Yes, Flash. So much commerce (economic and otherwise) in today’s world is being conducted in inadequately mastered foreign languages, mostly pidgin English. The imperialist will always say ‘You will understand me’, not the other way round. Hence any complex thought disappears, to be replaced by the magical, authoritarian properties of ‘And’.

The vogue for this conjunction dates back to the translation of the Bible and the Book of Genesis. Pure story-telling: no whats or whys or hows or whens. And God did this. (dot) And God said that. (dot) And Man thought, Wow! And God said do this and do that. And Man just did what he was told.

Then closer to home: And a plane came along and hit WTC1. (dot) And WTC1 was destroyed. (dot) And before anyone could say ‘This has never happened before’, corroboration came. And another plane came along and hit WTC2. (dot) And WTC2 was destroyed. (dot) And so on and so forth. Until someone said, ‘Let’s join some of those dots.’

We need to be smarter because things are complicated, more so than they seem when we listen to people trying to pull the wool over our eyes. ‘Not so fast’ is a good motto to slow down all these salesmen saying ‘Hurry up, for tomorrow (or Dec 21st) will be too late’. Reading the fine print is time well spent.

For example, an Eastern European will try to raise arguments and go deep in the argumenting mode because, culturally, it is not only accepted but also a sign of intelligence and intellectual pursuit and pleasurable. I call it argumenting for the sake of argumentation. I often, as a North American (but French speaking Quebecer), see no pleasure nor use for it. So I think that their behavior is gross and direspectful. They think I am a stupid thinker. Well, I have learned to see the real situation without judging, but for most, it is difficult to comprehend (on both sides). I have seen this situation again and again and again in many different cultural encounters, Montreal being a melting pot of the whole planet, and having lived and worked in at least 3 countries, and work in a fourth one as well.

Culture plus language has a huge impact on thinking and writing. Another example I truly do not understand the obligation of wearing arms for American. To me, and to most Canadians and to most Europeans, this is incredible, we would even say, some of us, violent behavior. I came, however, throught exchanges, to understand the logic beneath it viewed from an American point of view. Therefore no more judgment. It is like that for lots of things, sexual contexts, religious thinkings, nationalistic tinted views, `family life understanding, relationships, etc. The cultural differences are just vast. And add to this the individual differences, you see...

This is why acceptance and reworking broken relationships is so important worlwide. This is why relationships are so easy to brake. Across languages and cultures, tolerance is a must, reworking a necessity. In my views.

Thanks for that. A close friend is eastern European. his argumentative side can be very wearing, to say the least. To add, he is a champion debater, in his youth. He is also of incredibly fast mind, with capacity to speak on multiple subjects simultaneously, with depth and authority. He is a Gemini, I remind him. It's his lot in life. 'No', he says, 'I was born under the sign of the spider'. 'That much is obvious', I tell him. (there is a whole thing of the spider sign being a hoax, so don't worry about it)

when I ran into him, he was the first person I had met, that offered any challenge to my mind, in over 15 years. Thus I woke myself from a self induced stupor, in order to address this 'call to the game'. (do I hear an invitation to the dance?) (I had been bored with life in all wearing, repetitious, and meaningless bits... and had simply shut myself down into an automaton.)

Morning, All!

Had to dash yesterday to babysit my 3 year old grandson while my daughter is completing her degree..quick reheat of veggie chili for dinner...and off to a rehearsal.

Hope you don't mind if I do a little cleaning up after the mess I made in the Village.

ulli, thank you so much for the advice on integrating my inner bitch (I call her Bertha...yes, I named her) and she thanks you for the hug. No signs of Meryl in you, so it must work. I've been trying to be like an eagle and 'soar above' the scorpio tendencies. Big Bertha had other plans and would come out when she wanted, reach up and go for a ride. So much for 'soaring above'.

About you being intimidating? No way. You are gracious, warm and kind...people just need to get over their own projections and fears, and approach with openness.

Carmody, loved your posts about fire sale...very timely.

Life is messy. We all carry inner crap, as well as the tendency to hide it from others. Why? Is it fear? Shame? I've been told irl that when I speak to people, I'm intimidating because of 'the way I look them in the eye, like I could see all the hidden places within them', making them squirm and feel uncomfortable. But we're all flawed. We all have trauma and shadows. We all really can see, on an unconscious level perhaps, each other as we really are and not as we desire to appear to others...not telepathy exactly, but it is as tho' we are playing a game of hide and seek with ourselves and others. Can't seem to find the words to explain it better. All that is hidden is known...it can be found in the stream...all of it.

Anyway, back to cleaning up my mess. Bertha comes out to play when she gets tired of me unconsciously reacting to things that need fixing. Unfortunately, she tends create a very public display, and she will pester me with the incident over and over until there is no way I can avoid dealing with it...it's like a big ole red pimple on the tip of your nose...can't be missed, can't be hidden. And once self-examination takes place, acknowledging it out in the open prevents me from attempting to hide it again. Oh sure, there is still a lot of processing to be done to clear out the rest of the debris, but that is nothing once I get over the initial discomfort of airing out my laundry for all to see. But we all have dirty laundry...why fear others seeing it?

I have such deep gratitude to so many Villagers (you know who you are) for their kindness, understanding, encouraging words, support and help through this...and accepting me, dirty laundry and all.

Love you all. :grouphug:

Grey and balmy here. Bucolic. A sharp contrast to the challenges that await us.

Visited with sisters in Astral. Cleansed. Spirit bells and kundalini in my spirit house. I didn't recognize them at first as I awakened beside them. It had been too long.

It would have been useful to have given one or two examples. One possible source of confusion in language is pronouns. For example what does ‘it’ refer back to? Often there will be more than one possibility. French has two words for ‘it’, ‘il’ or ‘elle’, depending on the gender of the noun, so the language is naturally clearer, but also more comfortable with phrases like ‘the former’ and ‘the latter’, which are clumsy in English. Legal texts have to find other ways, but normal English will often simply tolerate a degree of ambiguity and hope for the best.
My mother drove me mad with her ambiguous "it" and "its". After many years, I came to the conclusion that in life, she was sloppy on purpose, to avoid taking responsibility, and that avoidance, came out in her language.

Another area is the use of conjunctions and linking phrases. English isn’t keen on ‘thus’, ‘therefore’, ‘indeed’, ‘however’ etc. if it can get away with just a few ‘ands’ and ‘buts’. French is uncomfortable without such link words, and can sometimes seem pedantic because of this. Typically, for this and others reasons, the wordcount will be 10% higher. The thing is that conjunctions are useful signals for the reader as he or she navigates through a piece of writing. Moreover, they are also useful signals for writers working out what they want to say. They don’t always really know :)
And 'moreover'. :)
That leaped out at me, after reading the above lol.

Similarly, the notions I discussed above are to be seen as part of a circuit diagram for language – harmless enough until you plug it in to an ungrounded power supply of emotions and other uncontrolled states of mind. Just throw that switch and sparks may fly!
Uncontrolled states of mind. Fascinating phrase.

Oh, THANK YOU! "she was sloppy on purpose" How simple. You've just helped me connect lots and lots of dots! I know people that do that and dismissed what my gut said. I've got siblings that only use this communication style. It's exhausting to be around them.

And my boss played that game, too. I always felt like he was covering his a$$. http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/smileys/yapyapyap-smiley.gif (http://emoticoner.com)

And thank you, too, Araucaria, for the post starter (or is it starter post? Ha!). http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/smileys/big-smile2-smiley.gif (http://emoticoner.com)

OMG - So many more people come to mind! Anger and relief and now judgement and now laughing with joy that I feel so empowered. I might just call them out on it now that I have the words..."sloppy on purpose".

Love, love, love!

It is very difficult to explain to a unilingual person what the different thinking frames are when using a different language. Often, while trying to explain the complexity and precision of the French language to English speaking people, I will get an answer such as "what are you talking about, English is very complex, we have X verbs, Y nouns, a grammar that does a b c, etc), I would never have such an answer from a multilingual person. It is just, plainly, different ways of thinking, with its advantages and disadvantages. But it definitely is another model of the world. More languages one knows, more complex understanding one can have with the written language and mostly, more induction/deduction one may make from a badly written text in order to come to understand it.

A delightful discussion, araucaria and Flash. Thanks.

I suspect I see a bit of this in computer programming languages as well ... but they are much less subtle than human languages, and besides I should spare this audience any geeky monologues on computer languages. They are different however, leading to different ways of perceiving problems, and hence different solutions.

I'd like to imagine that there is a common (and diverse in similar ways, across the planet) human element beneath the veneer of language and social custom, rather as there is beneath the veneer of choices of clothing. Perhaps we humans are getting better at noticing the shared awarenesses, beneath the multitudinous veneers of language and custom. We don't need to abandon or squash the differences; which are part of humanity's essential strength. Rather we can take delight in the distinctions, as between red and yellow roses, while at the same time and an other level, sharing our common awareness and unique perspectives.

The Web is having a major impact here. My father went off to fight World War II in the Pacific with an image of the Japanese rather like I have of cockroaches. Such rampant national bigotry seems much harder to instill in those who have spent much time on the web, working side by side with people from all over this planet. A decade ago, I too could hold such bigotry, against those I "knew" caused 9/11. That's shifted, now that I've spent the last decade working mostly in broad international contexts on the Web.

If this is happening to enough of us humans, it must be rather frustrating to the bastards in power ... :violin:

Your comparison with computer languages is right (less subtile may be, but in the same directions). Multiply the complexities by 10 with I don't know how many exponents for human languages.

This is why tolerance and constant reworking (or repairs) is necessary. We just can't imagine how much tolerance is needed.

As for as for the common underneath things, yes there are, but not as many as we would wish or think, when taking all together the individual, collective, cultural, language, etc differences. We are all biochemical quantum electric beings as much as my cat. Most of us have access to an emotional range (more than my cat), and most of us are on a spiritual path (don't know for my cat), as little as it may be. When we respond to these, we respond to human mammals plus little bit of other things. This is it my friend. We pass hours responding to the biochemical organism (including emotional hormonal production plus tribal relations) and almost nothing for the rest. So most of us are unaware of the rest (beyond the language, cultural, and other biaises) which is where the true commonalities lies while the differences have been adressed and/or discarted. The main problem is that most of us are blind to this, we do not even know there is differences (I barely exagerate), so how to find the real commonalities.

Thanks Paul. I am sure there are some very interesting things to be said about computer language. I recall during the Climategate scandal, there were some amazing REM lines (comments) among the code used at the University of East Anglia basically saying 'this is cheating' and so forth!

