is this thread still about what you experience right NOW ? LOL I am seeing discussions and I don't know anyone here. Um... but I'll do it anyway. I am listening to the wind howl through the hills and trees. I am looking at grey sky, listening to my dog snore. I smell a faint aroma of dehydrating veggies that I did a couple of days ago.

Compassion is the theme from the “Daily Wisdom,” by: Rachel Willis from Archangel Michael.
If ever you fear your light, turn aside from healing another soul, or pain yourself in order to delay the changes triggered by honoring your soul's truth, please share compassion with yourself.
At present on the planet, it is easier to choose to fear than to love. It is easier to choose pain over joy. It is easier to avoid shining than it is to illuminate all corners of the globe with your soul's magnificence.
The sad yet simple reason for this is that, as lightworkers, you are immensely intuitive. And thus you sense the judgement, resistance, envy, anger, resentment, bitterness, fear, regret and so on of the majority of souls on the planet. You can literally feel this on a soul level, and therefore sense intuitively - ahead of making positive changes, shining your brightest or healing with the power of your genius - that greater love brings you greater collective fear, that greater joy brings you greater collective pain, and that greater radiance brings you greater collective ego competition.
Of course, receiving more love, abundance, joy, light and all that comes from living your lightest life ALSO brings you more of this to celebrate with others who are themselves pure, yet these people are in the minority, and sometimes the journey can seem lonely, endless or too tiring to take.
Yet have faith, for the love of one brilliant soul can offset the fear of millions of fearful ones. The receipt of one beautifully ecstatic moment of joy can offset the pain of all those who share the planet. And the brightness of a soul can powerfully bring gifts that help others ascend to this radiant level.
YOU are a lightworker, born to illuminate the path for others to walk in your footsteps - safely, with comfort and reassurance that they can do it (even when they fear their heart will close at the unknown) and with a sure footing that only the strongest and most loving of souls can teach.
Keep stepping into the unknown, light will ALWAYS continue to greet you and embrace you with infinite rewards for this brave trailblazing that your soul agreed to undertake on behalf of ALL those who themselves couldn't shine.

Hi Polly. Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing. This thread is very liberal and people sometimes fail to stick to the original plan. There was so much sharing going on that people became acquainted with one another and started to dialogue.
I just let hem get on with it.
It has become a useful place to bring grievances, like illnesses and other emergencies, and everyone sends love and healing and it has worked rather well on numerous occasions. You are also welcome to share anything funny...we are all suckers for humor around here. Life can get tough so laughter seems to lighten the burden.

Talking about laughing: We kid around with each other all day long and have many gut-busting laugh marathons - it is really very helpful in maintaining a positive attitude, I must say. I like to joke around but I am scared of getting lost - I don't seem to make the same connections as others do. It has kept me from enjoying a good guffaw many times in the past. But not now, if I get lost I turn it into a joke by making some way-off-topic response - then everyone knows I'm lost again.
The guys at work are really special , although I believe it is me that has change perspectives more than it is the guys. But the dynamics are just right, the balance, that delicate thread that can bind a diverse group into a functioning whole. It is interesting to watch from this perspective, sometimes it washes over me like a tidal wave, and I get swept away in a private emotional moment. In those moments I send all my love into the energy of the group as recompense for the priviledge of being made aware of it.
Yesterday, for example, and even today, after experiencing one of those moments, I noticed I was getting a lot of work done, which isn't that surprising, but the whole crew was churning out the productivity too and we finished a lot more than we normally do. And this after loosing one of our crew to another job and the ensuing need to train the new guy. Positive energy creates positive outcomes in general.
That's about the extent of the news these days. Work, work, work.
We spend more time with our co-workers than we do with our own families and we should focus on making sure that it is quality time. It is a great opportunity to practice what we preach, and learn to be patient, fair and kind.

Here and now... I just saw an UFO. Orangy bright light passing through the night sky. This is not the first time they hang around here and I found myself being a bit blase about it all. Strange, the difference between someone like me who has seen these lights a number of times and the people I see on a daily basis who don't believe that there are stange happenings in the skies and have never seen high strangeness like a fast flying light. I don't know what the light is, it could be us from here and now or from the future or those who are not of this world. I am happy to be a bit more used to seeing lights in the sky and embrace that I don't know who they are, the first time I saw them I thought the Galactic Federation of Light was out there saving us and the earth :)

Whatever teams Disney have to come up with new material, they can never keep pace with the Coney Island area of our Village.

So after this last bit of comic relief (thanks, Meeradas) I went and waddled down some of the gloomier corridors of the Avalon forum castle, and after entering one of Jacko's rooms (thread about the faces of evil) discovered that some blogger is convinced that Barbara Bush is the daughter of Alisteir Creepy Crawley. Now that made my skin crawl.

Good Morning,
Ulli, I'm visualizing a big rain into the ocean :) I hope that helps!
Hi Polly :) I think this thread is for whatever you need. There have been times when I desperately need to stop and observe what is going on right now in my own physical world, and this Village provided a place where nothing more was expected of me. Then, there have been times when I really needed help, and I found that here, too. I have received love and encouragement exactly when I needed it, learned more than I could share in one post. I have come to know these Villagers as my friends, but this is such an accepting place that I also make new friends constantly :) And, what this Village is to me, most of all, is a source of good energy. Each person that visits leaves an imprint, and sometimes I stop in just to inhale the balance and the higher energies :)
It is dark outside, not yet sunrise. I hear the hum of the air conditioner in window, see the glow of the night lights, smell a fresh pot of coffee (which tastes heavenly). I hear Devin (the dog) clicking across the wood floor, probably thinking it is time for breakfast.
Much Love, beautiful Village,

And in other news...so much is changing and happening, it feels like all at once and not fast enough at the same time. Changes within are subtle, then unimaginably big. M has been in the city for most of the last month, coming out with hubby on the weekends. Em has been sleeping the days away, enjoying the cool of evening and night. These events are not uncommon for the times there is no school, summer especially, but it has never happened to such an extent. While I am worried about getting them back on a schedule as school starts back in a couple of weeks, and getting myself on a schedule which will be as difficult, I am thankful for so much silence and alone time of late. So much processing and learning new things...I see, in hindsight, how this all worked out just as it should. I'm even thinking that we will all (maybe) just slide effortlessly back into a schedule the same way we slid out.
One odd bi-product of M staying with hubby for awhile is that he has gotten to experience firsthand the energy it takes to be available for her. With me being a little further away, that is doubly true with Peanut. I thought it would be nice for him to be running M here and there, seeing what her needs are, being the back-up for Peanut in her varied "emergencies." But, all it is doing is making him ragged. So, he will be much relieved when M is out here full-time again. I hope that even with all the changes and growth I am experiencing that take so much of my efforts, I will be able to once again be the strength for my girls :/
Rambling musings...
Much Love,

Do you think you could make one small adjustment to the picture, WCBD?
The way you have the spiral placed now could concentrate the storm further.
It needs to be reversed if you want to reduce it's intensity.
Nothing wrong with a storm cloud, we just don't want anyone to lose their house and home,
less their lives.
Some homes here are very flimsy shacks, built on steep slopes, and vulnerable to landslides.
Personally I see no danger as I'm living in a strongly built house. But there are others out there who are not so lucky....
Anyway, not to worry....
it's already broken into lots of harmless fragments.
Good job.

Well, hell, if this isn't a fine how do you do!?!?
Lately, my energy level is either slug or Energizer bunny. This morning it was the latter. Laundry done, kitchen clean, floors clean, every ingredient for dinner is cut up and in the frig anxiously awaiting the throw together, strawberry shortcake ready & in the frig, fresh strawberries and bananas and grapes for hubby, Em's school clothes all put away, oh, and a no-bake cheesecake is chilling cheerfully.
Decided Little One gets new play dough today, which will keep him busy for about 2 hours. Which will leave Hubby & me with time on our hands, and texts have been going back and forth all morning about what activity or another we could engage in for a couple of hours. I think we settled on one.
I'm about to step into my bubble bath, and I get a text from Hubby. Well, I sorta rushed to see what it said...and it said:
"Two questions. Is Peanut dancing at a t*ttie bar? And is M smoking w**d again?"
WHAT?!
Wait a second. What?
**sigh**
Everything is just as it should be. Ya think? Cuz, I'm not feeling it right now.

Authorities are worried this Butane may escape .. causing a quote "catastrophic" outcome.
I have computed the amount of 1.5 Million barrels of Liquid Butane into "BTU's" British Thermal Units (a standard unit for measuring release of heat)... and by the rough calculations... if this salt dome were to ignite all at once.. it would = 100 HIROSHIMAS!
That would of course be coming from deep underground, from the foot / base of the new madrid seismic zone .. along the mississippi river valley.
IF this salt dome were to blow with the equivalent of 100 hiroshimas (underground).. then we would see something similar to the diabolical plan of Zorin, James Bond's nemesis villain in the movie " A View to a Kill".
Add in the already FILLED oil wells along the edge of the craton.. fracking injection wells pumped full of water.. and you REALLY DO get the "zorin plan"."

Hi Ed209,
I've lived long enough to have seen a correlation in my life between my earthquake dreams and house moves. A definite pattern there.
The furthest move was from England to Barbados and around that time my earthquake dreams were the most dramatic, end-of-the-world type of quakes. That was back in 1982. Earthquakes destroy homes, and so do moves. As well as divorces.
Dreams are symbolic.
Maybe you are coming up to a major shift in your life? New beginnings?

