Ok, I've been awake again, ALL NIGHTcounting sheep doesn't work.:flock::flock:
So I thought I'd list some things that I have done. Just thought other insomniacs might want to join in and play the what to do in the middle of the night game.
If you are awake, and don't want to be, this is the place to write whatever is on your mind.
Whats the object of the game?? The object is to try to not be depressed about going yet another night without sleep.
So what I have done so far since about 10 pm..
1. tossed and turned
2. tossed and turned while counting sheep (and various other creatures)
3. meditated
4. got out of bed
5. ate some yogurt and a glass of milk
6. clipped my cats claws
7. listened to my other cat puke (twice)
8. cleaned up cat puke
7. heard some crazy loud wild coyotes yelping for like a half hour
8. went outside to skywatch, too cloudy and kind chilly too
9. played solitare
10. did some laundry
11. went back to bed for a while
12. listened to hubby snoring for a while
13. got back up
14. listened to sprayplanes fly back and forth while reading the latest avalon posts
15. folded laundry, put more in washer
16. if you are still reading you must really be bored/and or awake and have nothing else to do but read someone elses adventures in insomnia
17. Got my pet frog out of tank, hung out with her for a while. (red eyed tree frog, xmas gift from hubby 2 yrs ago. Really cool. Put her back in tank with her friends. ribbit :frog:
18.Had a glass of wine, now I am writing this.
19. starting to maybe get sleepy again, think I will go try to sleep. Really need to caz i have a S**t load of stuff to do tomorrow.
20.heading back to bed.

Do you still meditate before you go to bed?
Meditation wakes you up!

Not being able to sleep is something I have dealt with for... A while, over ten years maybe, or actually my whole life, if I think about it, lol. Sometimes I have periods of quite nice sleep, but this month has been one of the most horrible months sleep wise. Third night here on like... 2-3 hours of sleep or no sleep :D Keeping my fingers crossed for tonight though.
I quit exercising after 6pm, it gets your body going... And no caffeine and no sugary things. But none of that helps sometimes, lol. It feels so random, like nothing I do helps, or don't do.
I toss and turn, then I toss and turn some more, because I think ...Maybe... Just maybe I'll pass out within the next hour. I start talking to myself inside my head, like prying myself to fall asleep, then I start talking to whomever might be listening (lol) and if they hear me then maybe they'd be nice enough to make me pass out. Nothing happens, and I'm still wide awake.
Then I look at what time it is and it's around 1-2am usually. I go outside and look at the stars, but this time of the year the weather is so sad... Gray and cloudy so you can't see the stars at all at night :D
And then I just think my head off at night, I wiggle my toes and think about the next day and how it's gonna suck, because I got no sleep, lol. Or just lay there.... Stare at the ceiling for quite a while... (wile I think some more, can't quiet my mind) And then when I'm ready to get serious about falling asleep, I start my visualizing game that I've done ever since I was a kid... Basically just imagine being in a movie that's about my life, but everything in it is great, lol.
I guess I'm just a really boring night person :D
Hope you fell asleep and you're sleeping tight. Sweet dreams.

Do you still meditate before you go to bed?
Meditation wakes you up!
Meditation usually puts me into a very calm relaxed state that i can fall asleep. But sometimes it just doesn't work for that. I normally don't meditate before bed though.

I have been averaging about every third night I sleep. Yes it SUX

Me too, sometimes nothing matters, you still can't sleep.

Ditto that

I don't think we were designed to be nocturnal.:decision::ranger::lazy2:
Hope you fell asleep and you're sleeping tight. Sweet dreams.
Thank you, I slept from 5 30 til 9. Better than nothing.

Well, the best thing to do when you awake in the middle of the night and canīt sleep anymore is to practice some OOBEs! Itīs the best time to get good results! ;)

I have kind of sorta tried before, but I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to that. Is there a" how to have an OOBE for dummies? "

Hahaha!! Yes!! Thereīs this free e-book which is great indeed! Itīs pretty easy, in fact, specially if you practice in the middle of the night or on waking up.