The common element you mention does exist somewhere underneath. Before he was a political activist, Noam Chomsky was a highly influential linguist (professor of linguistics), the founder of transfomational grammar. Transformational grammar describes a deep structure (e.g. GI- kills- Jap) which can have several surface structures (e.g. an active structure, 'the GI kills the Jap', or a passive structure, 'the Jap is killedby the GI'). Stated very simply, you have grammar on the one hand, dealing with sentence structure, and semantics on the other, the underlying meaning. Of course, the choice between the active and passive voice is a choice of subject, a choice between the GI and the Japanese viewpoint. This is the situation within a single language. During WW2, the same thing in Japanese (however they formulate their surface structure) would have a very different meaning or deep structure.

So the commonality we are looking for will be achieved when we can share the same deep structure, which will only come by getting beyond our differences whereby, in this instance, American and Japanese are not just synonyms for human being.

Diversity and commonality, both in abundance, in both the lingual layers and the sub and supra lingual layers :).

Maybe there is some other language that I don't know that would express this better ... my English feels like fixing a watch with a sledge hammer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gangnam_Style

Although "Gangnam Style" has been met with largely positive reactions, some have found it wacky or even vulgar.[36] Matt Buchanan and Scott Ellis of The Sydney Morning Herald wrote that the video "makes no sense at all to most Western eyes" and it "makes you wonder if you have accidentally taken someone else's medication."[37] Paul Lester of The Guardian labelled it as "generic ravey Euro dance with guitars".[38] and Robert Myers of The Village Voice called it "an inspired piece of silliness".[39] Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strip, claims that the seemingly bad elements of "Gangnam Style" all come together to create "an awesome whole".[40]

OK. that was fun, kinda. sort of. which was apparently his point.

I have a friend who is from south Korea. He explained to me that the connection exists in that with regard to mind, thinking, and language....that of all the eastern/asian languages...that Korean is unique in that the jokes can be changed into the English language..,and the English/western translation retains the same subtleties of meaning. I do not know if this is true or not, it is simply what he said.

As for dancing, I know quite well where I actually stand, in terms of intelligence, in terms of emotional intelligence and in terms of spiritual development (I think). I would be afraid to put you back into induced stupor... lol.
However, you must know that you are waking me up from my own stupor most of the time. I just have a heavy tendency to fall back into it. The kick has to be strong while the softeness present. The balance is difficult to reach for me.
Anyhow, thank you Carmody for the stretch toward shaking my stupor.
Have now to go to work to adress the biochemical needs and beliefs that put me back into stupor. Your two years (previous post) away are surely quite justified. I just do not know how to take care of my responsibilities (raising my kid vs letting go for evolution) and let go at the same time.

this brought to mind a question I read somewhere:

what makes a mosaic, the image on the tiles, or the wall to which they are cemented?

Before you get to an image on the tiles, or a wall to cement them onto, you have the different colours of the individual tiles and the manner in which they are arranged :)

Thanks Carmody. I met a few Eastern Europeans that were wearing me off too. My ex being one of them. Intellectually very stimulating though (although in his case, he had low EQ in my views, so there it was draining litterally).
My lot is Gemini too ..... should I worry?????? lol

Well said, Flash. Joining in to form a chorus here.

Lets see how many women (and men) we can find to make a Carmody fan club.
Remembering how shy this guy is we have to tread carefully.
But he may also be intrigued by the attention and see it as a fresh challenge to prevent ego from resurfacing in the form of vanity.

Something I had to confront these last few days, along with the battles against my inner resentment.

No matter what the language, or the culture, or the tone,

In addition, what I like about this Village, is that I can venture into the woods. I can also venture beyond the woods and into the cities where there are less "rules."

Both villages and cities have their place and so does the woods. The trick is to respect each for what they are.

One word will suffice, for now: humanity.

When I understand my humanity, I understand your humanity, and everyone else's. And vice versa.

I then understand that humanity means understanding humanity - in an infinite regress. But long before you get anywhere close to infinity, you have identified enough specimens of humanity that you took for monkeys that the hundredth monkey effect kicks in :)

That is what I meant by arranging the tiles of the mosaic. The image may well be transcendence, but that is the result of the process. We are in the process of becoming. Levinas says, 'the perfection of man is his perfectibility' :)

Understood...and I was only teasing.
But we are investigating the deeper issues this month, so lets do it as a form of a dance...
two steps forward, one step back, an' all that....

Anyway, fandom, fandom, ...
googled the word to be sure of it's meaning.

Here it is:

Fandom (consisting of fan [fanatic] plus the suffix -dom [domain], as in kingdom, freedom, etc.) is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest. Fans typically are interested in even minor details of the object(s) of their fandom and spend a significant portion of their time and energy involved with their interest, often as a part of a social network with particular practices (a fandom); this is what differentiates "fannish" (fandom-affiliated) fans from those with only a casual interest.
A fandom can grow up centered around any area of human interest or activity. The subject of fan interest can be narrowly defined, focused on something like an individual celebrity, or more widely defined, encompassing entire hobbies, genres or fashions. While it is now used to apply to groups of people fascinated with any subject, the term has its roots in those with an enthusiastic appreciation for sports. Merriam-Webster's dictionary traces the usage of the term back as far as 1903.[1]
Fandom as a term can also be used in a broad sense to refer to an interconnected social networking service for individual fandoms, many of which overlap.

I have been in both situations and neither one is heaven.

The toughest part about having fans is that there is a powerful energetic pull to perform at all times,
and to live up to numerous expectations.
Very awkward situation.

The tough part about being a fan, on the other hand, is that one is trapped in an illusion,
and can never proceed into one's own search, nor discover that inner genius...

In terms of communication, Grice's Cooperative Principle and Maxims of Conversation had a profound effect on me while studying linguistics. They state:

"Cooperative Principle: 'Make your contribution such as it is required, at the stage at which it occurs, by the accepted purpose or direction of the talk exchange in which you are engaged.'

The conversational maxims can be thought of as precisifications of the cooperative principle that deal specifically with communication.

Maxim of Quantity: Information
Make your contribution as informative as is required for the current purposes of the exchange.
Do not make your contribution more informative than is required.

Maxim of Quality: Truth
Do not say what you believe to be false.
Do not say that for which you lack adequate evidence.

Maxim of Relation: Relevance
Be relevant.

Maxim of Manner: Clarity (“be perspicuous”)
Avoid obscurity of expression.
Avoid ambiguity.
Be brief (avoid unnecessary prolixity).
Be orderly."

Ok, let's see if I can make my point out of this without being ambiguous, untruthful, irrelevant, and perissologistic (whoops, already failed!):

If, according to Grice, successful communication and comprehension between two or more individuals is to occur, than those individuals must adhere to the maxims. If those individuals have different cultural filters and speak different languages, then successful communication and comprehension becomes even more difficult, perilous, and confounding.

So, take the biblical event of the Tower of Babel, where a diaspora occurred and different languages and cultures arose. If we suppose that Joseph Farrell's speculation on the matter is correct (that the Tower was a technology that would allow humanity to rival the power of the gods, so therefore the Tower had to be destroyed to protect the hegemony, and also to ensure that it would not be recreated in the future), then the fact that humanity was divided linguistically and culturally would create an almost insurmountable chasm of incomprehension and miscommunication that would possibly ensure the incessant reoccurrence of war and strife in a perpetual state of social darwinism. So, if that thought has any merit at all to it, then one could surmise that the key to human unity would be through successful communication across all languages and cultures. That doesn't mean there needs to be ONE culture, or ONE language, or ONE currency, or ONE world order, just simply successful communication, in alignment with Grice's maxims. Is this even possible?

I don't know. Ha! The only thing I can come up with is that if we all communicated through telepathy, and not verbal, nor written communication, it might possibly successfully fulfill each of the maxims: Quantity, Quality, Relation, and Manner.

PurpleLama, your karma is hilarious!

My wife is a budding artist... quite talented but in a sea replete with talent, hard to break into the commercial benefit zone. She also has a penchant for framing her art which of course raises the cost.

Because her former career was as a seamstress (pays about $50 - $60 a week in her home land, Medellin, Colombia) she started making the case that perhaps she should acquire the necessary machines she would need to start producing her own products for the purpose of providing some additional support for her daughter and herself. So we sold off the $30,000 diamonds (as valued by the former insurance agency) that was given to me through her will by my step-mother (who died in 1979) and that she stated in her will were meant for my wife. Sold in order that we could fund this project. We received $1,500 cash and purchased a two of the five machines she feels she needs.

So a few weeks ago she said she wanted to show me something (over the Skype video). She then held up some curtains (made of fabric) upon which she hand painted in her unique style of art. What was even whackier is that what she painted was an eagle. This happened to be the same Sunday 9eagle9 and I had ganged up on wynderer (something I still regret).

Anyways... in hopes I haven't lost the point, perhaps one can experience the best of both worlds of art (or pictures) and fabric if one has the imagination like Cristina demonstrated even though the frame would end up being the wind in this case.
Love to ALL, Chester

I have a friend visiting, top rated doctor in California in Psychology, his name is Doctor Higgins and he is blown away by what is going on here in the village, I'm handing the keyboard over to him...

he had no idea there was a forum like Avalon, he has written many books, looks like he will be joining us, if the Mods have any openings... ;)

Hello, This Dr. William Higgins, I type 1 word a minute so please be patient. I'm here.

Hello Dr. William Higgins. Very pleased to meet you.
I have an obsession with statistics, so if you will allow me....

One word a minute....
Many books.....

hmmm... you are giving away your age here.
Or you are a fast talker with a brilliant secretary?

I'm going to set up his computer with speech recognition so he can just talk and have his words appear....

he says...

I'm a slow talker with a brilliant secretary who, periodically looks up my words.

anyone have a deep question they've always wanted an answer on?

Are you aware that you might be asking for trouble here?
Two types of members here...those who want the answers for themselves,
and they usually get them via the ether, directly...
while the others want to quiz you to find YOUR REAL identity and perhaps vulnerability,
with little interest in their own.

he's consulted 6 of his patients while a gun was pointed at his head... he can take it... ;)

he isn't afraid after almost dying 2 weeks ago, that's why he gave his name, so anyone interested can look him up...

as for vulnerability, I'm known as teflon, he's the level beyond... ;)

Here is one...my husband lost his daughter when she was two, kidnapped by the mother, an Iranian. Years later found them in Chicago and brought the mother before the court. Then they disappeared again...after he had briefly seen her, accompanied by her attorney, as the court set up a meeting in a McDonalds...even though the settlement ruled father had the right to have access to his daughter. Yet they vanished again, and he living here in Costa Rica, too tired to pursue the matter. Today his daughter turns 27. As every year, he is very down.

Any answer would be amazing...PM is fine.

