The Biggest Lie in the War on Terrorism
The Crime of Making Americans Aware of Their Own History
by WILLIAM BLUM

Is history getting too close for comfort for the fragile little American heart and mind? Their schools and their favorite media have done an excellent job of keeping them ignorant of what their favorite country has done to the rest of the world, but lately some discomforting points of view have managed to find their way into this well-defended American consciousness.

First, Congressman Ron Paul during a presidential debate last month expressed the belief that those who carried out the September 11 attack were retaliating for the many abuses perpetrated against Arab countries by the United States over the years. The audience booed him, loudly.

Then, popular-song icon Tony Bennett, in a radio interview, said the United States caused the 9/11 attacks because of its actions in the Persian Gulf, adding that President George W. Bush had told him in 2005 that the Iraq war was a mistake. Bennett of course came under some nasty fire. FOX News (September 24), carefully choosing its comments charmingly as usual, used words like “insane”, “twisted mind”, and “absurdities”. Bennett felt obliged to post a statement on Facebook saying that his experience in World War II had taught him that “war is the lowest form of human behavior.” He said there’s no excuse for terrorism, and he added, “I’m sorry if my statements suggested anything other than an expression of love for my country.” (NBC September 21)

Then came the Islamic cleric, Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen, who for some time had been blaming US foreign policy in the Middle East as the cause of anti-American hatred and terrorist acts. So we killed him. Ron Paul and Tony Bennett can count themselves lucky.

What, then, is the basis of all this? What has the United States actually been doing in the Middle East in the recent past?

* the shooting down of two Libyan planes in 1981
* the bombing of Lebanon in 1983 and 1984
* the bombing of Libya in 1986
* the bombing and sinking of an Iranian ship in 1987
* the shooting down of an Iranian passenger plane in 1988
* the shooting down of two more Libyan planes in 1989
* the massive bombing of the Iraqi people in 1991
* the continuing bombings and draconian sanctions against Iraq for the next 12 years
* the bombing of Afghanistan and Sudan in 1998
* the habitual support of Israel despite the routine devastation and torture it inflicts upon the Palestinian people
* the habitual condemnation of Palestinian resistance to this
* the abduction of “suspected terrorists” from Muslim countries, such as Malaysia, Pakistan, Lebanon and Albania, who were then taken to places like Egypt and Saudi Arabia, where they were tortured
* the large military and hi-tech presence in Islam’s holiest land, Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere in the Persian Gulf region
* the support of numerous undemocratic, authoritarian Middle East governments from the Shah of Iran to Mubarak of Egypt to the Saudi royal family
* the invasion, bombing and occupation of Afghanistan, 2001 to the present, and Iraq, 2003 to the present
* the bombings and continuous firing of missiles to assassinate individuals in Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, and Libya during the period of 2006-2011

It can’t be repeated or emphasized enough. The biggest lie of the “war on terrorism”, although weakening, is that the targets of America’s attacks have an irrational hatred of the United States and its way of life, based on religious and cultural misunderstandings and envy. The large body of evidence to the contrary includes a 2004 report from the Defense Science Board, “a Federal advisory committee established to provide independent advice to the Secretary of Defense.” The report states:

“Muslims do not hate our freedom, but rather they hate our policies. The overwhelming majority voice their objections to what they see as one-sided support in favor of Israel and against Palestinian rights, and the long-standing, even increasing, support for what Muslims collectively see as tyrannies, most notably Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan and the Gulf states. Thus, when American public diplomacy talks about bringing democracy to Islamic societies, this is seen as no more than self-serving hypocrisy.”

The report concludes: “No public relations campaign can save America from flawed policies.” (Christian Science Monitor, November 29, 2004)

The Pentagon released the study after the New York Times ran a story about it on November 24, 2004. TheTimes reported that although the board’s report does not constitute official government policy, it captures “the essential themes of a debate that is now roiling not just the Defense Department but the entire United States government.”

The story when I was growing up was that America was exporting democracy to the rest of the (uncivilized) world. I believed it like everyone else did. Then somebody told me what happened in Guatemala and Iran (before the Shah). Then I started learning the history of the CIA and the rest of the world. Goddamn it! I always wondered what was wrong with all those countries in South America and Asia.

I just talked to someone yesterday who still believed that America was exporting democracy to the rest of the world. Then he asked me what on earth is going on in New York because he didn't understand it. Well....I guess that's one of the good things about what is going on in NY now.

Here is the thing, they ARE exporting this democracy rubbish.
The questions you need to find the answers to are;
Why are they doing that when America is MEANT to be a republic?
What actually is democracy as practised?
Who is behind this?
Once you get those, then you will see the deal.

Yea, financial deliberation. Empty echoes now though. I wouldn't be at all surprised if even Ron Paul got elected. it won't make a **** bit of difference, though, until the right guys slit the right throats.

(hate) Love to tell you, that's the way it is. It's not what the softporn news and current affairs want's to admit. Why would a bunch of pooffs sell their souls to truth?....all that malarky is a twisted perversion. How else do you think they got away with it?

There come's a time when the day of reckoning arrives.

Twisted logic and gutteral submission ain't going to get us out of here.

Pleasure ain't bright. ( hey, anybody noticed how dark that stuff is?)

Let go and rise to your gift. It's not a cryptic puzzle, or a mighty bang on the head. It's as straight as you really are, right out of your heart.

Remember that!..? ( a brief time of weakness, and mam was all you had )

It's all you ever will have!

Action.....and do it now..( Cry, OK, that's what we all do. believe me.)

Then we fight our way out of the **** we're in!

I find it interesting that America is again blamed for its policies in the middle east, specifically its support of Israel. Israel has been a true ally and friend to America. America has been a true ally and friend to Israel, despite the fact that several Presidents have been anti semetic. For example, Richard Nixon did not like the Jews, but he was a staunch supporter of Israel, in part because of its strategic location in the middle east. Jimmy Carter has blamed Israel for everything bad in the middle east, but he supported them while in office. Barack Obama had still not visited Israel despite the fact that he had visited every other country in the middle east. However even he has stated his support of Israel.

