10 Signs That The American People Are 'Angrier' Than Ever..!

And Record Setting Government Transfer Payments Are Not Pacifying Them

The American Dream

October 29, 2011

Right now, about the only things that the American people can agree on is that they are angry and that they do not like the direction that this country is headed. Of course a lot of this is being caused by the economy. Unemployment is rampant, millions of families have been kicked out of their homes and our country is drowning in debt. But the economy is not the only cause of what is happening. There is a growing restlessness in America today. An increasing number of people feel very empty and very frustrated. We still have a very high standard of living compared to the rest of the world, and yet there is this growing sense that our country is right on the verge of something really bad. The very fabric of our society is coming apart at the seams and the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is beginning to disappear. You can almost feel the fear in the air.

One thing that the federal government has tried to do to keep everything under control is to shovel giant piles of money into the pockets of the American people. Today, government transfer payments as a percentage of GDP are far higher than they have ever been before in all of U.S. history. If you doubt this, just check outthis chart. But even with the federal government showering crazy amounts of money on people, anger and frustration in this country continue to grow to unprecedented levels.

This year the American people will be getting back more money from the government than they are paying to the government in taxes. That is not anywhere close to sustainable, but what would this country look like if welfare payments and government benefits were cut back substantially?

That is a scary thing to think about.

This country is rapidly changing, and not for the better.

The following are 10 signs that the American people are angrier than ever….

#1 According to a brand new Fox News poll, 76 percent of all Americans are “dissatisfied with how things are going in the country”. At the beginning of this year, that number was only at 61 percent.

#2 Violence in our streets continues to rise and sadly police officers are increasingly becoming targets. The number of law enforcement officials that have been killed in the United States has increased by 17 percent this year so far.

#3 Some of the crimes that we have seen recently have been absolutely shocking. Not even elementary schools are safe anymore. In the New York City area recently, one mother was killed when she tried to shield children from gunfire that erupted just outside of an elementary school. The following is an excerpt from a Washington Post article about this incident….

Someone with a gun opened fire on a street as students were let out of school Friday afternoon, killing one parent who had tried to shield children from harm and injuring an 11-year-old girl and another parent, police and school officials said.
#4 As the economy crumbles, thieves are becoming bolder and more desperate. In Indiana, one desperate thief recently ripped off a car dealership by using a crane to lift up a 2008 Jeep Wrangler and load it on to a trailer.

#5 Nothing is too big for thieves to steal these days. In the San Francisco area, thieves recently took off with a copper bell that weighs 2.7 tons.

#6 Some thieves have become so bold that they will literally steal thousands of animals at a time from ranchers. All over the United States, livestock is being stolen from ranchers in unprecedented numbers. The following is from a recent Associated Press article….

While the brazenness may be unusual, the theft isn’t. High beef prices have made cattle attractive as a quick score for people struggling in the sluggish economy, and other livestock are being taken too. Six thousand lambs were stolen from a feedlot in Texas, and nearly 1,000 hogs have been stolen in recent weeks from farms in Iowa and Minnesota. The thefts add up to millions of dollars in losses for U.S. ranches.

Authorities say today’s thieves are sophisticated compared to the horseback bandits of the rugged Old West. They pull up livestock trailers in the middle of the night and know how to coax the animals inside. Investigators suspect it’s then a quick trip across state lines to sell the animals at auction barns.
#7 Another form of crime that is absolutely skyrocketing is identity theft. Do you know if your identity is safe? The following comes from a recent article in The Palm Beach Post….

In the first half of this year, the Federal Trade Commission received more than 20,000 complaints from Floridians whose identities had been stolen — nearly as many as in all of 2010. More than half of those reporting their Social Security numbers or other personal information had been ripped off and used to commit fraud or theft were in South Florida, with heavy concentrations in parts of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Hallandale Beach.

