I started up singing The 5th Dimenson's song "Age of Aquarius"! Of course I don't sing it like they used to!

5 dimensions was my first concert!

I got my 8 track stolen out of the parking lot, while in concert! Duh!
Here’s an early birthday song, Roy.

You know, I just love you ,Paula! So caring and endearing!

Snow is starting to fall on my Ol'Kentucky Home! Beautiful! But! Worried about my 3 girls getting home!

Put 4 new tires on my youngest daughters car last week. Distributor cap in December! New door handle today! And a new jack to change a tire! (No, she can't change a tire!) Some nice guy helped her on the road. Took her over to her sisters home! She thought about that after the fact too!

After thinking about it, I said you don't do that! Young girl anymore! Call Goodeyear, me, or 911! You never know anymore!

About 2001, my oldest daughter, Sarah, was going to a friends house, out in the country! On a Saturday! Yeah, I worked that day! Kentucky She went to a neighbor, no response, another, no response, finally this old woman let her in to use the phone. She called me and I came out to change the flat! Ever since then, both of my girls have had a cell phone! It scares the crap out of me when they are alone out on the highway! Especially now days!

People these days, don't appreciate the little folk!

When I went to get a jack for Carlye's car today. They called a old black man to go "pull" the parts at the junk yard!

So here he comes in, high winter coveralls,muddy and ragedy . Anyway he presented the parts. And I thanked him for getting the parts for me! He lit up like a Christmas Tree! I explained to him why I had to get the jack for my daughters car!

He went on and on, but the bottom line , the first thing he does in the morning, is get down on his knees and prays! Thank the Lord I am still here! In very humble ways he is a teacher! He pulled some windshiled whippers for a man in front of me! The guy didn't know how to put them on. He explained patiently how to put them on!

That is where I'm at here and now!

Yes! There is Budda and Jesus in the junk yard

Humaily your servent! My those red lines come up with mispelled words! What the fu*k, do these people think, who only speak English as a second language! Yes, I butcher French completely! Check it out Calz and Gio are having a I Don't Give A Fu*k War! Mods please be nice! It is tongue and cheek! Luv ALL you guys!

Thanks for the link. Watching now.
Heard about Dr. Reich and his boxes over 40 years ago as he was a cult hero amongst the early Hippies.
But never knew the details of his work and life.
I understand he could make rain, too.
Maybe there are enough people in California to look into how he did it.

Here’s the update on lemon juice method. I use a masticating juicer and use the whole lemon.

Split lemon juice and syrup into two small mason jars. When you fill it to the top it’s 32 oz. When ready to drink ADD water, cayenne pepper and Willard Water. I tie up the second jar with a dish towel to keep the light out. See information below on enzymes and Willard Water.

The concentrate:

* 4 lemons
* 1/2 cup of grade B maple syrup

Add when ready to drink:

* 1 tsp of cayenne pepper
* 1 tsp of Willard Water
* fill to brim with filtered water

The Lemonade Diet Concentrate – the most common mistake @ TheMasterCleanse.org (http://themastercleanse.org).

Previously mentioned on this website was my preference to drink Pre-mix Lemonade. I now understand a critical flaw to this plan. The longer your Lemonade sits, the more enzymes die. If you need to Pre-mix your Lemonade, then you should only mix a concentrate of just 2 ingredients :

The Fresh Lemon Juice
And the Rich Maple Syrup.

The maple syrup acts as a preservative. This Lemonade Diet Concentrate will keep the enzymes alive long enough to be consumed during the day. Store The Lemonade Diet Concentrate in a cool, dark, glass container. Do not add the cayenne or water to the concentrate! The cayenne will “Steep” like tea, and make the concentrate very hot. The water will dilute the maple syrup and the enzymes in the Fresh Lemon Juice will die. Add the water each time you make a fresh glass of lemonade.

Willard Water®

I like to give credit to Paul for introducing me to Willard Water. I've purchased several bottle of the clear mixture. Next time I'll go with the darker one.

"Willard Water® (http://drwillard.com) has a very high alkaline pH value of 12.3 and when diluted as directed permanently increases water pH by up to two points which helps restore a healthy pH balance in the body.”

“One of the immediate benefits of drinking Dr. Willard’s Water® is improved nutrient assimilation. Because the Water has been made more active by the addition of our patented micelle catalyst, digestion becomes more complete allowing more of the nutrients in our food to be absorbed by our digestive systems.

Dr. Willard’s Water® is not a nutrient, but a vehicle by which nutrients are carried throughout the body’s cells, and by which waste is carried away from the cells with water as a means of transportation.

Dr. Willard’s Water® seems to break down food particles better than ordinary water, therefore greater amounts of vitamins, minerals and nutrients become available to our systems.  Studies have found evidence that Dr. Willard’s Water® aids in the digestion of crude proteins by breaking them down into their component amino acids and that carbohydrates and fats are also more efficiently digested when using Dr. Willard’s Water®.

Another benefit of drinking Dr. Willard’s Water® is its detoxifying effect on our bodies.  In the same way that the Water helps the body deliver more nutrients to the cells, it also more efficiently removes toxins from the body which in turn allows more room for vitamins and other nutrients.

Finally, drinking Dr. Willard’s Water® has shown in studies to serve as a free radical scavenger.  Many scientists believe that free radicals, highly reactive toxic compounds, are responsible for most of the degenerative disease associated with old age and stressful lifestyles.  By reducing these free radicals, Dr. Willard’s Water® clearly would have a positive effect on one’s overall health.”

A friend mass emailed the story below after I sent him and others Violet’s video. Out of curiosity I google-goggled and found it amongst a collection of inspirational short stories, “Will and Guy's Collection of Moving Short Stories To Inspire Children (http://www.guy-sports.com/virtual/inspirational.htm)”.

When I sent him the link, his response was:

“Beautiful..I most certainly shall pass this on..Sunday will be a good day for moving this beautiful message down the communication trail..isn't a it a shame Paula that the goodness of people all over can't be the badge of honor for all humankind?”

I replied back that I’ll post the story, the link, and his message to a forum of 1,460 active members and a total of 8,350 members.

"Mr Miller's Grocery Store in Idaho - Red Marbles"

I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas.

I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes.

Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Mr Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me.

'Hello Barry, how are you today?'
'H'lo, Mr Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus 'admirin' them peas. They sure look good.'
'They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?'Fine. Gittin' stronger alla' time.’
'Good. Anything I can help you with?'No, Sir. Jus 'admirin' them peas.'
'Would you like to take some home?' asked Mr Miller
'No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with.’
'Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?'
'All I got's my prize marble here.'

'Is that right? Let me see it' said Miller
'Here 'tis. She's a dandy.'
'I can see that. Hmmmmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go for red. Do you have a red one like this at home?' the store owner asked
'Not zackley but almost.'
'Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way let me look at that red marble,' Mr Miller told the boy.
'Sure will. Thanks Mr Miller.'

Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. With a smile she said, 'There are two other boys like him in our community, all three are in very poor circumstances.  Jim just loves to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store.

I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man. A short time later I moved to Colorado, but I never forgot the story of this man, the boys, and their bartering for marbles.

Years later Mr Miller died.

Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while I was there learned that Mr Miller had died. They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of comfort we could.

Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts...all very professional looking. They approached Mrs Miller, standing composed and smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket.

Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes.

Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand and led me to the casket.

'Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They just told me how they appreciated the things Jim 'traded' them. Now, at last, when Jim could not change his mind about color or size....they came to pay their debt.'

'We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world,' she confided, 'but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho.

With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red marbles.

The Moral : We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath.

Good lovely morning, Village.

I have taken many steps forward, and it is time to sit down for a minute. Have this stuck in my head today.

pJhcGepfG04

The kitties play rambunctiously. The sun is out today, and the sky is clear and blue. For a change. It is quite lovely, though not as warm as I like. I see, out the window, the bare branches swaying in the breeze. All is still and quiet otherwise. Except inside, where energy swirls and thoughts go every which direction.

Somewhere along the line I found a system to use, whereby I watch for clues as to what to do in any particular situation. Clues as to what I am supposed to do, where I am supposed to go. I have found that this saves me a lot of grief, for one thing. If the clues tell me that K is not receptive, I allow her that. I find this is better than beating my head against a brick wall. And on a larger scale, for the past year I have felt very lost so watching for clues from Universe has helped me to find some direction. I guess this is because I have not gotten myself straightened out inside yet. Oh, I am definitely getting somewhere, but I am not so in tune with my own inner voice that I can hear it clearly.

This approach of watching for clues is not without problems, though. I have struggled with, and continue to struggle with, the existence of the internal versus the external mechanism at play when I see clues. Are these clues I am setting before myself, or are these signs from Universe? Maybe they are the same, too. I just do not know. I also see that I would more readily listen to the whispers of Universe than whispers from Me. Which, of course, is a problem of a different nature altogether. I know I must trust myself. I know I must trust Universe. And I keep thinking these are not the same. I ask myself, to what extent are these the same?

Regardless of the origin, I am following what I feel to be true. I cannot explain that statement, but maybe I don't have to here. These clues have led me to a new house, in a new location. And just as it did when I was looking for the past three residences, when I found what I guess is the right one for me, things just fell into place. The difference is that I'm on my own now. So rather than knowing I have someone to lean on if things go awry, and rather than knowing that at the end of the day I am not alone....well...that's just not the case. Those are the facts.

I am not saying I am alone, not exactly. I mean, I know there are beings of the highest possible nature with me. Let's be real, though, this is a whole lot different than reaching out and touching someone. And I know I have friends online, who I have become close to. And I even know I have friends in ordinary reality. But at the end of the day, I am on my own. For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health. Hahaha, sorry, I thought that was funny....

So I guess here is to following our Guidance systems, y'all. May we all see what is True for us on this day. May we shine our lights, knowing our every breath is a gift and our every step is forward. And may we each gain strength from the respective difficulties we face, knowing we are Divine Eternal Beings simply sharing a very vivid but temporary existence here.

Much Love,

Carmody

try to understand that in space, the only thing holding a life on any sort of track, is intensity of self, and whatever the local influences may be. Local influences either blocked or entertained.

Here, and now, we have astrology and this earth. Which is wholly local. when leaving here, we have to know how to hold it together, otherwise it dissipates, it shifts, it changes. Time, space,and reality are local.

Note that what we call an alien or other encounter, that the craft are huge, in general terms. The turtle takes it shell with it. The more evolved - the less necessary this is. This, of course, all concerns this realm, this 3-d timespace thing.

I always enjoy entertaining your perspective, Carmody. Wise words, those are. I have been doing a lot of thinking about the turtle taking its shell with it. Or the crab, haha. My friend was right, the very shell that I hide behind for safety does indeed become a prison. So I guess I went backwards, never wanting to come out. And now I am moving forward by taking risks. Scary af. With the inner work I have done thus far, I can even say that there are times I see myself interacting without the shell at all. But, I always revert. Fear is a dastardly thing. When, if even for a moment at a time, I exist outside the confines of timespace, there is obviously no shell. Neither is there fear. So my goal, of course, is to reside there more often, and maybe for longer periods of time (ha)...

Sure there are the influences of the Earth and astrology. My thinking is that the planets are conscious beings. But somehow, I intuit they are not the only influences. There is another influence. And while I want to be aware of the influence of the planets, if only to be prepared to rise above them (not saying I am successful), there is another Influence that I embrace. I wouldn't even try to describe it. I guess what I am saying is that I do not think those are the only two, even in these confines. (Reserving the right to be wrong about this as Understanding unfolds.)

edit: of course you did say these are local influences. Hmmm. Further pondering necessary. So many layers to this stuff.

Ok, since you would like to enlarge your understanding, here comes my perspective:

Planets are a hierarchy of consciousness, from mineral to vegetable to animal to human to other dimensional.

With each layer the capacity of action is increased.
The mineral world is only cohesive, it can't move unless wind and water set it in motion.
The plant world is cohesive, in addition it has growth, is sentient, but still has limited mobility.
The animal is cohesive, sentient, has movement, plus instinct.
The human world has all of the above, plus intellect and thus has the ability (in rare cases) to go above instinct and feelings.
It can rise above it's programming if an individual so chooses.
And the other dimension...we can't be too sure, as the knowledge is considered here-say.
So which part of the planet would you consider conscious?
In my view none of it is conscious, except for those who are aware that they have the option to act consciously.
And even then they can fall back into sleep within minutes and go through their lives in a routine manner.

For the entertainment value, I will bare myself and share my bizarre views on this, based on very limited understanding. I say with a smile, in case you wonder.

From what I have seen of the sun, it is quite...alive. And conscious. Now. I cannot argue at all with your description of the differences of the attributes of minerals and animals and humans. Or planets for that matter. Spot on, they seem to me. Except...that experience of what is outside our 3d experience is here-say. When I say to you that I have seen the very smallest glimmer of the inside of the sun, which obviously is other d than 3, that is here-say. Or personal experience. Depending on the perspective.

For further entertainment, haha, I will share that I think the other planets may be similar, though I think the delivery of consciousness in this system is through the Sun. I think of them, not with moods or emotions, but with attributes of consciousness.

Personally conceptionally speaking,
we are on our way to new plateaus that will become like 'natural' stepping stones, we shall be that tuned into the the higher rhythm of 'creating' for Creation sake...benefiting All in our sphere of influence, soon to find a yet higher entrainment rhythm that will benefit ALL all over the loving sphere we are riding on, Mother Earth!

