Republican Bob Turner won the special election for the heavily Democratic congressional seat in New York that was vacated by Congressman Weiner when he stepped down from office. This district was represented by Democrats for more than eight decades and Obama held a three-to-one registration advantage in the district. This race was an important election for both parties.
Is this a referendum on President Obama or not?

Seeing as it is a huge swing, it very well might be.
Being in the middle of liberal land too.

It is beyond belief that in this day and age a politician would think he could send "improper" tweets or text messages and expect they will not hit the internet. Especially if they are to a woman who is not his wife. Just ask Tiger Woods about a woman scorned. Do these men really believe that a woman who cheats with a married man will be faithful to the man when things go awry. Please!!!
Aside from that, this is even a clearer message to the President than Massachusettes losing Kennedy's seat to a Republican. Both parties should take the hint as to what Americans are thinking - stop the spending!
Governor Christie of New Jersey says it best. His message on non-essential spending is basically "No, we don't have the money."