It is truly amazing that America is criticized for supporting Israel and recognizing its right to exist. Everyone seems to forget that America has always supported a separate Palestinian state as well. Even Israel has agreed to a separate Palestinian state, and has offered them virtually everything they had asked for other than Jerusalem. If the Palestinians truly want a separate state, they should accept any of the numerous offers that were made, then show they can co-exist. They would get more with "honey" than with "vinegar". The fact is they don't want peace - they want the complete eradication of Israel and the Jews. Every time the Palestinians have been offered an independent state they have walked away from the negotiating table. If they want to stop Israeli settlements, then sit down for a face-to-face negotiation and try to resolve the problems. Don't just say this is what we want and if we don't get it we will get up and leave. They have done this with every president that has tried to broker a peace.

America has made billionaires out of many Arab leaders. Just ask Yasser Arafat who died with an estate of $1.3 billion. Hosne Mubarick had approximately $30 million. The Prince of Saudi Arabia offered $100,000,000 to the people if they would not revolt as in the other northern African countries. Saddam Hussein had $900,000,000 that was found in only one of his hiding places. Where do you think all this money came from, if not largely from America, either from the government or from American business.

As I have said in the past, if Israel's neighbors would throw down their weapons, there would be peace in the middle east. If Israel threw down theirs, there would be no Israel. Stop blaming America for terrorism - blame those that are either jealous of what America and Americans have, or blame the religious fanatics that believe destruction and devastation of others is what their God wants. I don't know of any God who wants the destruction of someone else's life. Leave the death and destruction to your God - not your people. God should be able to create his own destruction. It is arrogant to think otherwise.

I believe that most people merely want to live their own lives today and tomorrow. They want peace and safety for their families and friends. However, the harmful and destructive acts of a few have made the world unsafe for the vast majority.

America has its flaws, however its war on terrorism is not one of them. Leave the Americans and their allies alone and take care of your own people. Then Arafat would not be a billionaire while his people are starving. The same could be said of Khaddafi, Mubaric, Hussein, and others. At least in America the people are taxed and the money is used to assist the masses. In the middle east it appears that the leaders get the money and keep it for themselves.

Stop the hypocrisy.

Absolutely right Daledo. For an in depth and disturbing review of this topic, watch John Pulger's documentary "The War On Democracy", here's a link to his website :

http://www.johnpilger.com/videos

Like all John Pilger's documentaries, it's well made and insightful. One of the interviewees is a former CIA station head, his stupidity is mindblowing !

Actually the idea of America's democracy is to give people the right, through representation, to govern themselves. At least we are able to elect representatives who find ways to take our money, spend some of it on others, and then keep the rest for themselves. In the non-democratic countries it seems as if the leaders have taken away the middle man. As an American it somehow makes us feel better to be part of the decision making process that allows the government to take our money through taxes and other assessments, rather than simply have the leaders take the money without consulting with the people!!

"Author Richard Bernstein, a former lifelong Democrat, believes that much of that dissatisfaction is due to the numerous lies perpetrated by Democrats and the mainstream media to discredit the GOP."

"His new, fact-filled book, Duped America, exposes those lies once and for all—while revealing the Democrats' dangerous ideology, damaging policies and dubious relationships with special-interest groups, all of which threaten the well-being of our country."

Erm, no.
Israel is no ones friend, especially the Israeli people and the Palestinians.
I will quote a few things at you and that shall suffice.
USS Liberty.
Sabra and Shattila.
Lavon Affair.
Morcechai Vanunu.

The people most at danger because of Israel are Jewish people all over the world.
But that is part of the plan.

America is MEANT to be a republic!
And to quote Jesse ''The Body'' Ventura, America is one better than the soviet union, because there, you could only vote for one party, whereas in America, you get two choices.
Sounds like a great deal to me.
Don't take my comments to you personally, as I don't aim for them to be taken that way.
I can see that you are new to things around here and that you are still looking at the way things work.

One true thing George W. Bush said was that those who did 9/11 "hate our freedoms".

That's absolutely correct, and they have been proving it ever since.

I find it rather amusing that America is blamed for almost everything...or Israel is blamed or both are blamed. Americans have only been getting good at wars and terrorism for a couple of hundred years while the Muslim countries, China, Europe, Africa, etc. have engaged in wars for thousands of years. The Germans killed millions, Russia killed millions China and Japan have been invading other countries for much longer than America has. England, Spain, Portugal, France and other European countries have invaded other countries for centuries, killed countless natives and ruled for as long as they could hold the countries.

From 1980-1988 about 1.5 million died in the Iraq/Iran war and in addition Saddam Hussein killed at least 100,000-200,000 of his own people, plus a good number of Kuwaitis when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Compared to these countries America is way behind in numbers of people killed and countries invaded and retained. Americans are probably not quite as brutal as many other countries in their treatment of prisoners and methods of torture, if and when torture is used. It seems rather ignorant to me that people don't know the history of wars and seem to take some kind of pleasure in thinking that America is the worst perpetrator of violence on earth. America is not the most warlike nation, we just happen to have the most well equipped and powerful military right now, but that may not last much longer.

As far as Muslims hating our policies, that's not the only thing they hate. They hate Americans because we are infidels. They tried to conquer all of Europe and they hated the infidels then. They haven't changed. Any American, non Muslim, who doesn't like our American policies and thinks that Iran or Palestine or other Muslims are their friends because they also hate America and it's policies is ignorant. If you aren't a Muslim, you're an infidel. It's okay for Muslims to kill infidels and some places in their Quran even encourage it. They hate Jews, who are infidels, and fully intend to wipe them off the face of the earth. The Jews HAVE to be better at war than their Muslim neighbors or they will be totally exterminated.

The enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend.

Exporting "democracy" to other countries seems futile and ill advised to me. Each country basically deserves the form of government they have allowed to thrive, including so called democracies or representative republics. It's not our business to depose brutal dictators in other countries so I do think our foreign policies are misguided, but I don't really know the hidden reasons for what the American government does. I can only theorize. Of course it's not what they tell us. I also am not overly concerned about what's going on because wars have been going on for thousands of years and that's not going to change in the foreseeable future.

If there is one thing all humans (mostly men) from all civilizations throughout history are good at, it's killing other humans. Humans are a warlike species....

