'Berlusconi To Resign After Budget Vote'

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is set to resign after winning a crucial budget vote but losing his overall majority in the country's parliament, according to reports.

The unexpected result added to the mounting pressure on the 75-year-old media tycoon to stand down.

Mr Berlusconi won support for his budget measures in the lower house after the opposition abstained, but he only got 308 votes - eight short of a majority.

The austerity measure had already been passed by the upper house.

Opposition leader Pier Luigi Bersani immediately called for Mr Berlusconi to quit, to calm financial markets.

"I ask you, Mr Prime Minister, with all my strength, to finally take account of the situation... and resign," Mr Bersani said.

Earlier his main coalition partner, the Northern League party leader Umberto Bossi, joined the chorus of calls for him to step down.

Mr Bossi said he should be replaced by Angelino Alfano, secretary of the premier's PDL party. "We asked the prime minister to stand down," he told reporters.

Mr Berlusconi had remained defiant ahead of the vote, rejecting calls from all sides to go.

He twice used Facebook to underline his determination to stay in power after rumours he was about to resign, sending markets soaring only to fall back upon his denial.

Think of him as a pawn with a role to play.

Always watch the other hand with these "people". Never forget, they're one trick ponies, and once you see through it, it's like saying to grandpa when you were a little kid: "Grandpa, you didn't really just pull the thumb off of your other hand, I saw what you did".

Cheers,

Who owns most Italian government bonds?

Bet it's the guys who own most Greek government bonds.

Hey, here's a thought, check which other country's bonds those same guys own.

That'll give a tick box list to play with.

I think they'll have to carry him out kicking and screaming! He will not go willingly. He needs to stay in power in order to protect his interests. He entered politics to pass laws to protect himself from prosecution for the many illegal things he has done in his climb to power and his P2 masonic and mafia connections.
I hope you're right but don't think anyone in Italy is holding their breath!

Nothing said in the media I believe...
99 percent of the world treasure is in only a few hands, all well and secure in this wonderful little country in the middle of Europe.
The world - nothing new - just starving for justice.

Weekly Geopolitical News and Analysis20111107:

Paradigm lost as the Western Oligarch’s Lies unravel...

These days, reading some of the Western corporate propaganda media, you get the feeling you are reading Axis news reports of imminent victory late during World War 2.

The reality people can see with their own eyes contradicts their reports so much that only a diehard rump of the most thoroughly brainwashed now really believes the propaganda.

No matter what wishful thinking headlines they conjure up about the IMF coming to the rescue, or the Feds printing more dollars or FRN’s coming to the rescue, the fact of the matter is that the cabal that hijacked the world’s financial system has lost.

The criminal cabal is caput.

Events this week and next will provide ample proof of this.

Possible Announcements On The Table

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to be Sacked

I spoke to some people (because I don't watch TV any more and this came as a surprise) and it seems that there will probably be an election in February. It looks like he is still hoping he will be re-elected but maybe a coalition government will take over. Some people I spoke to think he'll resign and others not. I personally think he won't resign unless absolutely forced to.
Apart from the fact that Italy could end up like Greece, it is a good thing if Berlusconi goes in my opinion. He has been very negative for Italy, though it's always possible that his successor could be even worse!
I personally see evidence of people waking up here. I teach English and I have a lot of students who are quite aware of what's happening in the world. Italians are very astute have always been suspicious of their governments and politicians even years ago and have been taken in less than the British public for example who were and are convinced that they were/are living in a perfect documentary (Freudian lapse? meant democracy ;-).

But you're right, G.Deluca this seems like a charade to hide from the people the bigger picture of what is really happening.

You are definitely right, G.Deluca!
I saw them on the TV at the bar and Alfani and Berlusconi looked as pleased as punch with themselves. They are definitely up to something!
Also the interim leader is an old Christian Democrat, Andreotti's old party (Andreotti was accused of links with the mafia: he got off scot free of course but he's one of the most powerful men in Italy. They are very attached to the Roman Catholic church and their symbol is the red cross on a white background - enough said!

I'm no political expert but I had always thought somebody had been trying to get rid of Berlusconi since that psychologically unstable man threw a model of the Milan cathedral at his head. I thought it was either an attempt on his life or a warning. The man was said to be a lovely person who had never hurt a fly so could have been mind-controlled.

However, when I saw Berlusconi and Alfani, his deputy, on TV today at the bar they looked much too pleased with themselves. Berlusconi lost the election before last and Prodi the so-called left-wing politician was in power for a while. His government was a shambles and the word went around that as he was a university professor he was incompetent as a politician but when he was a member of the European parliament he did very well there and was considered a very good politican indeed. When his government fell, Berlusconi came back into power. The interesting thing was that after Prodi's term of office, Icke stated on his site that Prodi was a member of the Bilderberg group - thus a neocon!!! So it would seem that the whole thing was stage-managed to pave the way for Berlusconi to return to power. At that time, the opposition party stopped opposing and talked all the time about having to love everyone - it was really comical and quite pathetic! No opposition, no democracy! So heaven only knows what might happen in the future!
