Herman Cain Sexual Harassment Charges: Third Ex-Employee Comes Forward About Candidate's Behavior

Herman Cain is being accused of sexual harassment by a third former employee.

The ex-staffer, a woman who worked for Cain at the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, told the Associated Press that GOP candidate displayed aggressive and unsolicited behavior, including suggestive remarks and inappropriate gestures. She claimed that he even invited her back to his apartment.

Cain's campaign declined to comment to the AP.

Earlier this week, Politico reported that the GOP candidate was accused of sexual harassment by two different women. The women, both former NRA employees, reportedly received five-figure settlement packages after they filed formal workplace complaints. The third woman told the AP that she considered filing a complaint, but did not.

Separately, Chris Wilson, a former NRA staffer, told Oklahoma radio station KTOK that he witnessed Cain sexually harassing a woman at Virginia restaurant in the late 90s. Wilson said that while he could not discuss specifics of what happened, he believes if the woman were to talk about it "I think it'll be the end of his campaign."

Wilson confirmed the incident to Politico.

"It was very uncomfortable," he said.

Conservative radio host Steve Deace also told Politico that Cain said "awkward" and "inappropriate" things to his station's staff.

Cain told Forbes on Wednesday that he believed Curt Anderson, a former consultant to his 2004 Senate campaign (and current adviser to GOP rival Rick Perry), is responsible for leaking information about the sexual harassment claims to the press.

Both Anderson and Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan have denied the charge.

Sullivan suggested that the Romney camp may have been responsible for the leaks. "I wouldn't put it past them," he told CBS/the National Journal's Rebecca Kaplan.

A WOMAN has broken her silence to accuse US Republican presidential contender Herman Cain of groping her in a car, when she asked him for help in finding a new job in 1997.

Sharon Bialek became the first woman to go public with detailed allegations, amid swirling accusations by four different women of sexual harassment by Mr Cain, who is vying to be crowned the Republican Party's nominee for the 2012 elections.

She also became the first to offer graphic details of what has been referred to as "inappropriate behaviour" by Mr Cain, a former pizza company executive now at the top of the opinion polls in the Republican White House race.

Ms Bialek, a single mother of one, said she had appealed to Mr Cain for help after she was let go from her job with the educational department of the National Restaurant Association, of which he was the then president. The two were driving in a car in Washington, when Mr Cain pulled over.

"He suddenly reached over and he put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals. He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch," Ms Bialek told a packed news conference in a private club in New York today.

"I was very, very surprised and very shocked. I said, 'what are you doing? You know I have a boyfriend. This isn't what I came here for', Mr Cain said, 'You want a job, right?'"

"Come clean," Ms Bialek challenged Mr Cain, demanding he confess to any inappropriate behaviour with her or other women.

Mr Cain's campaign instantly issued a denial.

"All allegations of harassment against Mr Cain are completely false," it said.

The campaign says Mr Cain "has never harassed anyone" and is calling the latest allegations "bogus attacks".

Ms Bialek has engaged the help of high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred, who said that she was "not one of the three women who have previously been reported to have alleged sexual harassment by Cain".

Mr Cain has surged from outsider status to the top of the polls of Republican candidates, vying to be the party's first African American nominee and take on Democratic Party incumbent President Barack Obama in the November 2012 vote.

That would potentially set up the first all-black presidential race in US history.

A favourite with the right-wing Tea Party faction, Mr Cain is seen by supporters as more lively than the man many expect will ultimately take the nomination, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

Mr Cain, the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, who has never before held elected office, has tried so far to survive the sexual harassment allegations by stonewalling.

Yes, I agree and it's not even for this type of scandal.

You will notice that Ron Paul is being asked this question about what he thinks on the Cain scandal lately, and to his credit, he takes the high ground on it and simply comes back to the issues, and says it's only a distraction, even if it is hurting Cain.

But, my real point here, is that I knew Cain was an establishment puppet as soon as I found this part of his resume.

Being accused does not prove guilt. There seems to be a lot more information about possible motives for some of these accusing Mr. Cain of sexual harassment. In the case of Bialek we have this information supplied by Mark Levine.