It was just in the last few centuries that the European countries conquered the Americas, devastating it's native population and civilizations, and transplanting their own. I'd suggest that American Imperialism is just an extension and growth of European Imperialism. Same criminals, just larger base of operations.

plus a good number of Kuwaitis when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

The reason they invaded Kuwait is that Kuwait was slant drilling into their oil supply. This was not covered very much because they had to demonize him to get the support of the American people. The US government has killed and ruined just as many if not more lives of its own citizens than Saddam ever did to his own. If another country slant drilled into the US's reserves what do you think the US government would do?

If you really want to know the truth about what the middle eastern leaders think of the US just listen to some of their speaches like Ahmadinejad speech at the UN.

This speech sums up many topics that we are fighting for on Project Avalon. Please watch with an open mind and give your thoughts on what you disagree with what he actually said and not with a biased view that is persuaded by the gov't and mainstream media.

Don't trust what the mainstream media says. If you want links to more speeches like this one you can find hundreds on youtube. You will never see this stuff on FOX or CBS etc. because they have to demonize the leaders of the next countries that we are going to invade.

Here is the transcript of the above video.. Ahmadinejad speech at UN for those who hate watching videos. This will also make it easier to dissect what the Muslim leaders actually say.

Mr. President,
Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am grateful to the Almighty God who granted me the opportunity to appear before this world assembly once again. I wish to begin by commemorating those who lost their lives in the horrible flood in Pakistan and express my heartfelt sympathy with the families who lost their loved ones as well as with the people and the government of Pakistan. I urge everyone to assist their fellow men and women as a humane duty.

Let me thank H.E. Mr. Ali Abdussalam Treki, the President of the sixty-fourth session of the United Nations General Assembly, for all his efforts during his tenure. I also would like to congratulate H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, the President of the sixty-fifth session of the United Nations General Assembly and wish him all success. In the past years, I spoke to you about some of the hopes and concerns, including family crises, security, human dignity, world economy, climate change as well as the aspiration for justice and lasting peace.

After about one hundred years of domination, the system of capitalism and the existing world order has proved to be unable to provide appropriate solutions to the problems of societies and thus is coming to an end. I shall try to examine the two main causes of this failure and picture some features of the ideal future order.

a) Attitudes and Beliefs

As you are well aware, the divine prophets had the mission to call everyone to monotheism, love, and justice and show mankind the path to prosperity. They invite men to contemplation and knowledge in order to better appreciate the truth and to avoid atheism and egoism. The very nature of the message of all prophets is one and the same. Every messenger endorsed the messenger before him and gave glad tidings about the prophet to come, and presented a more complete version of the religion in accordance with the capacity of the man at the time. This continued up to the last messenger of God who presented the perfect and all-inclusive religion. In opposition to that, the egotist and the greedy stood up against this clear call, revolting against the message. Nimrod countered Hazrat Abraham, Pharaoh countered Hazrat Moses and the greedy countered Hazrat Jesus Christ and Hazrat Mohammad (Peace be upon them all). In the recent centuries, the human ethics and values have been rejected as a cause for backwardness. They were even portrayed as opposing wisdom and science because of the earlier infliction on man by the proclaimers of religion in the dark ages of the West. Man’s disconnection from Heaven detached him from his true self.

Man with his potential for understanding the secrets of the universe, his instinct for seeking truth, his aspirations for justice and perfection, his quest for beauty and purity and his capacity to represent God on earth was reduced to a creature limited to the materialistic world with a mission to maximize individualistic pleasures. Human instinct, then, replaced true human nature. Human beings and nations were considered rivals and the happiness of an individual or a nation was defined in collision with, and elimination or suppression of others. Constructive evolutionary cooperation was replaced with a destructive struggle for survival. The lust for capital and domination replaced monotheism which is the gate to love and unity.

This widespread clash of the egoist with the divine values gave way to slavery and colonialism. A large portion of the world came under the domination of a few western States. Tens of millions of people were taken to slavery and tens of millions of families were shattered as a result. All the resources, the rights and the cultures of the colonized nations were plundered. Lands were occupied and the indigenous people were humiliated and mass-murdered.

Yet, nations rose up, colonialism was alienated and the independence of the nations was recognized. Thus, the hope for respect, prosperity and security was revived amongst nations. In the beginning of the past century nice talks about freedom, human rights and democracy created hopes for healing the deep wounds of the past. Today, however, not only are those dreams not realized, but memories, even at times worse than before, have been recorded.

As a result of the two World Wars, the occupation of Palestine, the Korean and the Vietnam Wars, the Iraqi war against Iran, the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq as well as many wars in Africa, hundreds of millions of people were killed, wounded or displaced. Terrorism, illicit drugs, poverty and the social gaps increased. The dictatorial and coup d’etat governments in Latin America committed unprecedented crimes with the support of the West.

Instead of disarmament, the proliferation and stockpiling of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons expanded, putting the world under a bigger threat. As a result, the very same old goals of colonialists and the slave masters were, this time round, pursued with a new facade.

b) The Global Management and Ruling Structures

The League of Nations and, then, the United Nations were established with the promise to bring about peace, security and the realization of human rights, which in fact meant a global management.

One can analyze the current governance of the world by examining three events:
First, the event of the 11th September 2001 which has affected the whole world for almost a decade. All of a sudden, the news of the attack on the twin towers was broadcast using numerous footages of the incident. Almost all governments and known figures strongly condemned this incident. But then a propaganda machine came into full force; it was implied that the whole world was exposed to a huge danger, namely terrorism, and that the only way to save the world would be to deploy forces into Afghanistan. Eventually Afghanistan, and, shortly thereafter, Iraq were occupied.

Please take note: it was said that some three thousands people were killed on September 11th, for which we are all very saddened. Yet, up until now, in Afghanistan and Iraq hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, millions wounded and displaced and the conflict is still going on and expanding.

In identifying those responsible for the attack, there were three viewpoints.

1- That a very powerful and complex terrorist group, able to successfully cross all layers of the American intelligence and security, carried out the attack. This is the main viewpoint advocated by American statesmen.

2- That some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime. The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view.