Evolving in leaps and bounds, I see. Excellent stuff.
I wish I could say the same about my own work, but
it's not my time. it depends a bit on the general economy because only when it's selling do I feel the need to make more.
I also love BC's new deck. I noticed how she built the roof,
semi-independent from the main house...
And structurally simpler to make. Very inviting, the whole place.
Quaint furniture.

Hi, I got a cold/flu or something. Its not a problem, but the headache is annoying. If any of you guys want to have a try at ameliorating those symptoms for me, please feel free to do so over the next 12 hours. Some ear and nose un-stuffing would be an added bonus!
Thanks :)

This is the good life. Two sets of grandparents and two little boys discovering the beach and becoming friends.
The kid's parents are so Internet dependent that they never go to the beach even though they live near it.
So it's up to us old timers. First the little one screamed because he was scared of the waves
and one hour later he screamed because he didn't want to leave the water -he loved it so much.
Found a YouTube to show where we are. Remembering Avalon and the Village...
Wishing you were here....postcard from the waters edge....

Managed to sign the contract to my new home just as Mercury moved forward this week. How's that for timing?! I seem to be in the flow. Life running smoothly. As a child, we moved between England and Wales so often (Saturn in the 4th) that I'd been to 13 different schools by age 12 and back then the school curriculum between the two countries were very different. Just looking at luggage can usually put me in a spin but I'm quite calm and focused at the moment. My new landlady is lovely. People had told me she was, then sitting in her conservatory waiting to sign I spotted a book on angels and we were off! Chatted for ages about all sorts of good esoteric stuff. What a great sign!
Have been holding Ria in my heart this past few days. Anchor sending positive thoughts your way.

Good Afternoon :)
It is hot. I am one to appreciate air flow tremendously, but when even the breeze is hot...it just wears me out quicker lol. Learned some lessons, I think. Not to say I won't have to keep learning these. First, roll with it. Things will be popping up all over the place that may or may not need my attention, but they do not have to put me in some sort of panic. Second, the girls are older now, and they are all making decisions every day. There are still teaching moments constantly, and I will do my best to use those. At this point, they are well on their own paths. Third, it is really, really difficult to stay focused on 3D stuff, even my family, when there is so much else happening. And if I forget to pay enough attention to 3D, the universe will startle me to my senses. (But it is so exciting, and there is so much there!)
Peanut is not dancing anywhere but for fun, and is fully clothed. M may or not be smoking. Heavens to mergatroid, if she is it isn't the end of the world. In the city, there are far more dangerous things, and I, for one, am glad she is not doing any of them. When she is out here, there is simply no way to get in trouble. Yet. School starts up, she will be here, and the school has offered her a fast track to graduation. She will have to work hard, but can graduate at the end of his year, one year early. And "Mama didn't raise no fools." She knows what she needs to do. The girl has had so many traumas in the last year, experiencing her first true mania, that at this point I'd rather she smoke than cut any more.
Everything is okay. It really is. And if it doesn't feel like it at the time, it will be.
Thinking of looking into Tai Chi...
Much Love,

Hey there villagers ...
Just got back from taking the family to Chicago. Long drive. My 2nd time there (not counting stop overs at the airport).
We did a couple tours ... one from a 2bl decker tour bus with no roof and the other a boat tour viewing the skyline from Lake Michigan. Wanted to take the boat tour that went throughout downtown on the river (sort of like Venice) but didn't have time.
Most of the photos were accidently deleted when my wife was trying to clear up space after running out of memory on the camera ... ooops ... so will show a few from the net.
The bus tour had a very eerie feel to it as the buildings were absolutely towering overhead and there were so many pedestrians of all sizes, shapes and colors.

Wow, Calz ... Chicago...major (painful) memories there. Hubby's daughter had been kidnapped by his former Iranian wife who then vanished in Chicago. We spent most of the nineties traveling from Costa Rica to the US to attend court hearings in one of those downtown skyscrapers....we never really recovered emotionally from the experience, nor financially, despite the courts ruling that he should have access to his daughter soon afterwards the mother took off again...and he hasn't seen or heard since.. Gave up the search in the end.
Meanwhile her attorney felt so sorry for my husband's ordeal that for years he sent him greetings cards.
On the brighter side, now he can enjoy my grandsons as if they were his own. They adore him.

Quite the sorted city history to be sure. Sorry to hear of your own memories.
It was almost amusing the tour guide seemed quite proud telling of the stories of some of the darker history (such as Al Capone laundered this or that to finance his empire etc from this or that building).
On the lighter side (hopefully there are still some images I can show) the kids had the "Blues Brothers" look going on with the hats and shades ... :haha:

Another memory trigger...a pleasant one this time. Left the office one day to go to the movies to see the Blues Brothers...early eighties I think...it was in the middle of the afternoon...unheard-of event for me during my tycoon years...workaholics don't go to the movies.
With your kids at that precious age where they can play roles and dress any part...that must be fun. My son did all that. Now he is a father himself...a bit too strict for my liking...who would have thought he'd turn out to be this way when he was running around in punk gear and hair died in three different shades..

It occurred to me that I ought to practice what I preach.
I spent some time meditating on why I got this cold. I don't get them generally and I had to go and have a chat with myself.
I don't know if you would be interested in my problems and this may be too long and TMI but you guy's did actually help me yesterday, it was quite amazing actually - I took nothing for my cold; but your kind healing intentions made a good difference and my headache was gone by the time I tried to get to sleep.
Backstory... On Friday night as I was packing the car ready to go off for the weekend, I was getting out the back (its a wagon) and my trousers got caught on the hitch and I fell out the back hard onto the concrete. My car is an off-roader and I have had the suspension slightly raised - it was a fair way down! Bruises, a little shaken and surprised. After about 10 mins got it all back together. It has been YEARS since anything like that happened. I don't mean to brag, but I have good balance and I hardly ever fall like that.
Next day got the cold.
Day after that asked for help
Now we are on today.
So what happened: (as told by a lecture my HS gave me in a meditative style Q&A)
1) I was already dealing with the cold that I had picked up from a co-worker during the week. No symptoms, body doing good job on it. The fall caused a chink in my defenses and my body was then able to express the cold/flu catalyst for my learning pleasure.
2) The fall was karmic. "I" asked for all this to happen because I needed reminding of a couple of things I have not been doing properly that needed me to be reminded. So duly told and I am writing it here to help affirm my intention to sort this out :)
a) Not getting enough sleep
b) Spending too much time on the internet and not enough on life
c) Not meditating enough
d) Trying to do everything by myself and not asking for help - I decided to start right away on that and asked for help on this forum - lol
3) At the same time, it happened that my body had some toxins that needed removal. The expectoration that happens with a cold is a good opportunity to get that done. It seems to have worked.
Anyway, I'm going to be spending a little less time online - get more sleep, be less distracted by the internet, and I am going to remember to ask for help more.
Bless you all in the light and in the love of the one infinite creator.

And so nice to have Eagle Spirit drop by, too :)
Major new happening this morning. I can open my wings, can you believe it? It feels like a dragging, swooshing kind of sensation, and I have to pull energy from way down deep to make it happen. I am also very, very hungry and a little tired. Wonder what I was doing during the night...

Taken from another thread, as the comment I wanted to make next, does not belong there:
All those things considered, I'm not dismissing the message of solar situations.
Deniability is a big thing in government circles.
There is more to human reality than a surface analysis can bring. Or... more than 'animal body parts of a complex duality being' doing the interpretation of the message.... can bring.
I'm largely up for anything that slaps humanity in the face, into some state of awareness of who and what they are. Different horses for different courses, and thus different messages for the 7 billion individuals who are incarnating on this planet.
If one has ever done any teaching, one of the fist things they learn in order to be effective for a group, is that the message cannot be repeated "ad nauseam" (repeat to point of nausea) in one way only, but that it must be transmitted ad nauseam in a million different ways, if necessary.
Considering the complexity of the message, it will need to be -and is being- repeated a million different ways in a million different places.
For example, even in the song 'Jesus built my Hotrod (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0dnE5hQ66M)'.
From the John Huston film 'Wise Blood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0dnE5hQ66M)', Brad Dourif is quoted, in the song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0dnE5hQ66M). And some other bits.
"I come a long way since I believed in anything."..... "I come from half way around the world...."
"Where you come from is gone. Where you thought you were going to weren't never there, and where you are... ain't no good unless you can get away from it!"
Basically be present in the here and now, for all else is.... impermanent. And in that moment, loose yourself (break the body's chain/hold of an anchor on the reality holding moment...and find it all.)
Whatever it takes to move humanity out of that lock of looking at the past ...forming itself based on physical directives... and relentlessly, ideologically, dogmatically... projecting that -into it's future.
It can be found everywhere, in the biggest things, in the smallest things. It is only a matter of perspective, which can cascade into understanding.
I mean, dang it, there ain't no barriers, no borders, no limits.. Even a metal head can 'get it'.
edit:
The below is the same thing as the song's lyrics and meaning. Whether one realizes such... from perspective found in the self.....is the deal.
"Oh, so this is what it is."
"Who indeed could dare enjoy that which is devoid of bliss? He only could dare it who is All-Blissful. Who can become weak? He only can who is All-Powerful. Who could enter Ignorance? Only He who is omniscient could enter it. Ignorance is the play of knowledge, concealing itself in itself. Weakness is the play of power, blisslessness the play of bliss, the concealment of itself in itself. ‘I the Self reveal Self by Self in Self’ - liberated by this knowledge one enjoys the play."
~ Sri Aurobindo
Part of the point is that one can find a single answer..but it will only really be useful for the given self, it is very unlikely that any translation could ever be universal. Widespread and powerfully adopted, yes, but ....universal? Not likely, not by a long shot.

