View Full Version : Ontario Avo meeting

I just met fellow Avalonian Ernie Nemeth for the first time, it turns out we are almost neighbours! – Ernie reached out to me and suggested that we meet for lunch. Thanks Ernie, I’m so glad we met...

One of the many subjects that we discussed was the possibility of suggesting an informal meeting with other Avalonians who are able to meet in Toronto. I’d like to float the idea out there just to see who would be interested in the idea. If you like the thought of, say, an Ontario "ground crew" chapter or if you are curious about the idea of meeting some other Avonuggets, then either reply to this or pm me and we’ll take a look at putting something fun together.

Who's in?

Best wishes

Why did I ever think we were the only two here in this locale? I don't know. But you were right, there are many of us!

This is the start of something big, if nothing else we're gonna have a party...

It sounds like a good idea and I consider it. I live in Newmarket, so it's quite feasible for me to attend Toronto for a meeting.

let's see how many responses we get, and i'll take a look at location and logistics once we get a sense for interest. We should try to make it central if possible.

Hi there 42, great idea, and I am interested, however, being in the great white north, ie: an 8 hour drive north of Toronto, I will not be able to guarantee I can make it just any time out of the blue. But I would love to be kept posted when a date has been arranged.
Thanks,
Alan

Great thread 42.
I think it is just a wonderful gesture from 42 to get us to gather together.
He is working pretty hard at getting something started, and, i think that is commendable.
It is what we are supposed to be doing, gathering together, especially right now, to discuss how each of us are doing on our journey.
It,s nice chatting on the computer, but, grab someones hand, hard, and give it a shake while you look them straight in the eye and say hello, human contact, yeah man!
C,mon Ontario, now is the time, GTA is the place, let us gather.

Hello Avalon members.
Had a real nice thing happen today, really nice.
42 called me and said he would be going by where I live, did I mind if he took a minute,s to stop by so we could meet and say hello.
Well, are you kdding me ,a , chance to meet with a fellow avalonian, someone who actually knows the real deal.
Of course I accepted, and immediatley sent 42 directions on how to get here.
I waited with great anticipation, and was not disappointed.
We met each other with handshakes, high fives, and, hugs, like long lost brothers or something, it was lovely and incredible at the same time.
We both wore big smiles as we furiously asked questions back and forth, it was really cool.
What kind of a person is 42, well, he went a couple of hours, yeah, hours out of his way just to meet another avalonion, and I am so happy that he did.
Oh yeah, he brought coffee and donuts, but we got so caught up talkng we forgot all about them, I think we forgot them outside somewhere.
I must tell you, all, it is so very nice to start a conversation with, and how did you wake up friend, instead of studing someone for a few minutes to ascertain if thier awake at all or not.
Thanks 42, you made my summer brother.
I can not, monetarily speakng, attend any of these marvelous conventions going on, I was very jealous of these lucky attendee,s, but, not anymore, I just had a convention with 42 and soaked it in and enjoyed every minute of it.
I hope that you all get a chance to meet this kindred spirit, I do believe you will not be disappointed.

I did not realize there were so many of us in Ontario. We actually could have arranged to have George Kavassilas do a presentation around Toronto - if only I'd known . . .
Anyway I have one friend at Avalon - Nearing - and I didn't even know she was here in Ontario. :>)
I'd love to meet you Nearing (and everyone else of course) but I'm not sure I can make it to Toronto - cows to milk you know :>)

Hi Avalonians, I am wondering when and where you would meet, and as well is the Frenchie side of the country is welcome. If so, depending on the week end, we could maybe pool a car or a van from Montreal for a 5 hours drive.

Any from Quebec interested?

Bonjour! Now that we have a number of confirmed and interested Avo's from different parts, the next thing is logistics. I'm going to look at alternative locations tomorrow - so far it looks like the east end of the GTA is the best compromise for all, so i've got a couple of places to check out tomorrow. As for when... it looks like we could pull this off the weekend before Canadian Thanksgiving, meaning that Sunday Oct 2nd in the afternoon might be a good target date. I'll firm up as soon as i can... thoughts people...?

If you're asking me, I'm in the NW so I'll be driving. Others?

Good points, I'll make sure that we do the best we can to get everyone there that can possibly attend, I'm sure we can arrange to meet people at the station if necessary. Whatever it takes.

Just got back to this thread today Ernie. It would appear that the idea has died.
What a shame. I would love it to happen but a little to busy with work and family stuff to try and organize it myself.
And besides that i couldn't organize my way out of a wet paper bag :o
Maybe by bumping the thread someone else might take up the torch. :canada:

Will have to meditate on this one.
I'm tired of this forum.
Too much talk and not enough doing.
Everyone with an opinion, everyone is right.

And the information is convoluted, inconsistent, mostly unsubstantiated.
People often come here only to have a war with words. To upset the peace...

Some here have no understanding of spirit at all. They go on talking about the news of the day without once referring to spirit and its wants and needs. Like it doen't even exist. How sad.

Then there are the experts. Experts in every field, some made up by the person themselves. And the charlatans who claim all sorts of freakish supposings, and draw us into their figments of dellusion. The sun worshippers, the earth worshippers, the doomsayers, the conspiracy proponents, the alien agenda agents, the scientific crowd, the trolls, the spiritually advanced and all manner of circus freak side show artists in between.

It's a joke right? A rather bad one at that. Who can take this place seriously?

Why post this here?

Because I cannot understand why a positive step towards action is so loath to appear. We are all arm-chair critics and professional opinion surfers with no desire to actually do something positive (or for that matter, negative). We might get dirty, we might be uncomfortable. Heck, we might put ourselves in danger - and with no off button to push to immediately release us from our discomfiture...

This is what I will think about - and I will contemplate what I want to do about it, if anything.
I'm tired of this pablum eating crowd.
