5) is smack dab in the middle of that, too. And I haven't seen him in months.
Just a heavy little bit, that's all. Somehow this is going to wake her up. Please, Universe, watch and keep them. Allow the necessary, protect them from the unnecessary. And..give me strength...

It is past 10pm. I should have been asleep a couple of hours ago. Instead, I have figured out why all the coyotes and crows were so noisy this morning. The message of calm within the chaos. It would seem, by the positive pregnancy test, K is with child. It would be whathisname's.
Much to process with this one. Good thing I lit a candle for strength and peace. I am resting in my love for my daughter, and in my Trust in the Universe. I fully acknowledge the Mystery of all things and how things can unfold in amazingly magical ways.

Marianne, there is nothing small in being able to reach out and touch someone hundreds of miles away in an instant. Nothing. That is something of a miracle, isn't it? And I appreciate the support from you wonderful people, emanations of the Divine you are. I don't know, ulli, you could be right. A friend called me when she became pregnant with her sixth child, she was an unmarried Mormon at the time. This caused her a little stress. And I told her that a child is a blessing, no matter how you slice it. That child would bring her joy and love, and light up her world. And he did. He does.
This child, if meant to be and everything goes well, is a miraculous being who will just happen to be in a teeny tiny body. Already it has brought some good, in that K opened up to me about it. I have never given up on her, texting her once in a while just to say hello. About half the time, she responded, and I was happy with that. Last night, she opened up even. I cannot reach down and help her out of the mud, and help her see More of What Is unless she at least takes my hand. It would appear she is doing that.
As far as whatshisname, ugh. Chances, chances. I don't want anything to do with him, to tell you the truth. And I will limit that to the nth degree. But it does bring up what I used to think about him, that he is also of the Divine. And talk about losing one's way...cripey. Testing me, this is. One has to pull out one's magnifying glass, but the spark is (probably) there. One day he will wake up, too. He will wake up to tptb, to the spiritual aspect of his development. And I feel for him, I really do. He will have a time of it, accepting and moving forward.
This isn't my struggle. My struggle is to allow this to be their struggle, each one individually. And each of us has these in life. She hers, he his. Lessons to learn, patterns to grow beyond, belief systems to break out of. And we can all do it. So can she, so can he.
And I'm just the one to be on the sidelines, doing what I do. It is an honor to be in a position to help a soul I actually helped to create the body for.
We Rejoice in the Love and the Light and the Unity of the One Infinite Creator.
It's Okay.

Sky flower, I am experiencing something similar. I can be busy and feeling fine. Then in the blink of an eye I feel my stomach flip and an urge to run from something. But, of course there is nothing to see. Just a gut feeling. The world is unsettled right now. Perhaps it interferes with your own internal balance. At least that's how I feel. I thank you from my whole heart for that, both for the film suggestion and for the soundtrack, meeradas.
(I think the 'no people' part is something we have in common).
I am having some heart problems (literary and emotionally :) ), which I thought were impossible to have anymore. After all my one and only small (supernova) heart has been shattered and repaired a few times already, but no.
And, of course, a new virus around just saw me and said 'Oh Yes, a victim'! HERE I AM NOW with headache and overall drowsiness.
But I have books to read. And films to watch and re-watch.

Have been dreaming lately. Have been getting the message that I have taken on loads of new souls, in my charge in a way. I am wondering who, and why. Must be 15-20 of them. Ages range from babies to high school age. This is a bit overwhelming. I must conclude it is time. I guess it is just something to be aware of or it wouldn't have been shown to me. And I guess on some level I know what to do about this.
I will keep my mind out of it and let it unfold. At least that's the goal.