The way I feel today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsmkLvDShnQ&feature=player_embedded#!
As for the retreat, I am in the second week of silence, although this week is less restrictive for silence, very few people remained.
Last week ended up with me realising how taken I am by everyday events. Last Saturday I was just starting to come down and have a bit of capacity for meditation.
I do feel much better though. Wholesome food, nice quiet people, one with oneself, even my shoulders are lower.
I realised full of stuff, after my spree of humour about the silent hunchback peo-ple and my spree of laughing.
One of these realisations is the balance between tension and void, creating reality (I mean personal and may be overall). Without the tension, I doubt reality would exist in 3D. The fine thread one has to walk in between tension and relaxation, fullness and emptiness, to become aware.
Another realisation is how much we are in our heads, I am full of head thoughts but also much more experienced meditation practitioners were beating me flat for the head stuff, I could not believe how caught up we are in the head in general.
The other realisation is that it is very difficult for many to apply heart energies (including me of course). To let the heart guide and use the head/brain as a tool for the practical application or the directed vision following the heart/love inner/outer projections.
The other thing was fears erasing trust, between human, in everyday life, and mostly fear of intimate hearted giving/receiving. I realised that I had very little trust in life to bring the necessary for my and my family everyday life and therefore, created a harsh reality of survival.
Still need a few weeks of silence. Still need digging - this never stops anyhow.
I had real bad back and shoulder pains accompanied by the whole nervous system reaction from head to toes. Very painful for a few days. I do not know if it was a soft bed, sitting too much for meditation on more or less good seating or the effect of meditation.
Now I feel better.
People were all sweet all around once they look at you and you look at them (head up from hunching) lol.
Overall, I did enjoy the experience and will keep doing it.
Forgot to tell: I read a whole book on Krishnamurti by Radha Rajagopal Sloss, the little girl he has help to raise from birth, who considered him as a father, as her own father (in fact he was living in a treesome relationship his whole life, a very different private life, but the little girl did not suffer from it). It was on the real, everyday Krishna. I was amazed at how all the idiosyncracies he had, the ego that was not under control and the lies he could make. He often did not apply what he was teaching.
I still like to read his teachings but, the lesson here was: I am the guru of myself and I live my own truth as much as I can. Probalby as he did, no more, no less.
The second thing is that master may have idiosyncracies but I think must have some coherence between the thinking, the heart, the lips and the behavior. Othewise I have a real trust problem.

I have ventured away from the Hear and Now and get the feeling from other threads that there is a certain amount of disappointment that nothing catastrophic, or life changing has happen. Be it EMP, ETs... the list is endless. Do we really need to be on the verge of something happening. That anticipation, the excitement, are we really wanting to say he/she was right? Impending doom is not where I want to focus my energies!
Back to the Hear and Now, a good place to be!
I for one am grateful that so far I can live my life in a somewhat peaceful existence. I choose to take one day at a time.

There have been moments, while reading some of the threads, that will strike me as funny, and I find myself laughing at the absurdity of it all...shaking my head at how we seem to have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves....somehow preferring to focus on tragedy and fear and doom.
Where is the joy, the laughter, that would bring things into balance?
Yes, there are many serious things going on in the world and within ourselves, but there is also happiness and joy and love and beauty as well.

fwiw, I agree too, guys :) Something is coming, and no one knows exactly what. What we do know is that it is good and right for all of us, a step forward. (imho) I ventured out to look at what the hullaballoo was all about, and I found the kind of energy that isn't good for me. Looks like we all land right back in the Here and Now. Maybe we (I) just needed another reminder to live now, be in the now, and in the now is forever. My light is beaming for this Village :)
Hi, 4evrneo :)
Flash, thanks for the update. My head is also too busy most of the time. :/
Today, I am filled with a peace like no other. I know we need to experience duality, and it is because of the chaos that I so fully enjoy this peace. But to tell the truth, I'd love to live in this peace all the time. It is to the core of me and right back out at everything around me. I am more alert than usual, more in the now, participatory. Can't quite describe it. Everything just seems...perfect...exactly as it is in this moment, moment after moment.
Sharing this peace will all of you :)
Love,

We took M to someone to talk to today. She has PTSD, but I already knew that. Having been through this process of healing, I know she is having a tough time of it. Will you all please keep her in your prayers and thoughts? I suspect that at her age, permission would be needed for anything further. I think the best thing that has ever happened for her is when her guides spoke to her that day, well, and our conversation about Free Will. I saw her as she absorbed that experience and took it to heart. Somehow, understanding free will empowered her again. Since then, she is making great strides to wellness and wholeness. She has made some decisions in the past few weeks that make my heart happy for her. Mistakes are still in the cards, lol, but not the same ones (I hope).
Years ago, it was simpler to be a parent. It became complicated when I started becoming more aware of spiritual matters. I know I can't take her pain away, it is for her. But as a mom, and as a sensitive soul, I wonder if I can absorb some of it. Growth for her means growth for me :)
Thank you, love you all...

lol, have been thinking of you since I read your post, just wanted to acknowledge you. I know how scary it can be and not being able to get away from the smoke. I went through 2 fire storms in San Diego -the last one all of the roads and highways were closed for a week no one could get in or out.

The other thing was fears erasing trust, between human, in everyday life, and mostly fear of intimate hearted giving/receiving. I realised that I had very little trust in life to bring the necessary for my and my family everyday life and therefore, created a harsh reality of survival.
Down to the bone there Flash yikes. Awesome. What if ... what if. I have to remind myself, to act as if I am transformed, filled with love and light, carry no wrongs or resentments, am delighted to see everyone. My day is transformed when I do. Yeah, that hunched over thing. Self examination. Semi-conscious awareness something is not right inside, can't find it. Which means it is time to meditate. Again. To get in the flow. Thank you for the reminder.
Still need a few weeks of silence. Still need digging - this never stops anyhow.
I still like to read his teachings but, the lesson here was: I am the guru of myself and I live my own truth as much as I can. Probably as he did, no more, no less.
I agree. It never stops anyhow. We are all doing it. And the more we turn inward, the faster we go.
The second thing is that master may have idiosyncracies but I think must have some coherence between the thinking, the heart, the lips and the behavior. Otherwise I have a real trust problem.
I adopted this as a standard some fifeen/twenty years ago, to gauge whether or not someone is safe to trust. It has made a huge difference in my life. I no longer assume I owe someone my energy "just because". And if someone I have found untrustworthy is stressing me (You know, the elephant trainer, so then elephant poop in the living room) then at some point I will disengage. Completely. No energy vampires in my life.
Life is too short. And sweet. :)

That would be a miracle. The wildlife and rangers and trees would be so grateful. It is a low priority fire, even though it is 30,000 acres, because it is not near any "civilization". Just two tiny areas on alert for evacuation orders.

Yes Sierra, Vampires and negative egotitiscal people, this is one of the check out I have to do here, what is my pattern that attracts situations with them. I had a very hard work related experience end of may, have been crying days in days out until I decided to check at what was the pattern throwing me in rejection situations.
This is not touched too much yet and I am staying here until I work it through.
I have to send you Sierra some of my daughter poems. She really liked pm exchanges with you. She is now a real teenager and has her first heart trobbing boyfriend this summer. He is quite sweet. I was worried but I will not stop love from being present in her life, even if she is just fifteen. She was articulate enough to tell him she was not ready for more than kisses and that is was the conditions to be around her, and he accepted. He seems protective as kind of young guy, I like him.

Dysphasic
I’m very curious
And that makes me furious
I often find the answer
But I rarely understand it
It sometimes feel like cancer
But I was born with it
So I try to take away this curiosity
And I try to stay empty
Cause all these words are useless
Because of this I sound brainless
But that’s far from being true
I don’t know what to do
I can’t do anything to prove them wrong
So I stay alone and I write another song
I sometimes feel like such a retard
Even writing is hard
I can’t write without a dictionary
I need it like a best buddy
But so far I’m strong... well almost...
What scares me the most...
Is that it might never heal
I guess this is how every dysphasic feels...

Yes,
Fire can create its' own weather and move very fast, it can flash over to another area, skip an area entirely and start up on another hill or it will create fire tornadoes.
Good to hear you are far away from the fire area.

Oh, Flash, this really touched me. I have heard these words, well so many of them, from my daughter and from other kids...it breaks my heart that young people feel they have to prove anything, be any different than they naturally are. Sometimes though, and I don't know if this is true of your daughter but it feels true, they have a greater capacity for concepts unseen than the "normal" kids do. Words are not needed when one lives in the heart. One day, young people will be treated as individuals, each one special exactly the way they are, and will be encouraged to find their own way....for they are all capable, more so than the adults who say they are not.

one of my fav places cannot be destroyed.
My body lives in the city,
But my essence dwells in the mountains.
The affairs of a puppet play
Are not to be taken too seriously.
When the polar mountain fits into a mustard seed,
All the words in the universe may as well be erased.
Favor and disgrace are meaningless --
What's the use of contending?
Drifting clouds do not obstruct the shining moonlight.
Let the ox and the horse be called,
To both I can respond --
But how could I let a speck of dust
Onto the city of mind?
My mind is like a jade jar of ice,
Never invaded by even a half a mote of dust.
Though the jade jar be obscured without,
I pay no mind at all --
On the terrace of immortals
I climb to the highest peak.

