Hey huys, im sorry if this has ben discussed in another thread already, if so, mods please merge. that being said, today ( 10-3-11), on the vinny eastwood show, a frequent caller that calls himself "the greek" called in after Michael Tellinger's name got brought up in the second hour. And he called in and laid out a theory about the sun, and all the planets. Hen said the sun is not a "nuclear ball" all around, it is more like a comet, speeding through space, and the front side is black (hence the secret societies with black sun's in the symbols) and we are in the tail end, with all the other planets, riding in its wake, orbiting up and down, catching the fire behind it basically..... thats a new one to me... wondering if anyone has heard that one.. this caller usually has very knowledgable input on the show and its subjects.

Interesting theory ... but all the planets are revolving around the sun. So contrary to the moon there is no dark side .... (and the sun spins by itself too b.t.w.).

Hope these links and info help to clarify this question....
This is not wrong (ie the sun as a comet) because it does travel around the milky way galaxy at a very rapid pace trailed by the planets in it's solar system which are moving in a spiral fashion trailing behind it. Here is a pretty good graphic to allow you to see this concept:

This comes from an amazing site:

If you scroll to the bottom of this web page there is an offer of a free book as well.
As far as the black sun.... Many solar gazers are encouraged to connect with the 'sun behind our sun', which is also is called the Hunab K'u by the Maya. The great cosmic being, the Creator of our Galaxy, the Hunab K'u is seen by our eyes as black because it is made up of 'still magnetic light'. Below is an explanation of why this type of light appears black to us.
Still Magnetic Light: The all light of the Creator which is invisible, it centers wave-fields and bounds them in planes of stillness. It’s the blinding white light, which no eyes can see. Illuminates alone can see that Light through their centers of Consciousness located in their Pineal Gland. God’s White Mind-Light is dark to man’s senses because it is still. Man’s senses cannot perceive absolute stillness for this reason it is invisible.

After posting the above I realized that this means we NEVER see the leading edge (or top) of the sun. Likely it works like a toroid, with light being sent from one side, and light being pulled in (sucked in) on the other. Another way to say 'light' is electricity. This would be right in line with so many photographs of black holes.

Wow, thanks Dawn, didn't ever hear about that before.
"I have been in this" pitch blackness consciously for a cigarette's length once, and it felt absolutely great. Maybe, that was that?

The sun rotates, just like every other spherical astronomical body. Sunspots come into view from the 'behind side' regularly, then traverse the surface as it turns.
See here - this page is a sort of sun-rotation 101. :)

Here's a movie. The large sunspots, moving across the surface from our point of view, appear at about 35 seconds in.

Is this thread saying that the top of the sun is the forward direction it is traveling? Meaning that the solar system is traveling in the up direction?

Color me skeptical, Dawn :).
I'm open to considering radically different theories that predict subtly different changes in the positions of the planets and sun, but I'm sure as heck that a theory that predicts radically different positions is not correct.
Just because every new and improved advance in theory meets strong resistance, does not mean that every new theory that meets strong resistance is an improvement.

Up, down, left, right are the terms very difficult to use in a Space. If we would be in some definable space coordinate and we would know in which direction there is a top, ok than, but for now I think we can't say what direction we are going.
And this theory is for me just a bit sick interpretation of what Nassim explained (very logic for me) about the movements in the Universe. Everything is moving, all the time, there are cycles inside the cycles, so if things are difficult to understand I would suggest to start with this. If it helps. And please more scientific brains correct me if I am wrong.

I read Dawn's posts that way, yes. I didn't read other posts that way, so would not say that in general "the thread" is saying that.

Yes, there are cycles all over the place, and constant movement.
The question presented here is as to the basic shape, proportion, and relative orientation of the various major cycles of the planets and sun of this solar system.
