Unfortunately, I, at least, have heard many others say most of the same things the speaker articulated in this video for decades. Yet things have not only not changed for the better, but have gotten much worse. Why do you suppose that is? Could one reason be because, as the speaker pointed out, far less than half of eligible voters vote? Could it be that they understand the whole "Democratic" process is rigged? Another reason could be because the vast majority of voters continue to vote for their party of choice, no matter how disillusioned they are with things. Perhaps they've never heard (or disbelieve) the definition of insanity (i.e., doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result).

I can't speak about the Canadian government, but the US government, at least, is bigger and badder than ever. In Texas alone, on September 1, 2011 over 670 new laws went into effect. This might give one pause to consider that more laws, regulations and government agencies are NOT the solution (as it appears the speaker is advocating). And does anyone seriously believe that whatever new taxes, fees or fines our genius legislators dream up under the guise of "improving" the environment, economy, or our protection will not be passed on to the consumers?

IMO, the only thing that has any chance for moving us in the direction the speaker, and thousands/millions of others (including myself), have cried out for is a radical change in the way we behave, operate and relate to one another. We have bought the idea that we can't survive without money and massive government controls and protections for thousands of years. Have you ever asked yourself if this is true, how millions of animal species have survived for hundreds of thousands, even millions, of years without money and government controls? Yet we're supposed to be the most intelligent species in the animal kingdom. Maybe we need to re-evaluate that premise.