It feels kinda "wrong" to visit the Village just occasionally, read for a bit (often, attempting to 'catch-up' by starting a few pages back - old news - and finally realizing, yet again, that I'll never catch up), and then to simply blurt-out my present reality. It is the lack of interactivity that feels wrong, but I find it impossible to "do" and "be" in real-time and still have enough time to interact anywhere close to real-time in this thread. Sierra and Another Bob are ducking wildfires, Ulli is dodging 'canes, Belle is fighting banksters, Wackytweaky and 1inMany and Astrid riding big waves in an inner ocean, Flash is injecting silence into the cacophonous symphony, Anchor used his body to drop anchor, Paula dropping love bombs...
See, even a tiny recap of a snippet of a tidbit of the last page or two of Here and Now in the Village left out Carmody and Meeradas and Jeanette and Eaglespirit and Nora and Benevolentcrow and Calz and Lookbeyond and new-to-Avalon 4evrneo and AngelHero...
It really is overwhelming to even think of keeping up.
Ulli built a storehouse for money that we can freely dip into as we need. Allow me to create an ethereal hand-thrown stoneware crock, capped loosely with a big cork stopper, into which we can place love, compassion, healing, peace, harmony, and health.
There. It has been created. We have a shared storehouse for these energies.
I invite all of us to fill the vessel - as an ongoing action, whenever it feels right. (It can hold all we give. It is incapable of holding any negative energy of any sort.) I invite all of us to dip in and take from the vessel as needed and as desired.
Dennis
p.s. Selfishly, I hope that will assuage my feelings of inadequate interactivity in the village.
p.s.p.s. John/Anchor, I fell down my front steps about a week ago (nothing hurt badly, hit a lot of places simultaneously and dissipated the force.) In retrospect, I realize that was the precipitating event that altered a course of gut normalcy I had been experiencing for nearly a miraculous two weeks (ever since a sound-healing session.) Same-same? You speak ASL?
Weirdness. Ever since I learned ASL, I sign in my sleep. Correction, my hands move in my sleep. Then I become aware, as I wake up from the movement, my hands are using a piece of sheet, blanket, other hand to do what I was *doing* in my dream.
Drives me crazy. Yet it feels weirdly nice. The moment I realize my hands are in one dimension, and my waking awareness has moved to another ... eeks.

Dusty, dragging spears, trotting down the village quay, exhaling smoke, veering over across the road to peer into Dennis's pot. Ooh. Looking around furtively, then placing hands on pot, utters the word, "Expand.". The pot smiles and becomes pool sized, surrounded by Laurel, Bay, Birch, Pine, Rowan and Oak. The quay gently pushes the new Village attraction so that it sits back, allowing ley line sight down the Village. Gratefully dumping equipment on the ground, and slipping into the healing pool without a splash. Hair unweaves, eyes close, skin breathes, fingers relax. Sits back gratefully on the pot created bench. Takes a deep breath and lets go. McKnao and Ishtar leap down from the biggest Oak to the pot lip to sniff and lap. Trees rustle in surprised laughter. Water leaps in a spray of light.
Dennis strolling out of the Village pub doubletakes, and bursts out laughing. McKnao and Ishtar sit their tallest, eyes closing at Dennis in pleasure and thanks.

See if this triggers anything for you:
To me, it's more a confirmation of who you are, what you do, and the chosen path is by your own design.
[The pigs] breaking free from the herd mentality. They move forward to spread the word that there’s a whole different experience out here.
“Numerology and the Divine Triangle,” by: Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker - #3 Soul Number
You are very conscientious in regard to duty. You are well aware of the law of the Trinity, and know to help others. This could easily become your philosophy happiness and find it in making others happy. If a person feels depressed, a visit with you will bring them hope and courage. Expand your ideals by dedicating yourself to the expression of good cheer and optimism. Work to make your dreams come true, but not to the extreme of becoming impractical. Love is important to you - both in giving and receiving - but try to hold to reason in your loving expansiveness. You become happy and well-adjusted by making others happy.

Ok guys thanks everyone for your help. However it left me with the question "Why pigs?"
Why not dogs, cows, etc.?
So I googled the story of the Three Little Pigs and did some pondering.
Never mind that this version was done by Burger King...the older ones are a bit too long so I picked this one.
My interpretation is that the the three houses the piggies built represent preparation for a disastrous future.
The wolf represents TPTB, and their hand in manipulating weather and wars.
The third piggy builds a strong house that not only withstands the wolf's evil plots but in fact even manages to blast the wolf to bits.
Here is the link, enjoy the story.

Have missed your presence and your pics, Calz. Been keeping discouragement and frustration at bay by making time to laugh each day...real, true joy lifts the spirit and brings things into better perspective for me. Thanks for making me smile with the pics you gift us with. :)
My heart is with all in the Village...new and old.
Love you all.

Wow, Calzie...thanks so much for sharing...I can see you all were having a ball
And the kids will never forget the trip.
How frustrating about losing the images.
I see you managed to keep some, at least.
Same thing happened to me so many times
that now I no longer get upset when it happens.
And since I don't get upset anymore, it no longer happens.
Weird, that.

On the way to the airport, still dark outside, on a narrow country road we saw three pigs
coming towards us in the middle of the road.
Three pigs on the run, escaped from their pig pen.
Any of you want to help me decipher that omen?
The Food and Drug Administration said Monday that it is trying to track down as many as 386 piglets that might have been genetically engineered and wrongfully sold into the general food supply, including to Beach Clubs in the Carribean. The focus of the FDA investigation are pigs raised by researchers at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. They engineered the animals with two genes: One is a cow gene that increases milk production in the sow. The other, a synthetic gene, makes the milk easier for piglets to digest. The goal was to raise bigger pigs faster. There has been no evidence that either genetically altered plants or animals trigger human illness, but critics warn that potential side effects remain unknown.
Locally, When Homer got up from his bacon and eggs, there is simply no way he could have connected that strange feeling he now perceived in his intestines as a kind of digestive anomaly to some research lab filled with squealing frankenpigs clear across the country, but it would be on this day that circumstances happened to so conspire as to change the fundamental human DNA structure in ways that could not be understood for many generations.
Homer and Marge usually had sex after breakfast on Sunday while the kids ran squealing up and down the block outside on their nifty little motor scooters, and this Sunday was only different in the sense that, despite having used all the usual precautions, Marge was to become impregnated by Homer's squealing little sperm, and the child that would be born from this breakfast would himself reproduce twenty years later in a marriage with someone whose parents had shared a meal of genetically altered salmon just prior to their daughter's conception. The child that would result from that union would consequently casually mate with a stranger picked up at a U. S. Department of Agriculture Trade Show, who happened to be the product of parents who had themselves been test subjects for a research project back in college at the U of I, and been injected with a harmless trial Cold Prevention compound isolated from the rarest Amazonian Bromeliad. The anonymous female from that one-night stand would give birth to what initially appeared to be a normal healthy child, but when the little tot first was allowed to wander out near a Beach Club, nobody expected him to rush out into the tides and dive beneath the ocean waves, squealing in a kind of raspy delight strangely reminiscent of a piglet yearning for a sow's teat.
After a thorough search, hope was given up for finding the youngster, and of course nobody could have guessed at the time that this child would emerge from the ocean two decades later, ready for a good breakfast of bacon and eggs, and then on to world conquest by drowning the earth with water.
He came to be called Neptune, and small vague fragments of the story which unfolded were to be romanticized thousands of millennia later by an island tribe called Greeks, and some odd variation even turned up in flood stories of the desert Hebrews, and in many other ancient myths that even today trigger some familiar memory within the DNA of those who would hog up all the water.

Hiya Ulli and Fellow V'gers!
I was trying to distract myself from Dentality for a moment, so I resorted to the old stand-by: imagination. This morning, Mazie had 3 teeth extracted, and was also told that she needed 3 bridges, each costing $3K. When I read about the 3 pigs, it all suddenly fell into place. Naturally, this also reminds me of something not at all related.
It seems that a journalist assigned to the Jerusalem bureau has an apartment overlooking the Western Wall. Every day when she looks out, she sees an old bearded Jewish man praying vigorously. Certain he would be a good interview subject, the journalist goes down to the Wall, and introduces herself to the old man.
She asks, "You come every day to the Wall. Sir, how long have you done that and what are you praying for?"
The old man replies, "I have come here to pray every day for 25 years. In the morning I pray for world peace and for the brotherhood of man. I go home have a cup of tea, and I come back and pray for the eradication of illness and disease from the earth, safety from geomagnetic pole reversals, the end of the evil Illuminati, the calming of tectonic plates, the vanquishment of all pesky archons, and very, very important, I pray for peace and understanding between Muslims and Jews."
The journalist is impressed. "How does it make you feel to come here every day for 25 years and pray for these wonderful things?" she asks.
The old man replies, calmly, "Like I'm talking to a wall."

And only 1/2 hour ago I saw this article about Americans being lured to Costa Rica
for more inexpensive dental treatments,
and ending up with quack dentists.
But there are good ones,
and they charge only 1/4 of what it would cost in the US.

