There seems to be some confusing here to what is going on in downtown NY. Perhaps you can chat on this live feed and offer some advice and/or a few words of encouragement. Members in the crowd are watching you watching them...so if you want to help but can't be here...this is one way for you to do so.
For those not willing to do so, or know whats happening....They/we are down there because something has to be done. In the beginning of all this there was some confusion in what needs to be done. It still is but organization is being met. Unions are showing up in mass, people from other parts of the country/world are showing up in mass, celebs are showing up to assist too… even if it’s merely for inspirational purposes.
What we don’t need is negative thoughts demeaning this demonstration, especially from those that are not participating or offering any ideas to better steer this movement into the direction it needs to go. Every last person down here knows there is corruption within our governments. They might not know exactly how to deal with it (ATM), but unity brings prosperity and I’m witnessing the strength it brings and the ideas trickling in from all nooks and crevasses of the crowd. This is how it begins with UNITY first. Whenever you have a mass such as this where people are feeding and caring for each other in the rain and throughout the nights…you have to see the positives going forward. Only the conquered cowards make excuses to stay slaves while allowing the crooks to get off the handle. I for one can’t sit by idle, chatting on places such as Avalon and not participate in such an event, which would be hypocrisy at its best.
We all want the change; however, everyone is not really ready to put in the work (for whatever reason). Until then… show a little support in the mean time. You’ll be surprise how much networking is going on here, how much comradery is being displayed, how much fear and shock is in the eyes of the elitist as they watch the masses of brave pro-activist grow by the day. This may be our one and only shot. If this fails we may never be able to pick ourselves up again. If you have something better to do, or add to this movement, I suggest you let it be known before blindly discouraging those willing to step up to the task.

I've been actively participating at occupytogether.org and elsewhere and will be walking my talk on the 15th during #OccupySydney. This time last week, I hadn't even heard of this movement.
If you support the movement, then I urge you to actively support it in any way you can - whether it's attending rallies, events or protests, offering moral support to those on the line or even discussing WHY you support the movement with family, friends and co-workers.
If you're unsure then, please, educate yourself, making sure you hear BOTH sides of the arguments. You can't make an informed decision otherwise.
If you don't support it, then hopefully (for you) the status quo will remain and then you won't have to explain to your kids or grandkids... I'm kidding :)
... mostly.

Some of us are in the process of setting up some sought of system for food distribution. Local restaurants are making a killing, so we’re looking at possibilities for outside assistance to place orders to certain local eateries (such as pizza, fruit stands, and bagel shops). Right now we are determining who will be in charge of overseeing this. It’s just one of many ideas floating around. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share them...
Also, here’s a link to another source helping out with the food issue.

I suggest using some discernment when dealing with such avenues because there are opportunists everywhere. Food has been coming in but I can’t yet confirm it was thru this set up…
Again, thanks

Hi Peace,
I think it is great that you are there. I am trying to decide if I will go to Occupy Pittsburgh on the 15th. I do have a few concerns. I am not sure it matters as long as the movement get's attention but there are rumors that Soros is behind the OWS movement. Is there any truth to that ? Also, have you read The Reset Button document ? Jackovisk started a thread that might be of interest to you. OWS needs to Target Real Enemies. Have you watched the documentary Ring of Power ? Have you seen the trailer for a new documentary titled THRIVE ? Are the protestors well informed ? I will make a donation if you will tell me where to send it.
Good Luck,
Anna

In case you don't know, this is officially what the Occupy Wall Street movement is about -
Source: http://www.dangerousminds.net/comments/first_official_statement_from_the_occupy_wall_street_movement/
"This was unanimously voted on by all members of Occupy Wall Street last night, around 8pm, Sept 29. It is our first official document for release. We have three more underway, that will likely be released in the upcoming days: 1) A declaration of demands. 2) Principles of Solidarity 3) Documentation on how to form your own Direct Democracy Occupation Group. This is a living document. you can receive an official press copy of the latest version by emailing c2anycga@gmail.com."
Declaration of the Occupation of New York City
As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.
As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.
They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.
They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless nonhuman animals, and actively hide these practices.
They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit.
They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.*
To the people of the world,
We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.
Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.
To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.
Join us and make your voices heard!
*These grievances are not all-inclusive.

Anna, there is nowhere you can send donations. They don't want your money (unless you want to sponsor/donate a couple of pizzas). Anyone asking for donations is doing so under false pretences. The way to show your support is through participation - either active or passive in your local area.

If they were originally behind this movement it has clearly been taken out of their hands...back fire would be an understatement. Do what you feel is right. Everyone is not cut out for this...however, everyone is cut out to assist in their own way.