:becky:

Human beings can use the elements, but that does not make the elements conscious.
Just as I can pick up a microphone and speak into it, and my voice comes out of the speaker, amplified, does to make the physical amplifier conscious.
I can look at flames in a fireplace, and see all that motion, but not attribute consciousness to them, as that would diminish my station to victim hood. I can throw a bucket of water and put those flames out at any moment, and keep that fire under control.
Now, if there are beings out the, highly intelligent, they might use the sun to communicate with you, the way some of us believe crystals can transmit knowledge between dimensions. But the sun has no free will, it follows exact laws, and can't deviate by one inch from its course. We know exactly where it will be at a given time. It is subjected to the laws of nature.
Yet a human being can climb trees, even mountains, dive in the ocean, create gardens, and now replicate organs with stem cell sciences. Our physical bodies come from the planet, and when decomposed, return there. But our spirit can be anywhere any time. This is why I am careful with what I worship. Whatever that is, it has to be higher than anything I can ever imagine.
The principle of life, of absolute knowledge and perfection, and of goodness, that's who. Our sun is less than a speck of dust when compared to the origin of the whole massive universe.

Just checked a lottery ticket, one that I won $20 on (more like stop-loss than winning). I handed it in, without bothering to check how I won it.

Today I checked it to see how I won, what category...and I missed a million by one digit.

Yeah, this happened to my husband at Christmas, although he won $600, a little less than his airline ticket.
Next time will be the jackpot, you will see, for all of us.

Nicholas Rubin is a 16-year old self-taught computer programmer from Seattle, Washington. He is also the inventor of Greenhouse, a new browser plugin that let’s you know exactly where politicians get their campaign funding from.

When the plugin is active, the names of House or Senate members on any given webpage are highlighted. All you have to do is hover your mouse over the name of a politician, and a box will pop up showing all the industries and groups that contributed funds to their campaign, as well as how much the politician got from each sector.

Much Love,
Congratulation on your new home, 1inMany. It’ll be easy to say good bye to that demanding lawn and temperamental lawn mower. Three cheers for economical peering down and much closer to places you’ve got to get to and the freedom to start anew.

Living alone has its perks and I’m sure you’ve experienced some of them already:

You can leave the toilet seat up.
Leave the toothpaste cap off.
You don’t have to run a decision by someone that bucks at change.
You cook what you want and the way you want or don’t cook at all.
You don’t have to hide shopping bags in the car and answer later with, “What this old thing?”
Those cookies you use to hide don’t taste as good now that you don’t have to squirrel them away.
If it is your wish for a partnership, then have patience for one where love, appreciation, understanding, compassion, forgiveness, self-empowerment and wisdom is gained.

Good lovely morning, Village.

I have taken many steps forward, and it is time to sit down for a minute.
sic.............

Here 1inMany, I do think that clues from the Universes are the same as clues from myself, when my ego is not involved. If i want nothing for others other than fullfilment of each destinies and growth, through wichever mean.

The difference is that I'm on my own now. So rather than knowing I have someone to lean on if things go awry, and rather than knowing that at the end of the day I am not alone....well...that's just not the case. Those are the facts.

this above resonates so much with me. How many days and years have I wished for a shoulder to lean on or just for company who can understand what I am going through. But I was alone, these were the fact as you say. Now, in hindsight, I must say that it brought me lots of worries, but mostly lots of strenght and practical know how. It really brought me to a space where I can say NO, if needed, ask for help where and when I need help, if needed (which very often is not needed but we think we need help), and know what I will not accept. In fact, it opened the door of truth without compromising (including compromising with my inner self) and of love, without compromising either. It did develop my ability to love by itself, without any support, just because it has to be the best way, applied and active in every day action. I do not know what will develop in you through being alone, but I do know it will bring you strenght.

sic.....

But at the end of the day, I am on my own. For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health. Hahaha, sorry, I thought that was funny....

Yes, marrying oneself instead of someone else, trusting oneself, Learning to take care of oneself lol. In my case, my daughter was included all those years with me, but I am now Learning to take care of my own needs.

sic...
Much Love,

Much love to you too, the wonderful being that you are

try to understand that in space, the only thing holding a life on any sort of track, is intensity of self, and whatever the local influences may be.

This post just hit me between the eyebrows!!

Could spiritual growth equate learning to take the shell with oneself through strenghtening oneself enough (with life expériences and workings) to pass through the local influences, blocked, entertained??? Is the soul wrapping itself around earthly like expériences in order not to disperse and in order strenghten itself to hold the path she is on?

I will surely ponder for a few days, and maybe more, on that one

_______________

Ulli, I abound with your views of evolution, except for the Sun and even Earth, I do think they have much more applied creative will than we can imagine.

Thank you Paula and thank you Flash. Made me giggle and warmed my heart.

Next weekend Em and I go clean the new house, clear the old energy, fill it with Light and Good Intentions, and seal it up. Then we pack like crazy. We will move in a few weeks. I am so excited to be in my new home. One with no history, no energy entanglements. Yes, I will be free of the maintenance here, but though the yard is a third of the size it will be a challenge. It will be *my* challenge though.

I am trying to stay focused on the excitement of the new beginning rather than how scary it is to step off the cliff. After all, my Wings will catch me. And maybe I will even fly :)

Thank you, thank you Sierra for connecting my friend Grant up with the healing energies of the good loving souls here. Grant (meet him here (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?46284-Birchbark-canoe-building-video&p=504767), if you want) is doing tremendous. Friday they got him stabilized and pre-prepped. Saturday morning was the surgery. The cardiac surgeon said the operation (which ended up to be a quadruple bypass) "couldn't have gone better." The rest of Saturday was a day of recuperation from surgery in the CICU (cardiac intensive care unit.) Today, Sunday, Grant was completely lucid (of course, will never remember the time from the anesthesia through the recovery) and cracking jokes. Said the pain was not too bad (the surgeon said "you'll feel like you got hit by a train today", but Grant told him it was not that bad, "it was a slow moving trolly car.") He has a low RBC count, so he's tired, but they won't transfuse him at all unless the red blood cell count goes even lower.

Today, they got Grant up, and had him "march"-in-place, and he sat in a chair to eat brunch. Absolutely amazing - considering that they cut his sternum in half yesterday, spread his ribs apart, and performed a quadruple bypass on him. Seventy-two years young, strong as a horse, and his lifestyle (very physical, he's an archeologist, luthier, canoe-maker/kayak-maker, furniture maker, world-class bird carver, brewmaster, CSA organic micro-farmer) helped him build extra vascular tissue around his heart - as well as allowed him this speedy of an initial recovery.

Thank you for the prayers, good vibes, healing energy, and love sent his way. It HELPED!

His significant other, Christy, got news that her sister-in-law (that Grant and especially Christy had been visiting in the hospital {she had had a severe brain aneurism} for the past 3 months) died the same morning that Christy was seeing Grant get loaded onto a helicopter to be airlifted to a hospital capable of bypass surgery. So, you can imagine the emotional tornado that Christy has been experiencing. She's here with me, getting nurtured, and we've been at the hospital most of the past 3 days together. Keep sending loving energy her way too!

Again, thank you all for your positive energy!

Love, Dennis

Batten Down the Hatches

The forecast is for blizzard conditions where from this evening through Tuesday afternoon it’ll come down 1”- 4”/1.5-10 cm an hour. And with 40-60 mph winds, the drifts will be 4’-6’/1.2-1.8m. Then more snow on Thursday evening into Friday. I remind myself one storm at a time.

4”- 6”/10 -15 cm of snow this past weekend. It’s snowing now. I went out to feed the birds three days worth. I told them I can’t come out for at least a couple of days. I went to the market for back-up bird seed. It was jammed packed. People seemed to be in their own little worlds, not paying attention plopped themselves in the middle of the lanes or plowing out into the main aisle without checking. The police could’ve made a lot of money for the state handing out tickets to shoppers.

Being on the north side, there’s a lot of drifting, so through the night I shovel to stay ahead of it. Last year I over slept and it was struggle to open my door. Lori ended up having to replace my screen door. The guy downstairs had to climb out his window which is on the north side because he couldn’t get out his door that’s on the protected side. Even with his long legs, he labored through the snow and drifts on my side.

Got lots of water ready because if the electricity goes out, I loose water, heat and lights. One good thing is I don’t have to worry about Wolfie this winter.

My neighbor exited his window. He’s trudging through to the other side to shovel a path to his door. As I post a couple of hours later, the path has now disappeared.

I went out four times through the night to stay ahead of it. I gave up shoveling a path from the stairs to the driveway because only hours later it filled back in because of drifts and blizzard winds.

Before the last clearing, the first three deck stair were completely gone. By the time I got down there I found a fourth step and then the cement slab.

I've been seeing my friend Rosie who is struggling with her health issues, which are considerable.
If anyone ever had cause for malpractice litigation, it would be her.
She came back to Barbados because she now only trusts that ocean water to heal her. Woke up one day and saw that LA was toxic.
Duh!
So I've been giving her treatments with the MicroMat, which are helping.
But a miracle from the Villagers would trump everything, including the ocean as well as the opiates she is getting for the pain.

Speaking of Prince, 432hz tuning, soundscapes, aerospace governmental groups being involved in telekinesis experiments, and then dimensional shifting and anti-gravity...:

WJpnWdQzJJI

Always takes a few seconds to get used to but it seems natural after a very short bit. less than minutes.

Which is how we were shifted to 440hz, as it was a quick, but wholly incorrect adjustment. the entire note scale was adjusted, note by note, so it seemed more natural. this is why it does not really work when one simply pitch shifts the average western recording (as found on yootoob), it takes a full on proper adjustment to the entire note scale, before recording..then record it appropriately. It is less noticeable, with regard to problems felt, in these 'soundscape spacial bits' of sound.

Even then, some don't like it, as they've had an entire mind and hearing system that has been run into that perception, since birth, as their ears began the learning of processing sounds. Most people are literally wired to hear things incorrectly, and have developed a comfort zone, a normalcy... around that.

According to the forum software, this post is too short – go figure. :)
Some thoughts on free speech in relation to the forum. We know how this thread and some others have contributed over the years to make Avalon a friendlier place. By the same token, I suggest that freedom of thought is similarly contagious. The fact that people here can and do express all kinds of experiences and ideas where the degree of truth and the level on which it is true can sometimes be problematic, to say the least, provides an atmosphere in which others, who may actually accept very little of what they are reading, can come out with their own material. This is where style actually becomes more important than content; that is because there are many more ways to misunderstand than understand what is going on. Whatever the value of any given content, it has the effect of opening the reader’s mind and taking it ‘out of the box’, thereby expanding the space in which to develop their own thought – although there is also some resistance to this action.

We can see the same scenario unfolding in the recent mainstream debate, with millions taking to the streets to claim and thereby already start enforcing their right to free speech: let’s see where it all leads. At the moment, the divide is between those who see the world of difference between the symbolism of language and pictures undermining the symbolism of religious leaders, and the total incomprehension of the very idea of symbolism that ends in bloodbaths of every kind, not just terrorism and jihad beheadings, but also wars and drones and all the other more insidious ways of killing people. Islamists are only the frontline troops in this war again reason. Anyone still not sure about where they stand on this might like to read my post here. http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?53288-Why-Laughter-is-the-Best-Weapon-Against-the-Moral-Idiocy-of-the-Controllers&p=895864&viewfull=1#post895864

When this gets translated into words, what we see is more like this repetitive forum scenario. Say two members we might call ISlamIslam and MeccaNo get into an argument with the members TheProphetMotive and AnInchIsAsGoodAsaMile. The latter pair would likely get unsubscribed for their vicious ad hominem attacks, one of the former might get deactivated for getting into an argument, and the other might retire in disgust, to great consternation among their friends. This is the sort of thing that happens at the edge of any group or community, and at the borders of a country, at the point where there is a divide between belonging and not belonging. The point of this little illustration is to show how terrorism with a Kalashnikov is itself at the edge of a broader phenomenon: everyday terrorism, notably with words. How the pen is literally mightier than the sword, i.e. fighting the same battles, when it should be doing something different altogether. This is terrorism with words as practised sometimes by influential writers with a gift beyond your anonymous poster on the Internet, which is what I want to look at now.

I have never had the basic training in philosophy, which is a pity because whenever a philosopher is mentioned or quoted, it feels like one is expected to have a grasp of his entire work at one’s fingertips, if not everyone else’s as well. This is tough going for someone used to the literary type of quotation where any context not given is largely irrelevant to the point being made.
So when, years ago, I tried to catch up on background by reading Bertrand Russell’s A History of Western Philosophy, I was bemused at the way in which he slugs off the philosophers one by one, and takes very few prisoners. My thought was, how could an entire discipline attract such a bunch of losers when other wisdom writings like the Tao to King just keep on giving? The trouble, I think, is with Russell himself, who brought his background as a logician and mathematician to bear in his battle against idealism. When I deconstructed just one unimportant sentence, there wasn’t much left at the end, so maybe Russell’s modus operandi for his overall negative outlook was his own vacuous prose, and I had seen through him just as he thought he saw through everyone else. Or maybe, to put it another way, maybe his logic lacks logic, or his revolt against idealism lacks… substance. (I once had a similar experience with the prose of Richard Dawkins, but that is another story.)

Take Henri Bergson, whom I am interested in at the moment: being wary of Russell, this voice of reason, I found some rather disturbing stuff in his chapter on the French philosopher. First this, from his introduction:

The main effect of Bergson’s philosophy was conservative, and it harmonized easily with the movement which culminated in Vichy. But Bergson’s irrationalism made a wide appeal quite unconnected with politics, for instance to Bernard Shaw, whose Back to Methuselah is pure Bergsonism. Forgetting politics, it is in its purely philosophical aspect that we must consider it.