Well, the alternative is not humorous, so we may as well be able to laugh. Not only that, but as the saying goes, "Laughter is the best medicine."
And only 1/2 hour ago I saw this article about Americans being lured to Costa Rica . . .
Back before Mazie & I found each other, I was seriously contemplating moving to Costa Rica. The real estate looked like a good value, the political climate was amenable, apparently they used US dollars, and there was a growing American community (besides the obvious geological beauty). Our lives went in a diferent direction, however, and now we're sitting here in the mountains, currently getting smoked in. The choking/stinging haze from the fire mentioned previously clears a bit in the afternoon, then rolls back in overnight, and renders the morning unfit for my usual outdoor meditation rituals and gardening pursuits. The positive side to being indoor-bound is that I get to do a bit more cleaning around the hacienda, and cleanliness is next to godliness, so it all works out perfectly! :-)

Fire fighter, Anne Veseth Died Battling the Idaho Fire
CLE ELUM, Wash. — A fast-moving wildfire in central Washington has burned at least 60 homes and forced hundreds of people to flee – one of several blazes scorching the West on Tuesday, threatening communities, sending up thick plumes of smoke and disrupting activity in national parks.
Fire commanders estimate the Washington blaze has burned at least 26,000 acres – about 40 square miles – since it started Monday afternoon east of the small town of Cle Elum.
No injuries have been reported, but more than 400 people have been evacuated, said Department of Natural Resources Fire Incident Commander Rex Reed. The fire crept within six miles of Ellensburg, about 75 miles east of Seattle.
The blaze, which began at a bridge construction site, is not contained. And authorities worried about wind and heat, saying the fire danger was extreme.
"We've had a long prolonged dry period – three weeks with no precipitation at all," Reed said.
In Idaho, a firefighter was killed by a falling tree Sunday. Anne Veseth, a 20-year-old who was in her second season as a firefighter, died as she worked a fire near Orofino, the U.S. Forest Service said. Her older brother also is a wild-land firefighter in Idaho, where 12 blazes are burning.
A crew in central Washington state barely outran flames Monday at the wind-driven fire in Kittitas County. The firefighters managed to drive to safety as they got ahead of the Taylor Bridge fire, said Richelle Risdon, a county fire spokeswoman.
Meanwhile, near Cle Elum, Wash., some property at a chimpanzee sanctuary burned. The seven chimps at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest are fine, but they seemed bewildered by the smoke and the changes in their routine brought by the blaze that burned within a couple hundred feet of their building, a spokeswoman said.
In Utah, a lightning-sparked fire consumed about 34 square miles, threatened a herd of wild horses and shut down the historic Pony Express Road in the state's western desert.
In Northern California, crews made progress against an aggressive blaze in Lake County that grew to more than 9 square miles and destroyed three buildings. Officials lifted evacuation orders for the residents of nearly 500 homes late Monday, said Daniel Berlant, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
"The fire is still actively burning, but burning in a remote area," Berlant said. "It's burning in brush that's tinder dry and hasn't seen a fire in decades."
A separate wildfire to the north was threatening about 600 homes, prompting some evacuation orders in the Seneca and Rush Creek communities in Plumas National Forest. The fire burned about 55 square miles, officials said.
Fires across California have affected some national parks, including Lassen Volcanic National Park and Joshua Tree National Park.
A handful of other fires in hot and dry Southern California were sparked by lightning. Four in northeastern San Diego County covered more than 2,300 acres, threatening to leave several communities without power.

They are very heavily impregnated by and with Teflon, which is costly and generally not available to the public, at any price, IIRC and IME. While Teflon can melt at above approx 550F or so, it cannot and does not burn. However, the smoke from the smouldering is very toxic.

The ability to 'relax' into the NOW has improved a lot in the last few days.
It's almost like I'm a child again.
Or the impressions that visit me are of the same quality as when I was a child.
The crickets in the garden at night, the sound of the birds gathering for a gossip.
Smells in the house... the look in the eyes of my son when he talks about his adventures with his friends.
Little things, but they touch me again like they used to so many years ago.

Hello village of wonderful people,
I've missed you all, every single one of you. Back today from vacation/working on family estate stuff in New England. We stayed at a camp on the lake with other family, and I got to meet Louie, a retired service dog who worked with a Down's syndrome child for many years. He's amazing. Looking in his eyes, I felt a connection to such kindness and intelligence. He was very protective of the woman who worked with the child, and when she went for a kayak trip on the lake, Louie swam with her at first until he was coaxed back to shore. He was undeterred ... he followed her along the shoreline all the way.
Here's Louie.

and seem to have an idea of one another's being. I was so touched to see Calzie's family photos today.
Yet I also respect those who want to guard their privacy, for various reasons.
Many of us here have had experiences with other forums which started out ok, but often just fade away after a while...
and wonder why did it have to be like that?
And why has this not happened with this Here and Now thread?
I must say I am surprised that it keeps on bouncing back.

I don't know whether to slather the slop on the wrinkles or put the super-drying gel on the zits...obviously they are not supposed to co-exist. Okay, 80 and 15 at the same time? Milk the donkey, water the drink.

Well. Now that is definitely something I had not thought of. I had to look this up.

It is said that Cleopatra, Queen of Ancient Egypt, took baths in asses’ milk to preserve the beauty and youth of her skin.[1] Legend has it that no less than 700 asses were needed to provide the quantity of milk necessary for her daily bath.
Um...maybe I could find it in some form that would not require a ... herd (?)... will continue my search.

Yes! Punch the rum. Great idea! As long as you lather, rinse and repeat. Donkey can be used as designated driver. Though one must check to see if he has a license.

Wow, have I had an education on donkey milk products, and am feeling like I have to get some. I had a little trouble, as it is sold from France most often. I found one site that used the dollar as the currency, and it was around $30.
Then, of all the weird places to find it, I found this from Sears for $1.79. I'm not sure that can even be right...

LOL I'm still stuck on the fires and poly-carbon tarps.
Curiosity got the best of me, the small blaze (around 3,000 acres) burning in the Anza Borrego area, which is in North East San Diego county, California sits on a small fault line and minor ley line. I looked up where all of the fires are burning currently to see if they are on a fault line or a ley line.
Most of the fire zones are either on fault lines, ley lines or both. Arizona (black ley line), California -most are on fault lines, on ley lines or both, Wyoming (near a blue line), Southern Nevada (black line); I'm still looking up Oregon, Idaho, Texas, Nothern Nevada, Utah, and Oklahoma. Also, most of the fires were started by lightning storms or strikes.
While I was digging around I found this geophysical-metaphysical earth site http://earthacupuncture.info/earth_grid.htm it is still under construction. Worth taking a look.

I see you all had a busy night playing with Cleopatra's asses. Distilling donkey pee.
Can't leave this thread alone for a sec or all hell breaks loose.
Villagers are supposed to keep an eye on earthquakes, hurricanes, droughts and tyrannies getting out of hand.
Also not to forget to admonish those who compulsively "predict" the worst case scenarios....
They need reminding that their visions of earth changes are the result
of too much right brain activity and are more to do with their own bodies
turning into wastelands and under no circumstances ought to be taken literally or we have self fulfilling prophecy.
There, I said it. Going to smoothe some new wrinkles now with whipped cream made from donkey's milk.

NONSURGICAL FACELIFT, NO KIDDING!!! ©
By Polly Guerin
Some say that a woman’s face is but a reflection of her inner beauty and perhaps the celebrated British poet, Robert Browning’s poem, ‘A Pretty Woman,’ concedes to this theory. One verse reads, “So, we leave the sweet face fondly there: Be its beauty, Its sole duty! Let all hope of grace beyond, lie there!” Ah, but how to maintain a beautiful, youthful face, that is the question. It is not only women in the performing arts, socialites, movie stars and celebrities who are drawn to products that insure an attractive youthful face it is every woman’s prerogative. This quest for maintaining one’s beauty has fueled a cosmetic industry rich in commercial elixirs, potions, creams and tonics all promising to keep the face youthful and wrinkle free.
THE MIRROR IMAGE
“Mirror Mirror on the Wall Whose the Fairest of them All?” said the witch in the Wizard of Oz. In the same manner don’t we all look in the mirror and start to fidget pulling facial skin tighter towards our ears or pulling at the corner of our eyes and notice how those crow’s feet seemingly disappear. “Well, don’t we say to the mirror image, “That’s how I used to look!” So how did these aging signs happen? Excessive massaging of the face can break down collagen, heavy drinking can impair blood circulation, too much sun does its damage, heavy smoking encourages wrinkles, and yo yo diets with weight gain and weight loss extremes take their toll as well. When Edgar Cayce, the great American psychic was asked, “How can people avoid aging in appearance?” He replied “The mind! I couldn’t agree more. I had an aunt who was handsome but not really pretty. However, she was impeccably groomed and before she left her house she looked into a blue tinted mirror and the world perceived her as beautiful by her radiant smile and sparkling eyes.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
In a healthy person a large amount of fat is packed under the facial skin and as we age, this fat tends to diminish and the skin becomes less elastic and begins to show the telltale signs of sagging. In response to an inquiry, “How can sagging facial muscles be avoided?” Cayce advised: “About twice a month, we would have mud packs; face and neck, and across the shoulders and upper portion about the neck; especially extending over the area of the thyroids---as an astringent and as a stimulation for a better circulation throughout the system. (1968-4) Obviously treatment for the face starts at the upper portion of the body. However, once the skin has matured and deep lines pave their way into your skin and brown patches appear routine care will not restore a youthful complexion but maintenance will---cleansing, cell renewal, moisturizing and sun protection are the four keys to curtaining further deterioration. Yes, there are injections that erase lines and wrinkles, creams that stimulate the growth of collagen and surgery to tighten loose skin, even face-lifts to make a visible improvement on your appearance, but these can only be performed by a physician. There may be justified reasons to resort to plastic surgery to correct nature’s errors and in the worst scenario to correct serious deformities from accidents or war-related injuries.
EDGAR CAYCE’S ADVICE
The great prophet Edgar Cayce advised that, “Cosmetic surgery, the face lift, can be postponed or avoided entirely with a program of good nutrition, general exercise, massage, hydrotherapy, and special facial exercise. However, when the muscles in the face become flabby, the face droops, sags, and ages.” He further is a great exponent of positive thinking. “Negative thoughts and poor circulation accelerate the appearance of lines, wrinkles, blemishes, and muddy color, while poor elimination will not only produce blackheads, pimples, and dry or oily skin, but is one of the chief causes of major skin disease. Cayce advocated exercises for the face with the logic that if we can go to the gym to tone up our bodies, why not exercises for the face?
HEAD-AND-NECK EXERCISES
Remember those head-and-neck exercises I described in an earlier discourse on maintaining a gorgeous complexion. Well, back to the drawing board or should I say back to basics. These head rolls are an excellent way to start the day and perfect as a break exercise when working at the computer. Quite simple roll the head very slowly over to right shoulder, then to the back then to the left shoulder and return to center (repeat in the opposite direction, and do each roll at least 10 times). When performed each day, according to Cayce, his head-and-neck exercise will stimulate the circulation to the entire face, head and neck: keep the throat and jaw line firm; and prevent the formation of double or multiple chins. No cost, just your time, you don’t even have to go to a gym. When I do the head-and-neck exercise it sounds sand grating or crackling sounds that tell me the body is doing its job at maintaining my looks and sending oxygen to my brain.
SINGER’S TIPS
Having been a singer for a long time with a chorale group I am thoroughly convinced that singers’ good looks well into their 80s comes from the vibrations within their head when they are singing. I was delighted to find that Edgar Cayce seems to support this theory as he recommends, “Do as singers do and practice the vowels going up and down the scale singing as loudly as you can (benefits the mouth and cheeks)” as follows: Oh—Oh—Oh—Oh—Oh, Ah—Ah—Ah—Ah—Ah, Eeh—Eeh—Eeh—Eeh—Eeh—and Ooh—Ooh—Ooh—Ooh—Ooh—and repeat these vowels several times. Even a non singer can perform these exercises singing, of course, for her own amazement.
SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY
Alas we all want to put our best face forward to a critical world that seems to worship the cult of youth. However, there’s nothing wrong with growing old gracefully, but by applying some of these really simple and basic, common sense exercises the face can appear more toned up, brighter and less wrinkled. So how can you avoid aging in appearance? Well Cayce reminded us, “The Mind!” For how we think about the beautiful face we present each day, so it is in the eyes of the beholder.

