That same Canadian company were applying for the concession to extract gold in Costa Rica during the Oscar Arias administration, and were allowed to go ahead. Once they started chopping down the rainforest like crazy local environmentalists became active and fought until the concession was revoked. That's when they went to the other Orosi, the one in Nicaragua..
They are still receiving taxpayer money from the Costa Rican government as compensation for getting kicked out before they even started.

Meanwhile our quebrador was already here, extracting rocks, gravel, sand. He is one of our government's major suppliers for road construction materials. Which doesn't mean that he isn't doing a clandestine gold extraction operation.
What we do know is that he wanted to be allowed to move upstream towards the Tapanti National Park which is 6 miles past the town of Orosi, which would have meant that all those trucks would be driving up and down Main Street.
And because of the protests this has so far not been achieved. But his desire to go further upstream is now making me suspicious as a) if he were only after rocks, gravel and sand there is plenty where he is now, and b) the access to the main Central Valley is easier from where he is now.

So the only reason to go upstream has to be because the gold concentration is higher there, which everyone here knows.
I still have a tiny bottle full of gold flakes which I picked out of the river myself, one day when I was overtaken by gold fever. That experience of gold rush fever was quite powerful; it felt like a spirit had taken possession of me. Quite ugly, come to think of it. Exciting, though.

We even thought, hey, let's do a gold tourism kind of thing and bring people here and take them along the trecks through the coffee fields to where they can sit in the river's hot spring pools with their little sieves for a couple of days. Sell them gold rush addiction, haha...but maybe then they would never leave...so better not.

I never went back there...didn't think it was a healthy feeling.
What this valley will become known for in future is the thermal waters.
This is its real potential, the healing aspect of these waters...so rich in minerals. Much more than the gold. We live in a great place here that must be allowed to remain as natural as possible.

That Orosi company information seems like it might fit, doesn't it Ulli? I mean, no one in your area knows the real reason this guy is pouring so much money into this operation, or where he got his oodles of money, which reeks of clandestine operations. Otherwise, is this the only place a person could get plain gravel for road construction?

This morning there is a heavy blanket of fog, I love fog. Well, unless it is in my head, chuckle. MamaDog and Devin have had their first adventure for the day, and Mama is itching to go back in to her puppies. They are a week old now, eyes not open yet but ears are opening. They are scooting all over the place. It's nice that they aren't whining and squeaking so much, I identified the source of that irritation. They were in a box, and I had to give them some room. As far as newborn puppies go, they are big in size. They ran out of room the moment they learned to wiggle...which was all of about two days. I took a huge box we had and slit the sides, making them a 6'x6' area. Now they have room to learn to walk, and that must be quickly approaching because they are rolling over and can move the whole 6' if they want their Mama. At the rate they are growing, they will surpass Mama's size in a few months. That's my prediction. This week I will find that phone number for the rescue place and soon I will deliver them fat little puppies ready to bring giggles of delight :) Looks like the Daddy was a stray Akita, I'm sure not full-blooded.

I know I shared how this happened for Em a while back, but... I have seen the similarities or the parallels in the way things are unfolding for her and the way they unfold for me. I am wondering, after reading your thoughts Rocky, if maybe I see only the similarities and not the whole picture. What you said resonates true, that her mind isn't in it. No wonder she can keep A's and B's and not really do much (certainly not what is being asked of her.)

The way she found out she identifies with anything in the "magic" area is thanks to a girl at school, an "open-minded Christian" (chuckle). Since we have lived here less than a year, we are "new" around here. All the kids, being brainwashed toward fundamentalist beliefs, think that we should be going to church. So, when the conversation came up, that's when Em explained she doesn't believe in God the way they do. At this point, she hadn't looked in to any belief systems, so did not identify with wiccan beliefs. She did understand the concept of reiki, and so told the kids at school that everything is or has energy and that it is the same life energy in all things. Well, to her surprise, this open-minded girl told Em she believed in witchcraft. The girl told Em to come home and google witchcraft and see. (All this is unbeknownst to me until later in the evening.) Em did google it, and came to me after letting it sit with her for awhile and her eyes were as big as pie plates. She had an awakening of sorts, as most of the wiccan traditions and beliefs resonated so strongly with her that she was flying high. Well, that catapulted her into everything magical...and things started to make some kind of sense to her that I didn't even know were going on.

She was so excited at the connection, I had to hurry up and do some reaching out to a certain wizard I know so that I could at least steer her in the right direction, chuckle. As far as God or Source, right now she identifies with a female and a male pair, since everything in nature has a female and male pair. That is when we found the book, and at least I persuaded her to put a book cover on it. Only one person asked about it, and she hem-hawed so she wouldn't have to spill the beans. An avid reader, this one, reading 1,000 page novels in a weekend. So, nothing odd about having her nose in a book at school. She couldn't leave that book, lol.

She has dreams with dragons, dreams where she is a shapeshifter, dreams that have "told her" her power animal is a fox. (She would rather sit and make everyone belly laugh until they cry than discuss her inner thoughts, so this was all unexpected for me.) She is drawn to healing stones, candles and incense...really, all things spiritual. But as I said, she is a child when I compare her to her very street-wise older sisters who lost their innocence young, both of them. So, I found Em outside climbing a maple tree (which she is allergic to) gathering amber for some spell or other, and found myself trying to guide her in understanding the basics before she goes off the deep end with spells and such. I was reminded to let her be, that she has her own very powerful guides and protection, and the best I could do for her at that time was impress how important it is, more important than anything she ever finds, to follow her intuition. If something feels funny, go the other direction. (And, lordy, did I have to deal with her Dad...here she was excited she had found who she was, and was excited bubbling forth about things that scared him to death.)

Zoe, I know the mainstream knowledge holds that there are only three levels of reiki, those Usui levels. That is true, but there are more levels of reiki beyond Usui as PurpleLama has taught me. (PL, jump in if I do not know this justice or if you want to clarify anything or correct anything here.) What I learned going through the levels, and I had to ask a ton of questions, is that one's own energy can be used to heal. What I may have done before I found the reiki attunements is used my own energy for healing without knowing I was expending it. Being opened up with attunements allows the energy of Source to be channeled (sorry, I don't like that word but it fits), thus no expenditure of one own's energy. That is why the attunements are on the table for Em. I know that I have done mySelf a disservice pouring out my own energy, in many extreme circumstances that are documented all over the Here and Now) because I left myself exhausted. I thought this constant exhaustion was a physical problem of some sort, and I suppose there were/are physical factors, but I know that much of this is because of the energy I was releasing, and not holding any back for myself. I don't have too many suggestions in the H&N because I sit in awe of the advanced nature of everyone's knowledge and experience, but I will say from my own experience in my own life, Em will get an attunement so she doesn't end up doing what I did. She is ready, it is a matter of me getting my sh*t together.

