I've just finished watching the documentary "The War You Don't See" by John Pilger (one of the few real journalists working today). It's a very moving account of how the media are used by governments to sell us their phony wars, very harrowing at times but very informative. What struck me :

The way that the Iraq was presented on US television, as though it were some sort of long-running sit-com.

The mealy-mouthed spokesman for the US military, I had to wonder whether this man actually has a heart, does he actually believe some of what he's saying ?

The way that many journalists are now openly admiting that they were taken in by Bush & Blair, the shame they feel, how they realise they should have asked more questions.

Best of all were the representatives of BBC and ITV news, so far up their own arses. Anyone who doubts that the BBC is a government mouthpiece needs to listen to this woman.

Overall this documentary provides an excellent insight into how the MSM works and how it's used by the government.

This is a link to John Pilger's site, the whole video must be available on Youtube, but I don't have Youtube access so can't provide that link, sorry !!

Have you tried one of following methods to access Youtube?

Many Governments usually block services like YouTube for a short period of time, many users have to go through unwanted censorship which can be avoided. A recent example of this censorship is the blocking of YouTube access in China.

However there are several alternatives to unblock or access the blocked websites by bypassing the ban, one of them includes using proxy servers to access blocked sites.

There are several other solutions to unblock websites, one of them is FreedomStick [via] which includes the Tor browser, which we had told you about recently as a project that allows users to browse internet anonymously.

There are other options available including proxy servers like KProxy and vTunnel that act as a proxy server without the need to make any changes to your browser settings.

We are very sure that there may be many other alternatives to access blocked websites, we would like to hear about them from you, tell us which services or tools you use to access blocked websites, it would definitely help the rest of the readers.

This is an excellent documentary - in fact all Pilger's are well worth watching and I have some of his books too. I was really pleased when my daughter's boyfriend (an A level student) came home and said his teacher had recommended it.

I agree - all his stuff is very thought provoking.

Hughe - thanks for the info, I'm well aware of proxies, but I have no credit card so don't have the means to buy one ! I can put up with it, it's just a little annoying at times ;)

Excellent documentary. Many thanks for posting this. Some parts are so sad, provocative and illuminating that the senses find it too hard to bear. Thank you again.