Hi y'all,

I just woke up from a nap. Not unusual. But I awoke feeling like I had fallen into the bed. And I dreamed! And I remember part of it...only it felt like more than a dream.

I was told to jump a short distance into the air and fall with my entire body in a horizontal position. And when I did, I didn't touch the ground. And if I did a bastardized breast stroke, I moved forward... Good thing I wasn't touching the ground, too, because I "flew" over this little pond, and it was exactly like the plastic-pond, bubbling and gurgling, but there were 3 little alligators in it. And they were snapping like crazy because there was food nearby. I wasn't the food, but I suppose I could have been...anyway, that wasn't the point. As I "hung" in the air, I learned how to use my energy to propel myself, and to push off the earth to go a little higher.

I can't believe this dream. How cool! The thing is, I have a memory of what it feels like to fly and really soar. I don't know how I remember that or from where, but I do. This was different. It was like...slow motion or going backward to remember the beginning...or learning how to fly now and the memory of soaring is from the future.

One holds the energy, and tries to keep it constructive/positive instead of destructive/negative. Energy/catalyst doesn't care which, so we impose our own bias.

My recent experience I don't think of as action/karma so much, but a huge reminder of not grasping, not forcing, had to be shown that one in a big way, it appears. I do regret the stress I see everyone under, in real life now, virtual life two days ago. Seeing reflections, to me, is pattern recognition. Taking a step back, now, and then, two more.

Hello and Good Morning from Idaho ~ Villagers...

Wow. There is a lot of catching up for me to do. You guys have been very busy here! Amazing and wonderful and a little distressing as well.

Ulli ~ I send healing blessings. 1inMany ~ and this, too, shall pass.

I'd like to take the easiest one to comment on first. Samsara ~ since you have a place in mind in the National Forest nearby for these beavers ~ have you considered buying a large trap and catching them yourself?

We feed a lot of feral cats and have had to trap some of them when the population got out of control and they were having babies right and left. We took them to be spayed and neutered just to have peace and end the fighting among males, and so forth. We did not wish to dump them anywhere but we did wish to restore peace in the valley, so we could co-exist together. This meant trapping was necessary. Government agencies would rather put all critters down except for the largest predators, like Grizzlies and black bears, so they are not much assistance to us.

Since the only help your local government or Forest Service is willing to provide is to kill these beavers. Why not consider just transporting them to a safer, less populated area yourself? Your neighbors and your family might go in on buying one or more traps. They sell for as low as $39 at a "Big R" Ranch supply. Those traps are large enough to catch some large cats. The next size up is about $59.

Some government agencies will rent such traps with a deposit required that will be returned when you bring them back but often there is a long waiting list. There are some helpful agencies and those that do not respect preserving life ~ so, when they are not helpful, this is another alternative.

There was such a demand in our area, no traps were available, so we had to buy our own. The saying, "Do not give your power away" applies to many situations and not just in spiritual matters or giving it away to government, Popes and Prophets either.

Anyway, you put some food and place them near the beavers. The only problem is that someone has to check the traps often to see if any have been captured, so they won't be left too long to be traumatized. Then, you transport them far enough away where they can begin again on this river but out of harms way. Mark the spot well, and get them as close to the river as possible. It will take some scouting to find just the right spot.

Especially, if you are doing this one-by-one, so they can reunite themselves if it takes more than one trip. You'd want to do this within a decent time span because the first one could disappear and make it harder for them to adjust to the new place.

Once we realize Government does not work in our benefit or on our behalf ~ better solutions become open and available. Some amiable solutions require a bit of stealth and research but we all have a pioneering past (lives) we've forgotten and are more resourceful than waiting for the assistance of others in angst. We are each "Masters with Amnesia."

It is helpful to have more than one trap, I forget how many beavers you said there were in this family? You know, prayers and visioning are fabulous but if you wish for results that aren't delayed, full of anxiety and frustration ~ sometimes it's just easier to solve these little problems yourself. Save those serious visioning requests for more vital things when you need actual spiritual assistance and collective assistance.

At least you can guarantee that these beavers will be taken where no people will be disturbed (like other neighbors) that might strike back by harming them or having the desire to just kill them out of hand. Imagine you are a beaver and look for the most hospitable spot you might wish to live. You already know features of where they've chosen to live right now.

Our mantra needs to be "Harm no being." To assist these Beavers is a worthwhile pursuit in it's own right. Although, we forgotten by now, forests and National Parks if not privately held belong to all of us, no matter how they wish you to believe otherwise by locking them up to human enterprise. Don't even get me started on how they shut down Salmon, Idaho and through Agenda 21 wish to make it a "No human zone." Fat chance.

The government always works on behalf of their own agenda and as such, they are not to be depended on too much if at all...This comes from witnessing the Forest Service "reintroduce Canadian Wolves" into an area in Salmon, idaho. This was one action that went fairly unnoticed by others who weren't around to see this take place. It was where all the little farming families who lived on old Homestead ranches barely making a living were promptly put out of business and lost these old farms.

The profit margin due to Gov't interference was already slim, hard to compete with the big food companies, who gained a monopoly over our smaller, local sources of food. And so when wolf packs grew, they'd come right by my place on a mountain overlooking the town when they wished for prime rib on the hoof. In this manner, I learned that those forest service folks were part of a larger agenda that was not working to benefit anyone who wasn't a predator. And that we had to watch out for the two-legged ones first! I have many stories but do not wish to digress here.

While I have a lot of faith in my own higher power and yours, our angels, and guides and even a group of villagers bringing good things into manifestation ~ still, it is far easier to move a few beavers than have so much angst over it. Not one of us is powerless over our various situations, we can do this individually and/or working collectively. In some cases, a hand's on approach works swiftly and cleanly but this is up to you ; )

How we learn so much comes through sharing common experiences and mapping out easier ways to accomplish things in the future world we are creating now...Now, it seems to me, that if government worked for us, they would just trap and move these beavers instead of wishing to destroy a part of the ecosystem by killing them. Unfortunately they are NOT working for the people anymore and answer to corporate interests instead. Don't even get me started...

As usual, the government is at odds with the desires of the people, so take it out of their hands and be stealthful and resourceful on your own if you are so inclined. We are certainly not helpless in such matters.

In Idaho when these farmers were on their last legs financially and they found wolves eating new calves and sheep to their hearts content, eventually they shot them at the risk of $100,000 fine. It is rumored there is a code of 3-S's; shoot, shovel, and shut up there. Farmers became inventive and a situation of "Us versus Them" ensued. Never productive for any party. These farmers were forced out of business since this was the primary intent in the first place by tptw.

You can sit by and pray. You can make more requests. We can all envision a good solution for all parties or you could just move them yourself ; )

Yes, Darla, wise words indeed. My Mom used to say that all the time. This, too, shall pass. Yep. Of course, she didn't mean it as encouragement as much as she meant to tell her children that avoidance works best. Another of her faves, "Just turn it off." There's the German influence. Now, those words are quite encouraging, and I use them a lot haha. And, now, why didn't we think of traps and relocation of the beavers before? Hmmm.

PL, your post left me wondering how this situation is related to forcing anything. Is that too personal to share? Or would you connect those for me? A step back from what? And, ever the worry-wart, are you still going to be able to frame pictures?

I found reflection to be an exercise of the mind. If one considers the mind illusory, then perhaps so is reflection. I have no stake in the matter... oh well, never mind.

Speaking of religious philosophers, I was listening to Dylan's "I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine" this morning driving to work. I was curious, and googled him and read about him. I really liked this youthful prayer that he penned while in the Manichean phase of his life: "Da mihi castitatem et continentiam, sed noli modo." (Grant me chastity and continence, but not yet.)

Yeah, that is his most famous quote. He had issues regarding women. When you return to earth as a woman you will have issues with Saint Augustine because of that.

My presentation at the palliative home went very well this morning. The doors are wide open for me to do my work there. I will be starting by giving treatments to the staff, so that they can experience how it feels, and then, I will be called upon for the patients when someone requests energy work. This morning, I was so nervous, my body shaking and I could hear a deep yell inside of me saying : Noooo! don't talk about it, they will kill us ! To be killed in a palliative home... that would be something. Instead of brushing the voice off, like I usually do, I called it to accompany me. Took a couple of drops of Rescue Remedy, and off I went. I'm really proud of me. :)

@ Darla: Thank you so much for your kind advice on the beavers. Unfortunately, the trapper was sent and he caught three beavers. I did not have much say in it as it is at my daughter's place (not mine) and the neighbour was at a high risk of flooding, so action had to be now. No time to find a spot, get traps, etc. We had good intentions (my daughter and I) but it was not too realistic. I admit that I regret bringing that energy to the Village...

@Justoneman: I've rolled the dice many times in my life. I get bored easily too, routine is my worst enemy.

Spirits communicate instantly, and don't slow down to type a reply...

Any answer would be amazing...PM is fine.

his X was Iranian... ;)

Doc here,

do not state your position to the family court. State what would be emotionally comforting for the children, like visiting their Dad

do not let anyone, including you base your judgement on an emotional reaction.

The court case happened a long time ago, during the nineties. The whole case plus his later efforts to keep track of his daughter drained him emotionally as well as financially. So there is nothing going on at the moment...no news in years.
I just wondered if Rocky could see her current condition, with those special eyes he has.

@ Rocky

Thanks for bringing Dr. Higgins to Avalon. I was just wondering if the doc would like to join in a conversation with the thread other than as a professional offering his services? As a Villager?
Because that is really the way this thread works...people talking about their own here and now to begin with, and later this can develop into a general conversation, which is fine, too.

But as a question and answer session between a psychologist and patients perhaps it would be better to start a special thread with the appropriate title...
I would then gladly use his services if I see the need to, and I'm sure others would as well. It is not every day that such an opportunity is offered. So thanks again.

When I was about 8 or 9 through tears in my eyes from all the injustices I saw in the world (and at that age I didn't see all that many yet), I proclaimed to my mom that if only we could all be telepathic the world would be a far better place; no one could misunderstand one another and no one could lie. Oh, how I miss my safe place, my support system, my family away from family. I am reminded of another time, when all the players and the pieces fell into place, and it was magical. Once in a while some magical mixture falls into place, and it just about kills me when it dissolves.

I wish....I wish....I had people in my physical world who would not raise an eyebrow if I told them about my wings, or who could and would make me feel "normal" for seeing things that other people do not see. I wish....I wish....there was a group of people close by who, no matter the intellectual and personality and cultural and age and geographical and situational differences, could and would feel compassion toward each other, and would be there to share with each other how the mundane appears to change as the Spiritual does.

But....I suppose it is not meant for me right now. This, too, shall pass. Growth comes, ready or not. Usually not.