And yes, Rocky, I think it does all boil away to what I deem important. That is difficult to hear, and difficult to come to terms with. I find myself reminding Mike all the time that you do what you deem important. If there are many important tasks at hand, a person chooses the most important in their estimation. So, for example, there may be two very important tasks at hand, one involving family and one involving work, and the one chosen is the more important of the two for that person. It is easier to see the choices someone else makes than those choices I make in an objective way. I choose every day, we all do really. My choices involve 3D life and/or practicing, studying, connecting, etc., etc. When, over a period of a week let's say, I have chosen catching up on housework and laundry and/or rest, well the other stuff is not chosen. And vice versa. Again, as has been the pattern in my entire adult life, it appears I am off balance.

Yes, this is my thought this morning as I woke. I typed the below up ...before I had any other info, just the dirt being moved. Then I decided to go back and see if there was more information.

This guy can't do what he is doing. Not if everyone knows.

but finding the city of Gideon, knowing it was close to this location does mean there is a strong vortex in the area, and mining minerals could be to find special minerals that help in psychic communications. the PTB might want to build their own vortex as a temple.

It still won't help them they'll never have the strength of this village.

I'm at the point where i understand that the manufacturing of any given atomic structure is possible, so I don't care about mineral resources.

At all. it's meaningles and destructive for no reason.

thus all 'accumulate to stay alive' processes have died off. That pressure is gone, or at least the potential for it to form, is gone.

As for the world public stage, we are probably less than 10 years from the same, as public knowledge of such goes.

This is a very potent area of energetic manipulation (scientifically and otherwise), so it goes hand in hand with human growth.

The problem here, is that this 'need for minerals' ends and is shown to be a falsification. Went to the chiropractor this morning and my, my what a healing. Was able to access so much more 'unresolved wounding' deeper still beneath the surface.

I am so grateful to be awake and aware.

I was also able to 'teach' my buddy the chiropractor, Vinnie, about more profound contact.

We teach each other. I may do a healing on him next week. Barbara Brennan style.

It is wonderful to continue on this journey, discovering who I really am...as we go along.

My daughter had a visit from the spirit she saw yesterday. This time it came to her in a dream.

Haven't even listened to that Beatles song in ages, yet been singing it in my mind all morning.

Anyway, we went to the farmer's market and on the way I took a few pictures.
Also talked to a few people about that business. It is actually owned by Holcim,
who also own a local cement factory here.
The reason, apparently, that they invested in that many trucks
is because they know their days are numbered and they want to grab as much gravel as they can...

sorry I missed this earlier, been on and off quick all day, the little girl's spirit can cross over without her body being found, tell her it's ok, we'll get her justice...

I had a feeling with you getting into the cases out there that the spirits would be drawn to your children.

Here's the bit in the article that sent my intuition flying..."Superintendent Ian John told reporters that the "dynamics of the search have changed" and that only specialist teams would now be involved." Maybe there's some highly classified information regarding some highly classified people. Maybe a cap needs to be put on the number of people that know and that a perception salve can be quickly disseminated so that the full truth is not revealed to the public at large.

It's possible that overconfidence from some PTW that is used to getting away with such things made them sloppy and the full truth is about to be revealed anyway.

My reaction to the field and the ditch was contaminated by reading the other day that the Battle of Hastings may have taken place on a different hill than 'Battle Hill', and that the proof would be the 10,000 dead who had probably been rolled down the field and buried in the ditch at the bottom.

If the little girl is still alive, the geographical indication would only be a clue to her surroundings, presumably hidden in a house somewhere? Would it be what she can see out of the window?

Haven't quite finished watching Astrid's Tiny House documentary yet, but would like to share some thoughts about my life style here in this mountain valley in central Costa Rica.
Living spaces is one of my favorite topics, and since I have moved so many times (45) in my life the experience has been vast, it ranged from a shared bed-sitter in central London to huge country mansion with 4 cared park as a garden in South England, a four floor house on a cliff in Barbados with its own private beach, and now finally settling in two run down holiday cabins which belong to my father-in-law, and which will one day be passed via inheritance to my brother-in-law, and to whom we are currently paying rent.

We have an enormous amount of living space, but both bathrooms are rather tiny, and the kitchen is small, but then again, there are two kitchens, with the second one being used as a storage area.

What was formerly green area between the two cabins now has a partial roof and cement floor, which we painted with a rust colored ocre paint, and waxed. That is the entertainment area...living and dining.
Our living space is now is nearly 3000 feet. The laundry room was once a garage, which means a tiny house could fit into that space alone.

We are paying less than $400 in rent, which is why we could afford to spend some money on refurbishing. I have never lived at any address as long as I have lived here, over five years already.
Meanwhile we have two acres of land of our own next door with river front, and we have been landscaping it. It took several years to get it measured and registered in our name. For a while we had two horses on the land which we sold, so that the landscaping could begin.

Now we have arrived at the point of decision, decision, decision. How to proceed.
Build ourselves a tiny cottage and several guest cabins to run as a bed-and-breakfast operation, or build several 2 bedroom homes to rent out long term, to have some income in old age. Im not entitled to getting social security from neither one of the four countries I have lived in. So it's a matter of figuring out my future livelihood, and deciding.

My head is buzzing with all the possible future timelines which have been presented here at Avalon, as well as my own hopes and fears speculations.
Right now I have Saturn squaring my natal Mars...the negative side of this is lack of physical energy, but good for making strategy. Saturn rules structure, construction, building, as well as strategies and planning....
which has been my focus for a few days now. I really enjoyed looking at those yurt websites, and now the tiny house documentary.

well I always let the children know that don't want to let go that they can go to Nirvana play with other children and not be alone, in 5 months to have only spoke to one isn't helping as much as going where Spirits gather while we are dreaming.

Medium and Ghost whisperers are great at sharing a concept, but the truth is much less scary.

many spirits don't leave because they think they are attached to the vessel, but that isn't true...

just show them the light and ask them to look through and you'll see every one of them smile and step across.

She just wanted to know someone knew she was out there, now we do.

Have been exposing too much, too stimulated so I thought I would keep to myself a bit. Pull myself in, as it were.

But then, Em came to me all excited to show me something she was in her room doing. She is channeling the energy from her lamp into her hands, making a ball of light/energy. And, she is actually succeeding with this. This show of what she can do led to visiting about some things, mainly she has been explaining to me all about Chi...what it is, how to access it, etc. I have been sitting silently listening in disbelief. I know it is true, I know she understands it, and it is amazing. She then explained to me that we have different embodiments in different dimensions, each dimension having a color, and that we are complete when we have connected all the colors.

Woah.