3- It was carried out by a terrorist group but the American government supported and took advantage of the situation. Apparently, this viewpoint has fewer proponents. The main evidence linking the incident was a few passports found in the huge volume of rubble and a video of an individual whose place of domicile was unknown but it was announced that he had been involved in oil deals with some American officials. It was also covered up and said that due to the explosion and fire no trace of the suicide attackers was found.

There remain, however, a few questions to be answered:

1- Would it not have been sensible that first a thorough investigation should have been conducted by independent groups to conclusively identify the elements involved in the attack and then map out a rational plan to take measures against them?

2- Assuming the viewpoint of the American government, is it rational to launch a classic war through widespread deployment of troops that led to the death of hundreds of thousands of people to counter a terrorist group?

3- Was it not possible to act the way Iran countered the Riggi terrorist group who killed and wounded 400 innocent people in Iran. In the Iranian operation no innocent person was hurt.
It is proposed that the United Nations set up an independent fact-finding group for the event of September 11th so that in the future, expressing views about it is not forbidden.

I wish to announce here that next year the Islamic Republic of Iran will host a conference to study terrorism and the means to confront it. I invite officials, scholars, thinkers, researchers and research institutes of all countries to attend this conference.

Second is the occupation of the Palestinian territories. The oppressed people of Palestine have lived under the rule of an occupying regime for 60 years, been deprived of freedom, security and the right to self-determination, while the occupiers are given recognition. On a daily basis, the houses are being destroyed over the heads of innocent women and children. People are deprived of water, food and medicine in their own homeland. The Zionists have imposed five all-out wars on the neighboring countries and on the Palestinian people. The Zionists committed the most horrible crimes against the defenseless people in the wars against Lebanon and Gaza. The Zionist regime attacked a humanitarian flotilla in a blatant defiance of all international norms and kills the civilians.

This regime which enjoys the absolute support of some western countries regularly threatens the countries in the region and continues publicly announced assassinations of Palestinian figures and others, while Palestinian defenders and those opposing this regime are pressured, labeled as terrorists and anti-semites. All values, even the freedom of expression, in Europe and in the United States are being sacrificed at the altar of Zionism.

Solutions are doomed to fail because the right of the Palestinian people is not taken into account. Would we have witnessed such horrendous crimes if instead of recognizing the occupation, the sovereign right of the Palestinian people had been recognized? Our unambiguous proposition is the return of the Palestinian refugees to their homeland and the reference to the vote of the people of Palestine to exercise their sovereignty and decide on the type of governance.

Third is the nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is clean and cheap and a heavenly gift which is amongst the most suitable alternatives to cut the pollution emanating from fossil fuels. The Non- Proliferation Treaty (NPT) allows all member States to use nuclear energy without limits and the International Atomic Energy Agency is mandated to provide member States with technical and legal support.

The nuclear bomb is the worst inhumane weapon and which must totally be eliminated. The NPT prohibits its development and stockpiling and calls for nuclear disarmament.
Nonetheless, note what some of the permanent members of the Security Council and nuclear bomb holders have done: they have equated nuclear energy with the nuclear bomb, and have distanced this energy from the reach of most of nations by establishing monopolies and pressuring the IAEA. While at the same time, they have continued to maintain, expand and upgrade their own nuclear arsenals.

This has entailed the following: not only the nuclear disarmament has not been realized but also nuclear bombs have been proliferated in some regions, including by the occupying and intimidating Zionist regime.

I would like here to propose that the year 2011 be proclaimed the year of nuclear disarmament and “Nuclear Energy for all, Nuclear Weapons for None”.

In all these cases the United Nations has been unable to take any effective course of action. Unfortunately, in the decade proclaimed as the “International Decade for the Culture of Peace” hundreds of thousands were killed and injured as a result of war, aggression and occupation, and hostilities and antagonism increased.

Ladies and Gentlemen, very recently the world witnessed the ugly and inhumane act of burning the Holy Quran. The Holy Quran is the Divine Book and the eternal miracle of the Prophet of lslam. It calls for worshipping the One God, justice, compassion toward people, development and progress, reflection and thinking, defending the oppressed and resisting against the oppressors; and it names with respect the previous Messengers of God, like Noah, Abraham, Isaaq, Joseph, Moses and Jesus Christ (Peace be Upon them all) and endorses them. They burned Quran to bum all these truths and good judgments. However, the truth could not be burned. Quran is eternal because God and truth are everlasting. This act and any other act which widens the gap and distances between nations is evil. We should wisely avoid playing into the hands of Satan. On behalf of the Iranian nation I pay respect to all Divine Books and their followers. This is the Quran and this is the Bible. I pay respect to both of them.

Esteemed Friends, for years the inefficiency of capitalism and the existing world management and structures has been exposed and the majority of States and nations have been on a quest for fundamental changes and for the prevalence of justice in global relations. The cause of the United Nation’s ineptitude is in its unjust structure. Major power is monopolized in the Security Council due to the veto privilege, and the main pillar of the organization, namely the General Assembly, is marginalized. In the past several decades, at least one of the permanent members of the Security Council has always been a party to the disputes. The veto advantage grants impunity to aggression and occupation; how could, therefore, one expect competence while both the judge and the prosecutor are a party to the dispute? Had Iran enjoyed veto privilege, would the Security Council and the IAEA Director General have taken the same position in the nuclear issue?

Dear Friends, the United Nations is the key center for coordinating the common global management. Its structure needs to be reformed in a manner so that all independent States and nations will be able to participate in the global governance actively and constructively.
The veto privilege should be revoked and the General Assembly should be the highest body and the Secretary-General should be the most independent official and all his positions and activities should be taken with the approval of the General Assembly and should be directed towards promoting justice and eliminating discrimination.

The Secretary-General should not come under pressure from powers and/or the country hosting the organization for his stating the truth and administration of justice. It is suggested that the General Assembly should, within one year and in the framework of an extraordinary session, finalize the reformation of the Organization’s structure.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has clear suggestions in this regard and stands ready to participate actively and constructively in the process.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I announce clearly that the occupation of other countries under the pretext of freedom and democracy is an unforgivable crime.
The world needs the logic of compassion and justice and inclusive participation instead of the logic of force, domination, unilateralism, war and intimidation. The world needs to be governed by virtuous people like the Divine Prophets. The two vast geographical spheres, namely Africa and Latin America, have gone through historic developments during the past decades. The new approaches in these two continents, which are based on increasing levels of integration and unity as well as on localizing growth and development models, have borne considerable fruits to the peoples of those regions. The awareness and wisdom of the leaders of these two continents has overcome the regional problems and crises without the domineering interference of non-regional powers. The Islamic Republic of Iran has expanded its relations with Latin America and Africa in all aspects in recent years.