If the last sentence is to make any sense, that political swipe was totally uncalled-for. Actually it is a smear since as a Jew (Bergson’s name was originally Bereksohn), he was more of a victim than a collaborationist, “renouncing all of the posts and honours previously awarded him, rather than accept exemption from the antisemitic laws imposed by the Vichy government” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Bergson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Bergson) But the man who claims to be interested in the ‘purely philosophical aspect’ has to build up his case somehow when he admits to not having a complete grasp of it: ‘I do not fully understand it myself, and therefore I cannot hope to explain it with all the lucidity which it doubtless deserves.’ Then ‘irrationalism’, as a term used to describe ‘a theory that nonrational forces govern the universe’ (Webster's College Dictionary), is too close to the primary meaning of the word, ‘irrationality in thought or action’. It doesn’t take much of a glance at Bergson’s work to see that his is rather a theory that an element of nonrationality plays a role in the human experience – and hence that it also does so in Russell’s prose. This is not written with the mathematical precision of a logician: it is a hit piece.

Would this then be an egregious example of what is known as ‘literary terrorism’? Actually no (at least not at first glance): worse still, the terrorist here is… Henri Bergson.

The notion of Terrorism dates from Revolutionary France. The Terror was defined by Robespierre as implacable justice enforcing Virtue. Hence state terror predates the insurrectionary variety. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reign_of_Terror It was self-contradictory from the start, being the recourse to violence to enforce equality and ultimately peace and, to paraphrase Jesus, Robespierre, who lived by the guillotine, died by the guillotine. The concept of Terror in Literature was first explored by Jean Paulhan in Les Fleurs de Tarbes ou la Terreur dans les lettres. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2444171.The_Flowers_of_Tarbes (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2444171.The_Flowers_of_Tarbes)
Here is an excerpt from Michael Syrotinski’s introduction to his English translation: http://www.readysteadybook.com/Article.aspx?page=floweroftarbesintro (http://www.readysteadybook.com/Article.aspx?page=floweroftarbesintro)

“We call periods of Terror those moments in the history of nations (which often follow some famine), when it suddenly seems that the State requires not ingeniousness and systematic methods, nor even science and technology—no one cares about any of that—but rather an extreme purity of the soul, and the freshness of a communal innocence. Consequently citizens themselves are taken into consideration, rather than the things they do or make: The chair is forgotten in favor of the carpenter, the remedy in favor of the doctor. Skill, knowledge, and technique, however, become suspect, as if they were covering up some lack of conviction.” (Flowers, 24)

Terror, then, stands not so much for the historical events themselves, but rather for a decisive turning point in French history, and more specifically in French literary history. This is described by Paulhan as a shift from the rule-bound imperatives of rhetoric and genre to the gradual abandonment of these rules in Romanticism and its successors, with the consequent search for greater originality of expression. This opposing imperative is what Paulhan terms Terror. Terrorist writers are those who demand continual invention and renewal, and denounce rhetoric’s codification of language, its tendency to stultify the spirit and impoverish human experience. Paulhan finds examples of the Terrorist dismissal of rhetoric in, for example, Rémy de Gourmont’s condemnation of “moral clichés,” or Antoine Albalat’s scorn for “picturesque clichés,” or Flaubert’s ironic dictionary of received ideas. In fact, everywhere he looks, Paulhan sees evidence of Terror in action: For Hyppolite Taine, Racine was “the epitome of verbalism” (Flowers, 28); for Renan the entire classical literary tradition was “an abuse of rhetoric” (Flowers, 28); and Brunetière discredited Malherbe’s poetry for similar reasons. When Paulhan turns his attention to more contemporary examples, he comes across the (dangerously seductive) “power of words,” and broadens his discussion beyond the realm of literature by including personal anecdotes, amusing little stories, and popular journalism (the clichés of the time being, for example, “ideological warfare,” “the youth of today,” “freedom,” “popular opinion,” and so on). Henri Bergson is seen by Paulhan as the supreme “anti-verbalist” critic of the first half of the twentieth century, and is described as Terror’s own philosopher. Bergson’s challenge to literature is “without doubt the most serious reproach made in our time: that the author of commonplace expressions gives in to the power of words, to verbalism, to the influence of language, and so on” (Flowers, 20).

The opposition between Terror and Rhetoric appears, then, to polarize two conflicting ideologies of expression, which seem to be mutually exclusive and irreconcilable: on the one hand the aspiration toward originality, and on the other the attraction to the stability of the commonplace, and this is seen by Paulhan as something that is a universal characteristic of literature and language, and not limited to any particular historical or cultural context. After he amply demonstrates the persuasive power of Terror’s arguments, Paulhan proceeds to cast doubt on the validity of its philosophy: “Not that I find the mystical possession or the self-effacement of critics or scholars—nor, earlier in the text, the revolution—in the least bit contemptible. Far from it. I’m simply suspicious of a revolt, or a dispossession, which comes along so opportunely to get us out of trouble” (Flowers, 15). He then dismantles Terrorist claims by showing that they are the victims of an optical illusion: “These days when we come into contact with literature and with language, we are only able to know them, to appreciate them, and therefore also to continue them ourselves, thanks to a series of errors and illusions as crude as an optical illusion” (Flowers, 65). Terrorist writers are, as he shows, paradoxically enslaved to language, since they spend all their time trying to bypass it, or rid it of its clichés:

“For Terror is above all dependent upon language in a general sense, in that it condemns a writer to say only what a certain state of language leaves him free to express: He is restricted to those areas of feeling and thought where language has not yet been overused. That is not all: No writer is more preoccupied with words than the one who at every point sets out to get rid of them, to get away from them, or to reinvent them.” (Flowers, 76)

Terror’s “optical illusion,” then, takes the form of a kind of blindness to its own rhetorical status. According to Paulhan, both Terrorists and Rhetoricians are justified in their conceptions of literature, and therefore are both equally unjustified. The problem is compounded in that the two “sides” in this exchange are in fact opposing perspectives on the same literary or linguistic object. What appears to some as verbalism (“just words”) appears to others as authentic expressiveness (ideas or thoughts), and this becomes the central enigma of The Flowers of Tarbes: How is it possible to tell whether an author intended his or her words to be read as literary clichés or as original expressions? Commonplace expressions thus reveal a deep-seated tension within language and literature. They are “janus-faced” forms of language, as Blanchot puts it, which “subject the reader to equivocation.”5

How does Paulhan attempt to resolve this tension? Paulhan’s solution to the paradox is a revalorization (or a “reinvention”) of rhetoric, a redoubled Rhetoric he will distinguish from the accepted understanding of the term by capitalizing it (and which he will also refer to as Maintenance). He suggests that writers should recognize clichés as clichés, and thereby establish a communally agreed-upon Rhetoric in order to remove the perplexing ambiguity that characterizes commonplace expressions:

“Clichés may once again take up residence in literature the day they are at last deprived of their ambiguity and their confusion. Now all it should require, since the confusion stems from a doubt as to their nature, is simply for us to agree, once and for all, to accept them as clichés. In short, we simply need to make commonplace expressions common” ... (Flowers, 79)

Paulhan’s stance he calls Maintenance midway between Terror and Rhetoric is a blatant failure to meet Einstein’s requirement of finding a solution on a different level from that of the problem. There seems to be no place to go to settle the argument between Bergson, seen as a terrorist, and the aggressive rhetoric of Russell, an author who saw nothing strange about accepting a Nobel Prize, or all things for Literature, for this best-seller about philosophers. Well, there is a place to go, but first of all, before we come to alleged Bergsonian terrorism, we can take another look at Russell’s empty rhetoric, in the following quote:

His doctrine of space is required for his condemnation of the intellect, and if he fails in his condemnation of the intellect, the intellect will succeed in its condemnation of him, for between the two it is war to the knife [my emphasis]... This not only disproves Bergson’s theory as to number, but also his more general theory that all abstract ideas and all logic are derived from space.

First off, to expect “condemnation of the intellect” to pass as a valid assessment of the work of a man who devoted his life to writing philosophy was asking for trouble, and Russell received plenty of backstabbing from his peers. So much for his killer intellect. See www.klemens.sav.sk/fiusav/doc/.../10/890-904.pdf (http://www.klemens.sav.sk/fiusav/doc/.../10/890-904.pdf)

Abstract
This paper is devoted to Bertrand Russell’s criticism of Henri Bergson’s philosophy. It traces out the origins of that criticism and analyses its essence, reasons and development in Russell’s works. Because of the importance of the concepts of space and time for Bergson’s philosophy and, in turn, the importance of continuity and discreteness for the understanding of space and time, the central part of the analysis concerns the views of the both philosophers on continuity and discreteness, including Zeno’s paradoxes. The main thesis of the paper is that Russell’s criticism of Bergson’s philosophy comes, to a great extent, from Russell’s misunderstanding of Bergson.

If it is “war to the knife”, then on his own terms, Russell’s argument is very dead, for a number of reasons, one being his buying into an old “conventional fiction” of mathematics, another being his lack of training in “introspective analysis”. On the other hand, one would expect Bergson’s training in introspective analysis to lead to the discovery that Paulhan’s criticism of Bergson’s philosophy likewise comes, to a great extent, from Paulhan’s misunderstanding of Bergson.

One aspect of Russell’s empty rhetoric is the straw man argument of Bergson’s allegedly “dualistic” philosophy. However, as we see with the “condemnation of the intellect” remark, it is his own thinking that is dualistic, and it is left to Bergson himself to demolish the straw man in the very first paragraph of Matter and Memory, a paragraph that Russell seems to have only read halfway through:

THIS book affirms the reality of spirit and the reality of matter, and tries to determine the relation of the one to the other by the study of a definite example, that of memory. It is, then, frankly dualistic. But, on the other hand, it deals with body and mind in such a way as, we hope, to lessen greatly, if not to overcome, the theoretical difficulties which have always beset dualism, and which cause it, though suggested by the immediate verdict of consciousness and adopted by common sense, to be held, in small honour among philosophers.
www.reasoned.org/dir/lit/matter_and_memory.pdf (http://www.reasoned.org/dir/lit/matter_and_memory.pdf)

So when dualistic thinking is applied to the refutation of its alleged working in others, that will doubtless be because the writer is incapable of recognizably nondualistic thinking even when the label on the can tells him that is what it is. He can then apply all the logic he likes, but as his premises are plain wrong, he cannot go anywhere with them. So what is the way out of this duality?

A modern literary theorist not so recently examined this apparent opposition between rhetoric on the one hand and terrorism on the other (Jean Ricardou, Problèmes du nouveau roman, Seuil, 1967, p.125-144). In this reading, both are seen as bowing to the ‘dogma of expression’. Rhetoric is the happy use of language in order to express something. Sophisticated language allows more effective expression; it inevitably has an inflationary poetical or literary content that becomes codified (classicism). Romanticism introduced the notion of sincerity, rejecting the rhetorical device as cliché. Hence, when rhetoric prescribes how to say things, this uncomfortable form of rhetoric in search of originality that Paulhan calls terrorism proscribes those devices, almost to the point where literature devours language as it consumes it, and words can only be used once.

The duality here lies, according to Ricardou, in the absence of context. In the case of rhetoric, you are bringing an extraneous rule-book to bear; in the case of terrorism, you have no model at all and are constantly starting from scratch. It is shown how Paulhan’s suggested middle course, which he calls Maintenance, in fact works no differently, for it too focusses on short segments which he refuses to place within a broader context. The lesson is that there is no innocent relationship between expression and the thing expressed, since there is always a bigger picture (context) to disturb it. Hence, for example, Russell’s pointed attack on Bergsonian number, which he claims stands or falls as a critique of the bigger picture, is bound to fall, being deliberately cut off from the broader context (replaced with his own context), and so cannot claim to invalidate the general theory as advertised.

The solution of creative writing is to replace the idea of expression with the notion of functioning (fonctionnement). This involves actually embracing and developing the broader context, and thereby deferring expression. The ‘dogma of expression’ refers to the supposed existence of a pre-established something, whether it be God, the world, me or whatever… Creativity on the contrary does not work from an end product as much as it works in an endless process of producing something. This is the method that Bergson, the author of L’évolution créatrice (Creative evolution), apparently brings to bear in creating philosophical concepts.

How he does this bears a striking similarity to the skull brain/gut brain duality analyzed by the Jungian depth psychologist Remo Roth as I described on this forum at the end of last year. Thus Bergson distinguishes between a surface self (moi de surface) and a deep self (moi profond) coexisting and unaware of each other (surface in the sense of partial, deep in the sense of total). These he relates to notions of time (duration), emotion (as motion), memory and freedom. And when he speaks in restrictive terms of the intellect, I expect he is referring to the activity of this surface self within an overall process that also involves the deep self. I still have to do this research, but clearly if it turns out that the philosopher and the psychologist, each coming from their own angle, are actually talking about the same thing, then that would tend to validate both, leading potentially to some valuable cross-fertilization.

Evening coffee tastes weird. It's as if my senses demand much more quality. In the morning even the cheapest roasts taste delicious.

Have some deadlines to meet.

Speaking of time, there's a thing about time that circles around me. I'm a timely person. I get where I want, preferably a few minutes earlier. When I put my alarm clock on, it regularly happens I wake up one or two minutes before it goes off. But all my watches die on me. And I am not a big spender in terms of watches. I will get one and only replace it if it has become entirely useless. And so, I'm left with a large collection of watches, each of them with a problem. Not all insolvable but there are only some worth the investment of repair. My latest sample just perished. If I can't find the pin that keeps the bands together, I will give up on watches and "just" use my biorithm.