Then she told me about her "dream" last night, which I highly doubt was "just" a dream. She started by telling me she kicked some gooey butt in her dream. Which, of course, heightened my awareness of what she was telling me. Apparently, there were green-like, gooey spirit type beings trying to "haunt" or bother in some way all of our family. She says that she could not comprehend the forms we took, she said each of us was glowy and without a definite shape. So, she called us "crows" because she the shape or form was unfamiliar to her. We were all similar, except Little One who was gold.

She saw the first entity, and it scared her for a moment. Then she decided she would fight against it, pulled a knife from her boot, raised her hand and in one movement downward, sliced it in half. The inside was a green goo substance which dissipated immediately.

The entities tried to hide from her by taking the shape of cats (sorry, guys lol), and she saw what they were and proceeded to kick each goo-butt.

At the end, she picked up Little One and was holding him as he was crying, and all this light began to emanate from her. She said it was so cool.

Louis is not well, the glands in his neck are very enlarged, i have only just discovered this,

The puppies are toddling! Oh, they are too cute... unsteady, wobbly, but they get to where they are going on their feet. And they are beginning to open their eyes, and startle at loud noises. It's quite enjoyable to watch this process, gives the spirit a lift when needed :) Em's chosen companion is Milk Dud. M and Jessica have chosen "twins", Karma and Carmen. Little One has been drawn to the biggest of them all, black and white male, who he named Hank. As I do the math, I am curiously left with 2+2=4, rather than 1+1=2. Em + M = 2. Two puppies. And have I ever been able to say no to Little One? (Actually I can and do say no, but after all it is fun being a Grandma.) I may have to raise Hank for a few months until Peanut and Mr. Right have found a house rather than an apartment. And then there's Jessica and this puppy, Karma. (I was kind of surprised at her choice of name.) Jessica's 13 year old dog will have to be released from her old body soon, so M has consented to care for the puppy for a few months. Mr. Black (obviously a rott), Buster Brown, and the other set of twins will accompany Mama to new homes. This almost made Em cry, but I told her how much we will enjoy visualizing four children being given a face full of licks on Christmas morning. That's what I choose for these puppies :) And Mama will not be a puppy factory any more. She will make a perfect outside farm dog...that is, for someone who does not have puppies and another adult dog (me!). Right after Thanksgiving, I think, we will deliver them to their new lives full of possibility and promise and opportunities to be lifelong buddies.

And Peanut...getting married on a tractor? What a hoot!!!!! After I shook off the initial shock of it, I have adjusted to the idea, and will have fun with it. I might have until next summer. It is exhilarating to throw away caring about appearances, that's my wisdom for the day :)

About Romney being a Mormon...today I saw a clip of him as he was campaigning. I heard him say (not verbatim) that marriage is only to be between a man and a woman. However, two people of the same gender may live together, have a loving relationship, and adopt children. He said this is the case in his state.

That should get him ex-communicated, to my knowledge.

Of course, the reporter spoke with the PR man for the LDS organization, who said that the church remains neutral in political matters and takes the road of not discussing the candidates, etc. He did reiterate, though, that any gay relationship whatsoever is against the Church. They offer counseling should anyone have those tendencies.

Give Me A Break...I'm sorry, but Romney gives me the heebie-jeebies...

What a different world it would be if we were simply authentic and congruent human beings.

It’s not yet clear why or when the springs dried up, but geological experts will be investigating what may have happened in the days to come, Gladstone said. Some locals on Haida Gwaii say the hot springs have disappeared in the past after an earthquake, only to reappear a couple of years later. UBC seismologist Michael Bostock said that once the underlying plates start grinding again, stresses in the fault line are likely to build up in the same locations. “When the earthquake struck last weekend, openings along the fault line changed and the fracture that resulted in hot springs was likely closed.” He said he can’t be certain the hot springs will return, but “it seems like a good bet, given the way that things have behaved in the past.” It was the largest quake recorded in Canada in 60 years and struck just off the coast of Haida Gwaii. Exactly. Me too. Feeling the crunch. My head is hurting, and I'm trying to counter this with taking deep breaths and some half hearted praying.
Still not sure if this is just my own planetary transits which are pretty rough right now, or if I'm picking up the collective sense of confusion, which is a result of carefully manufactured memes, coupled with carefully manufactured disasters.

Beyond all the current chaotic swirling there is a sense of the gentle yet majestic presence of the One who knows all, who has His finger on the pulse of mankind as well as the animal and plant and mineral kingdoms, and who will monitor the healing process. There is great love emanating from Him. He manages the most distant galaxies as well as the subatomic worlds.
His presence and nearness is now all I need to remember.

This letter is now known as the Tablet of Ahmad.

Returning to Persia, he travelled extensively as a teacher of the Cause and led many Bábis to recognize 'Him Whom God shall make manifest'. As proof of the power and authority of Bahá'u'lláh, he carried with him the original Tablet of Ahmad, written in Bahá'u'lláh's own hand. Ahmad passed away at the age of 100 in the year 1902.

Surgery has been a success.The Doctors estimated 4 to 5 hours. It lasted three and a half. He is now in intensive care unit.

My 83 year-old father-in-law had his Toyota 4 Runner stolen from him...
was told at gunpoint to get out when he let a prospective buyer come for a test drive.
No insurance...
He just went out and got another car, still enjoying life.
Money means freedom.

They want to bring a gun to a fight like that, then up the ante, to clarify the situation.

I have lived in several areas of the United States. I have never counted the moves, but I doubt I would be up there with you, Ulli. Still, sometimes I have these momentary lapses where I have to remember where I am, the surroundings being so similar... This happened just now when watching this video, and it had nothing to do with the cat. The lady newscaster is Carole Lambert, who I grew up watching on the local news in Tulsa. Freaked me out for a second...

We have this little medical center in our sleepy town.
Our former massage therapist left when her daughter had twins.
She is helping raising those babies in another town. We then got a young physiotherapist
who is an Aries, and excellent. I'm having weekly treatments now.
Then two weeks ago another tenant took an office...
(only three empty units left now)
And she is a college leaver psychologist. So I thought, what the heck...
I'll get an appointment to see how she is.
She needs help getting started. And I need help to access my repressed grief for being an orphan.
My father died 32 years ago, and my mother died in 2006...and sometimes I feel so bad for having no close family.

I must admit I didn't feel compelled to get psycho therapy for the usual reasons.
Therapy is a luxury I can afford now as I recently gave up the greater expense of those Barbados trip.

First time with a .22, a frog blown into two pieces. Never shot at any living thing again. I am a decent shot and like shooting.

Well, it took this MS boy more than once, but I'd not shoot at a living thing for anything but hunger in my adult life. I do have guns, and I like to shoot, but I haven't shot a living thing since my early teens.

Here and now - starving... why? because on Monday morning I began my Dr. Schulze 30 Day Detox which requires me to eat nothing but fruit juices, vegetable juices, and a raw food diet (no meat at all whatsoever). I am 55, stuck in my ways and to be honest this is not easy. But in being honest, the way I was starting to feel physically was worse than I am feeling now. I am determined to make it through this 30 days.

I will state the reasons I went on this detox/diet in order of priority

I was feeling consistently terrible physically.

I conclude I am riddled with parasites.

I conclude my blood is invaded by fungus (as I saw my blood under a microscope which revealed this fact to me).

That the only way to kill such a severe infestation is to starve "it" to death and to do that, one must be perfect in their diet (there can be zero exceptions).

I believe a switch in my diet (if I can do so for the long term) is wiser for the health of my physical body and can extend my physical body's life.

I have developed an ethical issue about eating animals (and this includes fish).

I have discovered Gnostics who informed me that the historical true Gnostic was vegan.

Do not take my last sentence to imply I am a Gnostic. I respect true Gnostics but I do not do any religion at all whatsoever nor do I follow any one tradition.

Anyways, Here and Now I wish I had some "bad" food. Fortunately, I do not.

Careful, Chester...eating healthy can be a life changer. Once you begin to feel better, have more energy and find yourself in a much better mood at all times...well, you'll no longer want those things that you now think taste good.

I use a terminator zapper on occasion for parasites...I find when I get a bit sluggish, I'll zap overnight and wake up in feeling better in the morning...and staying away from acidic foods will help with any fungus that may be present.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results after your 30 days.

Had breakfast with my very right wing father this morning (he recently had a birthday too spending some time with him & baked him a birthday cake). He's a Scorpio and I'm a Leo -with 6 planets in fire. So you can imagine the direction the conversation lead. He's a veteran and lived through the dust bowl in 1930's Oklahoma-Grapes of Wrath. I patiently listened to his political views and which I'm sure he is quite patient with his spirit and nature loving daughter.

Driving the way back home finally the conversation turned toward some common ground. He asked me where all of the birds and animals in the upper meadows disappeared to. I said to him that it was wild game and bow hunting season in the upper parts of the forest so the birds and animals are all hiding in the remote lower valleys where the tree are thicker.... -can't hunt in there. Just as I said that a young Mountain Lion, a little smaller than these two, lithely crossed the road in front of us.

M is watching a movie, Freedom Writers. There is no way to explain to her why I cannot watch that movie. She sees me in the teacher, bless her heart. I guess I do, too. And I see my students in her students. We can both give real names to those characters in the movie, and it doesn't help that it is based on a true story. I can't watch it for three minutes without falling apart. Every time it is on she wants to watch it. Dang.

Em is on the other end of the spectrum, asking if it is possible to connect the energy of living things, like trees, to make an energy triangle. I don't know the answer to that.

Saying that being a parent to these two intense girls is a challenge is truly an understatement.

I have discovered Gnostics who informed me that the historical true Gnostic was vegan.

Make sure you get plenty of light exercise, rest, good sleep and drink good water. It really helps a lot when doing any kind of fast or detox.

I stopped eating meat about a year ago. What a wonderful transformational experience it has been for me on many levels. I feel so much better and much lighter. Beside all of the ethical reasons to not eat meat, I found that I naturally did not want to eat it at all -much to the dismay of friends and family.

But I really needed to listen to what my body was telling me -I'm allergic (not life threatening) to the proteins in certain kinds of meat including cow, goat, fowl and fish.

Also, recently through studying my own astrology chart it was revealed to me that I am a natural vegan. Any little nuances you want to know about yourself they are in there. Really has helped me to clarify, start to flow with.... and to release some things in my life.

And now, I'll bet..that when you watch a person eat a piece of meat, it is a bit weird. That you might feel like people who eat meat, especially in front of you, have some sort of veil in them and on their personality. A thing which you can see but they cannot. And that walking though the meat section of the supermarket is downright horrifying. Dizzying, in fact.

Even though I'm back at eating meat, I try to stick with chicken and fish. But I still have to gulp hard when walking through the meat section. All that pain, all that misery.

oddly enough, there is no intersect for the dead sea. But the salts are very abundant, and apparently quite potent.

Which means the salt lake there may have formed before any prior crustal motion or movement. (pre giza pyramid)

Where I work and live for 6 months a year, the menu is vegetarian. Every once in a great while (3-5 times a season) there is a critter entree. I get really grossed out seeing rendered body parts next to my food. There is something quite repugnant about corpses of any species laying next to what you eat. Seeing others revel in these offerings is a real twilight zone episode for me. You'd think they were deprived instead of the overfed population we are. After 23 years of a veg diet and the hard physical work of massage therapy 5 days a week and up to 8 hours a day, all without being out for illness, I can vouch for my body type thriving on a veg diet. I hope the highlighting gets my point across. I speak for myself only. If I am some other kind of sub-species, I accept the tag.

I'm going to start growing spirulina soon, and then I'll take a shot at it again.

It is, my personal experience, that you can't get to the top of this thing (reality immersion) while consuming meat. Plain and simple. Whether one wishes to realize it or not.

IMO and IME..when ignorance has finally passed, and we step into knowing....then comes karma. And we are so far past ignorance on this particular subject and actions/behavior.

I don't grow my own spirulina but I do buy it from someone who grows it locally.
If I can't grow it my-self (mostly fruits) I buy organic locally grown foods.

When I stopped eating meat I felt a lot of suffering. The animals, my body and what I had done.
Stepping into knowing and more into true reality has been an eye opener for me. One that has been a
process. A journey well worth taking also a responsibility when you do.

The natural world really responds in a beautiful way to our own nature. By not eating meat you allow spirit in -to come through and open yourself up more to the natural world and it responds.

I do Spiralina and Chlorella together in my morning smoothie, along with live greens from my garden.
It gives me so much energy, and its such good quality protein that it keeps me satisfied for a good 4 hours.

It's also a good protein source to stock pile, i bought a bulk supply that was sealed in cans and is good for 8 years.

I would love to make my own though, that sounds like an excellent skill to have.

Pure energy. Even energy forms are required to engage in some form of intake and retention. Pure energy would be the way to go, in that case.

Forms of beings with less capacity as a being in a pure energy form. Would their intake be that of what is incapable of reflection? Does capacity for reflection and rumination define the parameters of what is suitable as a food source? For the self reflection and rumination provides the data points needed for self creation and continuance/being.

Now, what does that say about humans, as for being in purity, learning, to be exempt from being a food animal?

Where does that 'line' liie/lay?