Here and Now...I took the day off. I have to laugh, looking back at this day, because it looks just like the days I do not take the day off. The difference, I suppose, was giving myself permission to do absolutely nothing.

Hmmm...maybe I should take the day off every day :)

Here's to everyone having a day off, with Much Love,

Funny synchronicty today; last night I posted:

For a long time now, I have chosen to forge ahead, and not go back too far and process past events....

On my comics page that I read everyday, my favorite strip is Calvin and Hobbes, and I always read it first. Here is the one posted today:

And if we go to the wiki page for Hobbes, we find the image from the inside cover of his work 'leviathan', which is about:

In Leviathan, Hobbes set out his doctrine of the foundation of states and legitimate governments – originating social contract theory. Leviathan was written during the English Civil War; much of the book is occupied with demonstrating the necessity of a strong central authority to avoid the evil of discord and civil war.

Beginning from a mechanistic understanding of human beings and the passions, Hobbes postulates what life would be like without government, a condition which he calls the state of nature. In that state, each person would have a right, or license, to everything in the world. This, Hobbes argues, would lead to a "war of all against all" (bellum omnium contra omnes). The description contains what has been called one of the best known passages in English philosophy, which describes the natural state mankind would be in, were it not for political community:

In such condition, there is no place for industry; because the fruit thereof is uncertain: and consequently no culture of the earth; no navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported by sea; no commodious building; no instruments of moving, and removing, such things as require much force; no knowledge of the face of the earth; no account of time; no arts; no letters; no society; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.

and the image itself, of 'leviathan':

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/Leviathan_gr.jpg.

expand the image, and look closely.

I have cleared myself. I have nothing to hide. All the things that used to bother me (that made me wince), bother me no more.

Besides, there ARE boundaries in psychic connectivity that we naturally do not cross. Even in a full overlay, we get nothing but the general 'now', not the full details of one's origins. Our vibration is too different for that, but we can get a 'feed' off of "others" senses, as the mechanism is near identical.

It's like borrowing someone's car, we can get the basics but not the in depth details, no x-ray capacity. if we did that, we'd be them ,and that's not the point. But really, it is a matter of vibrational physics more than anything. That particular aspect of the key or matching to their systems is simply not there, unless we each will it directly, as a data exchange.

So all one's weridities (new word!) can hang out, and probably will in many cases, but not the depth of what made them be.

Which is why I could step inside another and live the horror of their death with them, and calm their body so they don't receive such a negative imprint...but not have such an imprint that I become them. Just their immediate issue, which is more than enough, thank you very much. Or, one can ride/share in another in their moment of thrills, or highs.

We retain our privacy and our individuality in a consciously psychically connected universe; the physics of matter, dimensions, and dimensional physics illustrates this.

Yes, I would cede all privacy for such a thing, and Rocky gave the reason why. Here's the caveat: If, and only if, I, and the group that I was in telepathic, open communication with, was able to exist in the highest resonance of love, light, and service to others would this occur. By rote, there would be no division, only unity in thought, direction, service, and action. It cannot exist in 3rd Density, nor 4th. The group itself must be of the same higher resonance, in unison, where there is no ambiguity, no falsehoods, no verbosity, no sarcasm, and no ego. This precisely is the Social Memory Complex of the right-handed, positive path. This may sound like a bland plagiary of the Law Of One, because it is. I do not claim the Law of One is the infallible truth, but it is that which resonates highly with me. My foundation from which I speak is strongly affected by the concepts which I have internally crystallized from the Law Of One into my 3rd Density Avatar filter. And further, I believe that it is a 6th Density Social Memory Complex from which my current incarnation has emerged. Ergo the reason why I am striving for such a thing to be established here and now. A group of like-minded individuals can progress to this spiritual evolution out of the 3rd Density. Ultimately, though, I know my Higher Self resides and operates from within the One. Die Urquelle. That is the Source, as Krishna related to Arjuna.

Edit: I didn't have the chance to read your post, Carmody, before I posted. I am still trying to internalize your statement. Vibrational physics.....still pondering that, physics not being my strong suit. I got issues balancing my own checkbook with addition and subtraction. Ha!

Savior complex, a sign that some deep hurt has never been confronted and healed....
Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs comes to mind...
Martyrdom...if it happens, ask for strength, but don't go out of your way looking for it.

being of service...absolutely...all of life is about service. But cannot be forced...must be blended with ones natural inclination.

The fire sale, this unwinding of our origins and past, to disarm it's autonomous problematic bits, this may and generally does cause great reaction in the body's base systems, and to the point of forgetting what was going on. This is possible as this part of who we are, it is part of the channels of mind and body integration and operation.

And when you touch it, to turn and face it....you threaten it's 'life', and it's 'job', which is to run the autonomous parts of the body, the subsystems. To protect itself, it engages in the mechanism of forgetting the connections to that hurt, it erases the conscious neural connections, but the base events and their coloration of the built self, the ego body, remains.

This is what I was trying to convey

When the reflection in the mirror no longer reveals my own woundedness or its 'job', I know I will be getting closer

Thank you so so much Carmody!

Suddenly, I am single mind extended across,
An unknown geography.
imprinted, as if by a river, on the moment,
her mind held in unison by a large, great, tribe.
Meandering in reverent concert among trees, feasting on leaves.
One great eye reflecting blue from the turn inward,
toward the hidden sky.
I am drawn forward by the lattice, a web of inaudible sound,
throwing and gliding on pathways we remember.
I am,(I am), We are,(we are), who can distinguish us,
a gathering of souls hulking and muddied, large enough.
(If there is a purpose), to carry the accumulated joy of centuries,
Walking within each other's particular knowing and delight.
This is our grace, to be a note,
in the exact core that animates creation.
An ocean of mind, moving, forward and back, forward and back,
outside of an emotion contained within it.
This is particle and wave, how simple,
the merest conversation between us, becoming the essential drone,
into which we, gladly disappear, a common music,
A singular heavy tread(?), ceaselessly carving a path,
for the waters tumbling invisibly, beneath.
I have always wanted to be with them, with you, so...

J_O_VM,

In your opinion, what is the difference between

a) Saviour complex
b) Acting a Martyr
c) Being of service to others

?

:)

Since you asked (only from personal experience)...

Savior “complex” –

This develops when one has, for whatever reasons, deemed that they are, in fact, a “designated” savior. There are some likely necessary prerequisites like in my case being exposed to a widespread concept that such a one or more beings could exist and that some supernatural power source that does not have the general public’s best interest in mind can only be overcome by one or more saviors.

To break is down simpler – that there is a supernatural bad guy force, there is the general innocent (key word innocent) public and then there is one or more beings who are sent by (or empowered by) a true, good guy force to “save” the innocents. The outer concepts of Christianity appear to be the current best example of something that supports this type of dynamic. Interestingly, I have found that mystical Christianity to be interestingly self-liberating and thus I have no issues with Christianity or any religion though I am not religious at all in any way.

Acting a Martyr

It is interesting that you said “acting” a martyr as opposed to “being” a martyr. It implies your view of martyrdom is already established. I share your view by the way as I do not see any benefits from martyrdom. Interestingly though I do see a “savior” as likely always ending up as some martyr. It is like the Japanese saying regarding the nail that sticks out the most gets hammered first. This both “savior” and “martyr” likely go hand in hand. A good savior usually (in fact, I can’t think of a case at the moment where not) ends up a martyr.

Being of service to others

This is most interesting as who would be the judge as to if what someone brought to others in their “service” to others was considered service in the first place? For example, let’s say there’s some planet where everything appears all screwed up. And on that planet appeared a being that had the general look and feel of being one of the planet’s inhabitants. Just some other human. And this one being wrote a 100 page book that contained all the answers required such that if the general population adopted the points of view shared as foundational to solution, their screwed up planet would transform, truly transform.

Who amongst that general population would be an adequate judge that the information was truly and only transformative? Understand, the entire planet is screwed up. Could there be one or more people on this planet that is not in some way screwed up? And even if we accept that everyone on this planet is to some degree screwed up, would the general population of the planet agree to suspend their own beliefs for a moment such that they would appoint a few amongst them to analyze the gift brought by this outsider as to whether or not the material should be promoted widespread in hopes the general population would open their mind and apply the recommended techniques that might lead one to prove to themselves their former and current ways are nothing but insanity and that it is possible to become sane by adopting these new, recommended views?

A long way to make a simple argument... that what would be deemed “service” to a sick planet would likely and only be what allows the illness to remain. Anything beyond that would be rejected and labeled as disservice. Of course, years later, when the general population has shifted to another view within the vast sea of insanity, they might look upon what was brought to them as wisdom. They would then elevate the messenger to savior status, put laws in place to safeguard the original message though interpret the message in various ways, even translate the message so those who speak other languages could be exposed to these messages (and interpretations), create the idea that the messenger may be “beyond” the common man and thus must be some special being which could only come from a god or set of gods, etc and a new religion is made. Lovely.

Anyways – I fight my own savior complex which had been under development since I was just a child and have refrained from publishing my 100 page book though I have been writing it for at least 25 or so years. I even have the title – Bookie Metaphysics. The good news is, the older I get, the more bored with the idea I get and thus perhaps I will never complete, much less publish the damn thing. (And the crowd sighs with relief).

In fact, if one is truly interested in studying the possibilities surrounding saviors, would be saviors and the rest of us, consider reading Richard Bach's cool little book, Illusions. One of the best reads I ever came across.

My recommendation to any would be saviors is to hermitize. The odds of a longer life increase exponentially.

The first tiny hint of light peaks over the hills here in San Jose. All that can be heard is the highway getting restless and my stomach growling from the high carb meal I foolishly ate late last night.

I wonder if sexual thoughts would be acceptable to others. Thoughts are thoughts that do not necessarily have to be acted upon. My concern is that 3rd parties would deem some thoughts as "evil" and soon we would have "the thought police" which in many ways we actually do have now.

It is my view that one who is anchored in a 3D physical body should have no issue exploring the 7 popular energy centers, one being the 2nd chakra where sexual energy is deemed to reside. I am only speaking metaphorically here and using the chakra metaphor to make the point.

Having said the above, I found for myself that fantasy (which is carrying through with the mental imagery)... in essence, to be invasive unless permission is given at some "higher level" of the target being (if that being is real and not made up in the fantasy). And then there's the risk of attachment which is a whole other potential exposure. Apologies I extended this post.

But the idea here is to bring out this question. If we could "read each other's minds" while still existing primarily as a 3D physical being... could we handle what thoughts we might read? Could we learn to evolve such that at the thought level we consider permissions as we appear to require at the physical level? And can we avoid attachments of we agree to meet in other dimensions of our being?

And the bottom line question, can this be done where we honor all facets of being a physical being? I believe we can. I am unsure if we will anytime soon.