“That kind of increase is really shocking,” said Vance Luce, deputy special agent in charge of the U.S. Secret Service in South Florida, which investigates identity theft and financial crimes. “The fact that it’s on the upturn doesn’t surprise me at all, but that’s pretty alarming.”

#8 Instead of becoming incredibly angry and frustrated, some Americans are simply giving in to depression. We still have one of the highest standards of living in the entire world, and yet a staggering number of Americans are incredibly depressed. According to a recent article by Anthony Gucciardi, more than one out of every ten Americans is currently on antidepressants.

#9 Other Americans are freely giving in to all of the anger that is building up inside of them. The reality is that a lot of Americans are so frustrated right now that even the silliest things will set them off. For example, one man down in Georgia recently firebombed a Taco Bell because they did not put enough meat in his Chalupa.

#10 But of course one of the clearest signs of rising anger and frustration in America is the Occupy Wall Street (http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/occupy-wall-street-mass-economic-riots-are-now-here-and-america-will-never-be-the-same) movement. These protests are a precursor to the mass economic riots that are coming to this nation.

Unfortunately, the authorities are not just going to sit by and watch these protests happen. In fact, they are already clamping down hard in many areas of the nation. For example, police in Oakland recently used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the Occupy protest in that city. When police opened fire, the streets of Oakland literally became a war zone for a few minutes. You can see shocking videos of the violence here, here and here.

In case you were wondering, rubber bullets are serious business. You can see pictures of what it looks like after you get hit with a rubber bullet right here.

Sadly, all of this is just a preview of coming attractions. The economy is going to get a lot worse in the years ahead and all of the craziness and all of the violence is just going to intensify.

It is not going to be a great time to be living in highly congested urban areas.

For dozens more examples of how our society is beginning to crumble all around us, just check out the following articles….

So why doesn’t the government just step in and fix things?

Well, it is because we are drowning in debt.

Collectively, the 50 U.S. states are trillions of dollars in debt at this point.

The U.S. government is so far in debt that it is hard to even put it into perspective. It is hard for the human mind to even conceive of how much money 15 trillion dollars is.

We basically used up all of our financial ammunition creating a false level of prosperity over the last 30 years. Now we are too broke to fix our problems.

Decades of really, really bad decisions are starting to catch up with us, and things are going to get progressively worse from here on out.

If you and your family do not have a plan for the tumultuous years ahead, you might want to start coming up with one.

And so what's the point here? Roll over and play dead, or grab yer guns, or trust no one 'cause there's just random violence out there and the government is too broke to respond and it's our fault anyway? Those governing behind the government are the problem and they created this s**t storm for their own purposes.

Again, I'm not sure of your point with this post. Perhaps you could offer clarification of the intention of your post and stimulate dialogue. Otherwise it sounds like fear mongering.

Hi Craig,

I hear what your saying, but I am not sure I understand what your point is?

Is this not the Truth?

Fearmongering? Forwarned is Forearmed, how people must prepare for what is yet to come...

Peaceful dissention by the masses against those that have ruined America by design is the way to go...

Jack

I think jakovesk, what they are saying is that, whilst it may be that the state you describe is the truth for you, it may be different for others. Some are even having wonderful times, buying houses at rock bottom prices and enjoying salaries whilst closing down businesses. Do you see what I mean? The Occupy---wherever people were making the point that while most people are not doing well some are growing very fat indeed.

There's something to discuss there which complements your post. Getting angry will not fix it, and may cause more misery and helpnessness. Having presented the case in your post have you any ideas to suggest which could help the situation?

Most in the know are Angry because they have Educated themselves on the Reality of it All..! The Ones that have'nt should...

"Start Educating themselves on the Truth on Who the Culprits are & How the TPTW Agenda is being implemented, so the 99% can Peacefully Stand Up against their Tyranny with Empowerment through this type of Knowledge..."
Knowledge is most Powerful when used for good...

It is only when you have experienced the 'Darkness' a 'Light' can be shined upon it...