And about the glorious Iran, the Tehran Declaration was a hugely constructive step in confidence building efforts which was made possible through the admirable good will by the governments of Brazil and Turkey along with the sincere cooperation of the Iranian government. Although the Declaration received inappropriate reaction by some and was followed by an unlawful resolution, it is still valid.

We have observed the regulations of the IAEA more than our commitments, yet, we have never submitted to illegally imposed pressures nor will we ever do so. It has been said that they want to pressure Iran into a dialogue. Well, firstly, Iran has always been ready for a dialogue based on respect and justice. Secondly, methods based on disrespecting nations have long become ineffective. Those who have used intimidation and sanctions in response to the clear logic of the Iranian nation are in real terms destroying the remaining credibility of the Security Council and the trust of nations for this body, proving once and again how unjust is the function of the Council.

When they threaten a great nation such as Iran which is known throughout history for its scientists, poets, artists and philosophers and whose culture and civilization is synonymous to purity, submission to God and seeking justice, how can they ever expect that other nations to have confidence in them? It goes without saying that domineering methods in managing the world has failed. Not only has the era of slavery and colonialism and dominating the world passed, the path to the reviving old empires are blocked, too.

We have announced that we stand ready for a serious and free debate with the American statesmen to express our transparent views on issues of importance to the world in this very venue. It is proposed here that in order to have a constructive dialogue, an annual free debate be organized within the General Assembly.

In conclusion, friends and colleagues, the Iranian nation and the majority of the world’s nations and governments are against the current discriminatory management of the world. The inhumane nature of this management has put it at a dead-end and requires a major overhaul. Reforming the world’s affairs and bringing about tranquility and prosperity requires the participation of all, pure thoughts and the divine and humane management.
We are all of the idea that justice is the basic element for peace, durable security and the spread of love among peoples and nations. It is in justice that mankind seeks the realization of his aspirations, rights and dignity, since he is wary of oppression, humiliation and ill treatment. The true nature of mankind is manifested in the love for other fellow humans and love for all the good in the world. Love is the best foundation for establishing relation amongst people and amongst nations.

As Vahshi Bafqi, the great Iranian poet, says:
“From the fountain of youth, drink thousand sips
You’ll still die if you don’t have love’s grip”

In making a world full of purity, safety and prosperity people are not rivals but companions. Those who see their happiness only in the sorrow of others and their welfare and safety only in others’ insecurity, those who see themselves superior to others, are out of the path of humanity and are in evil’s course. Economy and materialistic means are only some tools to serve others, to create friendship and strengthen human connections for spiritual perfection. They are not tools for show off or a means of dominating others.

Men and women complement each other and the family unit with pure, loving and long-lasting relations of the spouses. In its center is the guarantee for the continuity and the bringing up of generations, for true pleasures, for spreading love and for reforming of the societies. Woman is a reflection of God’s beauty and is the source of love and caring. She is the guardian of purity and exquisiteness of the society. The tendency to toughen the souls and behaviors of women deprives them of their very basic right of being a loving mother and a caring wife. It would result in a more violent society with irreversible defects.

Freedom is a divine right that should serve peace and human perfection. Pure thoughts and the will of the righteous are keys to the gates of a pure life full of hope, liveliness and beauty. This is the promise of God that the earth will be inherited by the pure and the righteous. And the people free from selfishness will take up the management of the world. Then, there will be no trace of sorrow, discrimination, poverty, insecurity and aggression. The time for true happiness and for the blossoming of the true nature of humankind, the way God has intended, will arrive.

All those seeking justice and all the free spirits have been waiting for this moment and have promised such a glorious time. The complete human, the true servant of God and the true friend of mankind whose father was from the generation of the beloved Prophet of Islam and whose mother was from the true believers of Jesus Christ shall wait along with Jesus the son of Mary and the other righteous to appear in those brilliant times and assist humanity. In welcoming them we should join ranks and seek justice.

Praise to Love and worship, praise to justice and freedom, praise to the true humanity, the complete human, the true companion of humankind and peace be upon you and all the righteous and the pure.

Thank you.

Mr. President,
Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am grateful to the Almighty Allah who granted me, once more, the opportunity to appear before this world assembly. I have the pleasure to express my sincere thanks to H.E. Joseph Deiss, president of the sixty-fifth session for his tremendous efforts during his tenure. I also would like to congratulate H.E Nassir Abdulaziz AI-Nasser on his election as the president of sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly and wish him all success.

Let me seize the moment to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives in the past year, particularly to the victims of the tragic famine in Somalia and the devastating flood in Pakistan and especially the earthquake and the ensuing explosions in the nuclear power plant in Japan. I urge everyone to intensify their assistance and aid to the affected populations in these countries.
Over the past years, I spoke about different global issues, and the need to introduce fundamental changes in the current international order.

Today, considering the international developments, I will try to analyze the present situation from a different angle. As you all know the dominance and superiority of human beings over other creatures, lie in the very nature and the truth of humankind which is a divine gift and a manifestation of the divine spirit including: faith in God, who is the ever-lasting creator and planner of the entire universe.

Showing compassion to others, generosity, justice-seeking, and having integrity both in words and in deeds.

The quest for dignity to reach the pinnacles of perfection, the aspiration to elevate one’s material and spiritual status, and the longing to realize liberty; Defying oppression, corruption, and discrimination in trying to support the oppressed; Seeking happiness, and lasting prosperity and security for all.

These are some of the manifestations of common divine and human attributes which can clearly be seen in the historical aspirations of human beings as reflected in the heritage of our search for art and literary works both in prose and poetry, and in the socio-cultural and political movements of human beings in the course of history.