I don't know. Ha! The only thing I can come up with is that if we all communicated through telepathy, and not verbal, nor written communication, it might possibly successfully fulfill each of the maxims: Quantity, Quality, Relation, and Manner.

When I was about 8 or 9 through tears in my eyes from all the injustices I saw in the world (and at that age I didn't see all that many yet), I proclaimed to my mom that if only we could all be telepathic the world would be a far better place; no one could misunderstand one another and no one could lie. Every single issue on the planet solved.

General question: would you give up the privacy of your mind to achieve this? To become, in operation as well as in source, a single being comprised of all individuals on earth? Fascinating concept, isn't it? ;)

living life as an open book leaves nothing hidden... who would be hurt?

Ha!

Having said the above, I found for myself that fantasy (which is carrying through with the mental imagery... in essence, to be invasive unless permission is given at some "higher level" of the target being (if that being is real and not made up in the fantasy).

Very interesting. I have a few thoughts on sexuality as well, and the protocols accompanying it.

The protocols in 3D are determined by the physical differences between men and women; where on the one hand one can be the invader the other, being passive, is invaded, or entered.

So the protocols are a bit like those of house owner and hospitality. Males are guests, and women are house owners. (subject of homosexuality is left for another time)
So it has to be invitation only. Signaling hospitality by leaving the front door open,
and present a table full of flowers and food and drink can make a hungry traveler think he can help himself.

If he then finds himself hit over the head with a frying pan just as he is sitting down
the question arises as to who is in the wrong here. Men have it tough these days. Their homework is to interpret the signals, especially middle easterners who have moved to the west.

In the spirit realm it's different as here anyone can be invaded, and anyone can have fantasies and become a predator. So it appears as if there are no house owners, and all are travelers. Not so, if one knows how that realm works and what possibilities of house construction it has to offer.
As long as individuality exists, the same hospitality rules apply, but here it is regardless of gender.
Individuality is either protected or it is open house for all. Depends on belief, in the end.

All this talk that self is only an illusion grinds on me...to me is simply opinion, or religious preaching.
In fact it makes me suspicious the behind it is a hidden threat and that there could be a predator.

I'm an individualist of the highest order. That does not mean that I reject the concept of ultimate oneness.
But in the lower dimensions there are schools which prepare us for the higher levels.
ultimate oneness only comes into play when all rules regarding self and other have been learnt, understood, respected, and are acted upon, and until such an obedience to universal law has become totally habitual the door of heaven must remain closed.

I am so in agreement with you on this....that there are boundaries that we do not cross.

Tho' I am not finished clearing myself, I feel I have nothing to hide...so done with shame and guilt and self-judgment.

Honest and open communication, well, hells bells...telepathy...bring it on! I'm so ready.

I still believe we all psychically "sense" each other by the way our own individual energies "reach out" to one another naturally....even online. Suppose someone else was to post under, say Carmody's nic writing in his style...wouldn't you feel the different energy exuded from within the words?

Yesterday I got a call from my dear friend, Cathy...feeling I needed energy work done, she asked if I wanted to come over last night for Reiki and chakra cleansing. I just love being connected on such a level that she could sense my need and offer help...I quickly accepted.

It was wonderful! I feel all sparkly and shiny! I can "see" so much better now...third eye and crown chakra needing the most work and opening wide...blockages cleared and balance restored.

Just what I needed to face the potentially stress-inducing, busy week ahead. Timing is everything.

Will be popping in and out of the Village as I am able...

Love you all.

I agree fully with this post. Yes, its all illusion... in the end. But the fact is, I (perhaps us all) approach this end entirely from the other end. I also have the hope I never reach the end. What does that say? I am always one or more steps away from full blown psychopathy (as long as I exist within some bodily form). Immense responsibility comes from knowing this. The responsibility where in each and every situation - how one thinks, speaks and acts that exemplifying this knowing... something I work on... hopefully an eternal process.

In short form - being free is one thing. Imposing my freedom is another.

Regarding my first level of being - a 3D male, I found it completely true your analogy, ulli, the invader and the invaded, the active and the passive.

I was once with a woman (in the summer of 1989). We were all but into the final stages of a sexual act. All but the penetration. We had been together well over two hours and it was now time for the finale. She suddenly told me to stop. I did. I was slightly exasperated but only for a moment. Something within me knew that there was something here more important than anything else I could imagine. And that was not only having her permission, but having it continuously. I am certain I am not the common male but I can honestly state that that moment, I knew I had become a true man. A true example of a man I would hope my sons would be as well... and I have three.

It is why I adopted long ago the personal requirement of obtaining and maintaining permission to go sexual with any woman whether it be physically or within my own mental realm. It is my opinion that if all men adopted this one personal requirement, the entire world would instantly transform.

Love to All and have a Great Day - Chester

Ohhh I might add something I learned is considered an absolute truth by "true dragons" - a queen can be a queen alone, but a king cannot be a king without his queen.

I also was told by my wife Cristina that a marriage is this - "The man is the head and the woman is the spine." I found great wisdom in what she shared with me.

Now, I hope I did not get preachy here - my post is simply meant as a sharing of my experience and yes, an opinion or two thrown in.

Thoughts are private domain. Most people I meet are not even aware that this domain is their own little kingdom over which they have absolute territorial rights.
Establishing a personal philosophy would be a good start, but how to do that when there are billboards demanding that we all accept philosophies of others, even those which have proved again and again to lead nowhere.

Hi guys. Would love some reiki myself if somebody wouldn't mind. I booked a days holiday off work as I have lots to do but have woken up with a monstrous headache which I can't shift. Too shaky to reiki myself and am always receptive to outside help. Thanks in advance.

I don't necessarily absorb what I read, see, hear, etc. anymore. I get my answers from within and sometimes the within is transmitted to me through others and through the outer. I just accept that I am responsible for what I buy into. I still screw up all the time. I call it being perfect, perfectly imperfect. I make mistakes perfectly. This is why the group things works so well, not everyone is busy.
So there is always some help available from somewhere.
That's also why there is no need to feel disappointed and blame someone for not performing, or living up to one's expectation.

The longer that one is inside of or riding with or within another, the greater the impression of who they are, as this comes through the continual flow of their being, not the exploration of their history or what made it be. even then, the impressions are very general. In that space, no judgement may be possible, at least from this one,as we all carry issues and wounds, colorations, things that made us who we are. To carry some coloration or impart some reflected color or issue with what is within another... would reflect more on this one, than anything else. That such issue with what is found in another is all this one and not other.

we know this or try to live it in the 3d time based model, and it is fundamentally true in the dimensional level. It is a thing or thought or understanding in clarity that one can have or live in either. The point is, to this one, that any clarity that this one has can only serve to make the overlay or direct connection of another's avatar possible, as opposed to near impossible, if one was not clear of self and then in understanding of the mechanisms of the basic function of the avatar. Like a key being of the correct enough shape to match the functions involved.

Outside of that, then we can get to the basics of psychic connectivity where things are externalized and all warts can and tend to remain, as imagery worn and projected, and it is a simple wearing of what we see ourselves as, combined with what other's basic wiring can make of that, as far as impressions go. It is a double reflection. We get a reflection of ourselves and the world, that we build. Then the similar system of other, that interprets this mixture. this is probably connected to what the doctor meant, a few pages back, when he said it is all reflective energy.

Predators, as we call them, go for basic commonalities, with regard to attempting herding, as the avatar injects into these impressions while one is still immersed in the 3d matrix, as all of this has to pass in and out of the hindbrain of the avatar, while one is incarnated. That is their trick.... and our individual and collective issue. You can only be herded, or grouped in activities via the commonalities of avatar design, which at the base level, are fear, desire, and so on. You know this to be true in the 3d world, and in the dimensional world, while incarnated and utilizing an avatar, this will be true there, as well. It is the knowing of what is going on that makes all the difference. the fears and desires can also break concentration and conscious connection to control of situations in those realms, which is a big thing in their toolbox of tricks and methods.

We also do this on our own, for example, when in the impression of flying, in realms. We get excited and then break the channel via the avatar injected emotional overtone of the given excitement and the given excitement's emotional complexities, whatever they be. this is the why and the necessity of removing the given complex unconscious aspects of our individual creation, which was created throughout our youth and lives (and given genetic origins). Those autonomous aspects of bodily or avatar function to do work for us, in some ways, but they are programs that need to be cleared, if we do not want them to intrude on/in our access and work/motion/control of our given astral self in the given realms. Recall that the avatar is a doorway and a filter or set of programs that run autonomously (while incarnated). To remove our base issues from self is to give ourselves clear path in astral realms or dimensional spaces, while incarnated and connected to the avatar.

Thus, as we clear ourselves, the doorway and the energetics available to integrate with become bigger, more potent, more manifold, more complex, and more universal. If not, we are constricted into something resembling a form of an animal response/connection mode. In that case, we would be filtering ourselves through our unrealized complexities, not our clarity.

Once self knowing begins and the flaws in the self become apparent, and the denial of such flaws is suspended, a new phase begins, and is accompanied by emotions of guilt and shame. Other than getting stuck in those feelings there is really not much wrong with them, as they provide more fuel for the purging process.
What comes to mind here are the words of Groucho Marx:
"I don't wanna be a member of a club that will have me as a member."

So in the end, there's nothing to save... it is only the knowing of what is going on... and then what we think, speak (write) and do along the way? or is that adding nothing to something? I enjoy reflection. Good Post Carmody

"I don't wanna be a member of a club that will have me as a member." Interesting... but could that apply to a village? or even a forum? On the one hand I see Groucho's point and on the other hand I prefer not to be alone yet on the third hand I would like to "see the change I want it to be" and on the 4th hand I seek my cave. Quadra-polar perhaps?

just normal in your given complexities and views/filters. everyone has got some. there is no universal truth that encompasses all. commonalities, yes...but universal single state-allness? That would be really boring, to say the least.

Now... what I spoke on this one's understanding of overlay, and some other bits, which is the origins of the above post.

Consider the idea and reality of demonic or nasty 'possession'. Very specific types of possession and how they integrate with the given avatar. Does this make more sense now? nasty, brutish, and so on. The level and type of connection to the avatar. An intelligent and more open aspect/contact might not be of that type. Project fears to create and maintain fears to create the doorway and avenue for possession and to keep it up and running. The blood brother rite was also about sharing psychic connectivity. Drinking of blood? DNA connectivity, and so on. I tend to dream the deaths of the animals I consume, if I eat meat....

I've covered all of this before, on the forum, in other places.

I have had a very challenging 3 months.

Its been awesome and down right debilitating at times but now when i stand i feel the strength of ten men inside me.