Again, I have said many times before that I realise not everyone who reads these Threads are as Educated as some of our Members and these are the people I am trying to Wake Up with some Reality & the Truth...

It amazes me how someone is picked on when someone labels a Thread as 'Fearmongering'..?

I am not American, so I can't speak for them and welcome their input and was hoping some of our American Avalonians could share their 'On the Ground Reality/Truth' of what's really going on in their Country...

Instead of 'Targeting' the messenger...

Jack, perhaps a case of ships passing in the night. The point is that each ship( that's you and me) has an intended destination and that now that you've stated that your destination was to forewarn, well, ok, now I get that.

And as other posters have pointed out, what you prepare for may well come about, not that I want to get into all the pshchobabble and oh gosh you may attract it and nervous, nervous and nausium.....but, there is momentum built and most ships take course corrections rather slowly and do we have all that much time establish our particular timeline...oh no, now I've done just what I said I wouldn't do. Drats, guess I have to break out the life boats and bail out of this thread before I look too dumb.(not D.U.M.B's cause were not going down that rat hole)

I must be too tired tonight, so I'd better log off!

OOPS, I just read your last post. Now it's a case of posts passing in the night! I DO appreciate your contributions and hope you'll join me in mutual forgiveness for not initiating a Vulcan mind meld before sitting down to the keyboard!:noidea:

The point that I get from Jackovesk's post, is that we have just passed a road sign on the highway.

The road sign is saying that there is a lot of anger, from something, even though most people are having difficulty vocalizing they why & how, much less what needs to be done to reduce it.

The St Louis FED keeps a statistic that attempts to track something outside of stark statistics like 'unemployment' or 'income,' etc. It is called the "St Louis Financial Stress Index:"

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/STLFSI?cid=9

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/data/STLFSI_Max_630_378.png

It could be this statistic reflects a propensity for protests, such as the OWS and such like, for those that are disconnected from the 'pulse of America.'

So this static indicates it's bad, has been worse, and has been much better.

Acknowledging these kinds of realities are a good exercise. More so, if it helps people to assess their personal reality for themselves in relation to the population, and potential responses.

It could help to guide one to prepare.

I do get Craig's and "a Sith Lord" point -- the suspicion if Jackoveck is only looking to validate anger as a response.

I personally don't assess Jackovesk's intent is simply to do this, however there is room for correction.

"I am not American, so I can't speak for them and welcome their input and was hoping some of our American Avalonians could share their 'On the Ground Reality/Truth' of what's really going on in their Country..."

OK, I am an American. I live on the southern most tip of the coastal plains in the state of North Carolina. On a map, the place looks somewhat like a micro pennsula jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean just above our Southern neighbor state. This is the mouth of the Cape Fear River. The outer banks and the reedly marsh lands between the outer banks and the main land, along with lush undergrowth and sturdy water oaks are the natural barriers that protect the area from hurricane force winds. Foremost, this area is a key east coast estuarial, a breeding ground for our ocean's finest. Loggerhead turtles, Ibis, Canadian Geese, Striped Sea Bass, Dolphins, Tuna, Shrimp, Mackerel, Pelicans, Osprey, Egrets, the list goes on, and on.

There are exactly 2 roads leading into and out of the area. From there, one can head due East, or due North. It is a beautiful place, and the people who live here have worked very hard to protect it, amazingly, the place is still pretty back woods. Many of the people who live here plant gardens, keep small livestock, fish, shrimp, etc...

The largest city closest to us, just 23 miles North by land, is Wilmington, NC -another exquisite place to live. It was well planned (it's walkable, bikeable, mass transit is available, lots of small businesses, a myriad of housing choices are available, etc...) Wilmington is also a Port. From Southport, on any given day, container ships can be seen going into and out of the mouth of the Cape Fear.