All divine prophets and social reformers invited human beings to tread on this righteous path. God has given dignity to humankind to elevate his status to assume his successor role on Earth.
It is vividly clear that despite all historical achievements, including creation of the United-Nations, which was a product of untiring struggles and efforts of free-minded and justice-seeking individuals as well as the international cooperation, human societies are yet far from fulfilling their noble desires and aspirations.

Most nations of the world are unhappy with the current international circumstances. And despite the general longing and aspiration to promote peace, progress, and fraternity, wars, mass-murder, widespread poverty, and socioeconomic and political crises continue to infringe upon the rights and sovereignty of nations, leaving behind irreparable damage worldwide.

Approximately, three billion people of the world live on less than 2.5 dollars a day, and over a billion people live without having even one sufficient meal on a daily basis. Forty-percent of the poorest world populations only share five percent of the global income, while twenty percent of the richest people share seventy-five percent of the total global income.

More than twenty thousand innocent and destitute children die every day in the world because of poverty. In the United States, eighty percent of financial resources are controlled by ten percent of its population, while only twenty percent of these resources belong to the ninety percent of the population.

What are the causes and reasons behind these inequalities? How can bone remedy such injustice?

The rulers of the global management circles divide the social life from ethics and spirituality while claiming the situation is the outcome of the pursuit of the path of divine prophets or the vulnerability of nations or the ill performance of a few groups or individuals. They claim that only their views and approaches can save the human society.

Wouldn’t you think that the root cause of the problems must be sought in the prevailing international order, or the way the world is governed? I would like to draw your kind attention to the following questions:

Who abducted forcefully tens of millions of people from their homes in Africa and other regions of the world during the dark period of slavery, making them a victim of their materialistic greed?

Who imposed colonialism for over four centuries upon this world?

Who occupied lands and massively plundered resources of other nations, destroyed talents, and alienated languages, cultures and identities of nations?

Who triggered the first and second world wars, that left seventy millions killed and hundreds of millions injured or homeless. Who created the wars in Korean peninsula and in Vietnam?

Who imposed, through deceits and hypocrisy, the Zionism and over sixty years of war, homelessness, terror and mass murder on the Palestinian people and on countries of the region?

Who imposed and supported for decades military dictatorship and totalitarian regimes on Asian, African, and Latin American nations?

Who used nuclear bomb against defenseless people, and stockpiled thousands of warheads in their arsenals?

Whose economies rely on waging wars and selling arms?

Who provoked and encouraged Saddam Hussein to invade and impose an eight-year war on

Iran, and who assisted and equipped him to deploy chemical weapons against our cities and our people?

Who used the mysterious September 11 incident as a pretext to attack Afghanistan and Iraq , killing, injuring, and displacing millions in two countries with the ultimate goal of bringing into its domination the Middle East and its oil resources?

Who nullified the Breton Woods system by printing trillions of dollars without the backing of gold reserves or equivalent currency? A move that triggered inflation worldwide and was intended to prey on the economic gains of other nations?

Which country’s military spending exceeds annually a thousand billion dollars, more than the military budgets of all countries of the world combined?

Which governments are the most indebted ones in the world?

Who dominates the policy-making establishments of the world economy?

Who are responsible for the world economic recession, and are imposing the consequences on America, Europe and the world in general?

Which governments are always ready to drop thousands of bombs on other countries, but ponder and hesitate to provide aid to famine-stricken people in Somalia or in other places?

Who are the ones dominating the Security Council which is ostensibly responsible for safeguarding the international security?

There exist tens of other similar questions. Of course, the answers are clear.

The majority of nations and governments of the world have had no role in the creation of the current global crises, and as a matter of fact, they were themselves the victims of such policies.
It is as lucid as daylight that the same slave masters and colonial powers that once instigated the two world wars have caused widespread misery and disorder with far-reaching effects across the globe since then.

Dear Colleagues and Friends;

Do these arrogant powers really have the competence and ability to run or govern the world. Is it acceptable that they call themselves the sole defender of freedom, democracy, and human rights, while they militarily attack and occupy other countries?

Can the flower of democracy blossom from NATO’s missiles, bombs and guns?

Ladies and Gentlemen;

If some European countries still use the Holocaust, after six decades, as the excuse to pay fine or ransom to the Zionists, should it not be an obligation upon the slave masters or colonial powers to pay reparations to the affected nations?

If the damage and losses of the period of slavery and colonialism were indeed compensated, what would happen to the manipulators and behind-the-scene political powers in the United States and in Europe? Would there remain any gaps between the North and the South?

If only half of military expenditures of the United States and its allies in NATO was shifted to help solve the economic problems in their own countries, would they be witnessing any symptom of the economic crisis?

What would happen, if the same amount was allocated to poor nations?

What is the justification for the presence of hundreds of US military and intelligence bases in different parts of the world, including 268 bases in Germany, 124 in Japan, 87 in South Korea, 83 in Italy, 45 in the United Kingdom, and 21 in Portugal? Does this mean anything other than military occupation?

Don’t the bombs deployed in the said bases undermine the security of other nations?

The main question is the quest for the root cause of such attitudes. The prime reason should be sought in the beliefs and tendencies of the establishment. An assembly of people in contradiction with the inner human instincts and disposition who also have no faith in God and in the path of the divine prophets, replace their lust for power and materialistic ends with heavenly values.
To them, only power and wealth prevail, and every attempt must bring into focus these sinister goals.

Oppressed nations have no hope to restore or protect their legitimate rights against these powers. These powers seek their progress, prosperity and dignity through imposing poverty, humiliation and annihilation to others.

They consider themselves superior to others, enjoying special privileges and concessions. They have no respect for others and easily violate the rights of all nations and governments.

They proclaim themselves as the indisputable custodians of all governments and nations through intimidation, recourse to threat and force, and abuse the international mechanisms. They simply break all the internationally recognized regulations.

They insist on imposing their lifestyle and beliefs on others. They officially support racism. They weaken countries through military intervention, and destroy their infrastructures, in order to plunder their resources by making them all the more dependent.

They sow the seeds of hate and hostility among nations and people of different pursuits, in order to prevent them from fulfilling their goals of development and progress.

All cultures, identities, lives, values and wealth of nations, women, youth, families as well as the wealth of nations are sacrificed to their imperialistic tendencies and their inclination to enslave and captivate others.