How about...that collective energetics might have a collective energetic representation. A collective 'ego', if you will. And that their consumption and or use, is tolerated as their awareness is not at a level where this is an issue?

Now, again, what does that say about 'humans', in this chain of logic? Their collective gods and collective projections?

That as long as there is a juvenile collective egoic projection of a God and a Lucifer (and so on...), that they may be a suitable food or energy source for other beings?

It was just over two feet long, not fully grown...and both cats are watching the plant patch where it is hiding. They werent around when it came in, yet seem to know it is there.

A few nights ago I had another visit from the Fae only this time it was an interaction with one of them.
I was sitting out in the forest late in the evening by one of the red oaks and he appeared right in front of me -surprising me a little. He wasn't one of the real little ones; he stood about 3 ft. tall wearing a very warm woolen cape and hat. He carried a wood staff in his left hand that was gnarled at the top end. The little guy looked ancient with long white hair, a short white beard covered by his cape and had strange glowing blue eyes.

He softly stamped his staff a couple of times and then formally introduced him-self to me in a gruff voice. I said that it was good to meet him and thank you for coming and introduced my-self. We had a common conversation. Then he said that it's getting colder and some of us will be going to sleep soon, but that he would be back. He said that he was going to rest for a while and closed his eyes breathing softly. We both stood next to the tree for some time taking in the night air and then he stamped his staff again disappearing into the tree.

The next night I had a dream. In the dream a tiny little very deep color faery came flying in around me, stopped in mid air, morphed into a butterfly and gave birth to a fish and flew away. The fish was rainbow colored and looked like an ocean fish. Then a tall glowing woman appeared dressed in white silks. She picked up the fish with both of her hands and gently wrapped it in a white silk cloth. She handed me the fish and said to keep the fish during the winter; give it life, it will grow and in the Spring I will come back, look for me then. She disappeared and I woke up from the dream.

That castor oil soap is great stuff, I'm glad you tried it out. When the oils are right with the skin and hair are right, so is one's electrical conductivity, hence the line of products being called Aura Glow, which is a literal description of what the products do for you.

Dearest Ulli I know nothing about the Carrington event but I do know about angular planets. When any planet is angular, especially within about 3 or 4 degrees from the cusp of the angle it has a greater effect in the chart or should I say the person or the event. An angular planet is said to be prominent in the chart. Some years ago, the Gauchlins were a married French couple who as psychologists and frankly were also non believers in astrology started a serious experiment getting the charts of famous people hoping to disprove Astrology, but the more research they did the more convinced they were of the validity of Astrology. Over a number of years they had a collection of many thousands of charts which they did the old way by hand without computers. One thing they found was that in the charts of doctors Saturn would turn up on an angle so many times that it couldn't possibly be a coincidence. They found athletes had a prominent Mars on an angle. Many other things too. So instead of debunking astrology they indeed were proving its authenticity.

For those who are familiar with astrological symbols, there a synastry (comparison of two charts), which is rarely studied except with astrological twins. Edgar Cayce then discusses separately the activities of entities on each planet that I will not discuss in this article, but it is a fact that if human consciousness evolves, the impact energy of the planetary influence also changes . For evidence in forecasting, there are many levels of interpretation to make an appointment warming. Which will depend on the vibrational level of each to resonate. I noticed that the traditional study of archetypal influence is often at odds with the reality itself. If the astrologer does not connect intuitively to the chart, instead of distinguishing a single configuration of the chart outside position (sign, house), which will serve only to mark the astrologer.

We change vibrational and we should change the method too rigid enclosing the psychic consultant in a grid instead of a reroute reading itself dimensional. The study of astrology should not lock the student in a non-mathematical scalable, so this is the "individualized horoscopes," would have no temporal existence. As we come to recognize ourselves in a description based on the phases of the lunation, which opens more on the collective consciousness. THE GERYL FACTOR


Well, here we are 43 days out from the much debated date of 21/12/12.

Let's knock one furphy on the head straight away. The Maya NEVER said that that
solstice will mark the end of the world. They had at least 24 calendars, with
the main one - the Baktun - being about 400 years long. This is the 13th
Baktun, about to end - a 5,125 time period. The only unusual thing about that
particular point in time is that most of their calendars will `roll over' on
that date. It's a bit like our midnight on New Years eve - at that moment, a
series of seconds, minutes, days, weeks, months and a year ALL END. And start
all over again at a pico-second past midnight! Just as the Mayan calendric
cycles will on 22/12/12.

OK, what else.

Well, we are apparently crossing the galactic equator, and thus traversing the
accretion ring around our galaxy, the Milky Way. Hence, I suppose, the uptick
in meteors, comets, and even global warming. (Friction through the dust?) This
is certainly a first in (recorded) human history!

Good old humanity has nearly made the planet unsustainable, so Big Mama is
getting a bit peeved. Won't bore you with the details - if you're reading this,
you already know.

Is that the reason for the uptick in quakes and volcanic activity? Well - could
be, eh?

Not to mention the minor pettinesses of economics, wars, politics, and suchlike
similar nonsense.

OK - and so? So we reach the Geryl factor.

Like I said - quakes are on the increase, at least if they are over about Mag 5;
oddly, below that magnitude they are decreasing. Does that indicate some sort
of `plate lock-up'?

Patrick Geryl has figured out a correlation between Solar System planetary
positions and earthquakes. And Solar eruptions as well, but we'll leave that
bit for now.

If that sounds a bit too much like astrology - wrong. You're thinking of the
`stars' on the cartoon page of the daily rag, where they belong! But that is
not to knock serious astrology; the history of that goes back to way before
Babylonian times. Today, only a very few practitioners really know the art.

No, Geryl's research has looked at the combination of planetary positions and
big quakes historically - and there IS a correlation. The exact reason for the
correlation may well be gravitational; or even, and this is my favourite
explanation, quantum in nature. Orbiting, rotating bodies get quite interesting
at that level … and don't even bother asking me - that's already stretched my
knowledge to its limit in that field!

But suffice to say - the test of prediction is the fact in hindsight. And right
now, Patrick Geryl has had no less than six successive hits, forecasting the
dates of major (M6 and above) quakes, and a `ball park' figure of their
magnitude. Today's M7.4 in Guatemala is his latest hit.

Not a bad record. So Far!!

The gulpy bit is his outlook for December - next month - 2xM7+, 1xM8+, and
1xM10+.

And remember the power of a quake increases TEN TIMES for each step up - so a M8
is TEN TIMES STRONGER than a M7, etc etc….. Ouch……. making an M10, at 100 times
stronger than a M8, literally unimaginable.

No, he doesn't forecast any `where' of the quakes - only a date and magnitude
approximation, somewhere on planet Earth…..