When was President Clinton asked to take a lie detector test about women accusing him of rape? I am not actually a Cain supporter mainly because he worked for the Federal Reserve and has the gall to defend the Fed still. So, he won't be getting my vote, but I also cannot just stand back and hear these baseless allegations of "He made some hand gesture that wasn't overtly sexual, but made me uncomfortable" or "He compared me to his wife's height" and that is all somehow sexual harassment! There is a push back by conservatives over these very weak but spurious allegations against Mr. Cain. These women offer little to no proof other than a settlement or filing a charge and the most spurious never filed a charge, but we now learn from this Washington Post article about one of Cain's accusers:

Karen Kraushaar, 55, filed the complaint while working as a spokeswoman at the Immigration and Naturalization Service in the Justice Department in late 2002 or early 2003, with the assistance of her lawyer, Joel Bennett, who also handled her earlier sexual harassment complaint against Cain in 1999. Three former supervisors familiar with Kraushaar's complaint, which did not include a claim of sexual harassment, described it for the AP under condition of anonymity because the matter was handled internally by the agency and was not public.

To settle the complaint at the immigration service, Kraushaar initially demanded thousands of dollars in payment, a reinstatement of leave she used after the accident earlier in 2002, promotion on the federal pay scale and a one-year fellowship to Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, according to a former supervisor familiar with the complaint. The promotion itself would have increased her annual salary between $12,000 and $16,000, according to salary tables in 2002 from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Kraushaar told the AP she considered her employment complaint "relatively minor" and she later dropped it.

"The concern was that there may have been discrimination on the job and that I was being treated unfairly," Kraushaar said.

Kraushaar said Tuesday she did not remember details about the complaint and did not remember asking for a payment, a promotion or a Harvard fellowship. Bennett, her lawyer, declined to discuss the case with the AP, saying he considered it confidential. Kraushaar left her job at the immigration service after dropping the complaint in 2003, and she went to work at the Treasury Department." As newly reviewed records pointed to deeper financial problems for the Chicago-area woman accusing Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain of sexual harassment, he wasted no time Tuesday in suggesting she is motivated by monetary gain.

Sharon Bialek's fiance — who said he is her primary source of financial support — is unemployed and preparing to file for bankruptcy, according to Lake County court documents reviewed Tuesday by the Tribune. And in Cook County, lawsuits show she has been targeted by creditors who claimed she owed them thousands in unpaid rent, personal loans and credit card bills. In a round of TV interviews, Bialek, 50, said she had no financial reasons for coming forward and had not been promised a job in exchange for accusing Cain of groping her in a parked car 14 years ago. She sought to downplay past financial problems.

"I have had bankruptcy, and it was after the death of my mother, to help my father pay for medical bills, and a custody battle. Like millions of other people out there, I was struggling," she told CNN.

Bialek had two bankruptcies, the first filed in 1991, about a year after her mother died. She declared bankruptcy again in 2001, following a suit in which her son's father agreed to provide financial support and pay her legal bills.
She declined to comment through her lawyer, Gloria Allred. Allred did not respond to Tribune questions about her client's finances.

"A major source of Bialek's income over the last decade has come from child support payments supplied by West R. Naze, the marketing executive with whom she had a child in 1998. Both Bialek and Naze filed claims in fall 1999 that resulted in Naze being ordered to pay Bialek, who was unemployed at the time, $2,350 a month.

In December 1999, Bialek filed a financial disclosure form with the court in which she said her sole source of income was the child support. She listed more than $20,000 in credit card debt, another $6,000 in unpaid medical bills from the 1998 birth of her son and a $2,000 personal loan." I will close this post with stating I think we are watching political drama and intrigue / games at their very best right now. One of the accusers has ties to Obama, another lives in the same apartment building as a top aid to Obama, one has a questionable financial history and now according to what was shared in the Levine video above may have actually been the aggressor in the car against Cain. Again, this is not the end of Cain's campaign. When was a Democrat ever targeted like this by the media demanding lie detector test or even suggesting Clinton take a lie detector test, or Ted Kennedy, or any number of high ranking government officials in very questionable relationships with women? The backlash is coming, conservatives are tired of the double standards, and Cain does not appear to be guilty of said charges. I think there is a better than 90% chance that Cain will be our next President.

Well while many will say this is a trick, I happen to believe that based on what I posted combined with your post that this is pretty good reason to believe that we are just seeing a hi tech lynching trying to be perpetrated regarding Herman Cain and sexual harassment. I would really like to do a reverse speech analysis of both, but particularly Bialek. Unfortunately, my microphone is not working. If anyone can provide a clip of the actual accusation and the denial I think I can load that into the program. I've never done it that way, but it would be worth a shot.

That's an excellent article by Coulter. I think anyone with an ounce of common sense can see what the Obama camp is up to. Again, I don't like Cain because of his Fed stance and past. I think we will just get more of the same. The elections are rigged, and the biggest job they, tptb, have is to make sure their candidate gets through the primary. I don't trust any of them except Ron Paul. If Paul were to get the win, which he would if the media didn't play it's games treating him like a nut and downplaying all of his wins in polls, we would have a lot of upheaval as Paul worked at fixing our country.