I see the benefit of genders getting back to basics, i see the inference of original sin when the a sexual one was born into two. O how this shows me the plight of being sepperate, never have i understood so intensely the meaning of getting back to being One.

All you chauvenists and femminists go live together and re integrate, we need your example right now.

I just cant help but feel so full and beaming when i know what i can relate will help someone to feel that tiny bit better.

I was looking for this, as it is hard to find. The issue with parasites. And the ego-body. One and the same or not? The parasite is near identical to the ego body, so it can certainly hide very well. Distract from the issue at hand and make sure attention is elsewhere. Thus, clearing the ego can also clear parasites.

Is the parasite for real, or does the ego-body wish us to externalize and give itself more room, more capacity to remain hidden? Logically, if there be a parasite, the last thing it would want, is the clearing of the self.

Regardless, the path forward is the ego body taming. Which resulted in the strong attack on Scientology and ultimately it's twisting...for in it's original incarnation... it outlined a functional methodology to get there, to the one answer that was functional.

A friend expressed it to me this way. He said, consider that you reach a fork in the road. Down one side is a completely honest place, and down the other branch, is a place that the beings there, will lie in the face of any situation.

And at this crossroads, is a person. What is the one question you can ask that person, that tells you which way to go, to get to the honest place?

"Which way is home?", is the correct question, as the truthful one will point to home and the liar will point to 'not home'. Both pointing to the same place.

In the same way, you have to find the one action that clears both dilemmas. Which in this case, is the clearing of the self.

And i. . . well i cant help but think of my extended family :-)
so i canmot sleep ( that and i drank a can of V, silly ant man! Ugh )

We all write, we write beczuse inspiration and hope tells us to pass on a message. Everything we do here is helping us. Even those of you who arent even registered, yes you! Yeah i know you are there :-) , not sure if you want to be on the map yet? Either way is totally fine

I just cant help but feel so full and beaming when i know what i can relate will help someone to feel that tiny bit better.

Its all worth it

Thank you

Being of help can make one euphoric.
Once people know that helping someone in need works better than other intoxicants
and as long as they don't force their help on those who are not ready to receive it
it's a win-win situation and only good can come from it. Lets all drink to our HELP.

That quote refers to people in a given state of their development...
when they are split between the desire of mingling with the gods that run high society, yet know that they are not ready for such exclusive levels of existence, and therefore would ruin the exclusive atmosphere.

Hence you have the whole status scene of watches, cars, designer labels, cosmetic surgery, teeth whitening.
But it also applies to the world of the spiritual paths, the insider gossip about this Guru or that Guru is plenty of testimony to the same game being played there.
Inner circle cliques exist everywhere, all levels.
No matter how high someone climbs up that social ladder there is still another rung higher up.

In the 3d world that can mean that a man who has just spent $15 million on decorating the interior of his private Gulfstrem jet plane crashes into deep depression because he found out that some competitor spent $10 million more.
It's called dick measuring in that world.

...so this is not EXACLTY here & now (was yesterday), though I suspect something VERY similar is happening right this second :p

Hmmm...this is what I perceive,
Whereever angel sits or lies, Angel seems to be up against a barrier and looking towards the light
whether by the window or behind bars.
What does that say about me?

Hmmm...this is what I perceive,
Whereever angel sits or lies, Angel seems to be up against a barrier and looking towards the light
whether by the window or behind bars.
What does that say about me?

That's because she is my slav...I mean pet :p

Kidding...I think there's definitely something to it. I was thinking about the same thing when I received the pic!

But maybe this information will change that perception: the sliding glass door is a true barrier...she will not be allowed out of the house until I can trust her to not run away (out of fear of her being eaten, not out of attachment...if she shows she can survive as an outside bunny and needs to be there, well maybe I will reconsider).

Anywho: that barrier there is a methophorical one--she could jump it (& often does) if we didn't leave her a little zone to go in and out (which we do), it is just a little rodent pen to give her her own space from our "mother hen" hundred pound sheppard mix Summit (who can and does bend over to sniff and give kisses to his often annoyed friend--obviously if he wanted to, he could make short work of it, likes he does to doors that trap him inside when we have to confine him--he has attachment issues, but that is another story for a time when I get a chance to show off pics of him)

It's cool watching them interact, she is getting over her skittishness, and the gentle giant is starting to learn that not everybody needs to be herded to where he thinks they will be safe. So he gets the whole house, she gets that corner of the living room (at least for her food, litterbox, and space for herself--she gets behind that couch and just to the left is her recliner--to uncomfortable for humans but a perfect "hutch" for angel). She has made the doorway of that room another barrier for herself. She will come out and play, go hang out on her curtains by the glass door, and go right up to the threshold of the open space/doorway to the rest of the house when she smells something yummy (kitchen is next room over, she can smell basil from outside, I think).

So my thoughts were how domesticated animals are sooooo much like us. Imposing artiifcial borders, gaining a (false?) sense of security from (our own?) space, respecting these artficial constructs. I am fairly certain it would take her a loooong time to build up the courage to go outside even if we left the door open. She was kept in a cage I am pretty sure without ANY reprieve for her entire life, which may have been 2+ years, but was at least. It is has been so fun watching her warm up, to not only her space and freedom, but also the family (my girlfriend has 3 dughters--50% of the time, i have two boys full time...if you count Summy as my son, we have a full "bunch" ;) )

Anyway, that pic kills me...I still haven't seen her (or ANY rabbit) ever lay like that, she looks like a toy! My bunnies always kept their front legs in front of them...

And at this crossroads, is a person. What is the one question you can ask that person, that tells you which way to go, to get to the honest place?

"Which way is home?", is the correct question, as the truthful one will point to home and the liar will point to 'not home'. Both pointing to the same place.

I know that riddle, but slightly different.
There are two people at the crossroads, one a compulsive liar and the other a compulsive truth teller.
The question that produces the right answer if you don't know who is lying, or telling the truth is: "what would the other guy answer if I asked him which way is home?"
That way both come out with the truthful answer, as the liar would be compelled to twist the truth the truth teller would give.
You then choose the opposite road of the one they pointed at.
But maybe your example was even trickier, as far as trick questions go....

That's how my mind kept me pedaling until I was exhausted. The point was looking in the mirror, noting that I was still mentally pedaling, and nothing was happening. Obviously that's not the way..as it is an issue of time and nothing getting done, just the pedaling. Which leads to more pedaling.

My 'Pluto Square', as an act... was moving past it... via simply 'getting it done'.

Yeah, I got there...maybe it was Jorr that told me because the voice said "home is everywhere" and " all is well."
Or it was my very own thinking mechanism, as thinking is also my way out of whatever traps I find myself in.

Denying,
Reconciling.
Next....

The way to use the thinking mind is to go to option three, instead of being stuck in two.

Personally, I can accept borders as a protection shield one moment and as a cage the next.

And at this crossroads, is a person. What is the one question you can ask that person, that tells you which way to go, to get to the honest place?

In the same way, you have to find the one action that clears both dilemmas. Which in this case, is the clearing of the self.

The trouble is when it is not a 100% liar but a disinfo agent. What then?

And what happens when you get the two of them together? You might get something like the exchange between Socrates and Plato.

Yes, you understood perfectly.
Earlier this morning this idea came clearly into my head,
namely how to introduce the flow of time into this conversation.
The idea of the tides came to me, and how on a Monday we may see beyond the horizon as we are surfing high waves,
and on Tuesday the tide is out by the time we get to the beach and we are sitting on exposed sand, littered with driftwood, where before there had been surf breaking.
So with these shifting scenarios our own activity and movement is tempered.
This os where astrology comes in, with great explanations about the ebb and flow of time.
Can't urge people enough to read up on it as much as possible.

I think it is just that we are so easily programmable, in such subtle ways, that we don't realize.

The lil' bun was in a much different situation...a cage too small for it. It was both, for her. It kept her safe, but prevented any kind of life. I should have video taped her progression from the moment she experienced freedom to now, her growth was amazing.

I inadvertently put her in another one midway through. The girls had a problem with her pooping everywhere when her litter box filled (she fills it faster than the two buns I last had used to together, one was 10+ lbs!...that's prob cuz she was used to the sh!t food her sh!t owners used to give her, i started feeding her bunny food--aka vegetation, rather than just crunchy junk nuggets). I put her in the basement (with her [open] cage, for familiarity), thinking she would be happy having a HUGE zone. When I went down to get her the next morning, she had not moved. She spent the night in terror--of the air condtioner or the dank basement-ness, or the nasty shadow dude that we are working to get rid of...or some combo or something else entirely.

Point is, I never felt so horrible in a long long time. Fear is the cage. The alternative is love. I gave her tons and bunches after that. And when the girls found out, they adjusted their "fear" of lil veggie resin ball bunny poops...it was a good lesson to teach them (very materialistic, programmed by the worst of American culture), how other beings feelings trump every material thing any day. But even I, before I met my ex, probably would not have thought of it that way...we are taught that pets are our possessions (this is the gist of my "slave" bad joke I started with), and that if they eff up our real (read: purchased) possessions, they gotta go.

I had to be taught that animals' feelings count, and you "own" a pet, you are responsible for that. It seems so obvious, and prob is to almost everyone here, but I wonder how many of us were originally taught the psychopathic "ownership society" mentality of treatment of animals (ie- dog don't act right, eats your slippers or whatever, GIT RID OF IT!).

The letters of the Hebrew alphabet....
did anyone ever see the work of Stanley Tenen who in 1968 figured out how the origins of this alphabet had to do with sacred geometry and moving ribbons.
Unfortunately all of his work was stolen by one Dan Winter, who goes all over Europe giving seminars and presenting the work as his own, which in turn only serves to discredit the whole New Age movement further by muddying the waters.
We can't be vigilant enough in our investigation of truth.

GEOMETRIC METAPHORS OF LIFE

This incredible journey of scientific, religious and mathematical discovery was first released to the public in San Francisco in 1989. This groundbreaking lecture is available on our best selling DVD, Geometric Metaphors of Life. As a child my mind worked only in images and symbols. Some of our existing symbols lined up with what naturally occurred in my head before I knew those symbols as representations by man. An example is whenever I had to relate time within a "year" - the year had a shape,it was basically an "infinity" symbol and different parts of this symbol representing different "seasons" -- months and days were less important but had their general markers. Now that I think back the infinity symbol represented a continuous loop of the earth around the sun. So whenever I needed to consider "spring" - rather than some linguistic thought, my mind would spring forth this symbol of the year and highlight the "spring" section and place makers for months, roughly, as I didn't really understand the conventional calendar that well. This visual made much more sense to me.

Keep in mind I was very young when this started happening, like I said, I didn't really even understand the calendar that well at the time. I learned that afterward.