Our doctor caused me to worry. I don't know how to handle the situation. He said he wanted to talk about my mother and I thought it was forbidden to talk about other people's medical records, so I thought it must be very serious then. He said he was worried about some things my mother said. He's very into current affairs and uses every opportunity to delve into the subject, I have the impression he does it out of sincere curiosity. He thinks she's become more radical in her religious endeavours and he hasn't got a good feeling about it. I first asked him if he had told her this. And he said she wouldn't understand (which is true, the philosophical rhetoric that is custom to him tends to make his messages very wrapped).
And so I told him that this is how the elderly become after pilgrimage, because of the pilgrimage itself and because of the realisation that they are getting older. Everything gets a more religious touch in their lives and they overall are supposed to be more pious as a sign that their pilgrimage was taken seriously. Yet he didn't accept that explanation and set an ultimatum for her. Either she becomes "normal" again or he won't have her at his cabinet anymore. We've known the doctor for decades. It's a confusing and debilitating situation. I must yet talk to my siblings about it. My mother knows it already and shrugged it off saying he's always been a hard-headed man (which is also true). However, now, a decades long relation (that I very much enjoyed because he is an interesting man who enfolded himself to us as more than a doctor, a thinker, a philosopher, a sociologist, an artist) is at stake because of this perception.

During that same visit I talked to him about being (remember my be-message). How we can all be. I hope he heard something in that.

She just has to fake it for him, to think ahead a bit. And thus retain the doctor, if he is a good one.

Some people are too reactionary, too much the animal. We can't relate openly to them all, so try not to antagonize the ones who help but simply cannot see around the given corner. A 'let it go', kind of scenario. Like training an untrainable wild animal. Like my tendency to end up with wolf hybrids. Untrainable, so I just let them be.... and change my behavior to accommodate them. It was more my growing up than that of the dog.

I hope too, that your doc gets the BE-ing thing.
When giving advice to others, or showing concern for them there is nothing more important than checking the self, that it is not engaged in mere projection.
Ultimately all church sermons are monologues, and that includes every post we make here on Avalon.
And Carmody's advice is good, to "retain the doctor, if he is a good one".
He may just be going through crisis phase with his own unfoldment.

Another thought, which popped up after reading araucaria's post... about duality thinking.
Even if one has evolved enough to see the two sides of a coin, it is still not good enough.
The answer lies in "spectrum" thought. Seeing the gradualness of stuff, from the minus infinite to the plus infinite, as a blending spectrum.
Black and white thought, without the infinite shades of grey in between, just doesn't cut it for me anymore.

The flow of time (TIME), from infinite past, to NOW, to infinite future, all seen as flow, rather than bites or bytes.
Sorry if this all sounds obscure...I understand it requires a leap to get there.
But it's worth it if you try.

Ah, unfold, yes, thanks, Ulli. :hug:

I have a lot of reading up to do. After doing some juice fasting I was compelled to perception mode. It's as if time stood still. I have a fasting thread somewhere, maybe I should go and elaborate there, someday.

I think I'll start with the duality post up here by Araucaria, because, as you say, Ulli, seeing both sides of a coin is not enough, and sometimes it outright sucks. This is why I'm going to dwell on this with my siblings to see how they experience the matter, and maybe new elements will pop up. The doctor himself is great, both at his job and as a person, in as far as we got to know him from our consultations, which over that long a stretch of time can be taken as a reference.

2 album updates in the album: What does it mean? (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/album.php?albumid=809). Don't be scared of the animals, at least one of them was nice to me. And now that we're in this album. I watched a Credo interview after reading the newsletter. I had watched it a long time ago, at the start of the quest, but this second viewing seemed more informative now. I was making links to Shehrazade (when Credo talked about a king who killed every wife who was no longer able to fulfill his desires) and to a religious verse that speaks of how men and women are created as enemies to one another (when he talked about the red and the green cave producing resp. men and women who hated each other because of their differences) and then he talked about what happened when he disappeared near the mountains, which brought back to my mind pictures eleven and fifteen in this album. I wrote a small thing about South Africa in the past. If I could write it again, I would insert a chapter on the Zulu belief.

And lastly, I've seen a circle close over a cycle of approximately 17 years. At the beginning of this circle, I asked myself an important question, then spent 17 years answering it. Now at the end of that circle, I observe that I'm back where I asked myself an important question*, the same one.
What planet comes close to causing that kind of event over that duration?

Your pinky is accurate, Flash. I plan my outings around the weather. It's snowing again. Grrrr!!!! Third time in less than a week. I went out yesterday, but felt like I expended more energy avoiding the slippery spots which there were many. I still say I'd rather this weather than the hot, sticky humidity. I get really cranky.

No apology needed, Roy and I wasn’t embarrassed. Thanks for your concern. It was an extreme storm. According to totals, we had the greatest amount of snow dumped in the state. Without including the snow drifts it was 27”.

I’m fortunate to have designed a life where I don’t need to drive in bad weather. Last spring when I hurt my back lifting the air conditioner, it was a wake up call that I’m getting older. I don’t like the thought of being hyper vigilant about a broken leg or worst.

January has been a month of little snow and lots of clouds, thankfully not too cold as it could be. I guess that's better than bag dark and rainy December (well, we did have white Christmas) and November. Today I actually saw the sun shining for some hours, it was nice since it's been weeks when it's been sunny at all. There have been only occasional glimpses of sun before this, I almost forgot that it even existed. Can't wait for spring! Just a couple of months now...

OK, finishing up a very emotional week, having been with a good friend right after his arrival (med-evac helicopter ride) at a local hospital for emergency heart surgery. His recovery from the brink of death has been so heartwarming (I know, I know, but it really fits.) Successful quadruple bypass surgery (he's a non-smoker, thin wiry build, grows and eats organic food, ...) He's getting discharged from the hospital tomorrow (only 1 week in the hospital), and I'll drive him home.

So, the mood is lighter - much lighter - today, and I found this silly Jim Gaffigan stand-up comedy routine made me laugh out loud, and laugh hard (so I wanted to share it with all of you.) It is very irreverent, so if you can't take irreverent humor, please don't watch it.

Thanks for all the good vibes sent my way, and my friend's way this past week!

Well, part of the problem, it might be stated... is that observation can 'go there' but the reflected recognition of it, for the larger part, cannot. The vehicle fails and we end in the circular argument as a reductionist and steadily reducing tailing. It winds down, as the vehicle (reality in 3d timespace) exists so. Philosophy, by the nature of the attempt at reach (attempts at encompassing greater complexities), enters a form of degenerative entropy --things that exist in 'time', reality, and the greater systems the encompass the attempt itself. Ie, the reach (attempt) and the reality are in convergence.

Just like my reply..it begins at the end of yesterday and ends at the nothingness, the zero point of tomorrow, but expressed today, as a 'point'. The now.

Since we have but the now, and all points of yesterday, today, and tomorrow are connected to such, then presence is the final result, and all else begins and ends.

If you are a regular traveler it is worth applying for something called Global Pass.
Miami is a main hub between North and South America.
Loads of planes arrive there in the middle of the day and people need to reconnect to their next flight.
I had a little less than two hours connection time and it was perfect timing. Had there been a slight delay

...and so it is,

Cleverly hidden, cleverly divided...Spirit and Science (philosophy and psychology)

The active 'wide open' unraveling and revealing of the corrupt system we are deceived(past/future) to live 'under' creates creation... WE grow and flourish as conscious and active conduits of Source(truth in all seen and unseen expressed in this very moment)

We re-awaken 'presence' actively!

Living in Nature and with Nature and expressing Nature 'creates' the now-knowing...
the 'moment' that has been stolen BEcomes re-established, moment by moment!

Recovery IS Now, the Point!

My simple expression in action in the moment, here and now!

What we are left with, if the attempt at wordsmithing nears the absolute, is likened to a cat clawing at the slippery sides of an enameled bathtub, in utter futility and ineffectiveness.

To describe, in nearness, infinity of now, in the expressions of lower components of that now, ie time, past/future..which are likened to memory..is to attempt in futility. The convergence into infinity of wordsmithing will move into appearing as gobbledegook to the person who is reading it.

Reading it is anchored in the realm, and is a subset, not of the whole. So the step down of wordsmithing which is near to infinity (from the inner infinity) will necessarily, de-facto, via it's point in existence, most definitely appear as madness to the reader (and even to the writer).

One of the tell-tale signs of approaching infinity in the avatar, is the moments of seeming madness of the avatar, as it is indeed a subset, not a whole, in the idea of it's presence and communications in the flavor of those subsets.

In the end (if one may call it that), wordsmithing, like voice, like sharing, like physicality, all must move aside and the individual (as we may call it) must make the choice to move into the final components, themselves. The internal madness of self in those times is a complex enough system to bear, and the external application via outer/other, only serves to make it magnitudes worse.

The final understanding is that the writer comes to find that no amount of externally applied systems can or will suffice, but do indeed endanger, complexify for no reason beyond introduction of the issue, and create naught more than pause (when at the wordsmithing limits)..... and then one in such a situation says 'oh' to themselves... and metaphorically, takes the pen and punches it through their own 'I', and begins the deeper process of self unity and infinite connection.

Well, now time for me to ask for your good vibes towards me - it did work for my thyroid gland, the cyst is staying grey up to now.

Today, I just lost a job that took me 5 years to find. Although i did not truly like it and that it was surrounded by lawyers, it was putting food on the table.

In two weeks from now, i have no more revenues nor unemployment because prior to it, I was self employed (and had been through a two years kind of depression, long story... not that much money in the latter years )

I do have an exceptional curriculum, but I am older and for older women, discrimination is at its heaviest - more than for colored people or immigrants - the stats are showing it very clearly.

I need to put food on the table for Mini Flash who is entering college next year. And she cannot work while studying because of her difficulties due to aphasia from birth. She has to concentrate on studies. I am quite discouraged.

Plus the boyfriend showing some of his nastier sides lately.

Ouf, life is difficult, altogether, I had it very difficult in this lifetime. Although Carmody would surely say it is a breeze on this planet when comparing from where he was in a previous life - i am not naked being whipped/worked to death.

Well, you know..certain types of people needed a place to go, when they leave here. A choice they can make, in order to take a chance. A chance that it might re-align them to a understanding that they might more desire to be, as an outcome. That place, it had to be tested, it had to be tuned to the moment that is to come, for that sort. It does indeed, as places go... give one a very solid chance to develop clarity.

Time to relax: Amazing photos, unbelievable landscapes on Planet Earth

Happy Earth Day! Every year on April 22, the world celebrates this amazingly diverse planet we call home, focusing on ways to protect it from the often destructive practices of its human inhabitants. While many of these efforts focus on the conservation of Earth's most fragile habitats, we frequently forget just how extreme and alien-like our own planet can be. The photos below showcase Earth's unbelievably varying landscapes and remind us that we often live our lives confined only to a minuscule part of this amazing planet.

Time to relax: Amazing photos, unbelievable landscapes on Planet Earth

Nick Wing
The Huffington Post

Happy Earth Day! Every year on April 22, the world celebrates this amazingly diverse planet we call home, focusing on ways to protect it from the often destructive practices of its human inhabitants. While many of these efforts focus on the conservation of Earth's most fragile habitats, we frequently forget just how extreme and alien-like our own planet can be. The photos below showcase Earth's unbelievably varying landscapes and remind us that we often live our lives confined only to a minuscule part of this amazing planet.

Mornin' Calz, Good One : )

Hey, I think this guy is on to why alot of the formations are formed as they are and have been formed...I wanna go ridin' around with him some time...He has a 'higher curiosity' and humble excitement that brings it all alive, great lesson for us all : )

...and another good one, through Gio's posts...soooooo much out there now to show people that are showing people the way of 'their very own choices' to make way for ALL the higher reasonings changing it all in front of us in the here and now!!!

Back in Costa Rica, and studying the names of the plants in my garden.
Also studying it through the eyes of our visitors from the north, particularly those who want to bring their binoculars and telescopes.
This place is not just good for bird watching but also has an intesting night sky.

Well sometimes life is just too funny. We got a Great Pyrenees puppy about 4 months ago, a female. I kinda wanted to get a male to breed her to, but figured it would be best to wait until we were on our own property and she is more grown up, since puppies are a handful. A neighbor down the road, maybe a mile away, has a bunch of Great Pyrenees puppies, cute as can be. This guy is going through a terrible divorce with a woman who is mentally unbalanced and got caught and charged with felony child abuse charges. Yes, for those who might remember, this is the same crazy lady we got to listen to scream at her kid for an hour a year and a half ago when we had an RV parked on their property for a short time. Tough situation and I know he is struggling with all the animals she left behind.

I helped feed his animals a couple times about a month ago, when he couldn't make it home, and I know he isn't feeding them like I do the ones I take care of at home. I had totally talked myself out of even considering getting one of his puppies, because for a ton of reasons. So what happens today? My friend who is visiting tells me to grab my coat and come outside. Two of the six puppies have somehow found their way to my house. And they were hungry. Now what to do. One is the big male I was checking out already, and a sweet little female. I guess we'll see what happens. And yes, I couldn't help myself and I did feed them.

so...Keanu Reeves gets his latest film released on a full moon peak. So Neo's latest film says:

And furthermore, an assassin so legendarily fearsome that his nickname is “Baba Yaga”—not because he was believed to be the boogeyman, but because, as Viggo recounts, “he was the guy you sent to kill the ****ing boogeyman.”'

Dark, no doubt... but I find that part of the descriptive ....--interesting.

Hi all! :) I am back from my (much needed) break. How are you? (I will check out the last few pages of this thread).

Things are looking up...learning from my mistakes, and appreciating life, which is so very precious...I have a date tonight too! (first one in years).

When love and hope are bigger than fear and insecurity, when the pain of not trying is greater than the fear of rejection and "losing", because the reality has hit that it's the only way...then the pain and fear is in the right place and the love is in the right place...to motivate in the right ways...I really feel like I have made a big shift, and that the sudden onset of an illness was a big part of that...the whole process has changed me for the better...(and btw my health is getting better, slowly).

Life is amazing! :) <3

Oh dear, another report.