Interesting theory about the fires starting on those ley lines...
however, it makes one wonder why the PTB would build their homes on ley lines
if they are vulnerable to catastrophe.
Although they tend to recover quite quickly, having the necessary cash.

"Housecleaning & Withdrawal Symptoms"
“Food and Healing: How what you eat determines your health, your well-being, and the quality of your life,” by: Annemarie Colbin
pg. 214 - “...The healing process itself often becomes manifest in certain general physical withdrawal symptoms. Because these can sometimes be mistaken for symptoms of illness, it is important to know of them in advance.”
pg. 216 - Michio Kushi has classified signs of such “housecleaning” by the body into ten precise categories of symptoms:
General fatigue
Pains and aches
Fever, chills, and coughs
Abnormal sweating and frequent urination
Skin discharges and unusual body odors
Diarrhea or constipation
Temporary decrease in sexual desire and vitality
Temporary cessation of menstruation
Mental irritability
Other minor transitory symptoms: restless dreams, minor hair loss, feeling of coldness
pg 216 - “...some of these will be experienced by each individual, and the healthier his or her general condition, the fewer symptoms there will be. The symptoms are also characteristically transitory, sometimes lasting only a few hours or maybe days. Steady and extensive physical activity will speed up the cleansing process which is why all effective dietary regimes include exercise.”
pg. 218 - “...if your symptom is on the list, (see above) and you feel OK about it, it’s a healing reaction. Or you can consider a very helpful concept about the nature of healing symptoms noted by practitioners of homeopathy: They have found that discharge symptoms in the healing mode tend to follow a specific order, or progression, namely:
Symptoms move from the inside to the outside of the body (mucus in the lungs is coughed up; toxic matter from deep within the system comes out as boils or rashes).
Symptoms move from the upper part to the lower part of the body (medication that affects the kidneys, such as steroids, can be discharged by a rash on the legs.)
Symptoms relating to chronic conditions disappear in the reverse order of their appearance; the ones that emerged latest leave first and the earlier ones reemerge and then leave last. This means that long after we set out on a healing path, we might relieve symptoms of very old problems if these were suppressed or incorrectly treated. Their reemergence (sometimes known as retracing), if treated naturally and allowed to follow its course, would only mean that the body is healing itself. For example, if you used to cough a lot as a child and took medicine and then developed asthma, when you go into a healing mode, you may have a brief flare-up of the asthma, and later - even several years later - have a coughing episode that is in fact a “retracing” of your childhood condition.
The foregoing three rules comprise “Hering’s Law of Cure,” after Constantine Hering (1800-1880), who formulated them. To these, John Garvy, N.D., has added two more:
- A feeling of well-being precedes a healing crisis.
- There is also a feeling of well-being at the core during the crisis; that is, deep down inside it feels OK.

Of course you are right, Ulli. Pimples are inconsequential. Wrinkles are, too. And, yes, I also know it is ridiculous to worry about either. If I had a penny for every time I give my own girls this talk...but, alas, sometimes all the consequential stuff wears me out. Who I really am jumps a foot or two when I look in the mirror and do not see Me looking back. It's a reminder, of sorts, that I am in two worlds at the same time. And, truly, it was nice to share a few minutes of levity. Plus, look at all the great natural remedies we all got out of the discussion (lol).

I did. Dad.
My sister (G) had tossed a white blouse in the washing machine while we all visited at my parent’s place. Her plan was to leave from there to her restaurant job. I should point out that it was a Sunday and no stores were open back in the late 60’s. Also, we were brought up with these rules. Quote: “Children are seen not heard.” “Speak when spoken too.” “When I says jump, you say how high.”
I’m about to leave when G comes up from the laundry room, red faced and choking back tears, though not doing a very good job of it. (We weren’t allow to cry.) She was holding her white blouse that now was a putrid brown color with clumps of shag rug stuck all over it. My father had tossed a rug in with her blouse.
His solution was to dig into his pocket, crumple up some paper money and toss it at her. With a tone of contempt, he said, “Here, buy three.” G’s on her knees collecting the bills and crying and explaining that no stores are open and she didn’t have time to go back to her apartment.
My two youngest siblings stood at attention, watching. I stepped forward without knowing what I was planning to say. It was more for my siblings than for a blouse. I looked my Dad in the eyes and said, “Money can’t solve everything.”
He raised his hand at me, but I’m 19 now and have my own apartment. In that moment several ah-ahs just went bing, bing bing: I realized I was taller than him now, I can ward off his blows now, I knew he wouldn’t even step beyond the threat, and somehow, he also knew. Which was confirmed by him demanding that I sit down. I simply told him. “No.” and continued, “Money doesn’t fix everything.”
Again, he demanded that I sit down, only this time, he stepped back and put his hand over his heart and said, “I think you’re giving me a heart attack.” I zinged back, “No, you are not. You are faking it.” He then added a stumble while he backed away still clutching at his heart, with a bit of a groan and plopped into his La-Z-Boy recliner. I couldn’t resist one last zinger, “Faking it. You always use that excuse.”
I picked up my things and walked out the door before he had the chance to kick me out. It wasn’t until I was safely across state lines that my whole body began to shake, my heart pounded right out my chest, and had I not been driving, I would have done a victory dance.

Thanks for saying "thanks" ...
nothing beats gratitude as far as energy exchange goes.
In terms of free energy an unexpected "thanks" is as good as it gets.
A lot of the time, in my 3D reality, I feel that people take me for granted.
Maybe one of the reasons why I like to hang out here and now.
I'm getting better at letting go of expectations,
as there is an inter-relationship between that which is expected and that which is withheld.

Praying "Rain"...from "Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer" by Gregg Braden...
"Any uncertainty that I may have had regarding how this principle works disappeared one day in the early 1990's. It had been a time of extreme drought in the high deserts of northern New Mexico, when my native friend David (not his real name) invited me to an ancient stone circle to 'pray rain'. After meeting at a prearranged location, I followed him on an early morning hike through a valley that contained more than 100,000 acres of high-desert sage.
.........
'Today,' he said, 'I will travel an ancient path that leads to other worlds. From those worlds, I will do what we came here to do. Today, we pray rain.'
I wasn't prepared for what I saw next. I watched carefully as David removed his shoes, gently placed his naked feet into the circle, and honored the four directions and all of his ancestors. Slowly, he placed his hands in front of his face in a praying position, closed his eyes, and became motionless. Oblivious to the heat of the midday desert sun, his breathing slowed and became barely noticeable. After only a few moments, he took a deep breath, opened his eyes to look at me, and said, 'Let's go. Our work is finished here.'
Expecting to see dancing, or at least some chanting, I was surprised by how quickly his prayer began and then ended. 'Already?' I asked. 'I thought you were going to pray for rain!'
David's reply to my question has been the key that has helped so many to understand this kind of prayer. As he sat on the ground to lace up his shoes, David looked up at me and smiled. 'No,' he replied. 'I said that I would pray rain. If I had prayed for rain, it could never happen.' Later in the day, David explained what he meant by this statement.
He began by describing how the elders of his village had shared the secrets of prayer with him when he was a young boy. The key, he said, is that when we ask for something to happen, we give power to what we do not have. Prayers for healing empower the sickness. Prayers for rain empower the drought. 'Continuing to ask for these things only gives more power to the things that we would like to change,' he said.
.........
Looking back at David, I asked, 'If you didn't pray for rain, then what did you do?'
'It's simple,' he replied, 'I began to have the feeling of what rain feels like. I felt the feeling of rain on my body, and what it feels like to stand with my naked feet in the mud of our village plaze because there has been so much rain. I smelled the smells of rain on the earthen walls in our village, and felt what it feels like to walk through fields of corn chest high because there has been so much rain.'
.........
It was the next part of his explanation that touched my scientific mind, as well as my heart, and truly resonated with me.
Following the prayers of rain, he described how feelings of thanks and appreciation were the completion of the prayers, like the 'amen' of Christianity. Rather than giving thanks for what he created, however, David told me that he felt grateful for the opportunity to participate in creation. 'Through our thanks, we honor all possibilities, while bringing the ones we choose to this world.'"