I am also brought to thinking that letters and words represent sounds -- not the other way around -- the sound is first, then the symbol that represents it. All is vibration and therefore the vibration of a word comes before the label, the words and letters themselves are the labels for the vibrations (at least that is how it started).

Bringing one more element to this train of thought -- the work of Dr. Emoto and water, and the vibrations that are symbolized by crystallizing the water to reveal the pattern of vibration which it holds. The vibration is the real element, the crystalline representation is the label.

All is tied together or is sourced from .. vibration.

2 cents ;)

Much as Francis Bacon, and a possible consortium of initiates, wrote the Shakespearian plays. Still haven't gone back to read those within that filter. Let us not forget that things are not always as they seem. Let us also remember that we are powerful, and that we all can make a difference.
This Village has been in training for more than a year, and the moment when our collective energy will have an impact might be getting near.
Do we want to direct our love and energy towards a peaceful outcome of the current crisis,
or are we allowing it t o be syphoned off by forces which may not have humanity's best interest at heart?
Callings for discernment here, as well as common sense.

This brought a memory of a dream I had the other night. It was short and very non-descript, but in the dream I was aware that it was almost time. Time for what? It was almost my turn. Like I said, it was non-descript, but my perception was that it was my turn to fulfill my purpose. And inside, I was pleased that finally my true purpose would be seen and appreciated. I have no idea what to think of this or how to translate it. But I thought it worth sharing. Any thoughts?

You really are a starchild then. Bless you. Maybe there is hope yet.

Hey donk, we have a big beautiful "garden bunny" - my new avatar - was unable to get pic to load. This gorgous girl was pushing up her hutch hatch in the night so she remained free range in the garden. We feed her and she also grazes. Just like a big cat she rubs up against my ankles as im hanging out the washing, waits at the back door for breakfast which she shares with the birds in the garden. Today is really hot so she has found a cool damp place to sleep.

Now 5 and a half years old she is settled, up until about 3 years ago she would burrow and we needed to watch this near the fences. We dont have a dog and when she first started staying out of her cage of a night cats would visit and occasionally chase her,i think she must think she actually is a cat herself because one day i looked outside to see her chase a cat to the back fence, since then rarely do we see a cat and no more chasing.

Our bunny is an absolute delight, though they generally do not like to be picked up if you sit on the ground or a big chair she will come and sit very close resting her feet on us and of an evening after ive been for a walk she comes and smells my shoes and even licks my ankles to "see" where ive been.

Aww that is awesome...beautiful bun, hope you get more pics up. I can never remember til playing around with it awhile how to get the forum to be able to see the pic right in my face! And I don't have the luxury of all the time and privacy in the world at work, where the only computer I like to use is (the family laptop is harder to get privacy...and dibs on).

Anyway, thanks for sharing, that was great. Reminded me of thumper, I'll have to get pics up, he was the alpha male
Of a pack of 4 dogs, used to nip the 70lb pit's back of the knee to get to his all meat crunchy brown nugget dog food, maybe I can post the vid if I can find it of the pathetic mutt getting dominated by woodland critter.

The trouble is when it is not a 100% liar but a disinfo agent. What then?

And what happens when you get the two of them together? You might get something like the exchange between Socrates and Plato.

Socrates says, What Plato is about to say is true. And Plato says, What Socrates has just said is false.

:)

Bringing perception into the mix, what does one see?
Heated discussion?
Two old bearded guys in a Turkish bath?
Circular argument?
There are no absolutes?
Or, how about:
lets not be distracted here...there are people messing with our heads.

I'll stay with the final one. Thanks araucaria, you are the true oracle.

After studying Plato, I had to entertain the thought Socrates was merely a character that Plato invented for his literature, and then go back and read the works through that filter: a modus operandi. Much as Francis Bacon, and a possible consortium of initiates, wrote the Shakespearian plays. Still haven't gone back to read those within that filter. Just don't have the time for Shakespeare these days..... Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong, but Socrates was not accounted for in any other record or literature other than Plato?

Socrates was a historical figure, who just did not leave any writings.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socrates

His disciples, except for Plato, were rather like Playdo in his hands :) It was Yes Socrates to this and Yes Socrates to that, and when a more elaborate answer was requested, Socrates still had all bases covered. No surprises, until, that is, perhaps, we come to Plato. Let me suggest a resolution to my paradox.

Einstein’s famous quote on problem-solving via an extra dimension suggests the paradoxical nature of any problem. Ulli suggests (on another subject) that we inject a time dimension. I agree. Here goes.

The paradox ‘The king is dead. Long live the king!’ seeks to make a seamless transition: there is only one king, but a succession of two men filling that function. A king may die, but kingship does not.

Here we have a succession of two kings of philosophy. After all the yes-men, Socrates has finally met his contradictor! He says Plato is going to say something that is true because I have lined him up to say what I want. But Plato is his own man and states that on one level, from Plato’s standpoint, the revered Socrates is talking rubbish! The king is dead. Long live the king! :)

There is a thread which was started by Bill Ryan a few days ago, where I just posted.
I have spent sevaral days explaining my motives here and was disappointed that I could not make myself understood.
Here now is my final summary, not only of the motives behind my recent actions, but what I came to this earth to do. I have no intention to return here, unless the current crisis in the Middle East as well as the crisis of world hunger, cruelty, abuse of women, children and animals is resolved. I believe this thread was invaded recently by forces that wish me harm. During the night we found a huge hairy spider in our bed, which I killed without hesitation, using my shoe. I don't normally kill spiders and my house is full of little webs in the rafters. But this one did not belong inside my house. So there are extraordinary times which require extraordinary measures.

Here is a link to the post I was referring to

Consider this...humanity is in a crisis.
You can make a difference, but need to let go of any distractions, including survival structures like business ventures. i just had to do the same when I was forced to give up my base in Barbados.
It's just for a little while...maybe a few months. There will not only be assistance, but even rewards for your patience....

My babe just mentioned last night this "lion" being showed up again in her insomnia last night.

The first time she described it, as a lion with medusa hair. It terrified her, but just chilled in our room.

This time she said she was not really scared, and felt it provided protection.

Sorry no more details right now, only texting in between working...just wanted to put it out there to see if anyone had any insight?

---she just told me...hair was not snakes...just real thick like dreads.

My oldest, when on the ranch in the PNW with his grandparents, attracted bats...they came in the house, and he had to ask them to go outside (which they did).

Also, toads appear at their house when he comes, and rarely when he's not there.

I tend to attract deer, we had out of towners (Ecudoreans) who were pretty into our foresty slice of the east coast suburban sprawl...when we were driving I just mentioned them and they got to see a family (of "bambis" as they called them) around the next bend.

...oh yeah, and Asian stinkbugs :p kind of a joke...they are invasive species, over-running our area.

and yet I save them all, with much ridicule from the native Costa Ricans who kill whatever little critter gets in their way.
Endless debates around here as I don't even want spray pesticides in the house.

Fortunately we don't have too many roaches.

Here is a picture of my wrist, after a spider bit me. This is several weeks later. That spider was tiny, and red. The infection grew and grew, until it was the shape of this heart.

I'd agree. Ben & Jerry's is a substitute for emotional digging, avoidance, reward, self-medicate, cover ups for sadness, anger, to name a few. And sometimes chocolate just plain tastes good.

Also, when one wants to loose weight their mates sabotage by provided goodies. Mostly, it's unconscious until one is conscious. Then I'd say, it's time for that mate to hav-a-look within.

These were some of my revelations about self-medication with B&J:

I discovered that every time I visited my siblings, I’d reward myself with Ben & Jerry's to de-stress. The ah-ha was the awareness of even when the visit was really, really fun, I'd stop at my favorite quick-shop place. Which served to cancel out the visit with guilt of downing the pint.

What I came away with was several layers of beliefs. Like unworthy of joy, or feelings of inadequacy, or undeserving of happiness. All of these things were compounded because my siblings have the same beliefs.

As a collective, these beliefs were reinforced by peer pressure to conform. It’s no one’s fault. It’s simply that we were not cognizant of it.

I’ve broken from the pack. Today, I visit with awareness of the internal dialogue, and allow it to go poof! And express what needs expressing.

With the ability to kick a$$ in so many ways, it’s mind boggling how I allowed (past-tense) a little pint of ice cream run the show.

I'm not much for spiders or snakes, although the Daddy Long Leg spiders and I have agreed to get along. :o

A current theme in my life is birds. There are thousands of them here in the forest and I have had 5 of them fly into my house in the last week -all Stellar Jays, Blue Jays (rare around here more of a north-eastern bird) or Blue Birds. Looks like I will have plenty of friends this Winter to keep me company.

The cat brought one of the little birds in and to my dismay I thought the cat had killed the little bird, but when I picked the bird up to see if there was any damage done and to take it outside, it flew away.

Just got into town, was out all day. Having musculature issues can't sit, can only walk or lie down in a specific way. I know what it is, having discussed all the way back in the car, from where I was at, with my friend, who just happened to be quite the decent expert on this subject of what I'm dealing with. basically... too much sitting. Without enough exercise. Like a muscle cramp on both sides of the leg, front and back. Just spent the last 3 hours in a car, having been forced to sit in the car, with muscles locked up the whole time. Yucky.

Astrology for the moment:

Jupiter Retrograde(Rx until January 30, 2013) October 4 16:23 Gemini 9:18 am est
Mercury conjunct Saturn October 5 Both in late Libra 5:44 am est
Mercury enters Scorpio October 5 00:00 Scorpio 6:35 am est
Saturn enters Scorpio October 5 00:00 Scorpio 4:34 pm est
Mercury Trine Neptune October 5 Mercury Scorpio, Neptune Pisces 6:06 pm est

Kinda explains the interesting forum behavior at the moment, and also the world, in general. But specifically the behavior of the forum, as this forum is full of members that are overall, compared to the general public, seemingly more sensitive to astrology than the average person. Not really true in some ways, but the sensitivities of the forum members is part of what has brought them here, which means it could be seen as being 'highlighted' on/with this forum and it's participants.

Hi WCBD,

Thank you for the interpretations.

The list of birds is long. I would need a bird book to define all of them. Different varieties of Finch, black birds, humming birds, wood peckers, blue birds, sea gulls, hawks, crows, buzzards a Golden Eagle now and again. The list could go on forever. They are congregating in this little valley and quite noisily too. Bird chatter, meeps and peeps morning till night and then the night hawks and owls start....

I asked him about one of his favorite authors, Philip K. Dick, because he came up in the 7th Seal Peter Moon book. We talked about the suicide pattern (Philip committed suicide), the Total Recall/Blade Runner connection to military or MKUltra crap, the divine "madness" of Philip etc. The next night we talked about another subject that lead around to the deliberate destruction of humans and the earth ...