You can do better Calz. Given the history between TOT and Avalon, Cross posting TOT materials on Avalon makes the above statement re your "effort" to honor such a request meaningless.

Rather, you come off like a mouthpiece of Modwiz.

Modwiz does not require Avalon to do his thing.

Bill, and the moderation team do not want Modwiz to do his thing on Avalon.

People can join TOT if they wish to visit with Modwiz.

What I understand here is that the Red Dragons are the Drac's Chinese hand. THey say they have been overridden by the Cabal and that it was not what was intended, and they are asking the Cabal to surrender and submit and they will implement the Financial system and the schooling system and the justice system to make people free within 70 years.

My question: how can you trust that? Still being asked to give our powers away?

IT is just inner fighting amongst reptiles. There must be some difficult time when they are asking the public's help into their program.

Let the reptiles between themselve and have us, humans, define our future.

If I am wrong, prove it to me!

No talk about free energy or no Financial system! Keeping the same system Under other guises? EVen if he describe our governing people as sociopaths? Really!

I get the feeling that some were upset with my past two-three posts in this thread, I spent my time dreaming as if I was being convinced I had committed a murder...and then forced to allow a few angry people to kill me (while others cheered on), ie a form of capitulated suicide.

Of course, some of my other recent posts aren't helping make that a positive identification of anything.....(more of a 'take a number, get in line' scenario)

Carmody, your last posts were spot on. Sometimes people do need the kick, and you were efficient. But sensitive as you are, of course you will feel their anger, and it is not important that they put you on the "take a number" row of their anger, they would do it to anyone and anything. We've got to flush these out of our field.

Interesting…I (mostly) see it as place where people rejected and damaged by this one this congregate and try to say things that they don’t think they can say here. A lot of them seem to see it as a completely independent place where they can “move on” from any forum drama.

I dunno, I can see that, all views are valid views, in the case of the individual's given stage or point. potentials in 'issue' is when it becomes motivated or unconscious inflection upon others. since we are generally blind or unconscious in that area, a blind spot, for the most part, that is a place where the motion or action can be initiated. 'The slide area' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCapM_J0I_Y), if you will. Where we bounce around... and that which manipulates can also operate. Which is why the dragon was also flitting about in the 'dream'.

Generally (largely a separate post): went and looked at some astrology (personal, as well). No wonder my head is giving me grief. Holy crapola. Some astrologers would look at that...and try and figure out how a person could be left standing, or even walk down the street...in that kind of energetic wind. If that ain't the definition of 'astrological cluster****', I don't know what is.

How come there is still confusion about what an Internet forum is, and who the true owners are, especially if the forum is moderated.
Just because some people who in the process of contributing to the discussions become friends or brothers in arms, does not entitle them to attack the rightful owner, nor orchestrate movements to get the forum rules changed.
One needs to learn to distinguish where democratic processes are to be applied, and where they are inappropriate.
Provbial 'too many cooks'.

To me the authority is clearly Bill Ryan, who actually started the forum, and can therefore end it, by simply clicking a delete button or vanishing altogether. Starting battles for forum leadership to me is a serious symptom of a mental glitch.

It becomes particularly idiotic when a group who all share a tendency to rebelliousness turn that tendency against the very person who gave them a free microphone to voice their dissent against current governmental systems.

I've been here over four years and have seen Bill himself becoming the target of this compulsive need to dissect anyone with authority. I just don't get it. I remember each case clearly and all I can say is that I wish I had Bill Ryan's patience.

And if he lets one of these members back in a whole flea bag will open and we will see endless demands to bring back everyone else who has ever been unsubscribed.
I remember one particularly twisted mind attacking Bill of racism, and even losing sleep in the ferociousness of their two wek long assault. Bring someone like that back here for healing, Donk ? You have to be kidding.

Avalon is Bill Ryan, and all that is needed is a little respect for the man. Anyone who has issues with that should go and start their own forum.
Please use your considerable intellect to figure this one out, once and for all.

Like the 'dream', the dragon flits though the system via the lack of consensus... and is enabled by misdirected consensus... consensus enabled via the confusion... created by the sheer noise that is allowed in the system. Allowed in the system, in order to have the democratic core of a free and open system function. the noise is required for the system to work, for the grease of change but the dragon of control..... interferes in the same vein.

Which returns to my point, about 4 posts back. Inflection upon others, via unconsciousness or via directed force, is a goodly part of the problem.