This is really good, too, I have to share it. Someone discovered and performed a short musical score that was found in Heironymus Bosch's painting, The Garden of Earthly Delights. The musical score was found on the butt of one of the characters in the Hell panel of the painting. Check this out:

Good morning Crystine and villagers,
Thank you, Crystine, for the digital sunflower. It made me wonder if Markoid might have one in his stash of digital artwork. Remembering we will have real ones in time.
I am up and arrived at work, but it's a slow start. Going to see if I can find some decaf coffee. Someone said drinking decaf is like kissing your sister. LOL
But it's been many years, since my 30's, that I drink much caffeine; the doc said life will make your heart go pitter pat, not coffee.
Ulli, I will begin to keep a journal of my MicroMat sessions, which programs I use and the effect. Very interested in their new material, but I've lost the link to their website, would you mind giving it again?
I'm listening to an audio program by Clarissa Estes called The Joyful Body. She has a beautiful voice and unusual accent; listening to her wisdom is like curling up by a warm fire. Body intelligence and cell wisdom ... Bruce Lipton, Candace Pert, Sondra Barrett, and others have researched this. Besides doing shadow work/shamanism, it's the deepest, most effective work I've found. Well, then there's PurpleLama's Reiki, of course. That was a huge boost forward.
Thinking of Astrid and her family this morning.

Never use Chinese candles...they are full of toxins. Try to not use scented candles, especially ones from china. As the chemists say: 'If you can smell it, it is killing you'.
Our experience with candles comes from a time when they were properly made. Clean paraffin with no additives and fillers, no heavy metals, clean and unadulterated bee's wax, etc.
Why candles? Flame. Candles are a point of 'action', an active component of dimensional crossing. A working one, physically near you. The flame is atomic/quantum and in the act of shifting atomic/quantum structures, into breakdown. A micro door into dimensional shifting, opening. A crack, or hole, if you will.

I bought bulk bags of palm wax and soy wax to make candles. I add essential oils for a pure scent.
Cotton wicks are my choice. I did get the little aluminum disks to hook them down (votive style)... probably not a good idea.
The best, purest has to be a plain cotton wick dipped into pure beeswax to form a taper candle. Next might be a good quality palm/soy wax.
But now I'm unsure what effect the essential oils would have on a portal flame that can shift you into a different dimension.
I'm having fun thinking about it.
I'll bet eucalyptus EO would have a different effect than say, ylang-ylang EO.

PL, it won't surprise you to know, I'm a 'scattered' candle maker in that I go by intuion rather than measuring things. Probably using a higher/lower wax temp when you dip would allow the wax to drip more or less and give you the dimension and length you want.
But yes, 1/2" x 6" sounds do-able.
After I posted, I remembered a way that's even better than beeswax -- old fashioned bayberry candles, made by boiling the waxy berries until wax melts out of them. The scent is the most natural because it's right there in the berry too.
I've never done it, but I researched it.

Oh, goodie, another sync for me. I've been looking through my candle making how-to books. I read that beeswax is best, and that soy can be made from gmo soybeans so I decided to stay away from that just in case. I found a good source of beeswax I think, it's $7-$8 per pound and has been filtered once. I was thinking of unscented for small candles, mine are only 4" tall but that 1/2" diameter. But, I have been toying with the idea of providing Susan some because she is after me so. In that case, I would make some jar candles and I've been thinking about EO for scent. My only concern is that I'm wondering if it will take a larger quantity of EO than fragrance oils.
The one thing I'm certain of is that they will pack a punch. I've seen that in action. It's probably the thing I'm most confident about. Thanks for the info, carmody. That makes me really excited to get into my new hobby.