Rocky_Shorz had this theory (on another thread) that the Indigos, in their fear of nuclear radiation winds
unconsciously changed the course of the jet stream, and that this in turn caused the dry weather.
To me it makes sense.
What is often misunderstood by the naysayers about us causing outer reality, is that it is the deeper layers of our unconscious minds that
manifest reality, at least with the masses.
So the more people learn to go within, the more light will be shed on those hidden collective fears, and the more we can then starts using our conscious minds...
positive emotion PLUS positive intent...to alter reality to something more agreeable.

Sly & Robbie! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sly_and_Robbie): "...Sly and Robbie are estimated to have played on or produced 200,000 recordings,...."
200,000! I think we have an over eager wiki editor. The number I heard, was about 8,000 different albums, that they had and have been featured on, in some way. Which is a crazy high number already. They've been active for 35 years, and that would be 16 songs a day, at 365 days a year, for 35 years. Which is impossible. The person may be counting re-mixes done by others.

OK...my grandson...the boy in my avatar picture
he has a Sun Neptune trine in his birth chart ...exact 120 degree angle.
And he is always making these seal noises every time he is in the pool with me..
yet it sounds more like a squealing piglet. makes everyone laugh. He says it is meant to be a seal sound.
Another thing...he was born on the very same day that Blossom Goodchild had predicted the visitors would come, and who never showed up...
except for me- he will forever be the captain of a star fleet...hehe

After an over two and a half year hiatus, I have kicked off another reiki circle. I had the circle for over a year after my teacher left, and as of tonight we have started it up once again. The path or lineage I am in or on, is Ascension Reiki, with the first three are the traditional Usui attunements, then 4-12 are ascension attunements, and a thirteenth attunement comes at some point later directly from spirit. It's good stuff. Soon, free distance attunements shall be widely available, as it'd good practice for the class, and distance treatments and distance group treatments are available immediately. PM me with any energetic needs, right now the group meets at 6:30 pm central time on the first and third wednesday of the month, but that may soon turn into every wednesday, again.
It's been a long time, I'd forgotten how much I missed doing this whole reiki circle thing. The amazement people have when they discover new things they can do really makes it fun for me. It's a quick turn around from can this really be done to I can really do that! It's a hoot!

Just came out of my usual weekly alpha - theta training
sesssion . Today I nearly had a full blown trip,
it was like I was sitting at the peak of a roller coaster
about to decend and I freaked out . Dammit , next week
I will be more prepared . For weeks and weeks it's been
more like a deep relaxation but seems like I have crossed
a threshold and I'm now getting into more OBE work
very cool .
With that and an early job sorting out a haunted car issue
it's been quite day .
PL reiki sounds excellent I was thinking of doing reiki 2 this
year, it's a word most people have heard of and I find it gets
you in the door with more people, after which you can use
other modalities as well .
PL I have been meaning to ask you - how is your garden
progressing ??

The garden is coming along great in the backyard, in the front the mounds aren't doing so hot, they got pretty parched when we went to visit Playdo and they never fully recovered, the corn out front also pretty much didn't make it, but the okra is coming along out front, and I've got some tomatoes out front that are doing well, and the watermelon is doing fine out there, too. I've put squash plants in several places, and they are all doing fine, but in the back I had a white mold issue that killed my oldest squash plants, and did a number on the cucumber and watermelon, but skim milk and water mixed and sprayed on was the remedy, and it worked great, so watermelons and cucumbers are growing as we speak. The corn and sunflowers out back are huge and in bloom, and the okra, too, and the black valentine beans are producing and a bunch of purple koronis beans are working on producing, too. The christmas limas are climbing the satellite dish, the banana pepper is producing, but all the other sweet peppers and bell peppers are still growing. The collards and purple dragon carrots and the paris white cos lettuce have done best of all. I know I'm forgetting some things, but that's most of it. Not everything has done as well as I'd like, but I've learned a lot about plants these last few months. I've been putting in broccoli and various greens to harvest later in the fall, and I've a dozen different herbs starting in the kitchen right now, too.

I’m stopping by to say « Hi » to everyone. These past few weeks, I have had no desire to walk through Avalon. I still have been checking in with the Village through the veil though as I find myself drawn to you all. Village life is still stirring and blossoming. This makes me happy.
Since the beginning of August, and even a bit before that, I have find myself full of anguish… my personal leave will be ending soon and back to work I will go on Sept. 4. Arrrgggg ! I feel like a child being dragged somewhere it is not wanting to go. Picture this… holding on to the door frame screaming and kicking … “noooooo… I don’t want to goooooo”! It is getting better… most of the time. I therefore resolved to enjoy every second left. I am still hoping for a miracle. Surrender. I bring myself back to my center, sometimes requiring a lot of strength, as it is the only way for me to stay relatively sane. I am grateful, as I know that taking a 6 month pause like this, by choice only, is not given to everyone. I am blessed to have been able to do this. I also remember that I will be going back only for a little while. Miracles are sometimes long in the making.
My energy classes are going great and I have been growing in this path a lot. I found myself being called by a friend of a friend to give her a treatment at the hospital. I found this to be very interesting to be in a hospital setting doing energy work. As I grow stronger in my calling, I have received many gifts. It is a work in progress.
On another note, my friend Catherine had her last chemo treatment last Thursday. In five weeks, she will undergo the mastectomy. She is doing good, considering. Her hair is starting to grow… she looks like a little bird. I call her my “pit-pit”. I thank everyone who is helping her out. My daughter and her family are still living in the camper. They still have a couple of weeks of that, and then they will move in their new-old house. Quite a financial downfall for them, but everyone is healthy, fed, and they have a roof on their head. It’s all good. The Garden is beauty full.
I’m rambling on. I just wanted to let you know where I’m at. Now… gotta get ready as I am meeting a friend to go to the museum see the “Maya, Secrets of the Ancient World” exhibition.
So much Love…

P.S. Remember these people with their front lawn garden ? They won! The city is leaving them be! :) Thank you Village!

Ahhhhh the summer harvest. The slow trickle of the highest quality food known to humankind. I so wish I could share it with every hungry belly in the world.
First, a few young kale leaves, chives, and some lettuces. Lettuces? Oh yeah! Plural, and too many to name (even if I knew the names - the "mixed" seed packs are such a great way to get variety.) No "iceberg" in our garden, and even the (mildly boring) romaine was replaced with a stunningly beautiful (and I assume, more phytonutrient rich) red romaine this year.
Kohlrabi, strawberries, raspberries (neighboring gardener), cucumbers, (anyone salivating yet?), the earliest peppers and tomatoes (including those sweet little Sun Gold cherry tomatoes that are eaten off the vine, make great salsa fresca, and can be dried into a near-candy.) Nice size heads of red cabbage...a great year for broccoli (after a complete bust last year), sweet peppers turning red...
Peas were a bust this year, but it was my fault, not the climate, because neighboring gardeners did just fine with peas. The cucumbers put out a few nice 'cukes and then succumbed to a white mildew/mold - I'll have to try Purple Lama's skim milk/water trick on the few winter squash that are infected. Cutworms took all 6 of my jalapeno plants, so I have to rely on the farmer's market for that salsa and stir-fry ingredient. Next year, the cutworms will have to cross over a moat filled with crocodiles. Colorado potato beetle larvae invaded in two waves, chomped quite a bit on a few of my purple potato plants, but once again, I was able to triumph over those voracious grubs and send them off to the bug spirit plane - where they laugh and sing and dance and plan next year's reincarnation.
Ahhhhhh, the summer harvest.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbNc7GzRSqM
I just found this joke about congress:
A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the Washington DC beltway. Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window.
The driver rolls down the window and asks, “What’s going on?”
“Terrorists have kidnapped Congress, and they’re asking for a $100 million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire. We are going from car to car, collecting donations.”
“How much is everyone giving, on average?” the driver asks.
“About a gallon!”
PS You can see how slow a poster I am. I see that others were confused about 443. I should have started at the end. Sorry, Mad Hatter, didn't mean to gang up. I know that "https" means you'd need a password to get onto the site.

Wow, Dennis, besides learning we'll be around beyond December 21, 2012 or beyond March 21, 2013, I know you are a talented: writer, farmer, and photographer and crocodile keeper and have a strong constitution for jalapeñoes.
BTW: How did your daughter's teepee turn out? (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?45665-Waterproofing-cloth--for-a-kid-s-teepee-&p=496391&viewfull=1#post496391) All waterproof and decorated? Way cool that you and your daughter did it together. (photo below)
"My daughter and I built a teepee last summer (her first big project on her sewing machine.) This is not a "living" structure, but a kid's "fort" and tent that she and some of her friends did sleep out in it a couple of times. It is collapsible, made from eight 2x2x12-foot long poles and cloth. The cloth was some surplus cloth someone had, that was supposed to be something like the cloth used for men's swim trunks. I want to waterproof it."