Therefore, the drive in the world system, right now, is to enable, or to continue, in any way possible, a specific form and shape of unconsciousness in the the doorway, in the origins of emergent consciousness, via and within the given impelled and directed 'human avatar'.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Think of a pure energy environment, were intelligence has to be self organized AND immune to attack, immune to parasitical aspects of 'other'.... in order to rob of energy.
Order out of chaos, but disorder must remain, otherwise.. perfected order..... is as dead as pure chaos.
So, order is required, shape is required, in the effect of coming to being..individually... but let it not descend into a controlled order, otherwise it becomes a dead and mindless fuel or food pump, for other.
ie, no organized religion, just the self actuated kind. No government but that of the self. No order but that of the self. Do not inflict upon other, but remain together steadfast, until enough learning of self has taken place and parasites can be recognized, and negotiated, without loss..without being embodied into being a cow in a parasitical machine. (the manipulation of the monkey fears of the avatar, into a system of order, and coupled belonging..which is really just a slide into being in a feeding cage)
Too much order and the order simply becomes a field of cows that are vampirized.
And every time the machine of freedom emerges, when it moves away from being a senseless cow in a vamprized field, when that motion is started, that is when the hammer blows from the parasite move to being at a fevered pitch. In a fever pitch...to either move into being in the organized system, or to smash the attempt at organized open freedom.... into noise and nothingness.
That is what freedom seekers receive from the fascism and the oligarchy.
You could say that galactic inclusion of the human race, at this time, is destined to fracture the human race or human avatar, as it stands, into a powder of nothingness. The differential is too great, for coherence to remain, for the vast group of incarnated individuals.
At the same time this is happening, as a pressure point, we have an oligarchy (of a sorts) which is refusing growth in the human race by blocking growth and knowing, as if that growth and change occurs...the pack and food animal disappears form under their butts and off their plates, and they have to move on to other things, other ways of being, other points of being.
Oh what a tangled web we weave.
I merely shared my view, which carmody claimed was valid as any other...though perhaps some are MORE valid, depending on perspective. Please don't twist mine. I feel like I was pretty clear, that those that have healed would be who I felt belonged here...I know it's not MY forum, and I'm sorry you don't share my opinion. But I NEVER said I wanted rebellious disruptive unhealed folks here.
I also never challenged Bill or this forum in my post. I choose my words carefully, and my only annoyance is when someone projects the opposite of what i intended. I was hoping for unity. I see what it means to you, thanks for your perspective.
A forum to me is different things to different people. It's very different things to me every time I look at it. My favorite use of the forum that Bill so graciously provides is self reflection. A lot of the times, I see in every place, not just--but especially in forums--a revulsion toward honest self reflection.
I am fine with people being repulsed with my sharing of myself. I also learn a lot when those who have a strong emotional reaction to it project on to me.
I thought my views, my perspective was valued. I try to express it as clearly as I can. I hope that others would take the words I give, and not impose theirs on to me. But it is your will...this is your thread...this is Bill's forum, and if ANYONE made clear I was not welcome, i would leave without protest.
My favorite use of the forum that Bill so graciously provides is self reflection. A lot of the times, I see in every place, not just--but especially in forums--a revulsion toward honest self reflection.
And even these things, are merely stages. The realization of such, the understanding of stages....is the beginning of an accelerated growth.
Seek detachment.
Which is why one of my favorite (obviously one of my repeated listings of) examples is:
Ka9mfZbTFbk
My take on Ulli's post is one were she implicitly understands this point and cannot understand why reams of crap would be directed at Bill for living in knowing of this simple (but hard to come by!) point.
The now, in this place, is the balance point, the fulcrum between permanence and impermanence. The fulcrum between history and choice. Stability, beyond the moment... is a death of a sort, but life does not function without the moment of reflection of the past. All these things are interconnected. Life ...is the reflection of past, into growth ...but the fool lets the past own them. And so on.
Interdimensional Plinko, unbounded on either end.
Oh, it's mercury retro...no wonder things are a bit backward.
Jan 21 to Feb 11, then re-tracking for....uh...
Full moon, lotsa headaches.
I get the feeling that some were upset with my past two-three posts in this thread, I spent my time dreaming as if I was being convinced I had committed a murder...and then forced to allow a few angry people to kill me (while others cheered on), ie a form of capitulated suicide.
Of course, some of my other recent posts aren't helping make that a positive identification of anything.....(more of a 'take a number, get in line' scenario)
You might look at what's going on in Japan these days, it immediately came to mind.
It is an interesting point in which to sit, the now. Watching buttons be pushed. Deciding each for ourselves what is right, what is true. Each from our own level of understanding, separateness yet oneness, when to object or join the choir. Though "when" reinforces other moments and not this now. Each from our level of awareness, emotional detachment or maturity, and each from our individualized experience, we make choices. Interesting study in ego.
Things always change. Yet...the changes seem to follow a pattern. So really, nothing does. This contradicts the differing comfort levels in different times and places...we can create a space of safety and this is based on our own drive to make it so. Yet..individuality also produces some obstacles.
It certainly behooves us, each one, to examine where we direct our energy. Our time and our effort. And to examine our intentions and motives. For none are without those.
Light ramblings.
I agree mostly with Ulli on this but as something that has gone on about attacks on Bill Ryan and PA and not specifically about you, or certain things that you have said, donk.
Thinking of it, members and mods have seen attacks on Bill, the mods and the forum here, for years...I suppose sometimes one has seen it one time too many and just kind of "snaps"...or expresses how they see/feel about it when previously they had been biting their tongue about it. I know that it's not just one way...
I do see this as Bill's forum as he is the creator of it, just like my food and nutrition blog is my blog! lol. We are guests here on this forum, and yes it is a community and would not be the same without members.
When I first heard about the other forum a few weeks ago, I checked it out (not the members section as I have not become a member), I was glad that the banned members or other members who have left PA, had a place where they could all be together and still share and discuss things there, with a bunch of people that they knew...but also I had heard of how they (a few) attacked Bill and Omni (and the forum) there and that I did not like or thought it was not fair and not "nice"...(and I suppose that some could feel the same with other people...)...
Peace (I hope! *giggle* :) )
As far as forums go...They seem to me like different rooms in the same house. One can maneuver between them if one so chooses. One can *learn* to maneuver them.
Each room may have a different color palette, a different style, thus a different feel. I think of my girls here, one who had so much pink in her room it was like being inside a pepto bismol bottle. Another had such an aversion to pink she wouldn't own pink socks. So if I bought a pink throw pillow as my energetic contribution, where do you suppose I would have chosen to put it?
I do recall having momentary lapses, whereby I would deliver some science related pink item into the pink room, thinking it would be a good way to broaden the pink horizon. Only to be met with stubbornness and opposition. Or delivering something too girly into the science themed room, to the same reaction.
Everything has its place. Until none of it does any more.
I don't know about that ulli, that Avalon is Bill Ryan. That's an interesting assertion. Certainly, Avalon is his room, to extend the metaphor. It is certainly a reflection of him-good, bad, and indifferent. Your loyalty does not go unnoticed by me. I am sure he appreciates it, and also takes note.
He has done a lot of hard work, in my opinion, for offering a platform for those who previously had no voice. He has earned my respect for that. And whatever his rules, I will follow them as long as I choose to visit his room, and as long as I am welcome.
But wow, one sure does have to be careful to keep the discernment filters working. I could have really been influenced by all that pink or all of that anti-pink. I'm glad I was able to maintain my own space apart from both. It kept me balanced in my own growth.
Speaking from my own experience of course. Much Love,
I’ve read comments over the other forum. There have been character assassinations about Avalon members from a couple of members and administrators. If ‘enlightened and aware’ people do this then what hope is there for those that have not awakened? To that I say, my money is on those beginning to awaken over those the ‘clever and awake ones’.
It also speaks volumes for the administration (over there) that choose not to act on said behaviors or to the members that run the threads who choose not to call them out and tell them to go spew their poison elsewhere. If a forum isn’t a good fit then leave. Period. Cut throat and back-stabbing does not move us to where we want to end up as a whole.
I shake my head thinking all this is much ado about nothing or wonder what’s the real reason for some of the complaints? It reminds me of one’s need for junior high approval. Some breeze in unaware of the larger flow on the forum and in their self-absorbed fashion wine and go poke-poke. There’s so much to clean up in the world why take up time and energy to question the motives of Administration and Mods?
They have no clue of the behind the scene workings. I’ve said this before. In my short twenty-four hour mod status, I read every complaint launched by members about members going back six months. I learned that I didn’t have the patience nor the tolerance for the crap they have to wade through. You’d be surprised how many had gotten pass after pass after pass. Why? Because the Administration and the Mods have a much bigger compassion meter than me.
I share your concern, Paula. (Not sure concern is the rght word.) Among those individuals gathered in the name of Truth, one would expect to find some acceptance of differences. I used to teach tolerance as a concept to my students. But tolerance is only a step toward acceptance. I value acceptance more, these days. Because it implies that the differences between viewpoints, personalities, and levels of development have value. I like that.
You know how I have managed to stay around here so long? Because I put a lot of effort into staying away from things that do not personally involve me. It isn't because I don't care. It is because these situations are a distraction from my own path. For me.
Like the 'dream', the dragon flits though the system via the lack of consensus... and is enabled by misdirected consensus... consensus enabled via the confusion... created by the sheer noise that is allowed in the system. Allowed in the system, in order to have the democratic core of a free and open system function. the noise is required for the system to work, for the grease of change but the dragon of control..... interferes in the same vein.
-------
Think of a pure energy environment, were intelligence has to be self organized AND immune to attack, immune to parasitical aspects of 'other'.... in order to rob of energy.
Order out of chaos, but disorder must remain, otherwise.. perfected order..... is as dead as pure chaos.
So, order is required, shape is required, in the effect of coming to being..individually... but let it not descend into a controlled order, otherwise it becomes a dead and mindless fuel or food pump, for other.
ie, no organized religion, just the self actuated kind. No government but that of the self. No order but that of the self. Do not inflict upon other, but remain together steadfast, until enough learning of self has taken place and parasites can be recognized, and negotiated, without loss..without being embodied into being a cow in a parasitical machine. (the manipulation of the monkey fears of the avatar, into a system of order, and coupled belonging..which is really just a slide into being in a feeding cage)
Too much order and the order simply becomes a field of cows that are vampirized.
And every time the machine of freedom emerges, when it moves away from being a senseless cow in a vamprized field, when that motion is started, that is when the hammer blows from the parasite move to being at a fevered pitch. In a fever pitch...to either move into being in the organized system, or to smash the attempt at organized open freedom.... into noise and nothingness.
Oh what a tangled web we weave.
This is an incredibly appropriate post for my situation at this precise point in time. Once again....
I am just out of a job where I was clearly unhappy, but would have kept it out of fear and insecurities (financial ones), filled with the LAW, legal laws.
I discovered (or already knew but was reminded) that those laws and those applying them are here to control, they are edicted, implemented and used for sheer control, more and more of it. Those doing the control are not even aware of what they are doing.
And then corporate thinking adds up productivity to it where a human becomes a machine, applying laws.
Thinking and changing some of its applications or giving its due to some people takes more time than not doing it, and productivity suffers. All in a vampiristic fashion. Yes, vampirised cows, it is how I felt. And freedom suffers or become basically non existent.
Dead an mindless pump for others. Yes, exactly.
You would not believe the feeling of relief since I quit that job. No security, but true relief.
And the ones holding the control fortress are so threatened by little act of freedom that they will smash it not knowing what they have done. Out of fear from the more disorganised form of thinking/acting.
The gap is so great between the average us and our galactic brothers, and the control gate keepers - the low levels unknowing shepperd dogs - on earth so set in their belief system, that yes, they would be destroyed to nothingness, and they do feel it.
My question then is: are we going to hold in virtual jail (by just keeping the system as is) those who can reach freedom for those who cannot let go of control, and by stopping integration in the greater brotherhood? Where is the solution? Or are we going to accept a major crisis where most lose their mind?
Morning relfections. Now got to run to do the $$ search in order to put food on the table and kiddie at College.
'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'
is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart.
Inspired by the farces of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus (251–183 BC), specifically Pseudolus, Miles Gloriosus and Mostellaria, the musical tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door. The plot displays many classic elements of farce, including puns, the slamming of doors, cases of mistaken identity (frequently involving characters disguising themselves as one another), and satirical comments on social class.
Much Love,
Concerns is a perfect word, One. Sometimes the lines are blurred between the notion of pick your battles vs. jump in to defend another vs. silence is agreement of one trashing another.
I’m the first to say there’s room for me to grow in acceptance of how others interact. It brings up the judge in me. Though, I’m beginning to see that it's in part my Truth and BS meters coming on line. Or more to the point permission to own them. Welcome them. ;)
It is frequently observable that one who trashes another is saying more about themselves. Observation of such can be invaluable when estimating the character of another, but likewise it can be beneficial to recognize when another is speaking from hurt feelings as opposed to venomous slander.
Nice
How come there is still confusion about what an Internet forum is, and who the true owners are, especially if the forum is moderated.
....
Avalon is Bill Ryan, and all that is needed is a little respect for the man. Anyone who has issues with that should go and start their own forum.
Again ... to the best of my knowledge I have never shown lack of respect for Bill, the mods or PA in general.
The first group to splinter off ... the mods ... and start another forum ... I could understand why that would cause bad feelings. I joined and hated it ... tried to leave and was told I could not.
I am still confused about why this other forum has come to harbor such feelings. Appears to be a whole lot of previous PA members banned (rightly or wrongly) but I have always viewed it as brothers and sisters who have great similarities and belief systems who should be aligned.
Why must we always fall for the divide and conquer meme ... have we learned nothing?
Hmmm ...
Moderation requested I not directly link to another forum ... and I have done my very best to honor such a request.
Oh dear, another report.
You can do better Calz. Given the history between TOT and Avalon, Cross posting TOT materials on Avalon makes the above statement re your "effort" to honor such a request meaningless.
Rather, you come off like a mouthpiece of Modwiz.
28796
Modwiz does not require Avalon to do his thing.
Bill, and the moderation team do not want Modwiz to do his thing on Avalon.
People can join TOT if they wish to visit with Modwiz.
People can visit Modwiz's youtube channel.
This is not rocket science. We're a smart bunch of adults here. Supposedly.
Sierra
When a few words or a sentence is parsed off it often can be taken out of context.
What you quoted from me was without the deleted posts prior which would have added context.
I did *not* quote any text or link anything from another forum.
I posted a video available on a youtube channel and added my own words.
My sentence was in reply to a request for more information.
My ***intention*** was quite positive. Someone who (rightly or wrongly) was requesting help with psychic attacks due to what they (allegedly) were doing to try to help humanity at this time.
That was the space I was coming from.
The village has always been a place of great healing and compassion.
Now ... having said all that (in reverse order sequentially ... perhaps due to Mercury Retro) ...
I am very sorry to have been the unwitting fool to cause such a remarkably negative occurrence in this thread.
Wow ...
Sierra ... I have been here (and now) about 4 years now. I would think you know me well enough to know I mean no harm.
Perhaps I am not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree ... but I have a loving and trusting heart.
I *really* *truly* meant well.
I have lost all certainty about what *anyone* posts regarding the true nature of reality ... but I have continued to keep an open mind.
Myself ... I am equally aware of a blog first brought to my attention from a Paul thread:
http://redefininggod.com
Blogger lays out a strong argument that the whole BRICS and East/West conflict is what has actually been planned long ago by the illooney naughties and we are being duped yet again.
... but I hold out hope.
I am not ready to surrender my energy to such.
Anyway ... apologies to the thread and forum for the unintended distruption.
If you believe now that some of them have been healed and belong here again then perhaps you might suggest to them that they take it up with Bill directly, letting him know that now they see that they pushed one too many of his buttons in the past and if allowed to return will promise that they won't behave quite like that in the future.
Thanks ulli, and apologies to you....like I said, I am sensitive when I see something that would make folks get a perspective of me completely opposite of my intent, and truly appreciate hearing clarification of yours...I know we are all responsible for our own reactions, which is why I always try my best to get mine out there at least.
As to that particular topic, my actual action is to try to help THEM see the value in self reflection in hopes of guiding toward them healing, which we can help each other with but I found ultimately true healing is of yourself,for yourself...from within. I am met with as much (or more) resistance there....and see as much (and sometimes more, sometimes less) venom, misunderstanding, projecting, hurt feelings, and most especially DENIAL...there, as I do here (and everywhere else).