yes, no one told me that meditation at night wile playing with Kundalini in a serious way..will eventually put you into the sleepless state.
I ended up sleeping no more than 1.5 hours a night for approximately 18-24 months. And that 1.5 hours was just moments I could not account for, regarding the passage of time.
also, the given insomniac should familiarize themselves with astrology. Within one's cycle of life, regarding astrological events, there will be times in one's life where astrology will predict that sleeping will be nigh impossible. You will need your accurate birth time and place information in order to do a proper chart and transits, in order to see this information or explanation come up in astrology. Astrology can and will predict the cycles and patterns of the given life with considerable accuracy.
The planetary motions are tuned to the actions and motions of the plasma of space that surrounds and encompasses the planets.
Plasma is the state that 99% of the universe is in.
Recall that everything is connected to everything, in some of the dimensional aspects. Science and quantum function, spooky action at a distance. Psychic phenomena, etc.
Plasma is used by John Hutchison to create and enact his experiments on matter and objects that cause them to undergo temporal, gravitational and quantum effects.
This is synonymous to the actions of the plasma of the universe regarding their effect on the 'solids' of the universe, ie planetary systems and their cycles in time.
Now, plasma is a 'quantum mass aggregate' and has extra-dimensional aspects to it, and is thus capable of translating or transgressing linear time.
So, to observe the positions of the planets and correlate that to the condition and timeline flow of humans and their activities(internal and external) --- that is what astrology is all about.
Over time, over linear time, information that was obviously repetitive and accurate-predictable came about concerning humans and comparing to the planetary positions.... and then astrologers, or observers of this odd sequencing and repetitive motion came up with a temporal map that was a comparative of the timelessness of the now influence on the planets, as compared to human condition an actions.
To be clear, regarding a scientific investigation point about all of this: Plasma has quantum aspects to it. PLASMA IS individual atoms, individual particles, and high levels of ionic or electrical charge or electron density. all these 'bits' are quantum bits that exhibit all of the quantum behavior that is written about and spoken about in scientific literature. Plasma in space is the 'carrier' of the dimensional or dimensionless, non linear, non local aspects of quantum influence, and it outweighs and completely surrounds and encompasses the solid masses, like planets... by a factor of 99 to 1.
effectively, timelessness and quantum function RULES THE KNOWN UNIVERSE. The opposite.. time, solids, gravity, etc, those rule in a material universe as seen and observed at the bottom of the gravity well known as the surface of the earth.
Thus, we found an accurate predictor of the motion of humans in correlation with the actions and motions of the timelessness influenced heavens.
Plasma is a dimensional interface, as is the mass of the heavens. the 99% mass of the heavens in it's plasma state----is a direct interface to dimensions, regarding our 'solid' human world aspects..
We found a two-way connection between the planets and our human lives, a two way connection to timeless dimensions.
Seriously. scientifically. Accurately. An 85% accuracy. Minimum.
This the heart of why the PTB work very hard to ridicule astrology. For they know that the realization of the accuracy of astrology can and will take one out of the action-reaction-solution response pattern that they try to maintain,-- To keep everyone in an ego state and of an animal nature..so the given humans are controllable via their unrealized animal aspects.

Hi starchild111.
Can relate to your insomnia, for sure.
Have had a life long battle with chronic sleep problems.
It seems that the harder you try to dose off the worse it gets.
There is more than enough opinions out there on what you should be doing to get to sleep, but it only takes a few years of trying litterally dozens of tried and true means of getting to sleep to frustrate you to the point of seeking professional help only to be given another dozen things to try out that will eventually feed your complete frustration for another few months.
To hold on to my sanity and to be able to be in social situations without being obviously afflicted by something, i learned over much time and misery that it is so much easier to go with the flow of the river than to constantly battle against it.
So, i don,t fght it anymore and life is so much more enjoyable.
I sleep when can i and don,t worry or stress over it, and i never lay in bed for hours of tossing and turning, that is just like torture to me.
Not enough sleep can be managed but the stress of trying to force myself to sleep for year after year is a life sucker.
Don,t get me wrong, insomnia can really wear you down after awhile, but, there s always someone with a more dire disease.imho
It is like i was fighting against nature or something and it is so much easier to go with your own individual nature.
Took me a while to figure that out.
Hope you are getting some dreamy zzz,s now and then.

try melatonin.

try melatonin.
I used melatonin combined with valerian root for a couple years, worked almost every time, then a couple months ago, it just stopped working, I guess I developed a resistance to it.. I was prescribed Lunesta, and its great for sleep, however i have terrible emotional side effects from it, so I refuse to take it unless I am desperate. So "gulp" i was desperate for sleep and took it both friday and saturday night. If I take it more than 2 nights in a row, i get really bitchy and negative (wonder if its by design). So, Toothpick, you are right about fighting it all the time. It makes you crazy and frustrated, so I am getting used to staying up late and just plain going without.
But living with chronic lyme disease, my brain doesn't work properly anyway, and accumulative sleep deprivation only magnifies that, not to mention I need to sleep for my body symptoms (pain/fatigue) to subside.
That said, so many people in general it seems are going through this very thing, and I wonder if the "cell" towers, or other methods, are being used to deprive us of our sleep, which would obviously break down our immune systems and our ability to function in general, therefore ppl seek out a solution from their doctors (drugs), and instant mega money in their pockets (pharmafia). I mean we all know they benefit from our suffering financially. Looking at the big picture here and the huge percentage of people that are having insomnia these days. Really, WHY would so many people wake up at 3 am-ish almost every night.
thats how it started for me, now i cant get to sleep in the first place.
I have tried Kava, and it does relax me, but doesn't help me sleep.
I will start utilizing the night time sleeplessness by learning how to have OOBE. So, maybe I am suppose to have this extra time to benefit my higher self.:flypig:
