Your idea has merit. But one thing that I don't agree with experts on is that Atlantis fell into the ocean. Something as grand as that and with all of our present day technologies no one has been able to locate it.
An amazing man named Giorgio Tsoukolos on "Ancient Aliens" (History Channel) stated that the ancient Greeks described "bronze gleaming islands" in the waters.... Well, Hopefully, you'll get a better idea if this video downloads. Tsoukolos starts explaining his theory at about 12:20.

What do you all think about Atlantis being located in Antartica? Maybe that's why they have it capped off and why there are so many countries stationed there....just a thought.

Crustal Displacement Theory states that Antartica was further north by South America and was indeed Atlantis. After it moved it froze over and the people left. The ones going to South America became the Olmecs who later on in time became the Mayans.

Other evidence to support the idea are the portolan maps that show Antartica as it would have been before it froze over including little bays and features we only discovered when he had Radar that could penetrate the ice.