Hypocrisy and deceit are allowed in order to secure their interests and imperialistic goals. Drug- trafficking and killing of innocent human beings are also allowed in pursuit of such diabolic goals. Despite NATO’s presence in the occupied Afghanistan, there has been a dramatic increase in the production of illicit drugs there.

They tolerate no question or criticism, and instead of presenting a reason for their violations, they always put themselves in the position of a claimant. By using their imperialistic media network which is under the influence of colonialism they threaten anyone who questions the Holocaust and the September 11 event with sanctions and military action.

Last year, when the need to form a fact-finding team to undertake a thorough investigation concerning the hidden elements involved in September 11 incident was brought up; an idea also endorsed by all independent governments and nations as well as by the majority in the United States, my country and myself came under pressure and threat by the government of the United States.

Instead of assigning a fact-finding team, they killed the main perpetrator and threw his body into the sea.

Would it not have been reasonable to bring to justice and openly bring to trial the main perpetrator of the incident in order to identify the elements behind the safe space provided for the invading aircraft to attack the twin world trade towers?

Why should it not have been allowed to bring him to trial to help recognize those who launched terrorist groups and brought wars and other miseries into the region?

Is there any classified information that must be kept secret?

They view Zionism as a sacred notion and ideology. Any question concerning its very foundation and history is condemned by them as an unforgivable sin.

However they endorse and allow sacrileges and insult against beliefs of other divine religions.

Dear Colleagues and Friends;

Real freedom, justice” dignity, well being, and lasting security are the rights of all nations. These values can neither be achieved by reliance on the current inefficient system of world governance, nor through the invasion of the world by arrogant powers and the gun barrels of NATO forces.
These values could only be realized through independence and recognition of others’ rights and through harmony and cooperation.

Is there any way to address the problems and challenges besetting the world by using the prevailing international mechanisms and tools to help humanity achieve the long-standing aspiration of peace, security and equality?

All those who tried to introduce reforms whilst preserving the existing norms and tendencies have failed. The valuable efforts made by the Non-Aligned movement and Group 77 and GrouplS as well as by some prominent individuals have failed to bring fundamental changes.
Governance and management of the world require fundamental reforms.

What should be done now?

Dear Colleagnes and Friends;

Efforts must be made with a firm resolve and through collective cooperation to map out a new plan, on the basis of principles and the very foundation of universal human values such as Monotheism, justice, freedom, love and the quest for happiness.

The idea of creation of the United Nations remains a great and historical achievement of mankind. Its importance must be appreciated and its capacities must be used to the extent possible for our noble goals.

We should not allow this organization which is the reflection of the collective will and shared aspiration of the community of nations, to deviate from its main course and play into the hands of the world powers.

Conducive ground must be prepared to ensure collective participation and involvement of nations in an effort to promote lasting peace and security.

Shared and collective management of the world must be achieved in its true sense, and based on the underlying principles enshrined in the international law. Justice must serve as the criterion and the basis for all international decisions and actions.

All of us should acknowledge the fact that there is no other way than the shared and collective management of the world in order to put an end to the present disorders, tyranny, and discriminations worldwide.

This is indeed the sole way to prosperity and welfare of human society which is an established and vivid truth.

While acknowledging the above truth, one should note that acknowledgement alone is not enough. We must believe in it and spare no effort toward its realization.

Dear Colleagues and Friends;

Shared and collective management of the world is the legitimate right of all nations, and we as their representatives, have an obligation to defend their rights. Although some powers continuously try to frustrate all international efforts aimed at promoting collective cooperation, we must, however, strengthen our belief in achieving the perceived goal of establishing a shared and collective cooperation to run the world.

The United Nations was created to make effective participation of all nations in international decision-making processes, possible. We all know that this goal has not yet been fulfilled because of the absence of justice in the current management structures and mechanisms of the UN.

The composition of the Security Council is unjust and inequitable. Therefore, changes including the restructuring of the United Nations are considered the basic demands of the nations that must be addressed by the General Assembly.

During last year session, I emphasized the importance of this issue and called for the designation of the current decade as the decade of shared and collective Global Management.

I would like to reiterate again my proposal. I am sure that through international cooperation, diligence and efforts by committed world leaders and governments and through insisting on the realization of justice and the support of all other nations, we can expedite the building of a common bright future.

This movement is certainly on its rightful path of creation, ensuring a promising future for humanity. A future that will be built when humanity initiates to trend the path of the divine prophets and the righteous under the leadership of Imam al-Mahdi, the Ultimate Savior of mankind and the inheritor to all divine messengers and leaders and to the pure generation of our great Prophet.

The creation of a supreme and ideal society with the arrival of a perfect human being who is a true and sincere lover of all human beings, is the guaranteed promise of Allah.
He will come alongside with Jesus Christ to lead the freedom and justice lovers to eradicate tyranny and discrimination, and promote knowledge, peace, justice freedom and love across the world. He will present to every single individual all the beauties of the world and all good things which bring happiness for humankind.

Today nations have been awakened. With the increase in public awareness, they no longer succumb to oppressions and discriminations.

The world is now witnessing more than ever, the widespread awakening in Islamic lands, in Asia, Europe, and America. These movements are ever expanding their spirit everyday and influence the pursuit of the realization of justice, freedom and the creation of a better tomorrow.
Our great nation stands ready to join hands with other nations to march on this beautiful path in harmony and in line with the shared aspirations of mankind.

Let us salute love, freedom, justice, wisdom, and the bright future that awaits humankind.

Thank you.

It's not our business to depose brutal dictators in other countries so I do think our foreign policies are misguided, It has never been the business of America to depose brutal dictators. It HAS been the business of America to install and support brutal dictators.

They are definitely VERY interesting and quite opposite of how he is portrayed in the US. I cant speak for other areas of the world but it would be interesting to find out what countries the people that clapped after his speeches were from and it would be really interesting to get interviews from them on what they thought of these speeches.

Here is the thing, they ARE exporting this democracy rubbish.
The questions you need to find the answers to are;
Why are they doing that when America is MEANT to be a republic?
What actually is democracy as practised?
Who is behind this?
Once you get those, then you will see the deal.