So my intention, and actions, are self reflection. By example. It works for me. I can't help but project the value I have gained from it. My tagline here expresses it, the one I use there is the exact the same, but sounds kinda different: I BE the change I want to see.
PS, semi unrelated: I am NOT on board the Dragons and any ambassadors, and I actually thinking about it HAVE attacked someone in a post, someone I actually admire in his stated intent, though just have a hard time buying into, and because the attack used by another cracks me up: Benjamin Full-of-s***-ford (I DON'T actually ATTACK him, perse, but I can see how referring to him as that could be taken that way--i totally don't resonate with his material). Sorry...i just cannot find value in that narrative...it's just me, and I absolutely LOVE the intent, as well as many fine folks that are into it/them...(so I'm sorry Ben, I can't help it! I’ve read comments over the other forum. There have been character assassinations about Avalon members from a couple of members to administration.
Not by me. To the best of my knowledge I have never offered negative comments regarding Bill, the mods or Avalon as a whole.
I'd agree 100% and would say that to of most that have dual membership. It's got to be awkward for you all when those times pop up.
You're a stand up guy, Cal. And I'd list others as well, but don't want to leave anyone out.
I think sometimes people need a reason to move in another direction so they invent slights by others to make a smoother transition to the unknown territory. Some even forget it's okay to let it go. Live the chosen decision. Drop the damn habit of cattiness.
<3
well put Paula. they do invent slights. ive always found it to be so bizarre.
its like the misguided soldier who has been trained to kill, and damnit, he's gonna kill something if its the last thing he does - even if its not warranted. some people just fancy themselves rebellious, and when theres nothing to rebel against, they just make sh!t up. go out in a blaze of glory. that sort of thing. it embarrasses me when when i see it. because, aside from maybe the emotional type of courage it takes to be confessional on a forum at times, there isnt anything even remotely rebellious or courageous about posting words in an *anonymous* internet community. its so corny, that witnessing this type of behavior has at times actually made me shiver.
poor Bill, and Ulli says it perfectly in one of her previous posts, he must be numb to it by now...but there must have been times when he was exasperated to the point of apoplectic fit. i recall the accusations of racism example that were brought up, and at the time i was fearful my facial features would be locked into the shape of a question mark for the rest of my life. i was so confused. its funny: sometimes when people are so wrong, you assume there must be some ingenious logic working there that you must be missing. but no, some people are really that dumb. its taken me a while to learn that one.
regarding Calzy, he's one of the most guileless, sweetest, big-hearted people ive ever come across in this forum universe. if anything, hes been too kind, too neutral. ive only seen him lose his patience once, and it was justified...during that epic battle with whats her noodle. i see where Sierra is coming from; i can see how the wording there might have gotten in her craw a little...but its just a misunderstanding as far as i can see.
the idiots will continue to come and go...and those that do will continue to sh!t on avalon and accuse poor Bill of everything from charlatanism to cannibalism, and it will continue to confuse and embarrass me...but what can you do? ignoring it seems the best tactic, as defending it can lower your IQ significantly (ie "he's not a cannibal! show me one post where he's fessed up to eating the internal organs of other humans!") the accusations are so absurd that dignifying them with a response just feeds the fire.
oh well...
As for the Dragons and any ambassadors, I’m in learning mode with the material. Taking it in slowly. I want food in the bellies and roof over the heads of every human being tout de suite. Too often I’ve allowed sentiment to get in the way of the larger picture. I'm mindful that a quick fix is me not wanting to watch any more pain.
My inclination is the ‘We of Planet Earth’ need to fix what needs fixing and take out the trash. Put on our big folks pants. Otherwise, we’ll never experience what we’re capable of. It’s time that we step into the ‘Art that We Are’.
Finished dinner. Finished dancing. I can dance again after all the horrible stuff that's been pouring over the world. And the realities - a thousand of them, all possibilities, true, or not true...It's a long stairs down and the bottom may very well never appear. So then, in Stromae (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pKrVB5f2W0)'s language, we danced. People give very powerful messages with their bodies, dancing, too bad the overall current meaning narrowed to blunt seduction. One should try to see matter in relation to its actual movement rather than matter in relation to...fiction. It's an interesting thing.
Okay what else.
That long series of strikes that ended right before Christmas last year. Well, the labour unions have now concluded their talks with the employers, with mixed success (the unions were left divided at the end), so we'll see where that goes. To strike again or to not strike again.
Strange enough, after Charlie Hebdo, a lot has been happening, not (so much) in France but in Belgium. Not a day goes by without at least two bomb alarms and perhaps a suspicious bag hanging here and there. "The news" (sorry, no source here) says that it is just our imagination and that because we are more aware of terrorism, we are also paying more attention to anomalies, thus spotting bags in strange places and reporting more bomb alarms (whereas before people did not call police in case of bomb threats?), and really, nothing has changed very much in that respect.
Last-minute military/police/extra safety measures are installed or renewed, and still everyday new proposals pour in about what we could and should all do to be safe.
A shocking recent event about a local high school that reported two of its students to the police because their teachers had been roaming these students' FB pages and found that they expressed is-sympathies. Apparently, the school already had made an agreement for such cooperation with the police (or the other way around) before the event. What followed was a heated debate about the right to privacy here, but the mayor of the city rushed to side with the school and said that checking students' FB profiles is a healthy form of social control (http://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20150203_01508333) (sic).And the internet is being watched not only by teachers, of course.
Some other mayors think it's a good idea to keep the soldiers in the streets, especially for the jewish minority (other minorities are not happy because they are not getting protection, feeling unsafe as well). Some people say it's a budgetting thing (apparently soldiers are cheaper than police officers for these matters). And at first, the soldiers were proud to show the citizens how they work (normally they can't show us because they're stationed in a faraway country) but now that the comparison (http://nieuws.vtm.be/binnenland/126764-spanningen-tussen-agenten-en-militairen) between police officers was repeatedly made, the soldiers would like a raise.
The self-employed are seeing less customers where soldiers flank their shops (http://www.google.be/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCUQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hln.be%2Fregio%2Fnieuws-uit-antwerpen%2F-para-s-jagen-onze-klanten-weg-a2192070%2F&ei=88zTVPWGHoXOaPWJgLgD&usg=AFQjCNG8Ks82gfTFeFHCk1Q6aYk834wJvw&bvm=bv.85464276,d.d2s), so they have mixed feelings.
And the jobless should stop enjoying unlimited wellfare benefits. The statement that went along with this proposal probably did it. It was to the effect of: if they don't have it falling from the sky, they should be employed soon enough.
In addition, all wellfare bureaus are going (http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/957/Binnenland/article/detail/2186720/2015/01/19/Einde-van-een-tijdperk-OCMW-s-verdwijnen-in-2019.dhtml) to be closed by 2019. I think people will just be referred to the city council, since no mention was made of an alternative body. Or, how to efficiently help the poor. Of course, one must first acknowledge poverty, and that's becoming more and more of a difficult job for some politicians. Not that they put much effort to it anyway. And when they do, they get these really crazy ideas like: should we have separate daycare (segments) for children from poor backgrounds.
In full (http://www.demorgen.be/binnenland/-aparte-opvang-voor-kinderen-die-in-armoede-leven-is-gruwelijk-idee-a2194878/): children from working families get priority in subsidised daycare, other solutions can be found for children from parents who are not contributing to the economy. (Oh, boy, the full version sounds even more awful).
Yes, it's all going very fast now.
The country has also received a letter from is/was, saying they're on their way. I wonder what we should do with that message? Someone asked me this week, which bus are they taking? That's the spirit. Why cry, if you can laugh. Or dance, for that matter:
The Slide Area, one of my favorites from Ry Cooder:
eCapM_J0I_Y
I view it as a stage, like pausing at the cliff, before one jumps. Checking the wind, trying to build up nerve, and so on. The nature of words, in extremis, in continuance, in complexity and finality... curl back on themselves.... and ultimately can and will be found to be the unwanted anchor - not the freedom itself.
Interesting…I (mostly) see it as place where people rejected and damaged by this one this congregate and try to say things that they don’t think they can say here. A lot of them seem to see it as a completely independent place where they can “move on” from any forum drama.
I see it as a bunch of souls who belong here, who need to heal—and bring their healing and lessons back, and help Avalon grow.
I dunno, I can see that, all views are valid views, in the case of the individual's given stage or point. potentials in 'issue' is when it becomes motivated or unconscious inflection upon others. since we are generally blind or unconscious in that area, a blind spot, for the most part, that is a place where the motion or action can be initiated. 'The slide area' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCapM_J0I_Y), if you will. Where we bounce around... and that which manipulates can also operate. Which is why the dragon was also flitting about in the 'dream'.
Generally (largely a separate post): went and looked at some astrology (personal, as well). No wonder my head is giving me grief. Holy crapola. Some astrologers would look at that...and try and figure out how a person could be left standing, or even walk down the street...in that kind of energetic wind. If that ain't the definition of 'astrological cluster****', I don't know what is.
Does the concept of "objectivity" negate empathy? (ie-promote psychopathy)
Carmody
6th February 2015, 20:55
Objectivity is contrived around the given human or individual limit to understand. Essentially in smaller subsets of logic systems, objectivity is functional.
in the most explicit and complex systems, objectivity is not functional, in the mundane or simple sense.
Ie, the corollary, is that there is no single or simple truth, in anything of this place, as addressed with respect to and in the whole.
At the limits of the given individual's understanding, we find that the basis of thought-being (the I inside) is filtered through the body and most specifically the hindbrain and , even more specifically, the emotions.
Thus, on difficult topics and difficult data, objectivity, in many situations, does not exist, or objectivity is individual in nature and type. Individual to the given being.
On simple subjects, like, "is that a rock or not, over there, in the grass", Objectivity functions well, as stressing of the being in-situ, is not of a high level.
But if it is..at the other end of the spectrum... 'hey, is that a reptilian over there, eating the unborn child out of a 9 month pregnant girl, while she screams... and both are circled by robed observers who are chanting?'
Objectivity will be out the window in the latter case, as the stressing is just a bit different than the first case.
point being, as the circumstance and the data in the given situation move to being 'stressful' then the objectivity is filtered and colored by the stressing as objectivity is a human concept, not a reality or finality in complex 3d temporal based systems of quantum dimensional integration, as we may have here.
It comes down to that reality thing. The only fact we know, is that there are no facts. at the base of it all, all physics of any kind, in this day, to this day, is all based on observation and attached suppositional logic, with no real and actual proofs.
We exist on a load line of points joined into a line, with the ends of the line fading into darkness in the quantum smallest end, and into the macro on the other end. Like a rope of logic, hanging in space/darkness, we can walk along it's imagined lengths..but that's it.
So, when we average things out, we get potentials or percentages, statistics, norms, and so on, no proofs beyond that. No 'facts'. Facts are the animal or the fearful monkey in the human, looking for safety, a surety that does not exist.
Just like the universe, the ultimate is a catch-22, between observer and observed and the two are inseparable.
Essentially...paradox is at the base of it all.
Essentially...paradox is at the base of it all.
What we are left with, is that everything is subjective, just as the Buddhists, ancient texts and those who manipulate, etc, have all found out and use to their advantage. Think of all of the things that the intrepid explorer has found out: that in the end, will and intelligence, etc, in this place, is the root of it all. Which is a purely subjective aspect of reality formation and reality manipulation.
The best that objectivity can be, is a subset of that, a child of it, with self defining ends, sitting on an empty floor in a cardboard box, with images drawn on it's inside walls.
Objectivity is a centerpiece of the zippered shut past, while subjectivity is the nature of the future.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objectivity_%28philosophy%29
Just remembered one of my favorite philosophy puns! (that I made up): Kant can't cant.
getting back to the subject, of Objectivity. Objectivity, carried to it's scientific maximum, is a permanence in order and permanence in order is dogmatism, which is a system of predictive and motioned/carried forward 'order' for humanity, which is like being a cow in a field of cows that is being vampirised by parasites. Parasites who can move as they are not trapped in the foolishness of permanence of the idea of eternal objectivity. Objectivity in it's worst form and application (scientific dogma in the halls of science) is just another form of death.
As i was told, "everything exist Flash, everything we can ever imagine exist, we are creating it" - I was asking about reptilians. Can you imagine now, that in a "poof" of thought, psychopaths and reptilians disappear, as if they never existed, not a trace, no more thought on it.
And subjectively replaces by the thought creation of the futur, we put what we want in it.
I will love, cooperation and intelligence for humanity and the planet earth, very subjectively, desired/willed with strong emotions.
While about fifty pigeon gathered into a mass, one little guy sat on my head and waited for me to grab the jar out of my pouch and spread out brunch. That’s long in pigeon time.
People greeted me before I greeted them. A transportation driver stopped to see if I needed a ride. Another asked if I was the one that he saw feeding the pigeons. To my reply, he said, “Beautiful”.
Lately, I have been so focused on what bad thing is going to happen next! I worry about everything. More so as I get older! Grumpy Old Man! he he! lol! I enjoyed Paula's (Running Deer's) post! Being Happy about the little things in life! ie. a kind word from a stranger, feeding the birds. Today, I'm Happy because my daughters car only cost $20 to get fixed, I was able to jump her car to get it to the garage, my daughter got her insurance straightened out, and I made the bed! lol!
Is it your daughter with a dolphin? It looks like the dolphin Kiwi, a small spotted dolphin in Fort Walton Beach. Is it?
Here and now, I am starting pepper and tomato seeds. I hope this years setup is more effective than the last. Mini greenhouses with heat mats and grow lights should do the trick. I also am reorganizing the seed collection and taking some out to share with milneman, who was recently banned, and life goes on....
Great! We planted a bed covered in chicken compost with bell peppers, bok choy, carrots, turnips, chamomile,and sage. Happy to be planting again. Good luck with yours, PL!
Dolphins were cool in the nineties.
You can't possibly mean they're uncool nowadays. :biggrin1:
Dolphins are cool. Whenever. Always.
I am here now and I am happening. I happen to be typing on this thread now. <3
Reminded me of the episode where someone took some kind of drug at a party, then had to sit down and write a note, 'cause s/he had found the "answer to everything" and didn't want to lose it. Upon waking up next day, s/he remembered and read the note.
"I'm sitting here, writing". That was it.
I agree.
Not sure what happened. In the nineties there was dolphin everywhere: children's movies, toys, keychains and in the zoo (one of our zoos permanently replaced them with seals).
Even the travel accounts have changed in that respect. I used to hear more people talk about - especially if they went to the US - how they swam with dolphins.
Today with Ian Wright
Thanks kanishk. Cool technique. Your photos don’t show up for me. If that’s the case for others, I took the liberty to add an article I found: "Ian Wright's Colourful Life" (http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog/2011/september/ian-wrights-colourful-life)
Illustrator and artist Ian Wright has unveiled a series of new commissioned works from his role as artistic ambassador for Keaykolour paper, all of which can be seen at Tent London
The three new works form the basis of Colourful Life, a campaign from design studio Blast to relaunch the brand and its 29 paper colours.
Wow nice I've recently been to International Art festival Delhi in India. There I also saw the similar art by an Indian women. She use different colored and patterned rolled paper with different lengths and arranged them in such way to make a painting. I currently dont have any of its pic but below are some others pics of other art in that festival.
Where's araucaria? I enjoyed reading about Robespierre's antics, after being introduced to him. What a loopy one he was. But .....it was a loopy time.
And we may see it yet again, in our own way..
Where have I been? Pausing in mid-post, waiting for this prompt to loop back to this loopiness then and now. Thanks Carmody. Any perceived delay is evidence of the thought process in action over time; I am not regurgitating predigested material, I am working it out as I go along, which can take quite some time – when the here and now is the here and not just yet. There are inner resistances to be overcome as well.
The trouble with leftists is that they don’t know when to stop; they are on a mission and everyone appears to be to their right, and so in the wrong. Putting a guillotine in their hands is like putting a leg of ham on a meat slicer: they will slice away until nothing is left. Why this should be, why any action for the greater common good should be so easy to smash into pieces, is what we need to sort out. Why do revolutions invariably backfire, and what can we do differently this time to break the loop? Clearly, to wield authority without slipping into authoritarianism, chopping off heads is not an effective tool. (And that has to include dealing with the psychopaths of today.) To put it very simply, the problem is idealism: if you impose an ideal, you will find no one lives up to it and you end up killing everyone. You have to accept real people as they are, and take it from there. This is not to say you don’t have an ideal; it is just that the metaphysical ideal has to be morphed into a physical ideal, building on what you have.
So when dualistic thinking is applied to the refutation of its alleged working in others, that will doubtless be because the writer is incapable of recognizably nondualistic thinking even when the label on the can tells him that is what it is. He can then apply all the logic he likes, but as his premises are plain wrong, he cannot go anywhere with them. So what is the way out of this duality?
Well, part of the problem, it might be stated... is that observation can 'go there' but the reflected recognition of it, for the larger part, cannot. The vehicle fails and we end in the circular argument as a reductionist and steadily reducing tailing. It winds down, as the vehicle (reality in 3d timespace) exists so. Philosophy, by the nature of the attempt at reach (attempts at encompassing greater complexities), enters a form of degenerative entropy --things that exist in 'time', reality, and the greater systems the encompass the attempt itself. Ie, the reach (attempt) and the reality are in convergence.