To take a slight but parallel deviation, Clif's frequent mentions of a "Global
Coastal Event" in his language analyses come to mind, as do the R/V reports of
large waves coming ashore ….. along with numerous individual dreams, from
people all over the planet, of such happenings.

Safe to assume that you are off into denial territory now, is it? Might see you
there!! (Save a beer for me….) But the good news is, his record is not perfect,
At least - up `til the past six quakes …… it wasn't …...

Just one little thought - Geryl's M10 on 21/12 - is that TOO coincidental?

I have to throw a plug in for that caster oil soap, too. I am amazed at the results in Em's skin. She follows the soap with straight caster oil massaged into her face. It really, really works. And, of course, I had to try it for myself, though I rarely have break outs...I love it too!!!

What a difference it makes to have all my holes filled in and leaks plugged up. I feel...stronger...and like I am holding my charge longer.

I have alway felt at peace with the animal, insect, plant, elements, and elemental kingdoms. They come to me in dreams, flashes and meditations. So when a particular consciousness speaks, I'll look her up. Most of the time it dovetails what I've come to know about myself in that moment of the journey. It's a confirmation of what I already know and not the other way around.

Also, I stay open to the guidance when I don't see connections shown. I know synchronous moments are another helpful tool. I'll get further confirmations through people, a resource, or as crazy as a tree showing me a penguin in it's branches. I look it up and sure enough it fits the question I had. It works because my helpers know it does.

Ashcraft's own radio telescope in New Mexico recorded the event 1 hour and 54 minutes after sunset:

Indeed they are. This event brings to mind the iconic night-time solar radio burst of March 8, 1958. Five radio telescopes at the University of Florida picked up emissions from the sun while observing the planet Jupiter in tthe middle of the night. On the other side of the world, radio astronomers in daylit Australia confirmed that a powerful solar radio burst had taken place at that exact time. The event is described in a 1959 Nature paper (http://www.typnet.net/AJ4CO/Library/FullText/Anomalous%20Night%20Time%20Reception%20of%20a%20Major%20Solar%20Radio%20Burst,%20Smith%20%28Nature,% 201959%29.pdf) by pioneering radio astronomers Alex Smith and Tom Carr. They considered the possibility that solar radio waves might have been reflected by the Moon or carried to the night side of Earth by ionospheric ducting. In the end, they could not conclusively explain what happened and to this day night-time solar radio bursts remain a puzzle

Adventures in Shortwave Radio Research

The work of John H. Nelson is the second big dot to connect in understanding this process of how planetary alignments relate to solar activity and thus geomagnetic activity on Earth. Nelson was a shortwave radio researcher who worked for RCA (Radio Corporation of America) during the 1950s and 60s. He was tasked with finding a way to predict days when shortwave signals would be disrupted. (Remember this was before satellite communication, so there was a certain interest in maintaining these radio connections between the continents.) Even at this point, scientists had noticed the link between sunspot activity and the geomagnetic activity that affected shortwave radio transmissions, but they had no accurate means to predict when solar activity was likely to break out. Nelson studied the sunspot patterns for a number of years until he grew frustrated by his lack of progress in making long-range predictions.

Nelson then began to look at past solar storms where radio transmissions were wiped out for several days, hoping to find some sort of reoccurring pattern that might explain why these days, and not others, were special. On a whim, he decided to test an idea about the position of the planets, and used the date March 23rd 1940, the date of a significant geomagnetic storm, for his initial test date. He looked up the positions of the planets for this particular day and to his surprise noticed something very interesting.



What he found was that on this day several planets lined up with each other. He discovered that Mercury was at opposition with Jupiter on March 22nd, and then in conjunction with Saturn on March 26th. On March 24, one of the worst days in terms of radio transmission, Venus was square to Saturn. Nelson described this radio outage on March 23rd 1940 as being the "Rosetta Stone" of forecasting solar activity. This was just the start. He later discovered many more idiosyncrasies with the way the planets teased solar activity out of the Sun.

Nelson discovered that solar activity was more likely to occur during some conjunction, opposition or square between an inner and outer planet which he referred to as 'hard' angles. This was usually the initiating factor in the solar storms he observed and predicted. He also noted that other harmonics of these 'hard' angles served to increase solar activity as well. By 'harmonic' I mean taking 180 degrees and dividing it by integers. So angles like 180/2 = 90, 180/3 = 60, 180/4 = 45, 180/5 = 36 and so on... Even multiples of these harmonics such as 75 degrees (15 x 5) or 135 (45 x 3) and others could play a role too. Why harmonics were important to this process is unclear and probably something Nelson was hoping future research would shed light on, but nonetheless these were the observations he made.

He noticed that in the absence of any 'hard' angles, the trine angles (120 and 240 degrees) tended to stabilize solar activity, making good days for shortwave transmissions. The trine configuration of Saturn and Jupiter was especially significant in this regard. But he also noted that if a trine angle corresponded with a 'hard' angle between an inner and outer planet on the same day, it would usually magnify solar activity.

Nelson discovered that when multiple planets fell into harmonic relations this seemed to add to the solar activity initiated by a 'hard' angle. But these harmonics by themselves, without a 'hard' angle, usually did nothing. Likewise, a hard angle by itself without any added harmonics usually did nothing as well. Nelson also discovered that a planet's ascending and descending nodes played a role in setting up solar storms too. From his book Cosmic Patterns he writes:

The major storms analyzed in the following discussions will often contain more than one hard angle and numerous harmonics. Sometimes several hard angles with their associated harmonics follow one another in quite rapid succession, resulting in major storms, some of which can be prolonged for this reason.

The planet Mercury is of major importance. One would expect this since it is the closest planet to the sun and has the greatest orbital velocity. (It also has considerable gravitational effects when at perihelion, however I do not wish to get into the area of gravitation since my prime interest is in angles.) I think it is safe to say that in at least 90 percent of the cases Mercury is the trigger planet. The planets slower than Mercury can be all set up on a major pattern but a storm usually does not begin until Mercury moves into a hard angle with one of them, or as a harmonic to two that are already associated in a hard angle.

Simple, uncontaminated conjunctions, squares, and oppositions involving only two planets can usually be ignored. Simultaneous multiple harmonics are the key. There are so many hard angles made by Mercury and Venus because of their velocity that, if every hard angle presaged a storm, shortwave radio would have a very difficult time surviving.

Another rule is that the intensity of a storm will be greater if a planet making a hard angle is at, or close to, either its nodal point or perihelion point in space.

At perihelion a planet is at that point in its orbit which brings it closest to the sun. Nodes are the places in a planet's orbit at which it crosses the plane of the Earth's orbit which means, of course, that the planet is crossing the ecliptic. There are two nodes, known as the ascending node, the point at which the planet crosses from below the ecliptic to above the ecliptic, and the descending node (180 degrees away), at which point the planet crosses from above to below the ecliptic. My research throughout the years has shown that these points in space are very important in this work.

