Great point here. In the last ten years or so as I got older I noticed all of this and it made me sick. At first I thought this was some kind of generational misunderstanding. I felt like the old codger with his pants up to his chest cussing the kids for speeding through the neighborhood. "Slow down, this is a neighborhood!"

As time went on I realized the younger generation had forgotten or never been taught all about history and what had even happened just ten years ago. None of these people stampeding through the doors of Best Buy could tell what the name of their state capitol is much less the capitol of their own country and don't care. The United States has been slowly destroyed since the murder of President Kennedy. It has been a slow intentional degradation of all of our love and energy to the point that it is now a dog eat dog world and has been designed that way. None of these idiots can pull their psyche above the next purchase of an Ipad, video game, etc. What a bunch of unthinking hominids we have become. They have turned our economy into a place where the only job you can get is in the service sector. We are all supposed to make a living serving each other food and cleaning each others carpets w/out producing any real tangible goods. At the same time our educational system has intentioanalyy been degraded to the point where no one knows or cares what is going on.

The people who engineered all this and continue to support it need to be sent to re-education camps and rehabilitated to human beings.

I said this four years ago:

We all need to stop buying anything but food. All of this crap would change within two months if we all just refused to play. Use the barter system and grow your own food. Develop a local trade network with all your friends etc.

they were vary open about it years ago....By moving industry to ever cheaper labour third world countries , and creating false consumer markets based on credit

Its the modern equivalent of the 'rape' of Africa in the 19/20th centuries and still going on today . Now I have no problem of the redistribution of wealth around the
world to bring the poorer countries up to a level enjoyed here in west and other places. But the problem is it is corporate led, The criminal 5% who own 95%
of the worlds wealth....This cannot be sustained and somethig must give , the trouble the elite are always one step ahead and are still making fortunes by

just finished listening to all six parts of Black Elks speaks and it is a fascinating history of the sioux and their tragic mistreatment by greedy misguided so called

civilised people..There were good and bad on both sides and the plains Indian way of life was about to come to a sad end from The Little big Horn to Wounded knee..

Black Elks had many adventures and left this account to balance the many white stories of pioneers and savage redskins ....Much misunderstanding in a clash of cultures

You know Ahamkara, I wondered the same thing about people relishing all the bloody hangings/beheadings back in the olden days. They'd make a picnic of it....Or cheer as if it were the best thing to happen in the world....So gross.

Mass panic has always ben part of human nature. Slick 'rulers ' have always used moments of mass celebration or outrage as a means to manipulate. The Romans used massive displays at their amphitheatres and massive parades to celebrate victories etc. Marie Antoinette knew what she was doing when she suggested the populace should eat cake, however the populace unleashed a mass event of their own. The recent riots in England were an example of mass panicky behaviour as well as protest and just plain looting. Our 'rulers' know what we must be kept quiet and happy, with controlled outbreaks allowed with state-sanctioned celebrations such as New Year's Eve, Sports finals etc allowing some harmless noise and celebration and some harmless bonding with each other in a safe place. I think the sales fall into this category. Plans will be made, positions staked out and the bargains will be hunted.

The frenzy at the sales is a calculated event in a society such as the US where the prize is cheap enough for all to aspire to own it. Also if a purchase requires some conflict so much the better. This latter is what is so wrong.

No one should feel the need to own so something so desperately that they are willing to hurt another person to buy it. I bet the TV and news were full of ads for "things" to buy which will make you feel good, and happy to be alive again. But it's not new--- just that now we see it straight away on the news that night. However in our capitalistic societies we really cannot blame people who stampede into a store to try to purchase their own piece of fulfilment.