Just like my reply..it begins at the end of yesterday and ends at the nothingness, the zero point of tomorrow, but expressed today, as a 'point'. The now.
Since we have but the now, and all points of yesterday, today, and tomorrow are connected to such, then presence is the final result, and all else begins and ends.
What we are left with, if the attempt at wordsmithing nears the absolute, is likened to a cat clawing at the slippery sides of an enameled bathtub, in utter futility and ineffectiveness.
To describe, in nearness, infinity of now, in the expressions of lower components of that now, ie time, past/future..which are likened to memory..is to attempt in futility. The convergence into infinity of wordsmithing will move into appearing as gobbledegook to the person who is reading it.
Reading it is anchored in the realm, and is a subset, not of the whole. So the step down of wordsmithing which is near to infinity (from the inner infinity) will necessarily, de-facto, via it's point in existence, most definitely appear as madness to the reader (and even to the writer).
One of the tell-tale signs of approaching infinity in the avatar, is the moments of seeming madness of the avatar, as it is indeed a subset, not a whole, in the idea of it's presence and communications in the flavor of those subsets.
In the end (if one may call it that), wordsmithing, like voice, like sharing, like physicality, all must move aside and the individual (as we may call it) must make the choice to move into the final components, themselves. The internal madness of self in those times is a complex enough system to bear, and the external application via outer/other, only serves to make it magnitudes worse.
The final understanding is that the writer comes to find that no amount of externally applied systems can or will suffice, but do indeed endanger, complexify for no reason beyond introduction of the issue, and create naught more than pause (when at the wordsmithing limits)..... and then one in such a situation says 'oh' to themselves... and metaphorically, takes the pen and punches it through their own 'I', and begins the deeper process of self unity and infinite connection.
Well, this is all very true, but before we get to the ineffability of infinity, we still have a sizeable chunk of finity to wade through most of the time. The advancement of the process of self unity is dependent to some extent on collective progress; trail-blazers are of no use if they get too far ahead of the main party. If they do, the ‘internal madness of self’ becomes literally the madness of living in a world of one’s own, and the breakdown of communication marks not so much the limits of wordsmithing as the autism of going it alone. There is a lot more mileage to be got out of language communication, but we need to realize that the breakdown comes not from the amount of conflicting information being bandied about as the filtering and rejection of some of that information instead of taking it all into account to build some bigger picture. If a man in the bows of a ship says he is sinking and another in the stern is being projected skywards, the apparent contradiction is easily explainable in terms of rough seas, and their solidarity is what ensures a possible return to an even keel. The fact that some are reaching stratospheric heights may be simply the countereffect of others plunging into the depths. This is an open-ended analogy, for how we steady the boat and/or calm the waters remains to be seen; but it will likely involve spreading the centre of gravity. This cannot happen if everything above a given line is silenced, which is what we are witnessing now.
Here’s a practical experiment: take a patch of colour from maybe a reproduction of a painting, then zoom in until you can see the individual pixels: you will be surprised at the quantity and variety of extraneous material that goes into producing the overall unaided visible effect. For example, the deepest black may be printed with no black ink at all. In which case, if black was something you wanted to remove, where would you start? Answer, nowhere: there is no black to be removed.
What this means in terms of this discussion is that what is needed most of all is better communications at the broadest level. Even a very slight improvement in the default position will lead to a vast improvement in the quality of life on this planet. Just for the moment, this involves the modest aim of pointing out how Bertrand Russell’s supposedly reasonable, logical stance is actually bigoted and intolerant, and by that token, how if the cap fits we all need to wear it.
Russell’s view I would describe as metaphilosophy: he is philosophizing about other people’s philosophies. This transcendent position, whether above or outside, inevitably clashes with the method of the likes of Bergson, which is fundamentally immanent: he is studying reality from the inside, as a part of that reality, and therefore that reality is having a feedback effect on him too. We also find the transcendent position in science: when we say the observer is crucial, we tend to overlook the really crucial factor of position. In the two-slit experiment, the observer position is transcendent, i.e. outside, since the particles leave a trace on the recording device only after passing through the slit(s). I reported here on what happens when the observer is immanent, i.e. as one with the actual slit(s): http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?78516-A-valid-theoretical-yet-scientific-explanation-of-how-metaphysics-may-work&p=917851&viewfull=1#post917851 Similarly, when Pauli describes nuclear physics as slipping into metaphysics by forcing this issue of the observer in matters unobservable, he is talking about the same thing. Hence the scientific mind of Bertrand Russell has been straying into metaphysics, with equally disastrous results. Certainly, at some stage something went very loopy in the mind of someone who had actually been to jail for pacifism for him to be writing:
“I do not pretend that birth control is the only way in which population can be kept from increasing... War... has hitherto been disappointing in this respect, but perhaps bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could be spread throughout the world once in every generation survivors could procreate freely without making the world too full... The state of affairs might be somewhat unpleasant, but what of that? Really high-minded people are indifferent to happiness, especially other people's... There are three ways of securing a society that shall be stable as regards population. The first is that of birth control, the second that of infanticide or really destructive wars, and the third that of general misery except for a powerful minority...”
- Bertrand Russell, THE IMPACT OF SCIENCE ON SOCIETY 1953 http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?31035-Amazement-As-Speed-Of-Light-Is-Broken-Was-Einstein-Wrong&p=316433&viewfull=1#post316433 (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?31035-Amazement-As-Speed-Of-Light-Is-Broken-Was-Einstein-Wrong&p=316433&viewfull=1#post316433)
If you want to see that kinkiness is terms of subjectivity/objectivity, I would have to say that it means that it is observer-based science forgetting that it is by definition totally… subjective. Objectivity is the transcendent ideal detected outside of a supposedly closed system. It is the wet patch under a leaky bucket. If you need water, you need to get out of the system before it really does close over an empty bucket. All this talk of becoming gods or of being food for gods is just viewing this situation from two opposite angles. But there is another angle, which is to see the closed system as just a kink in the open system – like a bucket at the bottom of a river, the ideas of water getting in or leaking out become meaningless because there is water everywhere.
Any talk of unity means that we understand by ‘universe’ all that is, and hence to speak of multiple universes is gibberish. The universe remains all that is, and what we used to call our universe is one of many subuniverses, a local unit just as the Milky Way turned out to be a local unit of the vaster cosmos. More specifically, speaking of multiple universes is transcendent scientific gibberish.Transcendent scientific gibberish ties in with religion, which makes a god of transcendence, which is the principle behind otherness. Since by definition otherness is a figment of the imagination – nothing exists beyond all that is: everything that is is immanent – then what we call evil or Satan is simply the immanent forms taken by this imaginary (metaphysical) transcendence. This is the basis of spiritual and temporal power: just as the pope is the vicar of a transcendent Christ, so a monarch acts vicariously for God (the divine right of kings). Take this, if you will, as a careful gloss on the name Mohammed (as opposed to a caricature).
The dividing line is then between metaphysical political systems of transcendence and physical political systems (notably democracy) where government is immanent to the physical entities that make up a community. ‘We the People’, the ‘Republic’ or the ‘Nation’ are such physical entities. Where things go pear-shaped is when the physical entity is engaged by a metaphysical entity, such as ‘Revolution’, be it the French Revolution or its sister the American Revolution. The latter of course went pear-shaped when the physical entity, the nation of natural persons, was hijacked by a metaphysical entity, the conglomerate of corporate entities assuming the status of natural persons. It is my contention that the French Revolution has largely withstood the test of time.
Hence within the ‘all is’ we find the ‘allos’ (other), which when it performs work (ergos) produces allergy, another name for intolerance. The problem with the intolerance of intolerance as shown by some cartoonists is that this form of tolerance is readily mistaken for intolerance. In other situations we say don’t scratch an itch, or don’t feed the trolls. It is perhaps inadvisable for that reason, but nonetheless acceptable since nothing but tolerant forms of tolerance are readily twisted into acceptance, which is what trolling is all about. True intolerance as the intolerance of tolerance is confrontational. Understandably then, confrontations do occasionally take place, and unsurprisingly often over pictures, which as Cabu once explained, are precisely not worth a thousand words. But we need to understand exactly what is going on.
What we have is people allergic to intolerance who are not revolutionaries with guillotines but revolutionaries with pens, which makes them basically relatively harmless anarchists. They have pinpointed a major issue: revolution kills ideas (of transcendence), but guillotines kill flesh-and-blood people, including revolutionaries – and so do lethal weapons in the hands of others. The paradox of the old situation was that physically lethal weapons were used to enforce metaphysical ideas. The paradox of the new situation is that we are seeing exactly the opposite: a modern version of Don Quixote tilting at windmills, namely attacking an ideology, or rather the absence thereof, with assault rifles. What I mean by the absence of an ideology is adherence to a creative process whereby a metaphysical idea gradually becomes embodied in 3D reality. A cartoon is an intermediate entity; it is metaphysical in that it conveys a notion of seeming transcendence (this is called ‘thinking outside the box’), but it is already in the physical as an image that real people can identify with and convert into the highly physical intermediate state of a peaceful mass demonstration, ultimately leading to the highly physical terminal state of social harmony.
When those who, rejecting ideology, have no axe to grind in the physical sphere, are caught in a battle, then we may be sure that their aggressors are not what they seem. While the word ‘Terror’, the practice itself is rather older, dating back at least to the sect of the Assassins in the twelfth century. The Assassins by Bernard Lewis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Assassins:_A_Radical_Sect_in_Islam debunks the story brought back by Marco Polo of the Assassins being killers motivated by promises of paradise after a haschich-induced experience of same. The author cites an influential study by Joseph von Hammer first published in 1818, in the aftermath of the French Revolution:
The beginning of the nineteenth century saw a new burst of interest in the Assassins. The French Revolution and its aftermath had revived public interest in conspiracy and murder (…) Hammer’s history, though very much a tract for the times – a warning against ‘the pernicious influence of secret societies… and… the dreadful prostitution of religion to the horrors of unbridled ambition’. For him, the Assassins were a
“union of impostors and dupes which, under the mask of a more austere creed and severer morals, undermined all religion and morality; that order of murderers, beneath whose daggers the lords of nations fell; all powerful, because, for the space of three centuries, they were universally dreaded, until the den of ruffians fell with the khaliphate, to whom, as the centre of spiritual and temporal power, it had at the outset sworn destruction, and by whose ruins it was itself overwhelmed.”
In case any of his readers miss the point, Hammer compares the Assassins with the Templars, the Jesuits, the Illuminati, the Freemasons, and the regicides of the French National Convention.
“As in the west, revolutionary societies arose from the bosom of the Freemasons, so in the east, did the Assassins spring from the Ismailites… The insanity of the enlighteners, who thought that by mere preaching, they could emancipate nations from the protecting care of princes, and the leading-strings of practical religion, has shown itself in the most terrible manner by the effects of the French Revolution, as it did in Asia, in the reign of Hassan II.” (chapter 1)
What we have here is a counter-revolutionary (reactionary) conspiracy theorist pining for a restoration of the powers that were. Since nowadays conspiracy theory is generally seen as being radically opposed to the powers that be, either this is a paradox, or it is a mistake. In France it is generally identified with the anti-republican far right and Le Pen’s National Front. No wonder things have still not come to a head: the alternative media still haven’t worked out exactly what they are fighting for and what they are fighting against. Even on a forum like Avalon, we have members trying to further their cause by deploring how someone like Hitler has been misrepresented…. One thing we should know however is that the only way is forward, if only because nothing has ever yet been tried that actually works.
Hence it is only possible to be truly revolutionary by acknowledging the less than positive effects of previous revolutions. With the French Revolution, apart from the Terror, it led on the one hand, when the republican ham was completely sliced, to the complete opposite, the dictator Napoleon, and on the other, to the international dissemination of republican values eventually tipping over into war and imperialism. Just to make sure, the same jigsaw pieces were later rearranged into another picture in Russia, with the failure of socialism in a single country, leading to buffer states eventually forming the Soviet empire under Stalinist rule. Nonetheless, another heir to the French Revolution is the strong modern French attachment to the Republic: the core values of the Revolution are now mainstream, although under attack from the far right within, and from ‘Islamists’ within and without. Hence France is a target, and a huge target capable of withstanding such an attack.
The need to reach out is presented as (turns out to be) expansionism through a clever sleight of hand. Any attempt to revert to normal peaceful human coexistence, when placed in the context of the world at large, is seen in the negative light of a breakaway society. In the terms I used above, a revolutionary society reaches out naturally as part of all that is: a universal declaration of human rights is a natural proclamation for it to make. And indeed, the core values of the Revolution as embodied by the United Nations are now international mainstream. But when such a society refutes the idea of transcendence like this, it is itself turned into a transcendent evil: it is demonized or seen as a contagion to be quarantined. So where it looks for friends it is made to find enemies. Except that it is now already too big to fail. Mainstream is actually on the whole pretty good; it is part of the demonization carried out by the reactionary wing of conspiracy theory I am talking about to have us think that mainstream is bad, in other words that the tiny minority are actually winning. Of course they are not, because they are merely presenting a distorted mirror image of the above situation.
Since the Assassins in the above sense are a non-historical fiction, who were they really? The answer should help us understand how presentday Islamist terrorism is no more than a fly in the ointment, a minor inconvenience – and likewise, the breakaway civilization that is feeding off it is programmed to fail. According to Bernard Lewis, they were the followers of a sect led by Hasan-i Sabbah (died 1124) against the entrenched orthodoxy of Sunni Islam: the first terrorist organization.
Others before him had vented their frustration in unplanned violence, in hopeless insurrection, or in sullen passivity. Hasan found a new way, by which a small force, disciplined and devoted, could strike effectively against an overwhelmingly superior enemy. ‘Terrorism’ says a modern authority, ‘is carried on by a narrowly limited organization and is inspired by a sustained program of large-scale objectives in the name of which terror is practised.’ This was the method that Hasan chose – the method, it may well be, that he invented. (chapter 6)
Their fanatical zeal was therefore originally directed almost wholly towards ongoing Muslim infighting over the heritage of Mohammed. Since, as all suicide fighters, they were fighting a losing battle, they were always vulnerable to getting involved in situations beyond their understanding, or even accused of things they did not do. The book emphasizes the final and total failure of this messianic movement, ‘at once popular and obscure, impelled by deep-rooted anxieties, and from time to time exploding in outbreaks of revolutionary violence’. It was published in 1967, but the following sounds familiar to anyone who has seen how the Al Qaeda crime syndicate is made to operate.
The leaders might make secret arrangements, but it is unlikely that they would inform the actual murderer of the details. What is much more probable is that the Assassin setting out on a mission was given what in modern parlance would be called a ‘cover story’, implicating the likeliest character on the scene. This would have the additional advantage of sowing mistrust and suspicion in the opposing camp. (…) In addition, we cannot be sure that every murder ascribed to or even claimed by the Assassins was in fact committed by them. Murder, for private or public reasons, was at least normally common, and the Assassins themselves must have provided ‘cover’ for a number of unideological assassinations in which they had no part. (chapter 6)
While one or two high profile crusaders were murdered by the Assassins, when later extended to western Europe, the word was surely being used generically to describe infiltrated paid (political) murderers, much as we might talk of a kamikaze attack with reference to the method rather than to the nationality of the perpetrator. But exoticism as an exacerbated form of otherness can only add to the fear that can be instilled, as Dan Brown understood well. We are now fully prepared and ready for the next step, which is to deploy the alien threat. Whether you see it in terms of loopy time or copycat scenarios, it is now plain for all to see that this is not reality as we know it, and the meat-slicers will soon be disabled once and for all.
I woke up to the sound of a plow. In the twenty-one years I’ve lived here they’ve never hired a service. That’s how much snow we’ve had.
The local school calendar for the last two school weeks alone i.e, ten days are: six no school, one early dismissal and a two hour delay. Many activities cancelled or postponed until April. What’s not listed are snow days for weekends.
We’ve gotten pounded in years past but what makes this year different is it’s non-stop nature.
I got chills on that, Eagle-Man! I miss being with the kids. But I could no longer live with the overt and covert manipulation that unfolded at warp speed for the last ten of the twenty-seven years.
It's been ten years since I left. I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like now. The system has implemented 'common core'. I expect there are/will be more behavior and emotional concerns. Frustrated staff. And continued conversation from the Board of Education on why students are leaving the system. Which translates to less government funding.
They’ve now hired a PR consultant rather than listen to those within the system. The turn around in staff and sometimes mid-way through the school year should be an indicator. The board minutes sight reasons for their resignation are jobs closer to home. Staff can’t be honest because it effects their chances for other teaching opportunities.