Ok, Lord Sid, this sounds interesting. What, What?

I do not agree with everything he says or believes in. His take on nuclear energy is misinformed, IMO. There are other things, to be sure. Overall though, I like the man and do not agree, at all, with the demonizing of Iran that some enthralled nations engage in. For those of us aware of the respect and tenderness shown for Mary, the mother of Jesus, in the Koran, it is only an uninformed moron and publicity seeker who could call themselves a Christian and burn the Koran. Jesus is also spoken of with great respect and an equal of Mohammed. Abraham and Moses get similar respect. (PBUT).

It is bad enough so many lies are told by so few. It is the repeating and believing of these lies by so many that causes very real, and hellish, problems.

Comedian Ron White says,"You can't fix stupid". I hope he is wrong or we are farked.

Unless the scenario where the planet Earth goes into limbo for a day or two and then emerges with STO people on one iteration of Earth and the STS unfixable stupids on another. Yeah I could roll with that. Sure to lose a few family members though. Sacrifices come with hard times.

Lor Sidious stated it correcty, and as I've said in other places - the USA today is simple the newest mask on the same energetic face that has been controlling, invading and killing on our planet for centuries. Those Americans who don't like the fact that America gets blamed for everything need to extract their heads from their anuses and find out the facts, rather than continue buying into the hypocritical lies put out by their government. I say again - the current incarnation of the USA needs to die in order for the USA envisioned by its' founding fathers to rise out of the ashes.
Anyone here want to criticize the British, and in particularly the English (I'm English) - go right ahead. Denying the crimes we've committed in the name of "freedom" or "God" doesn't alter history.
Surely we as a human family can only move forward if we acknowledge our wrongs and vow to create a future in which ALL people are equal and have equal rights.
I reccomend (however the f*ck you spell it) watching the Pilger video I posted, it'll open your eyes.

Nancy, it isn't Muslims, it isn't Jews, it isn't Germans.
It is the controllers.
As for the government in America, it treats you guys like crap.
Why would you expect it to treat anyone else better?
I don't expect the American government to treat Americans or anyone else better than they do now, just as I don't expect Iran, Syria, Egypt, Israel or any other country to treat their citizens or the rest of the world better than they do. I don't "expect" anyone, including the so called controllers to be other than who they are or do anything other than what they are doing. But as long as people think that those who hate America are their friends and are any BETTER than the American government, they will continue to be side tracked.

It isn't JUST the "controllers" who are to blame for everything. One cannot be absolved of responsibility for their own actions and beliefs just because they believed false information.

Ahmadinejad gave a lovely speech at the UN and OF COURSE he wasn't insincere or lying. (sarcasm intended) Just because people see the lies that American politicians tell does not make Ahmadinejad sincere or truthful. Lets envision a world with Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Mullahs in charge. How many of you would be happy with Sharia law? Would that be better than our laws in the western worlds? Are the people in Muslim countries a lot happier and treated more fairly than the people in Western countries? Most Western women would not like the loss of many of their freedoms under Sharia law, yet it is popular by certain groups who love to demonize America to now support the Muslim governments as the good guys. Seems to me like many of the citizens of Muslim countries have been revolting against their governments and the way their governments treat the average citizens. I certainly don't think American citizens are worse off than citizens in Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Libya and many many other countries.

Those Americans (and citizens of other countries) who like to blame America for everything might also like to extract their heads from said anuses, but I doubt that they would like to find out the facts since it might conflict with their view that it is even possible "to create a future in which ALL people are equal and have equal rights". It may be that things are going along just fine considering we are living in duality where humans are warlike, conflict is inevitable and "equality" is misinterpreted by delusional people into a warped theory where someone else has control over granting these supposed "rights". In duality you will have what you earn or take and you will retain what you are able to defend.

I don't think anyone is saying Iran or China would be nicer dictators. But what America is involved in is criminal. Just because one criminal is as bad as another criminal does not make him less of a criminal.

When I was growing up, I loved the concept of America (even though I am Canadian). When I went to University I just loved American Literature. I LOVED Henry Thoreau and Ralph Emerson. I thought there was something so wonderful about their ideas and something wonderful about America....all that stuff those other Americans are calling "just stupid" in the Pilger video. I heard about Guatemala and that singer, Victor Jara, who had his hands crushed from an Iranian man who had been in the student revolution in Iran. From him, I also learned that Iran had been a democracy taken down by the CIA. Theses things shocked me to the core, at the time, because I had been "just stupid" and believed in those concepts I learned from the television and my American literature professor. I can't say what this knowledge has done to me and I can understand why most Americans would not want to know. Its life altering and painful.

I don't know if people realize how beautiful Libya is:

The reason I post this is because people are so conditioned to believe in the "liberation" myth. I think the Libyans were quite well aware they had a wonderful country. And we aren't going to hear that in the news.

When I read his words I have no doubt there can never be peace in the middle east.

That is one powerful selected list of videos.

They would be one large bite of truth for a lot of people, however it would be a beginning if but 2 peeps in a 100 that browse PA took the 1/2 hour or so to view them all, and dare remain unmoved to the depth of the problem of ignorant people being manipulated by MSM, as someone uses some string to play with kittens.

Thank you, and I thank those that put the time & effort to put these clips together, so that people, one by one, sometime, somewhere, somehow, can eventually get around to connecting these dots.

Interview with Matthew Hoh on PBS Newshour with Jim Lehrer (Oct 29, 2009) on why he resigned from his US State Department Post in Afghanistan and why he disagrees re. the US/International military engagement in Afghanistan.

".. we are fighting people who are fighting us, only because we are occupying them, or because we are supporting a central Government that they view as occupying them ... "

War on Terrorism? Who in their right mind would pick up a gun and kill another human being for "terrorism".

That is the exact reason I started this thread... to expose that it is a manufactured terrorism and that it didn't originate in the countries that are being invaded. If we can get this info out to the soldiers... and they have any brain... they will stop the fighting and murdering that they are doing.

Terrorism is simply a tactic - it's not a war against a defined enemy, so it will go on forever and allow all the Govts to take away more and more rights from their people. Soon the terrorists will become you and I as the Govt planned it all along.