The Cape Fear river earned it's name in the civil war. Southport toutes a narrow natural harbor for small ships but many a ship has run aground on the ever shifting Frying Pan Shoals. The Outer Banks constantly move. Canals in the marshes open and close. But this is nothing compared to the lay of the continental shelf, and the irregular shoals that constantly morph on the eastern side of the Banks. In order to keep the shipping lane to Wilmington open, it becomes necessary to dredge. The continental shelf stops dredgers from going any deeper than just necessary to accomodate the status quo.

Now here's my point: A while back, the Port Authority purchased land between Southport and Wilmington. They have plans to build a mega-port between the two cities. They'd like us to accomodate them but if we don't, (and we aren't) they want to shove it down our throats.

When I say mega-port, I mean a port that can accomodate mega-sized container ships, the kind we see going through the Panama Canal. If this mega-port is allowed, they are going to have to dynamite the continental shelf to do it. They will have to move parts of the Outer Banks as well. The shifting island in question is one of the only migratory homes to a bird called the Ibus but that's just the tip of the ice berg, as far as the type of destruction we will experience. I'm talking about the kind of destruction that goes on, and on... And if the Port goes in, why there really is no taking it back, now is there. The dirty deed is done. Whoops, I made a mistake, do over ain't gonna happen.

It will take constant dredging to keep the waterway clear. It will destroy this coast. It will destroy the estuarial marshlands, it will definiately destroy Southport, and negatively affect every town in the surrounding area that will have to accomodate it.

The whole area has emphatically voted NO to the Port question. Our town managers have voted NO, the towns around us have voted NO. And this is a yes or no question, there is no gray area. However, instead of listening to us, the Port Authority is taking the issue to Wilmington in an attempt to override our decision. Further, instead of listening to us, the Port Authority wants to involve the whole state of North Carolina. They want to involve people who don't know about the local area and don't really care because it's not in their back yard.

Once again this linear type of thinking prevails -that being, out of sight, out of mind. The Port Authority has money and backers. The grape vine says China's getting involved. The change everyone seems to want is buy local, recycle, build smarter, replenish our natural resources, etc... And here we have this type of thinking pushed at us AGAIN, bullying year after year, after year. The very people who are saying let's get energy efficient, let's get sustainable speak with forked tongues.

With everything that I am, every fiber of my being, I know, I comprehend, I am totally aware of the fact that building a mega-port here is absolutely the wrong thing to do - for humanity's sake, and for the sake of all life existing on the planet.

I don't mind change, life is all about change but the fine details are truely in the way you handle it. I hope, I pray, I plead, I scream (inside) that this issue is handled wel,l and with the wisdom of the ages. Let us, as those who have come before us, call upon our ancestors so that we will not be alone in this battle of life verses money. Money has been squeezed from our pockets in the form of no jobs and taxes so that others may decide our fate. The federal reserve has effectively taken the American people and are holding their lands for ransom. It's all about the power of money. The PTB are still the PTB.

(I'm a terrible writer, I'm sorry) I will add this: this sort to thing happening, as described above, is the sort of thing that is worth fighting for. Do people understand just how far too far goes?

You know the sad thing is that the ones who have been behind it all are puffed up with pride in how they've orchestrated all of this. People are attacking each other and that's not right. The real culprits are hiding in their huge mansions, laughing at everyone, knowing that people will never figure out who's really to blame. Or even how to prosecute THEM for everything they've had a hand in....
Now THAT makes me mad....

I come from the part of the country where the "over the mountain men" hailed from. The brits said they were gonna come and burn our area...so the over the mountain men marched to kings mountain North Carolina and whipped Fergeson's men. Now the area is poor and most people draw a check and think this is their right. I wonder where the spirit of the 'Over the mountain men" is today.

Back then we said hell no, we'll come find you. Defense is not a forward act of aggresion in my opinion. Where is your line in the sand drawn?

Never forget, ''they'' are only corrupt because all of us are corrupted within.
The without is nothing more than a manifestation of the corrupted internal worlds of mankind.
And, if the government does bad things, it is because we let them and/or we need them to do it.
Need it?
Yes.