The research relating to the nodes has revealed that the point halfway between the nodes is also a very sensitive area in space - apparently as important as the nodes themselves. At this point in space the planet pauses for an instant in the motion that is taking it away from the ecliptic, and then starts back again towards the ecliptic. Perhaps in doing this it creates a torque in the magnetic field of the sun. This can be demonstrated by dragging a canoe paddle through still water, then suddenly reversing the paddle; an eddy is created in the water. Could the same thing take place in the sun's outer atmosphere?
Here's an example of one prediction he made for a severe solar storm that occurred on August 30, 1960. This planetary arrangement involves all nine planets at harmonic angles to each other.

Extremely severe disturbance on August 30, 1960

This is a remarkable example of a very strong simultaneous multiple harmonic involving several planets. An examination of this diagram shows us that Mercury was in conjunction with Pluto at the same time that it was in opposition to Earth and harmonically related to Mars and Jupiter, being 120 degrees ahead of Mars and 120 degrees behind Jupiter. This of course placed the Earth also in a strong harmonic relation, since it was 180 degrees from Mercury and Pluto. Mercury also made a 45 degree angle with Venus, a 60 degree angle with Neptune, and a 15 degree angle with Uranus. At the beginning of the storm, Mercury also made a 135 degree contact with Saturn. All nine planets in the solar system were involved in this arrangement. Shortwave signals were completely blacked out during the night of the 30th.

This storm was predicted officially on July 19th with the statement that a·complete blackout would take place on August 30th.
The nice thing about Nelson's findings is that all of these factors are predictable and can be calculated far into the future. This suggests that it may be possible to predict solar storms via computer algorithms. In fact, I discovered one ham radio enthusiast who attempted to use part of Nelson's Theory in his own computer program (http://www.eham.net/articles/8828) to calculate a 'Nelson index' for each day. It's a crude attempt, and it doesn't take into account all of the factors the Nelson discovered, but it seems that he did have some preliminary success at accounting for past solar activity. Nelson believed his method brought about a 85% success rate in predicting future solar storms.

Despite Nelson's many successes at predicting solar storms, which he mentions in his book, there do seem to be some factors missing from his work. I think it would be worthwhile to consider some of James McCanney's ideas in light of Nelson's discoveries. The first missing factor is the influence of the Moon and how it interacts with the Earth-Sun connection. According to McCanney, when the Moon passes in front of the Earth (during a New Moon), there's a build-up of charge which then gets dumped into the ionosphere after the Moon passes. McCanney points out that the chance for hurricanes and cyclones greatly increases just after the passing of a New Moon. (Yes, cyclone-type storms like tornadoes and hurricanes are likely electric phenomena (http://www.sott.net/articles/show/229191-Tornado-A-Natural-Charged-Sheath-Vortex).) The Moon by itself may have little influence over solar activity compared to the planets, but it seems to have quite an effect on Earth.



The other factor missing from Nelson's work is comets. Should we factor alignments of comets in with the rest of the planets? To me this seems like a no-brainer since some comets can actually be the size of moons or planets, not to mention the fact that comets appear to be much more electrically active too. McCanney mentions several examples of comet alignments and their effect on Earth in his book Planet-X, Comets and Earth Changes. It seems that comets don't need to directly impact the Earth to create 'changes' in our environment.

We recently passed through an alignment with Comet Elenin around March 15th (http://www.sott.net/articles/show/225704-Comet-Elenin-Update-). There was also massive solar and geomagnetic activity (http://spaceweather.com/archive.php?view=1&day=10&month=03&year=2011) around this time along with a major earthquake in Japan (http://www.sott.net/articles/show/225693-Massive-8-9-magnitude-quake-hits-Japan-Eastern-coastline-inundated-by-multiple-tsunamis) and earthquakes elsewhere (http://www.sott.net/articles/show/225675-China-Earthquake-Deadly-Temblor-Kills-at-Least-22) too. Comet Elenin came into alignment with Mars towards the end of April, and this month turned out to be one of the most active months for tornadoes (http://www.sott.net/articles/show/229142-US-The-Tornado-Epidemic-Of-April-2011) in US history. There does seem to be a strong correlation between solar activity, severe weather, earthquakes, and volcanoes; and it appears that planet (and comet) positions play a large role in setting up this solar activity. Further data and research is obviously needed to draw any definite conclusions, but this seems to be a good working hypothesis for the moment.

One wonders if alignments with first magnitude stars or large cosmic radio sources might have certain effects as well. Perhaps once we understand the impact of these nearby influences we'll be able to understand the finer influences received from the cosmos too.

I'm curious, normally I need to look into someone's eyes to connect, during Bill's show when the guards approached, I had flashes of a facility, and a person watching people go into the underground, but never knowing what was down there...

so the question is, if these guards had nothing to do with the facility, who was I looking through to see what I did...

Anyways, I have stayed steady for 4 days now. It is still hard for me to focus consistently as the parasites inside fight for survival. Yesterday, I synchronistically was turned onto something called Quinoa. It is supposed to help replace something some folks think is important. I was told this is a "complete protein" and stopping the meat means I am missing this essential protein -

I am boiling my water but I am uncertain if it takes out all the toxins... but this is the best I can do. The diet is almost all juices of the fruits and vegetables. There's a bunch of garlic every day... I mean a BUNCH! I love garlic too. I can eat it raw. Its not easy but I can eat a few cloves raw all by themselves. Its funny how garlic is supposed to hard off vampires (parasites).

Anyways, I have a better feeling today I can actually last on my new diet. I have to anyways for 30 days. Thanks Modwiz, I love you man and you know it. Love to All here in the Village, Chester

I love quinoa and eat it almost every day. I add other veggies to it and make a broth from the steamed broccoli water adding apple cider vinegar and braggs aminos. Plus,a nice amount of cayenne pepper. I do not get bored with it almost every day because eating on a planet where 14000 starve to death every day does not allow me to entertain boredom as a serious consideration. Besides, it tastes real good. BTW,I add a very generous amount of extra virgin olive oil to my broth. It really gives it good weight and flavor.

So when we asked the girl she told us that a farmer in Cartago had just started to cultivate it and that it is totally organically grown.
Until now you could only find imported Quinoa which is very expensive.
Then I found out she was charging at least that.....$4 for just 200grs. Crazy.

If we are going to factor in Daniel’s material with the astrological wing of astronomy, it seems to me that the picture changes rather radically :)

The Sun would seem to be enjoying a large non-vegetarian meal turning interstellar dust into intrastellar dust. And the planets would seem be joining in the feast. This being so, we need to include not just small asteroids and comets in the calculation but also and principally all these dust particles coming in every direction and trining and conjuncting and opposing each other. The standard astrology model will go out of the window when the Sun chases the planets off to a safe distance as Daniel says it will. Astrologically it will be a whole new deal.