Wow PL loved that garden update
Try mulching your beds to deal with parched issues
it keeps in water and also adds nitrogen , I use pea
straw here it works really well . Also helps keep bugs
down . I'm trying lots of new things this spring been
busy getting all my seeds ready
Also I decided to built a poly tunnel next autumn to extend
the growing season seeing here its so cool . Been reading
and looking at tunnel designs they are pretty easy to DIY
Great to hear about Catherine , samsara ... I have been

Lately, I can feel that there is one spirit that moves trough us all when I make contact with animals, or they with me.
It is a weird feeling.
It's like I can see that they have an 'animal experience' part in them, which feels separated from me , but also the part that is not separated from me.
So when my cat is coming to me for a hug, and we look at each other, it's like one being, having two aspects of experience of life, connect.
Also.... when tuning into this, animals are in no way dumber then men. I can't explain really. Maybe it is our 'ego' part that is making us act like we are more evolved. Animals understand as much as we do... on a level of understanding life and nature that is.
Of course, uncountable people have written about this before and in much better words, but for me it is a new experience it feels like coming home a bit.

I can't decide if I'm doing great in this progression, with the clearing and cleansing (and such) so clearly evident...or whether I was vibrating at such a low frequency, I was of such a low level of consciousness, that I had an insurmountable leap to make and taking that on will keep me in a state of flux until my last breath. Kill me or make me stronger...some of the time I know not which. It is not as bad as it could be, and it is not as bad as it was. Just different. And each step of the way is full of changes, and each step is almost too steep. Then everything settles and somehow the excitement returns. Between the ick and the excitement is wonderment. Always morphing, always new, always worth it.
But, you really have to want it, don't you?
I have increased my water consumption to the point that water now makes my throat sore lol. It feels like I am drinking persimmon juice. I think there might be something sweet and wonderful somewhere in the world called persimmon juice, but I'm talking about the unripened persimmons my brothers used to trick me into eating when we were young. I remember that my-mouth-is-turning-inside-out feeling very well. And it feels a lot like drinking one more bottle of water. (Chuckle to myself here, but it's true.)
Em and I went on an adventure this evening. We went the other way on the road we always take. It was beautiful. Just like where we are, only bigger. Lots and lots of pine trees (obvious why they call this the Piney Woods of Texas), hills, completely empty blacktop road. We coasted, we zoomed, we breathed. Nice :) I'll tell you, though, there truly is nothing around here but hay. And some cattle once in a while, a horse or two thrown in for good measure. We were astounded at how many homes or barns had been abandoned and left to just...fall. We could probably house most of the homeless people in Dallas in these places. It's sad.
Time to turn in, finally...if my body will cooperate and sleep. Never know lol. Em was up from 4am to 7pm...almost switched her from being a night owl in two days :)

Ok.... it's rant time.
Things here and now are in excellent order,
so let me go in search of some trouble.
Picking up my battle axe and my frying pan
I'm going to war against the compulsive WE sayers.
Especially those who have never met ME.
"WE are confused...WE are destroying our planet...
WE need to meditate more to get out of our mental mess...
We need to meditate more? Oh really?!
You mean, I will have to spend less time on the Internet? Fat chance, in my case, anyway.
We need to eat less. Indeed!
We need to use the Internet to change the world...hey...
that one would include me.
But change? Mee... change? Kidding, right?!
I vill now hit them over the head vit a frying pan and say to zem
Ve? Ve?? Shpeak for yerself!!"
Then there are those who have already learnt to speak for themselves
yet go on ranting against "people" as if there was anything seriously wrong with people.
But that war is for another day.

I knew it!
Earth is being chased by two planet-sized objects. (( ;0 ))
But wait...isn't that what the great Pyramid looks like in relation to the two smaller ones?

They're all getting geared up for something -
German court widens army's internal crisis role
The German military will in future be able to use its weapons on German streets in an extreme situation, the Federal Constitutional Court says.
The ruling says the armed forces can be deployed only if Germany faces an assault of "catastrophic proportions", but not to control demonstrations.

wow. Mars astrology. I wonder what it would be like to have the red planet be the prime vibration and others be the modifiers?
For that is what we exist as on earth.
we all take the astrological modifiers and add them up as seeming as if they are the ebb and flow, vibrationally, in time..of how our given life unfolds as a motion of an individual as they move about in a flowing changing stream of water.
Think of it being like walking through a riverbed up to about one's waist, in flowing water at all times....... and then walking up and down through different riverbed terrain where the water is both deeper and shallower, and flowing differently. And that as we walk, the riverbed and flow is changing all the time, on it's own, according to a complex circular-repeating pattern (more like a ascending spiral)....that has about 8 or so components that change in various speeds and ways of integrating.
That is astrology. And..it is 85% correct, at a minimum, with regard to predicting potentials of influences and potentials of conditions for an event to 'be'(to take place), and the direction it may be shaped in. it is not specific about the given event, only general flow and pressure-directions.
However..we forget that the main stream/river itself... is that of the earth's vibration and also the fabric of 3d reality.
On mars, the river itself..would be..that of Mars, not Earth.
The fact that astrology works, is an alarm bell for the linear thinking mind, that they can have severe difficulties in dealing with. Something akin to a form of a trap door opens in their minds and they find themselves floundering about in a bit of fear, for their fundamentals of mind and self security in 'knowing'..... does indeed take a serious hit.

Carmody, I love your astrology analogy. Am trying to wrap my head around a Mars vibration as a baseline from which to experience life.
And I'm wondering, where did you get the 85% correct? I kinda thought it'd be higher?
Here's my never-ending chant for the times, for us all:
I love you
I'm sorry
Please forgive me
Thank you.
Lots of love to everyone,

So if I was living on Mars, and there was a Pluto transit coming up to square my natal Earth...what would I do?
Well, of course, I would run for cover. As deep underground as possible.
Earth energies have got to be the wildest ...from the most sublime to the worst horror scenarios.
Having a well positioned Earth in a Martian's chart would then mean a life of peaceful bliss where anything is possible.
And the reverse...well, I'd rather not even go there.

What does one say on page 444 of this thread?
When I was a cub scout, my "pack" number was 444.
By birthday was 4/4/54 (ten years late?)
The zipcode I grew up in starts with 44, as did my phone number.
My social security number has a 444 sequence in it
...all of this came to mind one day, about thirty-five years ago, when a stranger I had never met approached me and said that he was directed to speak to me. He said that if he was accurate, that the number "44" would already be significant in my life. According to him, there were 44 beings - in spirit form - that were assembled to help the study group. The group, "Fellowship of Friends" was studying the work of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky and others, and wondered if I would be interested to attend meetings. I only attended one (I had made up my mind that I refused to pay for any philosophical/spiritual material, and they wanted money), but afterwords I did read some of the writings of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky.)
So there. hahahahhaa Here and Now the thread page 444 triggered this memory for me!

I am proud to announce, too, that, with Purple Lama's assistance and guidance, I have begun a Reiki circle in my neck of the woods. I am also following the Ascension Reiki path. PL actually gave me my 4-12 attunements way back when. Leading a circle has disciplined me to walk a straighter line spiritually and to be much more mindful everyday of not falling in to anger, and being filled with gratitude. Grateful I am. Cheers to you too Purple Lama and Lotus Blossom!

Well, Dennis, I went back to page 444 and found it excellent.
Was missing the Thankyou button.
Anyway, a true Village Happy Hour there, with everyone chirping.
Calz in particularly good form. And Modwiz' joke even lept from
that other page, like it really craved attention.
And that number thing, Dennis, no one has it as much as I, although my numbers are not 444.
They are a variation of 17, 9, 19. These three numbers appear on forms, telefone numbers, car numbers,
Anywhere where spirit wants to send me signals. Not to forget the constant barrage of 11:11, 1:11, 2:22, 7:11, 9:11, 9:17, 7:19 on my clocks.
Been like this since I had my first awakening in 1977.
Then got into Gurdjieff and Ouspensky....so now that you shared your number thingy I'm having a guess that Gurdjieff's soul group is behind all the synchronicities.
Plus he himself also mentioned them quite often. Just like those Jmes Redfield books.
Interesting...hmmm....

In this rank, the bodhisattva of indomitable spirit turns the Dharma-wheel of the non-duality of brightness and darkness. He stands in the midst of the filth of the world, "his head covered with dust and his face streaked with dirt." He moves through the confusion of sound and sensual pleasure, buffeted this way and buffeted that. He is like the fire-blooming lotus, that, on encountering the flames, becomes still brighter in color and purer in fragrance". He enters the market place with empty hands," yet others receive benefit from him. This is what is called to be on the road, yet not to have left the house; to have left the house, yet not to be on the road." Is he an ordinary man? Is he a sage? The evil ones and the heretics cannot discern him. Even the buddhas and the patriarchs cannot lay their hands upon him. Were anyone to try to indicate his mind, [it would be no more there than] the horns of a rabbit or the hairs of a tortoise that have gone beyond the farthest mountain.
Still, he must not consider this state to be his final resting-place. Therefore it is said, "Such a man has in and of himself a heaven-soaring spirit." What must he do in the end? He must know that there is one more rank, the rank of " Unity Attained."
Unity Attained:
Who dares to equal him
Who falls into neither being nor non-being!
All men want to leave
The current of ordinary life,
But he, after all, comes back
To sit among the coals and ashes.
The Master's verse-comment says:
How many times has Tokuun, the idle old gimlet,
Not come down from the Marvelous Peak!
He hires foolish wise men to bring snow,
And he and they together fill up the well.
The student who wishes to pass through Tozan's rank of "Unity Attained" should first study this verse.
