Hmm sounds like it may be a problem but i guess we'll know pretty soon guys.
We knew the sun was heating up and getting ready to kick out CME at us.
My main question is what the **** was that comet i mean seriously it is absolutely huge by astronomical standards and NASA are sticking to the normal "we have no idea"
and the classic "did not see it in time or my personnel favorite "don't worry"
Truth is close now, its tangible.

My advice is to not become paranoid about the sun. The sun is just doing its stuff, and it will keep doing its stuff for a long, except that now we have the technology to observe it, so its stuff might look abnormal for most of us.