Heavens. I suspect you have something to do with this Astrid. ;) <tackling Astrid with thankfulness and joy, just call me a big galumphy friend of Louis>

This gif shows what happens when two disc galaxies merge...
how new worlds emerge after the initial clash (or dance...whichever way you want to look at it):

http://irfu.cea.fr/Images/astImg/1384_5.gif

Im trying to stir this process at the thread level, trusting the ultimate outcome.
Some of us can see it will work, others have reservations as they are still attached to a variety of different models,
whether student_teacher, or everyone totally equal...some want anarchy, others (few) top down hierarchy.

What this thread is about only I as thread owner can define:
and some have already seen my model and believe in it, hence they have offered to support this venture.

Basically two ideologies are being blended here...merging just like these two disc galaxies.

Vertical Hierarchy with ulli as thread owner...or Village Mayor
and Horizontal Equality with ulli as simple Villager.
Anyone who wants either one without the other
or wants to remove me completely (not unheard of historically)
needs to form or find another thread on this vast forum.

Astrid,

This kinda looks like the "Angel Oak (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Oak)" (the species is called "Live Oak") in South Carolina. Where is this stunningly magnificent tree?

The beginning and middle stages of emergent clarity tend to drift toward feeling like insanity of a sort. Ie, the bigger the birth the more hectic and crazy the time in and of it's prelude. I don't recall it ever being any other way.

That is the thing about clarity, you see sh1t you never noticed before and it has to be integrated ...

It is a shame language and left brain processing require separating what is essentially one quality subsumed within the other. Healthy hierarchy has the aristocracy as a necessary part of a functioning whole where the system is in symbiosis, each with a designated, essential role. Control, more correctly establishing what is the conceived norm, of the situation only as the need arises. Unlike the private property tyranny of modern planetary management, this forum allows for disgruntled citizens to resettle, very easily. The Three of Wands

In this important time of change, I am prompted to share this, from Angelpaths:

http://projectavalon.net/forum4/attachment.php?attachmentid=18291&d=1348094996

This card - Lord of Virtue - represents a point of inner balance where we are clear about the things we want to create in our lives, and confident in our ability to make our dreams come true. Out of this clarity and confidence arises a new quality of self-reliance and happiness.

We develop a new understanding of our virtues, our skills, our talents; we have a better view of what we have to offer and what we need in return. We become more aware of ourselves, and more in harmony with the Powers of Light.

When this card comes up in your reading, it is important that you cast aside doubts and fears, refusing to fall back into old habits. Instead you must turn your face to the future, trusting in your own power, making no compromises. Trust yourself, and everything else will fall into place

Listening to the song of the forest and watching the golden shimmering light shine through the trees on a warm still morning.

Reminding my-self that I may have to duck as the in coming energies may not
be well received by some.

Take care of myself and pay attention to my own processes and transformations.

Lately, I have literally watched people's hair stand on end; react in fear and fight any transformation occurring within themselves.

@Dennis a synchronisty over the last few months I have been having dreams and receiving messages of water falls & horses. Now I am seeing them manifest in pictures and people have been sharing with me their old photographs of waterfalls in different geographical locations they have visited through the years.

It's a question of experience and dedication for those who wish to impart their vision,

So the attitude towards rules needs to be examined here...

What is in a word? A buttload of emotional triggers.

Rules? :bad: Ways? That 'feels' better.

Torah vs. Tao. I take the Tao.

Like a key structure in music, certain notes are dissonant. It is about vibrations. Nature and the Universe do not have rules, they have ways. The so called "laws of physics" are simply a codification of the ways of physics as observed. The Universe is in/at play. The rules of a game are simply to give the play some form. They are, more correctly, the ways of the game.

Why this short discourse on nomenclature? Mere semantics, no?

No! The emotional body is the primary filter for much of the planet. Words must pass through this filter, and few make it through untwisted. Disempowerment looks for anyplace to exert some impact on the world.

Ulli, it's that balance of individual ights vs. community rights. Tipped too much either way, it falls over.

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

Nora, please take care of yourself. You are in my prayers.

Sierra, your kitty cats are so fuzzy-adorable. I thought of getting Emily one of those carpeted climbing trees, but then i thought, she wouldn't be interested, she has a bunch of trees outdoors to play in ... maybe in the winter, she might come in more. I'm finding she's not a lap cat, but will permit me to hold her for a minute and stroke her fur. Then she's off again, for a solitary nap on the blankets or a hunt in the woods.

Astrid, what a gorgeous tree. We may all be in love with it! I'm waiting for the answer to Dennis' question, what is it?

Donk, what are some of the movies based on PKD's works? I've meant to read his works but haven't yet.

I must go find Tom Lescher's Pele report.

Ulli, post #93: "They are manifesting material to write about."

Sure, but I find writing material to manifest is much more interesting :)

One day you will tell me how you discovered this, because it is true.
Life-changing and empowering breakthrough for me.
After I discovered that's how everything works once the inner life is integrated
I started meeting others who could do it, too.
Actually, Avalon is full of such people which is why I'm still here.
Never a dull moment.

Before I answer, Ulli, let me just give a couple of examples of how on this very thread you do this by stepping out of time. Writing involves not just retrovision but also precognition, and so do a lot of other activities, but usually we don’t even notice. ‘Creating your future’ is just a time reversal of precognition.

Take a musical conductor: he is always ahead of the beat. How? Because he knows the piece by heart, and has rehearsed it with the orchestra. He knows what’s coming next and what is half an hour down the line as well. Here is Ulli conducting her orchestra
(old examples already I’m afraid, subsequently confirmed however, see page 1000):

a) I (Ulli) am going to play bars 18999 to 19001 (=post numbers) myself but someone may just pipe up in the middle. They usually do, and there is always room for creative improvisation.

b) Araucaria is due to chime in soon: I’ll catch his eye and let him know I’m ready for his utopian vision.

The How is a little-explored matter of literary theory. Let me explain. I am talking about what is called fiction, but such notions will get a little confused as I turn them around.

“Manifesting material to write about” is the traditional approach of realism: you “represent” a world that already exists, or at least could; likewise you “express” a pre-existent self. Your actual writing is transparent with respect to these entities. The experimental French ‘new novel’ (nouveau roman) of the 30 postwar years reverses this process of expression/representation, seeing writing as a production process that takes you somewhere new – very close, although from an entirely different perspective, to the slogan “be the change you want to see”. The pithy formula here is “not writing up an adventure, but writing as an adventure” (Jean Ricardou) - alternatively, you have the jokey ‘How can I know what I think until I see what I say?’ However, people were soon back to the normal fare, if they had ever strayed away from it. Nearly all fiction today is in story-telling mode, and I would add, those using story-telling mode for supposedly factual accounts are also in the business of fiction, i.e. lies.
Take a contemporary fiction: the official 911 story. As Judy Woods points out, the correct investigative evidence-producing procedure has been reversed. Instead of building up a picture, to find out what happened, how, who and finally why, we got the authorities explaining from the outset what the report was going to find, namely emphatically why and definitely who, vaguely how and not at all what happened. Pure fiction.
The subversive method of the nouveau roman typically involves combining an investigative process of the type that can lead to the truth and traditional story-telling mode. A good example is Les Gommes (The Erasers, 1953), a novel by Robbe-Grillet (who wrote the screenplay for the Resnais movie Last Year in Marienbad). A detective is called in to investigate a murder the previous evening. He conducts his inquiry, leading to the conclusion late in the day that the victim is actually alive. He meets the “victim” in circumstances that cause him to shoot him. The murder has taken place exactly as announced, but exactly 24 hours later, and the detective has been investigating his own crime, seen as an outcome rather than as a given.

This story is antirealistic because any correspondence with real-world events would need to invoke the paranormal, which is of course off-limits. It is also antirealist because it shows the workings of the realist novel to be absurd. The circular tale reveals the circular argument of realism. The storyline as a tautological given is not workable. The killer does not exist until found, he is not who he was yesterday. Nothing has happened until it is written, in the here and now. Allusions to the Oedipus myth point to realism being at best disastrous self-fulfilling prophecy. But worse than that, fiction is downright dishonest, because while saying that something might have happened like this, it demonstrates how it simply cannot have been so.

We have an extreme example, incidentally, in the Martin Amis novel Time’s Arrow – traditional story-telling, except that it is done backwards, from death to conception. He presents a Nazi doctor as an effective humanitarian, since his patients arrive dead or dying and end up walking out of hospital fully fit and well. A fine example of the power of writing to distort the truth, and the importance of the handling of the time dimension in this. Interestingly however, the book finishes on a moral note, as this ‘evil’ character ends up disappearing into the perceived nothingness of the instant preceding conception. For me the moral here is rather that there is no existence for ‘preconception’, no truth to preconceptions.

Another example is Michel Butor’s L’Emploi du temps (Passing Time, 1954), in which the narrator undertakes to write a diary covering 12 months over the final 5 months of that same period (i.e. story-telling plus investigation). The process leads to superimposing more and more timelines, and after he comes to the point when he started the diary, his writing gradually becomes its main subject, hence while attempting to understand what is happening to him, he is also missing out on the very events he is trying to explain. Eventually he runs out of time before he can describe the major events of Feb 29th. Another time warp. Looking back, there was an important extra (leap) day. Looking forward, it can no longer be written up. In the here and now, it just doesn’t happen. What you see is what you get; this is the truth of creative writing, which is the opposite of conventional fiction.
Take another new novel, La Modification (Second Thoughts, 1956) also by Butor. The narrator is on the train from Paris to Rome, he is leaving his wife to join his lover. His musings on the way gradually lead to a reversal: he realizes he is making a mistake and by the time he arrives, he is ready to jump on the first train back home. After a few hours in the here & now, he discovers he has been living a lie.

This movement did not last, but it had a few precursors, notably an 18th century experimental novel, Tristram Shandy, by Laurence Sterne. The narrator starts with his own conception, stating that his parents must have forgotten to wind up the clock that night! We indeed enter a time warp, as the subsequent story of his life never really gets going, with digression upon digression and even a digression on the subject of digressions! Writing in the here and now. At one stage, he tells his lady reader to go back and check a previous chapter while he carries on. At another he says, if you can guess what’s coming on the next page, I’ll gladly tear it out of my book. It is a blank page. He knows the next page is blank because in the here and now… he hasn’t written on it yet!
:)

To me the Here and Now of 2012 is similar to the earlier fairy tales.

Exploration of time as that which would have been considered as absurd now can be created by the word BE.

Equally that which brings relief and even delight can be created with the word BE.

Magic wands are lying around all over the place if only you know hw to look.

Genies are in all those bottles littering the streets, if only one is willing to pick them up and let the genie out.
