We tried to right a common misconception with this experiment - the issue at hand isn't extraterrestrials, but hidden human abilities.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 26, 2011

Many were contacted by “aliens” during an experiment conducted by the OOBE Research Center at UCLA. It was the first experiment to ever prove that close encounters with UFOs and extraterrestrials are a product of the human mind.

20 volunteers assembled at UCLA on October 7th, 2011. They were instructed to perform a specific procedure upon overnight and early-morning awakenings over the next few days. More than half of the volunteers experienced at least one full or partial out-of-body experience as a result. 7 of them reported making visual contact with UFOs or extraterrestrials. Meanwhile, the sensations they described were identical to those of accounts by “alien abduction survivors”. By some estimates, up to one million Americans experience such encounters every year.

According to the researchers, the term “out-of-body experience” is used to refer to the sensation of having left the body, and not a real exit of some essence from the physical body - although this is just the impression often had by test subjects.

The fact that UFOs and extraterrestrials may be deliberately encountered in a controlled manner and within a few days proves that such experiences are a product of the human brain. Experiment author Michael Raduga explained, "We tried to right a common misconception with this experiment - the issue at hand isn't extraterrestrials, but hidden human abilities. If you've encountered UFOs or aliens after sitting or lying down, it can now be unequivocally stated that you've had a spontaneous out-of-body experience. We have proven this."

It has long been theorized that encounters with extraterrestrials are nearly always the result of spontaneous out-of-body experience. However, scientific proof would have to wait until the discovery of methods for inducing the out-of-body state. In September 2007, the OOBE Research Center started to conduct hundreds of experiments on thousands of people in 5 countries. That work resulted in the development of a procedure allowing anyone to have an out-of-body experience within the first several attempts. This procedure in turn allowed for the OOBE theory of extraterrestrial encounters to be tested and proven correct. The experiment was led by Michael Raduga, founder and head of the OOBE Research Center, as well as the author of 10 published books, the best-known of which is School of Out-of-Body Travel. There are many here who will testify otherwise (after having their own privet research,Jake (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/member.php?723-Jake),fo instance)

I am not sure about the 'facts' that are presented here.Is it possible that all such experiences are a product of the human brain? it feels like those conclusions derive from a very limited picture. It seems that they will not be able to explain cases like Jim Sparks ,for example, who had a conscious abduction memory. and there are others.
However, those are just my initial reactions, and I better read more of this expariment and only later reach my conclusions (as if I need any).

They will do anything to try to make us feel inept about what we encounter in these states of being.
They have been doing this for years now,it's just another ploy to get us on drugs or worse.

This is similar to this conclusion:

"A team of researchers, after shifting the focal plane in a telescope, concluded that distant stars are a product of the lens you use."

You just can't argue with such logic.

I´m sure some abduction experiences are indeed a product of our minds, maybe most part of them, but I´m also sure that some are not.

How about abducted persons with scars, implants and this kind of things?

This research has only proved one thing: SOME abduction experiences are products of our brain.

It means the 'researchers' are willing to do anything but have a direct experience of their own, and then tell us what our experiences are. I can "unequivocally state" that these poor bastard researchers are delusional. I'm sure their work is a lot of fun for them, but I'd like to be able to prove that all the people in the world who are 5'8" tall, with French and Celtic bloodlines and who only bare my first and my last name are the true heirs of the rulership of the world. Now that would be a fun world to live in!

Is 20 test subjects a 'mass'? Everyone without exception has OOB's in their sleep. There's nothing out in the astral ring apart from non-terrestrial beings. If these guys have devised an easy method that helps people remember their OOBs, I might be interested in reading that publication.

Lets take those '20' (duh) test subjects, and have them drive their cars out into the Nevada desert at night. If they all come back at the same time then these researchers must be right. We can rightly assume that physical abductions are a figment of our imaginations.

The research project is intriguing, admittedly, however the conclusion far too absolute.

And yes, the sample size is too limited as well.

I would be interested to see what the data suggests with a test group of 1000 or more.

Then why does the military and black ops - in various nations - spend so much time, money & resources training people in remote viewing? - Same thing. Past experiments have included the "viewer" being able to visit a hidden location or room and identify objects within that room which they are not aware of physically or have any knowledge of. Sounds like another experiment to "dis-prove/debunk" something we already know exists.

How does this experiment explain embedded probes or other physical evidence?

This can be an innocent enough experiment,it doesn't have to be attached to a deliberate purpose to delude us,however human science has such a limited tools to check such a thing in the first place that probably the Extras up there are scratching their heads, Trying to figure out when us people will start to gather things together, they probably think that they beter give us yet another startling physical discovery just to get us one step closer to any truth.

I'd like to tell them that patience pays off :)

I really am not resonating with this atoll, seems very tailored.

This work is about OOBE and contains a very interesting guide book for free with step by step instructions for doing this yourself. It looks fascinating and I'm anxious to give it a try. The author does draw the conclusion at the very end of the guide book that ET experiences are in his opinion OOBEs, stating that he himself was "abducted", then came to realize through mastering these techniques that it was in his mind.

I agree with the above statement that this conclusion is akin to claiming stars are a result of learning to use a telescope, but I don't think you should let that deter you from checking out the technique. This could be a very valuable tool for the serious seeker.