$7 to $8/lb is a good price - better than I have found. I have been looking into this to get candlemaking materials into my house, to displace the awful stinkbombs with wicks my wife sets off. Ever since her third brain surgery, I don't think she can smell how intense the smells are, and they are cheap chemical crap. I have bought her numerous essential oils, but the nasty overscented artificial chemical candles always are her preference.
I swear, I'm going to put 10 pounds of beeswax on the table, surround it with all the bottles of essential oils I have bought her, lay a handful of cotton wicks on top, fill the trashcan with her candles, and reclaim the air in our house!
Old hippie candlemaker story:
Candles can be "sand-cast" by pouring molten wax into a depression in (damp) sand. To make the exterior of the candle even more interesting, place stones and little pieces of driftwood around the sand crater, then pour. If you use high-temperature wax (30 years ago...paraffin), you can pour some wax, let it cool a bit, place a low temperature votive on the surface, then fill the crater - this allows the candle to gain semi-permanance, as the votive burns up, it leaves a hole you drop another votive in.
OK, that enough "how to" background.
So, I decided that it would be fun to see into the candle when it is burning, rather than just look at sand, stones, and driftwood. I created a few funky-shaped cones of aluminum foil, and stuck them into the sand-crater walls, with points toward the center. Then I melted wax and added some pieces of crayon, and poured a thin layer, and let that cool. Melted some more wax with a different crayon color, and poured another layer... until the candle was full (many thin layers of color poured.) Finally, when the candle was removed from the sand, the aluminum foil was carefully pulled out of the wax, leaving a conical tunnel with faceted walls, exposing the color layers. When the votive was lit, voila! Glowing sedimentary layers in a cave! Those candles need to mounted high enough to easily see into the tunnels.
Ahhhhh the simpler, hippy days...

Kudos to all the candle-making posts, I (maybe others) are taking notes ^_^. A few days ago while meditating I had a realization that in addition to overall quality of life and enjoyment, candles are going to be a HOT commodity in response to a number of emergencies, and one that many people are likely to overlook. I especially like Dennis' example, as I am not patient enough to produce dipped candles, but I can SURE make a mold and run with it!

The rolled beeswax sheet candles are so lovely. Simple and pure. I made them once, but the best experience I had was with a tapered one given to me by the owner of an organic farm in Georgia. Then came Dennis Leahy with a suitcase with $ 13 million.

That's interesting ... news you can use eh?
What about incense???
Used to burn a ton of that when I was young and I am still alive (... well for the most part ...)

Using a small flame for a focus is very effective for one who knows how. I have seen a lot of people say, burning a candle for someone is not actually doing anything, but that can well depend on who does the burning. One does tap in to the "other side" and brings back enormous energy, potentially. Lord knows, I have burnt a bit for folks and circumstances hereabouts.
I prefer Satya brand incense, as it smells the cleanest to me, and of course I love me some (pure) resins. I have mentioned before, I have a close friend who has an "eclectic religious" shop (http://greenfaery87.wix.com/ravenswindlair), and she gets the good stuff.

She is yelling at Astrid again...
apparently that is a good sign....
Isn't life strange???
That made me laugh ... and I sure hope that is a good sign ...
Astrid why don't you drop by again if even just to say "hi"???
We miss you.
Astrid lives mostly for her clients now, when not participating in some class or other.
We have a symbiotic relationship...I shed light on some of her cases with astrology perspective.
And the family saga has been a bit overwhelming lately;
father's diagnosis and with her mother's health in extreme peril.
I don't think she feels up to being exposed on a public forum any more....she is a very private person.
But I will let her know that you miss her.
Maybe she will respond to a PM?

Might this have anything to do (even subconsciously) with vigils???
Or just one of those things ....
Or church ceremonies for that matter???
Never heard that one before.

She shared so much on a very deep level here (and now) ... and withdrew over time.
She is one of the few that made forum life worth taking the time for ... one of those that make you take a moment and reflect on lessons faced and hopefully learned for our own lives.

Hmmmm. One who knows how...how would you describe this process? Is this pulling from within, or pulling from elsewhere? Because I've always loved candles, and they made the environment warm. But I didn't know what I was doing, or maybe I wasn't doing anything at all. So is intent the difference?

One knows how by doing it, with repetition comes proficiency. Try meditating and watching a candle flame, you'll see....

Haven't seen the light yet regarding candle power.
On the other hand, Ulli's micro mat sounds like it's going to be a must invest fairly soon. What's the best package I wonder? The full monty I expect, without the computer. Ulli, I hope you get a commission :)
Yes I was offered commission...by purchasing mats in bulk I can buy them for less. I have three more here...full package without the netbook.
Selling is not my thing though; I'm only good at the kind of business where buyers line up and say 'shut up and take my money'.

Or the fractal version:
OK. could not find the fractal version. But I did find something I would have made actual use of, at age 19.