Remember to rinse quinoa well (unless you buy the kind that comes pre-rinsed). In its natural state, quinoa grains are covered in bitter saponins to discourage insects and birds from eating them.

I know 3 ways to do it, a few minutes under running water, or several water baths until the water is clear, or soaked several hours and rinsed.

Use a fine-mesh colander or sieve, or cheesecloth to drain them (they're tiny).

Remember to rinse quinoa well (unless you buy the kind that comes pre-rinsed). In its natural state, quinoa grains are covered in bitter saponins to discourage insects and birds from eating them.

I know 3 ways to do it, a few minutes under running water, or several water baths until the water is clear, or soaked several hours and rinsed.

Use a fine-mesh colander or sieve, or cheesecloth to drain them (they're tiny).

This quinoa-black bean salad sounds good.

I just recently learnt to let the quinnoa boil for about 1 minute, pour off the water and boil for 15 minutes in fresh water.
That will get rid of all the bitter tasting stuff.

The mere thought of my son behind the wheel puts me in a bit of a panic mode...Luckily he is only 7 ( going on 18 in his mind), so I have a few years until I get that white knuckle gripping experience...he is so darned stubborn, a quality I hate to parent, but really admire. Oh, if only I knew half of what I thought I did at 16 now....wow...but oh well ;)

Husband was diagnosed with shingles yesterday. Saturn ( ruler of skin) square angle to his Ascendant (body).
Saturn is now in Scorpio, so Leo and Aquarius planets in people's birth charts will receive that square.
I'm still dealing with my Saturn - Mars square...Mars as ruler of Aries, and Aries rules the head...
so I've had a constant headache. Should start fading soon.
But Saturn also rewards, and my new agent is working out...she has been selling my work...yay!

Yesterday I watched a BBC documentary on Steve Jobs as the hippie who turned billionaire...
This is so me, this combination. Because being a hippie which means being alive and create, and being poor is not a viable option.
Money equals freedom and most hippies would be rich and would enjoy and share their riches, if it weren't for the fact that they associate money with those awful neocon straights, and therefore shun even the very idea of striving for wealth.
This birth will see a change in this attitude, and people will discover their gifts and turn them into cash, small business trading on the web. Then that cash can be used to help the next hippie sell their wares...etc, etc.

Kids have such different needs, and astrology really comes in handy in bringing out their talents.
So a five-year-old future athlete may want more physical freedom than a future graphic designer.
But this conversation is about their future relationship with their mum,
so if I were given another chance I would work harder at hiding my suffering from him,
have more of his favorite foods around, spend more time in the kitchen than I did,
provide more contact with kids after homework, help more with homework,
provide more books and less TV...
Easier said than done when one is going through a difficult divorce
and one parent is not even struggling with alcoholism,
but giving full reign to it.

Swan, I have something to say about mothering, but am headed to work now. I'll let it simmer and post it this evening. My children, two boys now with their own lives, are my shining joy in life. The one thing I did right. Not cos I knew anything... it was just what came to me naturally, I'm hoping there's something I can say from my experience that may help you.

Well Swan, I was told this again and again with reproaches tones, with love tones, with despair tones, with "please mom do not talk" tones. Or worst "why are we doing all kind of things others parents do not do, this is not fair"

Everytime, I would do two things basically:

1. promised I will hold myself fine in public, just to allow me one sentence ok...

2. I would give the advantages of having a "weird" mother which often were: having fun, learning new stuff, learning things others do not know, being able to trust in my knowledge, knowing I love her because I do more than most parents, her being very lucky to have such a mom, that she would understand and know why I did things differently when she would be 20, etc. When she would be better off than friends because of what we did, I would mention it.

Having plain fun with her was very important too because lots lots of times we were in no fun therapies.

I would very often reaffirm how much I love her, verbally and true gestures specially for her (something she likes in food, a piece of clothe she likes, or just a walk with her for 30 minutes (she enjoyed this because we would then talk about life, her doing the talking). She also learned that I was a specialist in making her and her friends talk, without looking intrusive. At teenager age, her friends started telling her how chill her mother was, it helped. lol

Then I would teach her things other do not know but that helps her in everyday life such as non verbal language look out, interpretation of facial expressions, philosophical discussion at my child's level of understanding, interpretation of a tv program (snippets of it, just for curiosity), etc.

It started when her language was sufficient to do it (it was delayed in her case). Oh and I stopped doing homeworks with her when she ask me why from an ok mom I transformed into a witch while doing homeworks. I chose instead to keep being demanding for therapies and hired a tutor for homeworks, in order not to weaken the relationship. One has to chose the battles.

All this while working 60 hours a week to bring the money in to pay for all this.

So it is doaable, the main point is I think showing, telling and having love, and having snippets of time for fun all along the day/evening. (I do tease a lot)

Which come to another point: very difficult to do while being in a nasty divorce or with drug/alcool problems lingering around. This happened to me for 3 years when my daughter was 4 up to 7 (divorce took that long, gosh he was nasty). In those years, the above was much less. I did excuse myself later on for not being present when it came out and i did let my daughter express the pain she had and could remember - it went on for months in her early teenagerhood, I patiently listened and ask question on what she lived. I told her that even if she wished for perfection, I was not a perfect mom (which she reminded me happily when she was not a perfect kid lol).

I think that kids, even grown up ones, have an intense desire to be told, verbally, how much they are loved and shown with hugs or silent bright eyes looks filled with love energy (silent up to when they ask why we look at them this way, answer: because I love you).

They have also to be told how truthfully sorry we are for the mistakes we made and name them at that moment (they will be glad to name the others we forgot) and to be listened intensively without judgment, arguments, defense, when they finally tell us how hurt they were, a simple "I am so sorry for your pain" will make miracles. I still wish my 80 years old mother would do it for me (which she never did - now I am wondering if I am not projecting my own desires on your stories, well....). Love / hate relationship, this is me and my mom. I wish i could have the love/hate but she would have only the love side and tell me there is no hate in her. lol

So where do you think I got my fatherly touch?
It shows when I'm with my grandchildren.
But I also must add one more personal tidbit:
when I met my third husband a large factor of that relationship working out was
because my son loved him and i knew he would make a good stepdad.
And our marriage did have a serious problem several years later when son left home to go to college...
I suddenly realized I was with the guy more because he was a father substitute, than for the usual reasons.
We did grow together with time, however... working at a relationship is healthy for the soul.
My son still loves him although he now works for his biological father...
a sign he still hasn't outgrown his masochistic streak... ;)
