NEW YORK – A group working with Occupy Wall Street is proposing a global alternative currency system to replace the currencies of individual nations.

An online group calling itself "OWS Currency" is working to devise an "alternative currency system for participants at Occupy Wall Street," according to the group's charter.

"Occupy Wall Street and subsequent occupations prove that the people are eager for a new system," states OWS Currency. "Let's help them build it."

The online working group is being coordinated by the Foundation for Peer-to-Peer Alternatives, or P2P Foundation, which writes its mission is to "produce free/opensource technologies that help people create their own alternatives to the Federal Reserve Note and the system upon which it derives it's strength."

"Achieving this ... simply requires us to construct an alternative system that does a superior job meeting people's needs," adds the foundation.

The currency project seeks to utilize several conceptual organizations already in existence that are attempting to create an alternative currency, including something called BitCoin, an experimental "digital currency ... that enables instant payments to anyone, anywhere in the world."

Also under consideration is PermaBank, which was created for the anti-Wall Street movement and seeks to develop and deploy a "set of technologies that align 'financial services' with the principles of permaculture."

further down the story says:

""In the end, there is no real answer but to remove brick-by-brick the capitalist system itself, rebuilding the entire society on socialist principles," wrote McChesney in a column.

The board of Free Press, meanwhile, has included a slew of radicals, such as Obama's former "green jobs" czar Van Jones, who resigned after his founding of a communist organization was exposed.

Obama's "Internet czar," Susan P. Crawford, spoke at a Free Press May 14, 2009, "Changing Media" summit in Washington, D.C., revealed the book "The Manchurian President".

Crawford's pet project, OneWebNow, lists as "participating organizations" Free Press and the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.

Crawford and Kevin Werbach, who co-directed the Obama transition's Federal Communications Commission review team, are advisory board members at Public Knowledge, a Soros-funded public-interest group.

A Public Knowledge advisory board member is Timothy Wu, who is also chairman of the board for Free Press.

Like Public Knowledge, Free Press also has received funds from Soros' Open Society Institute."

I wouldn't name it socialism, as it's as obsolete as capitaliam and comunism, all of them creations of the OWO. What's to come now is a totally new and different reality based on the highest good for all.

This would definitely favour the backdoor establishment of NWO. You have your eyes on the ball, Unified Serenity.

It makes all the rush to get us to sell old broken gold jewelry understandable. They are trying to buy up all the gold because this is all just part of their plan. How many of you still think OWS was just a common man's protest and not set up by Soros et al from the beginning?

I think that the ptw are really worried by even the slightest indication of 'people power' and will try to discredit,co-opt and downplay it as much as they can.Already we have had OWS being accused of being controlled by Soros, adbusters, cia, wall st themselves, possibly causing marshall law, being cruel to the homeless, wanting to bring in a Tobin tax, wanting to bring in a world currency.I'm waiting for them to be accused of booing santa claus next.

It reminds me of how wiki-leaks was attacked from all sides when they came out with some of the cables and whistle blower info. Some politicians wanted Assange taken out and assassinated. They were accused of being a threat to national and world security and possibly causing the deaths of billions of people. They were accused of being the puppets of the rothschild's,the cia, mossad etc.The msm and some of the alternative media attacked them. They had all access to funds halted by the banks, credit card companies and pay pal. Most of the leaks were down played or ignored in the msm.Assange was taken to court and put under house arrest and now wiki-leaks has all but stopped due to lack of funds. The system did a job on them and it is trying to do the same thing to OWS imho.

This attempted co-opting and discrediting of OWS is a good sign imho.If OWS was not perceived as a threat by the ptw then they would be all but ignored.

All that being said i agree that it is a good idea to keep a very close eye on any people movements etc.

I surely appreciate a better monetary system than the current. But it seems fishy to me, if before calling for it, they don't name the fact, that having money printed by private central banks out of thin air that is being loaned out on interest is a fraud and that this is the reason why we need a new system and that this is what we have to strictly avoid when creating a new one.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, has duck babies, it might be a duck.

And as for being ignored, I don't have the faintest clue what you mean. They have round the clock coverage!

Most of the info from Wiki-leaks was ignored or downplayed in the msm.One bit that did get some airplay was when civilians were mowed down by a chopper. The whistle blower who done the right thing and provided the evidence was then promptly put into jail in solitary confinement.

As for the currency spin. The new currency is being proposed by a separate group and not OWS.Grain of salt stuff. It's just a new idea being thrown about not the introduction of the NWO.

Imho it might be a bit early for a small but growing movement to take on the world's financial system in a highly defined manner but the time is coming.

I believe that the PTB are behind the OWS movement as it does not point out the problem that got us where we are. The Ferderal Reserve printing money. If you take a look at some of the videos on youtube posted by Dallasgoldbug you will find some very interesting fake events and controlled events going on in this country. He points out that a group of people is at most of these events including the Giffords shooting. He proves that people at the Giffords shooting were plants and their stories are fake. I strongly suggest you all go take a look. He points out how the same person plays the underwear bomber, OBL's son, shoe bomber and others. All of these events have one common theme. They make it appear that the population is a danger and we need more control. The Giffords shooting was a key event as it happened just before the DHS was due to take a cut in funding which did not happen because of the shooting. When you pick these events apart you will be surprised at what you will find. I will not get started on Wiki Leaks which was also controlled by TPTB.

Why does this make me think of the ''rebels'' in Libya forming a central bank before the Colonels forces were defeated?
And the creation of a central bank in Iraq, again before that war was finished.
So, it may indeed be that those who control the money right now, are also controlling this too.
And we know that soros does indeed have a lot of influence over the currencies of many nations.

A global currency ultimately makes sense, but only if it's backed by REAL gold, silver or precious metals - not the "funny money" we have today. (Nothin' beats good, hard REAL CASH!!! :)).

Yes, once there where 5 nations free of the control of the central banking hub, now there are 4.

1, 2, 3, what are we fighting 4?
